Carolina Energy Conservation

I had 2 solar tubes installed. They were both installed on the same roof pitch. One works great and lets in a lot of light. The other one, not so much. I expressed my dissatisfaction at the auto show. They said someone would call me. The guy Fred that called said he was calling to set up an appointment to send someone out for a quote(sales call). I told him it wasn’t a sales call but to check out a problem. Je said he would be sending someone out to look at it, but as I suspected, the guy (Peter)said it was installed properly and was nothing wrong with it. I said I needed to talk to someone else. They finally sent Mary the sales girl out. At first she said there was nothing wrong with it, that they both had the same amount of light coming in. (They do not!) When I argued that point, she then said it’s probably the tray ceiling. However the tray ceiling is up much higher than the one in the kitchen which would allow more diffusing of the light, not less. Which is it, it is fine, or it’s the tray ceiling. Basically backpedaling to not admit there is something wrong. Not a happy customer!

From my first contact with Tom Ferraro through flipping the switch to solar, I can't imagine a better experience. Tom and my project manager made sure that I was kept informed of the schedule and progress every step of the way. They answered all my questions and responded promptly to any concern. We chose CEC because a sub-unit of CEC had taken care of the maintenance of our old PV system which was installed in 2008/09 by a company that since went under. We were extremely satisfied with the maintenance/cleaning job.

Carolina Energy Conservation was the company that installed my solar panels. Eddie, Josh, and Tito were the installers. Eddie was the leader and displayed leadership qualities of many much older. Josh has many of the same qualities and could have been the leader. I am sure will be soon. Tito was always busy seemingly knowing what to do and how to do it. My questions, no matter how elementary, were answered by any of the guys with comprehension and clarity. The job went flawlessly and the crew cleaned-up every day. Carolina Energy Conservation is a class act. From Paul in sales, to contact person Brian, to the on site crew, Communications was a priority among all those involved with my job. They are a good company with good workers and a good product.

I just want to say how impressed we have been from day 1 throughout the entire install process. John, Eddie, George, Josh & Fito have done a great job in both communicating everything they are doing and going the far extra mile in the detail of their work. These guys have been great. They were upfront throughout the entire process and helped me deal with all the hoops from the power utility, HOA, etc. Once the installation team came, Eddie, Josh, Tito, and George did a great job and finished everything in under 3 days. The panels look great and are working well - I'm on track to save over 63% on my power bill this month.

The installers: Eddie, George, John were very respectful, The finished product looks good. Needs inspection and Horry electric to start as of 9/20/2018. Hurricane Florence didn't help on the timeline. But the next door neighbor having the same units tells me they do VERY well during high winds...70+ here. Thanks, Guys

I can't say enough good things about the company, we were the first in our new neighborhood to purchase solar panels and they worked diligently through the HOA Approval process and didn't give up which took more that 6 months. As soon as we got the approval they squeezed us into the schedule so we wouldn't have to wait any longer. The employees that came to the house were wonderful as well. Each of them, Eddie, John, Tito, Josh and George were all courteous and went above and beyond. Thank you to everyone that worked on our project.

Where to start? Eddie, John, Tito, Josh and George were here for about 2/12 days installing 20 panels. All of them were very, very good at their jobs. They kept me informed, answered my questions and I wound up with a very neat, professional installation. It started with Paul, the account rep. Very knowledgeable and personable – no pressure. He attended a meeting with members of my HOA and provided them with sample guidelines. Once I decided to go ahead with the panels, Fred kept me informed of the status of permits and delivery of the panels. Eddie was lead. John handled the monitoring part. Tito and Josh got stuck with the grunt work and did it superbly. George is an electrician and has a contractor license - he managed the actual hookup to my electrical pane and dealt with the county inspector. Altogether a fantastic crew. Couldn’t be more pleased.

