Great experience

Boston solar was a great company to work with. They worked with us to get us to get our panels up and working soon as possible, including moving our installation date up when they had an unexpected opening. They did everything in their power to make the process of approvals and inspection go smoothly. Their work was professional. As the process went along, they let us know what they were currently doing and what to expect next every step of the way. I highly recommend Boston Solar.

An Excellent Experience All Around

Boston Solar was a pleasure to work with from start to finish; they communicated well, kept to their schedule, did great work, and followed up with us afterwards. We really appreciated the up-front work that went into the estimate of cost and potential power generated, and the explanation of the available tax credits, Boston Solar guarantees, and the different State incentives (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates vs "SMART incentives"). This was our first experience with solar power so the information really helped (Many thanks to John Sacco)! As fas as the installation process, weather required a change of installation date and they worked with us to arrange the first available slot. During installation a screen door received a minor tear, which Boston Solar made right with a gift card towards the repair. You can't ask more than that! Customer service is stellar. Any questions we had were quickly answered, and our Customer Experience Coordinator even talked me through rebooting our system to bring it online (thank you Mali Cooper!). Finally, we received an after-installation visit from Tom Sheridan, one of the Solar Commissioners, to make sure everything was up and running and to go through the solar monitoring website. I can't recommend Boston Solar highly enough; at a time when many companies are providing the minimum, Boston Solar did everything they promised and more!

Good Fast Work

They were always on time if not early. My system is large and they were like coordinated ants getting them installed. They cleaned up behind themselves. System is up and running of course now it is cloudy out. I was already going to purchase system so the sales pitch was long but for the uniformed they explained everything which is a lot. Looked at various reviews and they seemed to have the least complaints. My one and only complaint at the end of the day workers just left, not that they interacted with me at all. I am sure they wanted to get home.

Boston Solar - second installation

Boston Solar did our first solar installation in 2014. They did a great job at that time so we went with them in 2018 when we added more panels. The firm has very experienced installers and electricians. Also, their customer service is top notch. They kept me informed throughout the process and promptly responded to all my inquiries.

Seamless process beginning to end

My system just went active in June and so far so good! From beginning to end I really didn't have to do anything. The sales guy (Joe) was very knowledgeable, very pleasant, and quick to answer with any questions I had. Once I signed up I was kept in the loop at every step. They were very aware of my aesthetic concerns and went above and beyond to assure me that I would be happy with the end result. I even asked if it was possible for a different layout, which they told me was not possible the way I was speaking of, when I pushed back and asked them to check again, they did! And even went so far as to send me a CAD design layout showing my specific idea and explained why it wasn't going to work they way I had in mind! I also asked them to double check a roof they weren't using that I had been told my another company was my best roof for solar capturing - and they did - and confirmed that Boston Solar was right with their design! Extremely accommodating!

Boston Solar installed a system on our roof that generates 100% of our electricity needs. They maintained good communication throughout the project, keeping us informed at all times. The installation itself was done very professionally, The crew arrived on time, finished ahead of schedule, and cleaned up the yard before leaving.

The Best Solar Company

This my 2nd solar install (my other property I used next step living which went out of business) so I am some what experienced at this....lol.... I double recommend Boston Solar. Joe Pallatroni came to the house and sat down with me and I told him I knew about solar and told him what I wanted to talk about AND THAT IS ALL WE TALKED ABOUT no sales pitch, no pressure, no BULL at all just the information I needed. Sana Jameel is awesome to work with she kept me informed 100% of the time and at every step. She answered my questions I had within hours of sending her an email and that is super rare. Solar Crew 1did a awesome job. Compared to my other property this install LOOKED AWESOME!!!! They were very polite and did everything we asked of them before they left (shut garage and lock the door when they left) because we did not stay while the work was being done on the house. If I could have given a 100 starts I would have .... They are an awesome company and know what they are doing!!!!

Best company in MA

Before choosing Boston Solar I dealt with two other large solar providers; we experienced a heavy sales "push" from both and met others who had bad experiences as well. We choose Bost Solar for the opposite reason. Quality referrals and great no-pressure approach to sales. John explained every aspect of going solar in terms I could understand and as many times as it took for us to get the complexities of the current SREC II program. The other companies did not do this, rather they expected the consumer to know acronyms and calculations and seemed way too interested in getting to the good part where they close a deal and get paid. Boston Solar was more interested in educating us, which is a terrific consumer-first model. They were transparent every step of the way, great communications, personal touch and the install crew worked in 90+ degree weather to get the job done in two days (they had to stop early one day due to heat exhaustion). The crew was polite and considerate and worked safely and quickly! Our system was commissioned today (partly cloudy) and I'm already cranking 30kWhours. Do yourself a favor and call these guys first and see if you feel the same way, you most likely will. Compliments to John S. and Sana who were my account managers and made sure everything went smoothly and kept us in the loop at all times and the crew of electricians and installers who worked so hard.

Excellent Experience

This was one of best experiences we have ever had with any type of work being done. From our first meeting with Josh who did an excellent job of explaining everything to us to working with Mali who coordinated everything and kept us up to date during each step of the way! The installers we polite, extremely efficient and cleaned up perfectly. The entire experience was so easy! Kudos to Boston Solar for having a great team! I highly recommend them!

Made it right!!

