Disappointing

After reading reviews for All Energy Solar, I chose to give them a chance. That has been a mistake from the start. The permitting system is very long and drawn out and not necessarily All Energy Solar fault, but better commination would have made that process easier. After the permits, came the install. The date and time was set. No one showed up and no one called. Called the office to be told that my install was rescheduled, no one took the time notified me. The install was rescheduled. That day came and a crew showed up to do a partial install. They installed 11 solar panels on my roof. The install crew was very professional. The remainder of the install was yet to be scheduled. When it was scheduled, the same problem happened again. Date and time but no crew and no call. This happened 3 times. Finally the Electrician arrived to complete the install. The Electrician informed me that the system that was designed for my house was a partial back- up, not a full system back-up as I requested. I also purchased a Tesla power wall for a full system back-up. The Electrician adjusted the designs to convert the system over to a full house back-up. The Electrician, did an excellent job and was very professional. So now I have an electrical system set up for complete home back-up, but only enough solar panels for a partial home back-up. Several weeks after the installation was complete. My roof started leaking into my kitchen. I called Anthony from All Energy Solar, advised him that my roof was leaking. He advised me that he would get someone out right away to fix it. I never heard anything back. I went up on the roof located what I thought was the source of the leak and repaired it myself. One of the solar panel mounts appeared to be leaking. Two weeks later I get a call advising the a crew was on the way to fix the leak. I advised that I already fixed it. They sent a crew to verify. I Spoke to Anthony about adding 3 solar panels so that my system would be upgraded to support a full house backup. I was told I had to buy 6 panels for and additional $ 13,000. Not going to happen. I found out that the Federal Solar Tax Rebate was not a rebate at all. It is a non-refundable tax credit. Everything through the sales process and on All Energy Solar web site state that it is a Federal "Rebate". Again and again I was told that the 30% "Rebate" I would receive could be applied towards the loan. This was emphasized all during the sales process. It was implied several times the the Federal Tax "Rebate" would be paying for a portion of the solar price. The Fales statement on their website and through out the sales process regarding the Federal Tax "Rebate" is misleading and a lie. The "Rebate" is a non-refundable tax credit. NOT A REBATE!!! You do not get any money back, you would receive a reduction in tax liability. Also the fact the loan interest rate would be very high was not adequately emphasized. I have a credit score above 780 and my interest rate is 9%. I feel as if I have been sold a used car by an unscrupulous sales person. I have called my sales person (Anthony) with several of these issues and each time I am told that he would look into it. Then no reply or response

Ghosted mid project

This is a tale of two projects (that are the same project). Perhaps it will end happily as a tale of three projects, but I don't hold out hope. We contracted with All Energy back in May. At first, everything was going smoothly. It took time to get the project off of the ground, but nothing that felt unexpected. Over the summer, the team helped us get our initial inspections done, even identifying work that needed doing in our attic that only tangentially related to the panel installation. It was even easy to modify the plans when we decided to put a couple more panels on the roof. By mid-August, the installation team arrived and quickly put up the panels, installed the Power Wall, and rerouted all of the electrical wiring. We were told at that point that there would be two inspections that needed to get done before the connection process could commence: one from the Village for the building specs, and one from ComEd for the electricity. At this point, we were transferred to a new project manager, and everything started to go downhill. First, we received less than 16 hours notice that the Village was coming to our house for their inspection. I got the email mid-day on Sunday for a Monday arrival. We scrambled to make sure that an adult was home, but of course this was inconvenient at best. The inspection went well, and so we waited for a notice about ComEd's inspection. And waited. And waited. I emailed our project manager at the beginning of September, affirming that the Village inspection was complete, and asked if there were any updates on the timing for ComEd. I heard nothing back. Two weeks later, I emailed again asking for an update. Nothing. Not even a confirmation that the email had been received. I emailed AGAIN two weeks later, and once again got zero response. In this email I asked if I needed to retain legal counsel to look into recouping the $30k+ we had already invested into panels that were degrading on our roof with no benefit to us. This week I called. It is now mid-October. I got through to the person who USED to be our project manager and had a conversation. She informed me that in my file, nothing had been updated since the completion of the installation of the panels. They had no record of the installation of the Power Wall, no record of the rerouting of the electrical wiring, and no record of the Village inspection even being scheduled, much less completed. Then I was told that the hold up was at ComEd's end (which doesn't make any sense: if they didn't know the status of my wiring, why would they be trying to schedule an inspection?). I explained that all of this was poor and that I needed to be better informed about the status of the project. I could have helped them catch their abysmal record keeping had they simply returned ANY of my previous correspondences. I asked them to put me on a weekly update in the future, and she agreed. Fast forward to today. It is Sunday morning, and my wife received an email from ComEd reminding us of our appointment TOMORROW. I can tell you that it is difficult to be reminded of an event of which you were hitherto unaware. I checked my email to see if I had missed a correspondence. (Hope springs eternal.) Of course, I had not. So it appears that MIRACULOUSLY ComEd has come around a mere 5 days after my call to be able to arrange an inspection immediately after "dragging their feet" for over a month. Wouldn't it have been nice for All Energy to LET ME KNOW. So here I am again, scrambling to ensure that an adult can be home for an inspection I have been alerted to with less than 24 hours notice ON A SUNDAY. This product may turn out to be good, but the customer service on a project that will ultimately cost me $50k out of pocket is absolutely unacceptable. I do not recommend them.