I'm very happy to leave an excellent review for all those involved in selling, financing, planning and installing my brand new solar system! Bill (sales pro) was very accommodating and explained things very well and to our satisfaction. Fred, (Operations Mgr) always keeping us up-to-date regarding schedules and coordination of materials but the best part of this whole project was the installation. All of the installers were THE absolute best of professionals! Through the rain, lightening/thunder and well yes the rain, Eddie, John, Tito, Josh and George were extremely courteous and friendly. The guys loved on my Newfies and took care to ensure that no nails are parts were left anywhere on the property. The arrived and efficiently installed the product in days despite all the rain. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend these installers. The panels are looking world class and without wires tacked unsightly anywhere! Excellent job to all at Carolina Energy Conservation from start to end! From the moment we met Bill, our salesman, we knew this was the Solar Company we were looking for. Pride in the job they do was evident from the start. Once we signed the contract, Fred set the wheels in motion and Carolina Energy Conservation handled everything! They secured the permits from the city, they contacted the city when the installation was done to get the work inspected and when that is cleared, they will contact Santee Cooper to have our new meter installed. The installation team showed up as promised, they were kind and courteous and they worked safely and efficiently. They were awesome to work with! We are completely satisfied with Carolina Energy Conservation and would highly recommend them!

The whole experience was painless and this was from the start. Bill the salesman was very knowledgeable and explain everything very well. From previous quotes we found Bill to be very honest. We had been told no electric bills period but Bill explained there would be some changes because of fees charged just for having service. We had already learned that but others were willing to mislead us. The install team was great. Eddie, John and George all took time to explain what they were doing and talked us through each step. They were very diligent to make sure that the system was installed properly and cleaned up everything each day. They also were great salesman for the company. They talked about how much training they received and were proud that the company wants them to continue their technical training so they can provide great service. The company should be proud of these employees. So far so good.

Carolina Energy Conservation installed our solar system about 2 years ago. As we do every year around this time, we have them come over to clean and inspect the entire system. Eddie and John showed up on schedule and meticulously performed a multi-point inspection of the entire system and carefully and completely cleaned each of our 38 panels. We live next to a line of cedar pine trees, so the pollen and sap get pretty thick. They now look brand new again. We strongly recommend Carolina Energy Conservation to anyone interested in a solar system, solar tubes and solar attic fans (we have them all). Everyone we have worked with has been terrific.

Had 2 solar attic roof fans and a solar array system installed in January 2018 and we are very happy with both. The installers were very professional and courteous. They explained the way to monitor the array via our laptop which is very helpful. Any and all communications with the salesman and his office were great. Our first electric bill after the array was installed was half of the previous one! They installed high quality, state-of-the-art Sunpower equipment.

Team of Eddie, John, Rich, Bradd and George finished our installation last week. Just waiting for Santee-Cooper to put in our new meter. Eddie led our crew and they did a great job. They were very knowledgeable, always stopped to answer all my questions. They were always careful on our hard wood floors in the house using foot covers. Eddie always stopped at the end of each night to let me know what they completed, when they were coming back and what they would be doing next.

The Team (Eddie, Tim, Joe, Rich, John & George) installed my solar panels last week. The layout was challenging due to my roof line and the HOA guidelines that the panels could only be on the back roof. Everyone on the team was very professional, efficient and courteous. They were all knowledgable enough to address any questions that I had as they proceeded with the installation. My friend and coworker initially awakened me about the need for solar power and the good experience he had had with this company. I called them, and we have had nothing but excellent interactions with every member. Tom Ferraro has been very helpful in sitting down and discussing all aspects of the system with us before, during, and after installation. Fred Baker has been helpful in getting all the permits and smoothing the process so that we have had to do very little leg work to get it accomplished. Riccardo and the installers have been very polite, efficient, and neat, and they were intent on not disturbing the function of our household during the installation.I can't give you any negative feedback and the system works as well as advertised. I could even monitor my solar function on a recent trip to the Czech Republic by dialing up the online service. These are very professional people and I recommend them very highly.

We just had 34 panels installed. Eddie, John, Matt and George were efficient, pleasant and highly skilled installers. Eddie was thorough, knowledgeable and took the tine to explain each step. Highly satisfied, so much so we talked our next door neighbor to install panels as well. The process was pleasant.

