After we decided to install panels on our home on Guemes Island they were prompt, accommodating, and flexible with work schedules and timing. I could not be happier!

I wanted to put a large solar panel photovoltaic system on our house. I was recommended to use Whidbey Sun and Wind by a friend who had them put in a system about six years ago. I gave them a call and a young man named Mark Anderson came out. He did some measurements and took some siting information and then sat down and educated me on my options. He sent me a bid within a couple days. He was very friendly and quite knowledgeable and professional. I checked out the things he said and everything was as he told me. I called several other places and Whidbey's bid was as good or better. I stopped by their shop in Coupeville and signed a deal with them. They installed the system on time and were very professional about watching out for plants and putting the inverter and panel in the best spot for looks and function. I did feel bad for the installers since on the two days that they scheduled for installation, it was 22 degrees and blowing 40 mph out of the north. Worst weather of the winter but those guys were just awesome. They cleaned up everything and did a very professional job. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone considering a solar photovoltaic system for their home.

The right decision

Before deciding to install our solar system, we contacted several prospective contractors for proposals. Whidbey Sun & Wind (WSW) responded in a timely manner with a comprehensive proposal that was price-competitive. Before making the final decision, we had a few additional questions which were promptly and thoroughly answered. Based on a comparison of the systems proposed and their costs as offered by the various contractors, we selected WSW. We are extremely happy with that decision. Mark, the project manager, saw that the work was completed as scheduled and as specified. The installation crew - Adam, Golda & Kyle were personable, professional, and efficient in accomplishing their work. The entire team worked closely with us throughout the installation and start-up process, and we're very happy with the results. We're "up and running" now - watching the PSE meter "spin backwards". Surprisingly, we even see some production on cloudy, rainy days - and when the sun shines bright, wow! When you consider installing a residential solar system, we strongly recommend you consider Whidbey Sun & Wind.

NOLS Pacific Northwest 9.54 kW array

Whidbey Sun and Wind were a highly professional, cordial, and a reliable solar company. They installed a 9.54 kW array for our school's campus located in Mount Vernon, WA. Their staff (project managers, installers, and electricians) was a pleasure to work with, from the first bid to the final flipping of the switch. We found their communication to be proactive, descriptive, and educational, especially in light of some unique permitting challenges we encountered with L&I. The aesthetic quality of their work was also excellent--the panels, inverter, and electrical conduits have a streamlined quality and they were very collaborative in helping us choose the most appropriate locations for all of the above. All in all, we recommend Whidbey Sun and Wind for any solar array installation project. The quality of their service is top notch!

Cottage installation

During walkthrough and initial inspection, showed me the 'good and the bad' with respect to seasonal shadowing, and gave me enough information to make decisions on. On second visit with company electrician, showed me the substandard work previously done and quickly gave me 'cost and consequences' information so I could again make good decisions. Work and hardware and staff were on time and on schedule. Only surprise came when I found out I got to buy the new meters from Puget Sound Energy. Small cost, but was not part of the contract.

Solar PV system installation

Very prompt in returning calls and answering questions. System was installed 3 months ago and there have been no problems at all. Coordinated with roofing contractor to install stanchions during re-roofing prior to panel installation. Streamlined electrical inspection and Puget Sound Energy transition so that it was not a big headache for us. All of the staff were courteous and professional. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Professional and thorough

From our first meeting with Paul, our project manager, until the final installation was completed we found WSW very professional, knowledgable and thorough. Their team of project managers and installers work hard to make sure you are receiving quality work and information. Our system is up and running within 10 days of starting the installation process. This has been a long time dream come true and we are very pleased with the work done by WSW.

Excellent Solar Company

We were quite pleased with the work done by Whidbey Sun and Wind. Our solar system is a work of art on our roof, making a statement to folks on Fidalgo Island that there are alternatives to the continued dependence on fossil fuels, that the alternatives are already here. WS&W's representative, Mark Anderson, was always easy to reach, thoughtful, and good to work with. Highly recommended.

