I was really impressed with the A-1 Solar project team who installed the Solar Panels. They were extremely professional and courteous. The team called and told me exactly when they would be at my house and the day they were going to be here and, they were as arranged. The install went extremely smooth and the project manager kept me informed on everything they were doing, and answered all my questions. The install is very neat, attractive, and professionally done. When I called the A-1 Solar office to ask questions I was able to talk with Laura, she was very polite and knowledgeable about all aspects of the entire solar system. Laura was able to inform me how the tax credit worked with the Federal Government. In fact Laura also sent me the forms I needed to file with my tax return and let me know if I have any questions concerning filling out the forms to call and she would walk me through the entire process. I was also informed that if I have any questions in the future I can call and A-1 Solar will be more than happy to answer them. It is also refreshing to know; when you call A-1 Solar that you actually get to speak with the receptionist who will transfer your call immediately to the person you are wanting to speak with. The entire A-1 Solar team deserves recognition for the way they represented the A-1 Solar Company with such professionalism and courtesy. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in having solar panels installed.

We contracted Sunbelt Solar to install a roof-mounted solar system to our home, and we are supremely pleased with their work. Steven and Ken were very helpful with answering any questions we had. Based on the vicinity of a few large (and valuable) trees to the direct east and southwest from the roof, Sunbelt Solar recommended to install our panels on the east-facing roof. I love coming home to see our beautiful roof now that there are energy-producing solar panels. It's a dream come true. <br />In addition to powering our home, we are able to generate power to charge my Chevy Volt. It's so wonderful to drive a car that is powered by the sun, even if done so indirectly. Our first electrical bill was for the month of November, and I am pleased to report that it was $35, and not the $120 it was the previous November.

What I liked about my experience with EFS was they were willing to take on and resolve a problem with my system (that was installed years ago by a company that was no longer in business). Too many of the solar companies I contacted were all too willing to sell me a NEW system, very few were willing to help resolve the problems in a system created by “someone else”. The EFS on-staff engineering team was exceptional in troubleshooting the root of the system problem I had encountered and worked to achieve a resolution to the problem. So, if you encounter a problem with your solar system, you might want to contact the people at EFS to fix the problem.

We started installing Son Solar panels a few years ago. Each year we added additional panels until we reached the amount needed to cancel out our energy usage. The product, installation and follow up are excellent. There is really no reason to look anywhere else. This family owned company is top notch. They won't sell you anything that you don't need. They do the research, analyze what your energy usage is and adapt your system to give you the greatest efficiency. I recommend this company to anyone.

The good - the physical laborers. The bad - everything else. They installed our panels in March 2019, but during installation they stepped on a ceiling light in the attic and cracked the ceiling. We then proceeded to get two different leaks in our roof from the solar panels. It took over 6 months and lots of no call, no shows from their contractors to get our roof leaks and the bathroom damage fixed. At this point, my wife and I requested a meeting with someone in the upper management to discuss our frustrations. We finally got the meeting at the end of September. The president and chairman refused to meet with us after my wife and I got off work, so we both had to take time off work in order to drive all the way downtown to meet them by their requested time. During the meeting, my wife and I told Keith Graepler and Peter Olson about everything that had gone wrong. They apologized and gave excuses for why things happened and said they would get everything fixed. After that, I asked how they were going to make it up to my wife and I for the 6 months of wasted time and frustration. They acted like we were being completely unreasonable for even asking such a thing. There were a number of questionable remarks by both men, but most of all when I asked them what they would do if they were in my shoes. Keith then responded that "he and Peter were contractors, so they understood how these things work and my wife and I were not contractors, so we had no idea how these things work, so that question is completely irrelevant." He then went on to say in exact words, "If I were in your position, I would not want to PISS OFF the people who were in charge of my solar warranty." Again, more very questionable remarks, but the meeting concluded eventually. Both Keith and Peter gave us their personal business cards and told us to call or text them directly with any more concerns from here on out and they would get back to us within the day, if not a couple hours. Two weeks later they finally got back to the house to repaint the bathroom. I then texted Peter on a Saturday about the compensation he and Keith had agreed on. I did not expect to hear back from him until Monday, as it was a weekend. Monday comes, no word back from Peter. So I proceeded to text the exact same thing to Keith on Monday. And no response from Keith either. So I called Keith that Wednesday - no answer. So I left a message - no response. That Thursday Peter emails me, not calls. He says that now that everything was fixed, they would send the compensation that "we agreed upon" although it was indeed NOT what we had agreed. He went on to say that my wife and I were trying to take advantage of SunSource and were being extremely unreasonable. The entire time, SunSource played as though they were the victims in the process. I would absolutely never recommend them to anyone. Feel free to contact me for more details.

I'm residential in the stix of Missouri. I was lucky Brightergy even considered my place as it is remote, wet and muddy most of the year. By the time they were through with the project I had a ground mounted array approx 10kW, with 3 - 1500 watt secure outlets installed from the inverters into my kitchen. I also installed a heat pump and high efficiency water heater in my all electric home. My only bill from the utility for 9 months of the year 2 years now is line usage fees fro the utility. I'm very happy with the quality and quick service. They monitor my installation with the Sunny Boy Inverter's wifi. I can watch it too, from my phone or PC. I enjoy the fact that I can still use the solar even during an outage, to keep my fridge and other essentials powered.

We are very impressed with the proposal, engineering, layout, site visit, and final installation. We monitor the results daily and we are right on schedule. Of course no one has control of the weather but it is on track as we expected. We had six craftsman on our projects at different times. All were very professional in all aspects of installation. Even in 94 degree heat they worked extremely hard and continuously. I am retired from the electrical industry and held several positions in management of Fortune 100 companies including owning a partnership in an electrical transformer manufacturing company. This crew was experts in their field, never thought of cutting corners, installed with quality products, and installed properly in accordance with NEC. I can not say enough about the entire installation and highly recommend AltEnergy Staunton for those considering a solar project. You will not be disappointed!

So the biggest fear you have when a group of guys drills 400 holes into your new roof is a leak right? We got one - and these guys jumped on it and stayed on it until they sourced the problem out. They were responsive, they were professional and they are reimbursing us for the small amount of ceiling damage that resulted. Leaks happen, its the service after the sale that separates the pros from the shmos. Kudos to Straight Up - From sales to installation to service, these folks have earned this 5 star review.

Best solar company out there. I love that they also have a roofing company so I didn’t have to worry about leaks. Their sales people are not pushy or use high pressured sales tactics like their competitors. The Bliss Brothers are very nice, clean cut, and have the integrity that I like to see in a company. I will refer them to all of my friends.

Hector thoroughly explained the whole process, and also ensured that he was present when it came time for the panel installation. Patrick with sovereign solar was fantastic through out the whole process. He offers very competitive pricing allowing his clients to maximize their ROI. I had an issue with a panel under producing and his team was out the next day to replace it temporarily while we waited for the warranty panel. I truly enjoyed working with Sovereign Solar on this install and cannot be happier with the results. We saved $220 the first month after installation on our power bill.

The reviews scores for the largest solar companies are far worse than those for local, family-owned solar installation companies.
The best solar companies meet the following criteria:
The solar industry is full of fly-by-night solar companies — both big and small — that open one year and are gone the next.
Solar panels last for 25-30 years, so you want an installer who will help you with any problems or system faults. For this to happen, your installer needs to be able to stay in business
Local solar companies, as a group, have the highest reviews score on our site and also have lower overheads than corporate installers, making them more likely to survive in the long term.