UPDATED: Spoke with Mali. She quickly discerned my problem and sent me the instructions for an immediate fix. I missed her initial outreach to me in April. That email probably went to a spam file which I delete almost daily. Please show a five star rating for Boston Solar. They (Mali) were terrific. Several calls, and an email go ignored. No periodic contact as promised. No Solar Edge generation information since April 7, 2018.

Great experience!

This is our second home we have installed solar on and first time we used Boston Solar. I must say the entire experience was flawless. From contract through installation they were very informed, polite, and helpful. They right sized the system giving us the maximum amount of panels we could support at a price point that was highly competitive. We highly recommend Boston Solar!

Great Job!

One of the reasons I chose Boston Solar was that a student's mother - who had purchased a system from Boston Solar - told me that her brother in law worked for Granite Solar in New Hampshire. They considered moving into Massachusetts, but eventually decided not to because of regulatory issues - they ended up referring prospective Mass. customers to Boston Solar because they were impressed with their business model. My experience was very good from start to finish: the company took a lot of time to explain how things would go and in particular did a beautiful job on the installation. I dinged them a little below on schedule because things lagged by several months - my understanding is the solar biz has been flat out this year, so that may have been unavoidable, but the woman who recommended them said they were also behind last year. But I'm very happy with the final result.

Boston Solar made everything very easy and were very professional throughout the entire process. They worked with our schedule for appointments and the installation. We worked with Joseph, Mali, Bill and Tom. Joseph came to our home and answered our all of our questions and got the ball rolling. Mali was the project coordinator and whenever we had questions or concerns she was quick to respond. The installation was done in a day and the snow guards were put on a different day. The installers were very nice and made sure everything was done according to the plan. Tom coordinated the appointment with the town inspector (who had to approve the installation) and set it up so we could all meet to keep things moving along. This was a bit tricky and needed to be rescheduled a few times with all of the snow storms/power outages we had in March!!! (Town inspectors do not necessarily work all day so this can hold things up a bit). Once the inspection was done, Eversource came 3 business days later to change our meter and alerted Mali right away when it was all set. Mali was then able to turn on the system remotely! I got an email saying we were "energized" while I was at work! Lastly, Tom came to go over the system in detail and to answer any questions we had. Another note: we opted to purchase our panels and we used the Sungage mortgage company which was all done conveniently online! This company was recommended by Boston Solar. I would like to point out that the mortgage company is not charging us interest on the portion of the loan that we will get back from rebates, etc. after we file our taxes next year. They assume we will pay that portion of the loan within a reasonable time after we file our taxes.

Framingham Install

In my search for a solar company, I used the reviews posted online to tip the scales. The company responses to negative issues were impressive - tells me Boston Solar wants to finish the job well. The entire process from sales, installation, to completion went exactly to plan. In particular - I was assigned a project leader - Mali. She communicated to me throughout the process and answered all my questions in a very timely manner. Having the project leader was a key factor in the overall experience - and thus I have already recommended Boston Solar to a friend - who in turn will likely purchase from Boston Solar. Another plus - the installers are part of the company, not sub-contractors. The salesman was local to my town - so I had easy access to him - Tom. Lastly - I had to get to a place where my wife would like how the install would look on the roof. I spent extra time with Boston Solar on where the inverters would be installed and the piping runs. Boston Solar executed on my requests very well. Now I am getting compliments from the neighbors saying how well the install on my roof looks. Bottom Line: Easy to work with, great communications and a job well done on the install. I can't ask for more. Time to now save on that electric bill !

From start to finish Boston Solar has shown me quality, sales personal, office help, installers, inspections. It has been a pleasure dealing with these folks. They are always on time, do great work quickly and pick up the area so you don't even know they were there. I would refer them to anyone interested in a good solar system.

After much time and research I decided to go with Boston Solar for my solar panels and I’m so glad that I did! They were extremely professional, never pushy. They know they’re product and the benefits of going solar. John, my representative was great. Throughout the entire process I never felt as though I was alone. He was always there to answer any questions and concerns. He even helped me with filing for the tax credit the government was offering. In addition, their work was impeccable. Their customer service is amazing. They made sure I was envolved in every step of the project. If paperwork or information was missing they would call me just to make sure I received the email or simply to ask if I needed any help. Boston Solar System Install review

Highly recommend. Great company, they worked with me to explain and answer any of my questions. Also their customer service is great, generally very punctual email replies. John the sales rep I spoke with was awesome, very friendly and informative and patient. Also Sana my point of contact was also fantastic, she was able to answer my questions and even called a couple roofers on my behalf to inquire about roofing warranties with panel installs. The install and electrician crews they had were professional, friendly and did their work very quickly. Had a couple of scheduling issues, once due to weather/day after the super bowl, but installers still finished the job that week. Then second issue was a miscommunication with solar rep for building inspector walk through, needed to be rescheduled. Overall though very happy with the company and so far everything seems to be going how they said it would.

Fantastic Experience

Called everyone I could find and interviewed 5 companies. Only company that actually sent someone to the house to look at roof, attic and electrical panel. Rest of them was view from Google Maps. One even had old picture of house. Ordered special inverter that could except Battery Backup so took a little longer to come in. (no battery, no power during power outage). Installation went well. Cold day however they listened to my suggestion for hiding pipe and made the system look almost seamless on house. Great experience from beginning to end. Mali inside is the best. Ask for her.
