Residential Solar Installation

The folks at Boston Solar did a fantastic job on my installation from start to finish. I met with their sales rep in late November 2017 and the system was installed on Feb 5, 2018. All approvals were granted and the system was fully operational on March 25, 2018. All of my questions during the process were fully answered by Mali Cooper from the home office and there is simply nothing negative to say about the company!

Excellent company to work with!

Boston Solar was excellent through the entire process of the solar panel installation process. Bill was great explaining the benefits of the solar panel system. The install team was very professional, they showed up when they said they'd be coming to the house. Mali did a great job scheduling the work and answering my ongoing questions.

Best in town

This company is the most through contractors I have met from Dan the front man who explains every detail to you helping you with everything right down to financing. Then there is Mali she is there with answers to all your question with a smile you can feel over the phone she is kind polite and knows her job, then there are the installers who put up the panels in dead of winter get while my husband followed them around asking questions which they gladly answered. They left the property just as they found it each and everyone was courteous, patient with us could not have asked for better group of employees to deal with they made us feel like family.

Excellent company to work with. Sales person explained not only the details of installation and helped to get the system sized for our needs, but also explained all the financial details and helped us to get the loan. Design and installation coordinator was awesome and got the project completed within 70 days. The installers were professional, thorough, tidy, on time, wiring was nicely tucked, cleaned up very nicely everyday, worked with the town inspector, and with Eversource to get the net meter installed. We wholeheartedly recommend Boston Solar.

Excellent company, great work

We are very glad we went with Boston Solar. From start to finish, everything they do is in-house - their own electricians, roofers, inspectors, project managers - and that made us feel assured of the quality we would get. Their approach to assessing the roof was much more technical and thorough than any other company we considered. Anytime we have contacted them, they've been extremely responsive in answering our questions and concerns. They are thorough, communicative, and professional. I did a lot of homework before I decided to go with the solar system and I have to say that I'm happy that I made the decision to go with Boston Solar. Very professional team, great follow-up and they walk you through the process in detail, most importantly they do not push the sale. If I have to do it again I will still go with Boston Solar.

A pleasurable experience

Boston Solar has been a pleasure to work with. I was impressed with them from start to finish. We had looked into one company before Boston Solar that gave us one option for a solar system. Boston Solar worked differently: We were given at least four options of possible systems with differences in panel output and number of panels. For each option, we were told the electrical output and how much we would get back from state and federal governments, and SRECs. Also, I found Boston Solar’s solar consultant very knowledgeable about the technical details of solar power generation and distribution. Wanting to explore the possibilities some more, their solar consultant generated a few more options on his laptop for us to consider. He also advised us to consider future needs—we were already planning on air conditioning, but he advised us to think also of other possibilities, such as electric cars. So we bought a system that produces quite a lot more than our current use, which I am very pleased about since I’ve decided to get a heat pump installed to handle air conditioning and to lower our winter heating costs. Boston Solar did an excellent job of upgrading our electrical panel (we had a mid-1950s fuse box), installing our panels, getting the necessary permits, and working with Eversource to switch us over to net metering. They also put us in touch with an excellent solar loan company (BlueWave) and told us how to apply for rebates and tax deductions from the state and the federal government. There were more steps involved in getting solar panels than I had imagined, but Boston Solar made the whole process a pleasurable experience. I highly recommend them.

Our experience with Boston Solar was nothing short of brilliant, from the first meeting with their salesperson to flipping the switch and watching our net meter start to roll in reverse, I can't say anything negative about the work that was done or the results! We've even had neighbors comment how fantastic our panels look on the roof. Happy recommend them to friends and neighbors!

As promised

The installation and costs were in line with the original quote. The customer service was efficient and any questions were promptly answered. The installation was in mid-October but have generated more than 1 MWh by year end in spite of the harsh winter conditions. Boston Solar is very professional and would recommend for anyone who want peace of mind with their installation and service.

Couldn't ask for more

Boston Solar did a great job with our system, from the initial sales call all the way through to activation. The sales rep was more knowledgeable than the reps from two other companies we talked to. The engineers were flexible in handling an unexpected twist during the planning phase. We were assigned a Customer Experience Coordinator who did a fantastic job of communicating with us and coordinating all efforts. The installation team was polite and professional. Our yard was spotless when they left - no construction debris littering the yard. The panels look great - sleek and clean, with no visible cables.

Cannot go wrong with Boston Solar

I did not have a perfect experience with Boston Solar, not even close, and yet there is STILL no other company I would rather recommend to anyone considering solar than Boston Solar. They are not just one of the best, if not THE best, solar company out there, but I think they are one of the best COMPANIES, period. I've never experienced such care and attention to making sure I was fully informed at every step of the process, and that any and all problems were completely and thoroughly resolved, if not the same day, by the very next day. Projects of this size can rarely be executed perfectly - there is almost always a hiccup or two. But the best companies care deeply about their customers' satisfaction and take full ownership of any issues that come up, then work diligently and quickly to resolve them with as little disruption as possible to the project and the customer. This describes Boston Solar perfectly. Not only do they offer an excellent product and a compelling financial case (even to clients with a less-than-perfect site in terms of roof angle/slope, partial shading, etc), but they are really just a great group of professionals that is 100% focused on doing right by their customers. You will not regret going with Boston Solar.

Boston Solar has been wonderful to work with from initial conversations to getting our system up and running. They are VERY responsive to any and all questions, and take the time to really educate you on everything every step of the way. They honor everything they say they will, and have even done some extra stuff for us outside of the panels (of course, we paid for it). I will recommend them to all of my friends that are thinking of going solar.

Knowledgeable, organized, responsive

Nice experience start to finish. Sales person knew his stuff, not just a pitch. Project manager was friendly and well-organized. They seem to have the process down. The installation crew was efficient and cleaned up well. The head electrician was particularly responsive, explaining the equipment and answering questions in detail.

I checked out a lot of solar company's and after 6 months researching with many estimates I called Boston Solar! Boston solar worked with me on my system and using the Massachusetts Solar solution. MSS work with companies and banks to make sure the install meets state standers for the customers. Boston Solar made the whole process very professional. The sales person knew the size system I needed, help me through the MSS to get my loan, system buy down it saved me 10,000. The system has a 25 year warranty on the system and production. Boston Solar is the only system to Have it. I liked the company so well I am going to help sale the product.

But it wasn't until Bill Martin came from Boston Solar and offers us the best price and explains everything in details. Working with Boston Solar was a great experience from start to finish. From sizing to installation the whole process was smooth with no issues. If I ever have a question and call the company, they always there to help me. ZERO regrets - NONE!!

The entire process couldn't have gone better. From beginning to end, every person from Boston Solar was pleasant, informative, and always felt like I was their most important customer. We were hesitant to sign up, not knowing if the credits were as good as advertised but after running the numbers 1000 ways, I know it couldn't go wrong. We chose the LG black on black panels because they're on the front of the house and they virtually disappear on the black roof. Our neighbor didn't notice until after a month! I also appreciate the interactive app and website from SolarEdge to see the production real-time. Very cool overall. After the system was turned on, I noticed one panel wasn't producing and contacted Sana. She was able to see it on her end and sent the guys out right away. Unfortunately for them, it was 5 degrees outside, but they still got up on the roof and swapped out the bad optimizer. Is it worth it? Its clean energy at a cost next to nothing. Ask yourself - " Why not?" and then try to come up with a good answer.