Once our decision was made to have Carolina Energy Conservation install our rooftop solar system, there was absolutely not a single bump in the road. Right from the beginning after sitting down with Solar PV Sales Specialist, Jason R. I was sold on purchasing a solar system. He explained every phase of the program. After signing the contract I was handed off to Operation Manager, Fred B. who kept me informed during every step of the project. My system was installed in 3 days; I can only praise the installers, John, Eddie, Matt, and electrician George. At the end of every day all work areas are cleaned up. They even went out of their way to remove a few wasp nests on my home. Every one of them were very courteous always addressing me in a professional manner buy completing any conversation by “Yes Sir” They work with and coordinate with the County (permits, Inspection) and with the electric facility (state rules/laws, inspections, change-out of meter) for a smooth transition.

Once batteries become more cost-effective we are looking forward to working with Carolina Energy Conservation again.

The installation went pretty smooth, and the installation crew was very impressive. The project Lead (George) was not only a master electrician with many years of solar system experience, but he was a very nice person, answering all of my questions anytime I asked. The project Foreman (Ricardo) was also very nice - stopping his work to answer my questions, and he also showed photos that he took of mold starting to grow in the attic areas near the A/C air handler, which had nothing to do with the solar installation. I'm grateful for that! Ricardo was also the one who explained the use of the solar system, got it properly configured and communicating on my WiFi. George & Ricardo also both did anything that I asked. The other crew members (who did all of the "heavy lifting") [Eddie, Rich, John, and Matt] were hard workers, always courteous, professional, and friendly. They all managed to stay in good spirits regardless of the steep pitch of the roof and hot sun. Everyone always used safe practices and cleaned-up after themselves, for which I am also very grateful. I could tell that they were a close-knit team, working lots of jobs together. Everything was fully explained at the start of every day, and I was prompted for questions before any work started. I highly recommend CEC to anyone interested in installing solar panels on this home.

Loved dealing with this company. They were knowledgable, professional and courteous. They laid everything out for us and explained every detail. Awesome company. Having 28 years of employment at a gas and electric company and spending the last five years dealing with solar customers, I had a general idea regarding solar power. Everyone from the salesmen to the installers knew their stuff. Would highly recommend them.

I've made two favorite investments: one was having my vision corrected via Lasix to 20/20 and the other was having Carolina Energy Conservationists install solar panels to my home. For me, this was a no brainer after speaking with Tom Ferraro of Carolina Energy. Besides the fact that Energy Conservation has the best staff of professionals, the process was so easy. I made an initial investment and in return, received the best possible benefits. I have had my panels for 15 months, and have yet to pay an electric bill that exceeds $15.00. My average bill has been $12.00 during the last few hot months. In July, my bill was $1.00. Last year, before solar panels my electric bill ran $150.00 - $200.00. With the Government Incentive, I will recoup all of my original investment. I have never had a problem with the system or its installation and I can even see how much energy my panels are producing on-line and on my cell phone. Initially, I was very excited about having solar panels installed, NOW I am thrilled that I made the right decision!! Carolina Energy Conservation are our new best friends!!

Carolina Energy Conservation installed our panels in May 2016. After a full year, I can only say WOW. I haven't done the math yet, but even in the winter months, I still had a large monthly savings. The best part ... I haven't seen a positive bill since March! In my location, the spring sun provides for the best production and with little A/C usage, I generated more than I used March - May and the credits mounted up. I just got the bill for July and the credits are now used up, but the bill was still negative .. Nice. Next month will be a positive bill, but I would say less than half of a normal bill. I strongly recommend Carolina Energy Conservation to anyone interested in saving money and the environment. They were a pleasure to deal with, their technicians were outstanding.

Installation went smoothly. They handled all of the approvals including those for our home owners association. There were a few a few glitches in getting the final approvals due to the inevitable regulatory glitches one encounters in a relatively new programs where several different entities have to be satisfied. Carolina Energy handled them promptly. The system is running well now.

From the straightforward and very complete quote (including Federal and State rebates and financial options available), contract and performance of the solar project, there is open communication with everyone you work with. They are quick to respond to questions; and, concise and complete with responses. They work with and coordinate with the County (permits, Inspection) and with the electric facility (state rules/laws, inspections, change-out of meter) for a smooth transition. Personnel include Solar PV Specialists, Engineers, Technicians, Electricians, and Finance and Administration. They are all personable, careful, and responsible. Also, all work areas are cleaned up every day.

They did the work from signing to fully installed very quickly even though we had thunderstorms roll through every day. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!
