Up and Running
I'm very satisfied with the process and the product. I've dealt with numerous contractors over thirty years, and Whidbey Sun and Wind is a very professional business. I needed a little clarification in some communications, but nothing caused me any grief. I would recommend this contractor to anyone.

Awesome
I agree with all of the other glowing reviews. We are COMPLETELY satisfied with our installation and support. We faced some challenges installing our system into a house built in 1906 and Whidbey Sun & Wind went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. Absolute Pros! I also recommend you check out the Community Energy Challenge to do an energy assessment.

Wonderful ground mount PV array installation
Working with Whidbey Sun & Wind was a great experience. Mark Anderson was our main contact and project manager. He was patient throughout the sales cycle, attentive to our needs, and thoughtful about the design of the system. He responded rapidly to any questions we had and came up with a very creative solution to the fence requirement for a ground mount system. He even came on-site when the installation started and helped dig! Adam and Kyle did the bulk of the installation and they did a great job. The did everything: manually trenching, building forms, constructing the ground mount, attaching the panels, and cleaning up. The array looks super! Golda, the electrician, worked wonders routing the power cable though our garage and hooking the array into our existing subpanel. And on top of that, the array is performing very well. We are very happy!

Solar Panels
The installation was absolutely fabulous, and we are so excited about becoming part of the solution to global warming. We needed to get the installation done quickly, and WS&W did everything to make that happen. They are so efficient! Paul Wilkerson was wonderful, so were the installers. We will have a "solar party" in about a month so our entire neighborhood can come learn about solar power. It's a pleasure to be able to write such a positive review; rare these days! Thanks again for everything!

Solar System for the ReinShadow Horse Arena-Greenbank
I built the horse arena in 2007 but at the time the costs did not seem to have a decent R.O.I. Reading a business article recently I realized how much the economics have changed, including the labor costs has come down for various reasons including efficiency of scale. The installation in Nov of 2014 was a very enjoyable experience, working with Whidbey Sun and Wind, especially Paul, was a pleasure. The installers to a person really were skilled and full of so much knowledge. I had so many questions surprised they did not kick me out of my own arena. AND at the end of the day watching the production meter just gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling! HIGHLY RECVOMMEND W.S.W. Jerry -Greenbank, WA

Totally Satisfied
An excellent experience and smooth install. We are building a home on Whidbey Island and Paul Dickerson came out to the property to assess whether we had proper exposure and to let us know what trees would impinge on the array. He even helped us site the house. He informed us of our various choices, and we went with a wholly Washington-made array and inverters. Nice to support the local economy as well as to benefit from the Washington State program that will now pay us for all the energy we make (regardless of how much we use to run our house.) Whidbey Sun and Wind worked with our architect on where the panels would be mounted, and they worked with our builder on timing the install. The array is large, but is barely noticeable. And it's already cranking away, despite the fact it's winter here in the Pacific Northwest! Great job. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Whidbey Sun & Wind to anyone!

Competent, Caring, and Efficient
A well developed plan which was coupled with a competitive bid was used to help us understand what would be happening if we had a system installed on our roof. Our biggest concern was impact on roof leaks. Turns out their system for attachment was fail proof. Once we decided to make the investment the team came in and got to work. They are a good group who work very well together and play by the rules to assure they meet building and electrical codes. They are all local folks who were raised on Whidbey and the local area. This firm has been on Whidbey for many years and has a solid reputation as straight shooting and professional.

installation and follow-up
After determining that our house and shop building were ideally located for an array of solar panels, we contacted WSW and went forward with the project. The entire project was professionally executed with-in three days, State inspector came within the week, and PSE was on site two days later, the installed the meters and we are now proud to tell our friends and neighbors that we have a system that we have dreamt of for years. We were very pleased with the entire process, except that the electrical inspector delayed the inspection by a week, which delayed the entire enterprise. The folks who did the installation were extremely professional and speedy. We are already obsessed with reading the meter every day to see how many kilowatt hours we have generated.

La Conner area home solar installation
Our neighbors had just finished an installation by Whidbey so I had talked to them about their experience. Staff provided detailed information about every aspect, and took all my questions and suggestions seriously. We only got bogged down in what kind of 10-year old metal roof we had and what kind of supports to use. I had to do some research and phoning on my own, but it all confirmed Whidbey's original educated guess. Paperwork and PSC meters all went in without fuss or delay. The online monitoring of our production is an excellent feature.

I could not be happier!
I wanted to put a large solar panel photovoltaic system on our house. I was recommended to use Whidbey Sun and Wind by a friend who had them put in a system about six years ago. I gave them a call and a young man named Mark Anderson came out. He did some measurements and took some siting information and then sat down and educated me on my options. He sent me a bid within a couple days. He was very friendly and quite knowledgeable and professional. I checked out the things he said and everything was as he told me. I called several other places and Whidbey's bid was as good or better. I stopped by their shop in Coupeville and signed a deal with them. They installed the system on time and were very professional about watching out for plants and putting the inverter and panel in the best spot for looks and function. I did feel bad for the installers since on the two days that they scheduled for installation, it was 22 degrees and blowing 40 mph out of the north. Worst weather of the winter but those guys were just awesome. They cleaned up everything and did a very professional job. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone considering a solar photovoltaic system for their home.

The right decision
Before deciding to install our solar system, we contacted several prospective contractors for proposals. Whidbey Sun & Wind (WSW) responded in a timely manner with a comprehensive proposal that was price-competitive. Before making the final decision, we had a few additional questions which were promptly and thoroughly answered. Based on a comparison of the systems proposed and their costs as offered by the various contractors, we selected WSW. We are extremely happy with that decision. Mark, the project manager, saw that the work was completed as scheduled and as specified. The installation crew - Adam, Golda & Kyle were personable, professional, and efficient in accomplishing their work. The entire team worked closely with us throughout the installation and start-up process, and we're very happy with the results. We're "up and running" now - watching the PSE meter "spin backwards". Surprisingly, we even see some production on cloudy, rainy days - and when the sun shines bright, wow! When you consider installing a residential solar system, we strongly recommend you consider Whidbey Sun & Wind.