Never Trust Anything They Say

The sales process was great. The installation was hit with delays, the scope of work changed, and the array was modified. Service is hard to get a hold of, and panels were down for weeks. Scheduled visits were missed, and communication is terrible. I am hiring another company to review their work now.

POOR THEY WONT MAKE MY HOUSE SAFE .

I would not recommend them until you do your own homework they have made my house have a dangerous situation an said they cannot fix it because of the following conversation which I will paste their response I have snow falling off my 2nd story roof right on my front stairs cannot get out sometimes of the front door. They also charged me a $1000 down payment when they figured out Panels deposit was only supposed to be 500 never got the other 500 Dollars Hi Ken, The concern with installing a snow guard on the solar panels is that not only is the snow load in Marlborough 80 lbs/square foot, which is quite a lot, but the panel manufacturer JA has advised that installing snow guards on the solar panels will void their warranty. I notice there are no gutters installed along the roof line. Gutters could be another possible solution for you. Kind regards, Kristina On Fri, Dec 18, 2020 at 9:19 AM Carlo M wrote: Hi Ken, Im sorry that this is occurring. Ive attached the pics from your other email chain as well. Im looping in our service managers for them to make a formal recommendation on what we should do here. My thought is that we would want to get a snowguard installed but I want them to make the call. Kristina/Cecily could you look at this and recommend what needs to be done? If it is a snowguard can you please provide a price? Thank you Carlo Ma Project Coordinator/Customer Liaison

After Sale Service is the WORST

I really wanted to give them a good review. I really liked Colin, who came in, told me all about it, what to expect, etc. He was great. From there the service went down. My "case manager" continually confused me with another customer during the installation process. The installation guys...again...great! After the fact, customer service is simply horrible. 2-3 days returning a customer call or email is not customer service. I am currently going on 7 days with no response to my email inquiry. I was really hoping for more support as I navigate a totally new power system that I've spend a lot of money on. Completely disappointed.

All Energy Solar does not provide system integrity/monitoring...