2012 installation on Whidbey

Whidbey Sun and Wind is a terrific company to work with in all aspects. Every individual we encountered was professional and easy to work with. Choices, which were willingly explained again and again, were offered, and pricing was competitive. The sales rep., who also worked on the installation, was not only helpful and knowledgeable but also patient with us. The installers were outstanding. They were knowledgeable, had a good work ethic, treated one another with respect, were courteous and considerate, did a great job of cleaning up and picking up, completed the job in a timely fashion, etc. We would recommend Whidbey Sun and Wind to anyone.

Excellent Company

Very professional, knew their business! All our questions were answered. We were never pressured to choose a specific product or even to go ahead with the project after we'd gotten quotes on the different products and instillation. They explained very well how everything works in layman terms since we were new to solar. They took care of all the permitting, paperwork and inspections, which was great. Thanks Lori! Installers were excellent, kind, courteous, respectful of our property. Very personable, easy to talk to. Got right to work and even finished ahead of schedule, which worked out great for us. Mark our project coordinator responds quickly to emails, texting and phone calls, even now post instillation. Everyone involved was very personable - we feel we gained friends. All this and they are a local company too! Isn't it great we have a local company to be able to support! Kelly has put together a great team. We couldn't be happier.

PV system install

WS&W were excellent in all aspects in the process of installing a PV system for me. They were flexible on the schedule for installing the system as my house/shop had a strung out completion date. They went out of their way to find cost savings and were very flexible on the financial aspect of the project. They were very thorough in explaining the system including it's functions and maintenance. I would highly recommend them for anyone wanting a PV system.

Simply The Best

Whidbey Sun & Whidbey were terrific to work with. We have worked with many contractors and these folks are top notch. They not only came in exactly on budget; they also did what they said they were going to do when they said they would. How often does that occur? All our questions were answered no matter how many times we asked the same one. On-site follow up training of the equipment and reporting was provided. Each and every individual we interacted with was professional, knowledgeable and efficient. The whole process was a positive experience. Right down to the final inspection. When L&I came out for the inspection we were told Whidbey Sun & Wind does excellent work. There are a lot of moving pieces when installing a solar array. Knowing we could call upon Kelly the owner, Mark our sales rep, the installation team or Lori who does all the paperwork concerning PSE and keeps everything on track made the experience enjoyable. Not only would we recommend Whidbey Sun & Wind we have! You won’t go wrong with this team.

Whidbey Sun and Wind recently installed solar panels on my new home. From start to finish, the process was excellent. WS&W is a great company!

Everyone at WS&W is professional and a delight to work with. Paul spent a long time running different scenarios for us to choose from and demonstrated endless patience in explaining the pros and cons of each. We had to install a new roof and they worked with the roofer to co-ordinate installation of PV panel standoffs after the felt but before the new roofing masterial was installed. They came back after the new roof was finished and completed the rest of the job on schedule and on budget. Follow-up was great throughout. The company is very well run and the employees care about their work. We highly recommend WW&S.

Mark, Kelly and the rest of the WSW team were responsive, reliable and prompt. Communication was great. They completed on schedule (even though supplies ran low for Washington state panels)and on budget. Follow-up was great throughout. The system is actually producing more than the estimates used to calculate the breakeven point for the investment. This is a well-run company and it's obvious the employees like their jobs. We highly recommend and would not hesitate to use them again.

First Rate

I was part of the Solarize Stanwood/Camano project and was assigned Whidbey Sun & Wind. I could not have been happier. Mark kept me totally informed, Goldy did an expert job on the electrical and the installers were friendly, efficient and thorough. My questions were answered quickly and the timeframe arranged was followed and the job was completed on time. I highly recommend them to everyone.

We were new Whidbey residents, and stumbled across WS&W. We got lucky. The folks were completely professional, with the added benefit of being friendly and caring. No part of the work went without explanation, and the job was done efficiently and reliably. When we had to reroof, they were again quick and reliable. 4.59 Kw Solar system

From initial system design to final installation - excellent. WS&W initially designed my desired system. They analyzed my needs, desires, and location and completely redesigned a better system. Greater power, more flexibility, slightly lower price. They told me the installation could be done in a week. Not true - My complete system was up and running in three days. I would, and I do, recommend WS&W to anyone. Every one I have demonstrated my system to has been more than just impressed. GREAT JOB. Worth the price.
