Overview of Whidbey Sun & Wind
Whidbey Sun & Wind, established in 2000, is one of the most experienced renewable energy companies in the Pacific Northwest, providing a broad range of renewable energy system solutions to our neighbors in the northern Puget Sound region. Renewable energy is our only business, so we are able to provide the best solutions and support for our customers. Because we've been at this a long time, and use the equipment that we provide every day, we understand the technology, its benefits, and its limitations. Our goal is to create a cleaner, sustainable future by helping people understand and use renewable energy. Whidbey Sun & Wind's crew include NABCEP certified Solar PV Installers. NABCEP (The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) is the national certification organization for professional installers in the field of renewable energy, offering certifications and certificate programs to renewable energy professionals throughout North America.

In a follow-up meeting, the company contact discussed with me a contract that might be prepared for periodic panel cleaning and maintenace. To date, I have heard nothing more about this - and would like to.

We have built green (solar, tight envelope, air exchange, living roof etc) - it will be about 12-13 months after move in (late April 09) before we can say just how effective the overall package will be.

Our home is now a finalist top 15 for the national Energy Value Housing Award. The PV addition has been a significant part of the nomination. It is very nice going into retirement not having worries about rising utility bills. I included renewable energy in our new house construction because of my ethical conviction to live sustainably. I only wish that my finances would have allowed a 6 kW system.

These folks combine friendliness and professionalism most effectively. It was like having the work done by neighbors and friends. They met our uncertainty with understandable clarity, and went about their work efficiently and unobtrusively.