All Energy Solar did a good job at installing, but falls very short for System integrity/monitoring of the PV system. For the solar system they sold me and installed, there was absolutely no monitoring/supervision of the individual micro inverters. I had a micro inverter fail within a month of installation, but it was not detected until over a year and a half later, when I was looking into a separate issue I was having. I’m sure this problem is happening to other solar customers right now; micro inverters have failed, and as far as the customer can see, the system is saying it is “normal”. The Enphase Envoy-S PV controller turns its LEDs red to indicate a trouble, but All Solar Energy Solar installs the controller in a closed off electrical enclosure so you cannot see this feedback. The “MyEnlighten” software they provide you shows an array of all your solar panels, which go from black to a nice light blue during the day as solar is generated; but this display does not indicate individual solar panel performance (an average person would think it does, but it doesn’t). A dead solar panel is displayed as if it were working just fine. In addition, at the upper left side of the display, there is a green check mark, with the words “NORMAL” displayed, indicating the system is normal, even when there is a non-working solar panel in the system. All Energy Solar makes this claim: “We ensure your system's performance to increase your payback and keep you generating clean affordable energy for years to come.” Once I found out I didn’t have the capability of monitoring/supervising the individual micro inverters, I asked All Energy Solar why they did not detect the problem (they have access to this data that I did not); I was told by them that they do not have the manpower to monitor their customer’s data, even though they claim they “ensure your system's performance”! If you have access to this data, it only takes a few seconds to see if there is a failed micro inverter or not. There are 2 ways to avoid having a non-supervised system (Since All Energy Solar does not monitor your system). 1: Cut an observation hole in the cover of the electrical enclosure so that you can see the LEDs on the Envoy-S PV controller. I did this and epoxied a piece of clear Plexiglas over the hole. 2: Buy the “Enlighten Manager” software ($249) that displays each individual solar panel data. With this it only takes a second to see if there is a bad micro inverter in your system; although in the upper left the display still says “System Normal” even when there is a bad micro inverter (so ignore the system normal indication). I was never told that this software was available, or that I needed it if I ever wanted to know that something had failed in my system.

Over Promised, Under-Delivered

I chose All Energy because I liked the salesman and after discussing the best way to do the system and some negotiation, he gave me a great price. Little did I know this was just a "hypothetical" price. Once we started getting into the project, they kept lowering the number of panels and increasing the cost of the install per watt. They changed the price from $2.82/watt to $3.77 per watt overnight, despite me sending in the deposit. Now they are claiming that I have to pay whatever price they tell me, despite signing a contract for lower price. It's a little bait and switch. I'm confident they could install the system, but I don't trust their business practices. I had a few build requests that their sales guy couldn't answer, but I was able to find with a phone call to another installer in minutes. I wouldn't trust what they try to tell you in regards to rebates or final pricing.

Solar install

I got into the made in MN in 2015 but they did not do the install till mid 2016.It would of been better to get it done in 2015 but they were to busy. Looking back when they told me that I wish I would of found someone else. I installed my first 8 KW system myself but needed someone else to do this to get the made in MN rebate. I have some trouble with there install and the way it works that is a problem with the workmanship not the parts. I have called them several times to get them to repair it but keep getting told they are to busy. I have been waiting about 3 months and not sure if or when they will ever come. I am a journeyman electrician and told them I could take care of most of it but was told if I did they would void the warranty. So I am still waiting for them. I was told some things by the salesman that were not right. There service and install should be much better..

Repeatedly Dishonest - Very Disappointing

This company seemed great when we first met with them in July. They were taking lots of orders so unfortunately said we'd have to wait until early October for an install. The week of, we called to check in and were told we'd been bumped back to early November. Then it was late November. We finally got panels put up in the middle of December. Next step was to have an electrician hook them up. We took off work to let him in on a Friday morning and when he didn't show, we called and were told he'd have to bump it back to Saturday morning. Then it was Saturday afternoon. He finally showed up Tuesday under the promise that he'd stay and get it done that day. However, he only stayed 1 hour before leaving saying he'd be back in a couple hours. He never returned. We're now being told he'll come Friday, but I can't get a hold of anyone willing to put that in writing. I am desperately hoping that their product is better than their service and that they eventually decide to actually complete the work they've started. More people need to get solar and All Energy Solar is undercutting the industry by offering such terrible service. I now recommend that people buy into solar gardens rather than deal with someone coming to their home to put up panels. If they are set on getting them in their home, I cannot recommend All Energy Solar at all. We are very disappointed in their lack of service.
