West Coast Solar

DO NOT DUE BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!They started an Installation for me on September 3 2024. The salesman Darrin Chamberlin said it should start in July. The work that you can see is top notch. The issue is they apparently did not install it to code. The city inspector came out and stated that the batteries need to be spaced 3 feet apart. At that point it seems that West Coast Solar has walked away from the job. Everything installed just incorrectly. I have contacted Bobby who told be he needed to look into this further since UL says these can be install closer together than 3 feet. I did my own research and found that NFPA 855 states they have to be at least 3 feet apart. I did talk with Melissa Mena who has been basically worthless. She gave me a number to call that seems to never be answered. So now I have to look into legal remedies. I am looking to see if I can find any criminal intent so I can bypass mediation. Otherwise it looks like I am going to have to file a claim with the CA Contractors State Licensing Board. I probably have to find someone else to come in and bring the installation up to code. All of this because I wanted to stay with a local company.

My experience with West Coast Solar couldn’t have been better! Everyone I talked with was polite, courteous and helpful and the technicians who installed the system worked diligently, quietly and efficiently. I am thrilled to be able to use solar power for all of my energy needs now. I would most certainly recommend West Coast Solar to anyone in search of a solar company.

If I could give West Coast Solar zero stars I would. We purchased solar in 2018. The salesman was RYAN O***, and he screwed us out of $27,000. He sat on our couch and 100% assured us that our solar loan was transferrable with the sale of our house, or that we could have our solar moved to our new house. Well that was a lie. We are NOT able to transfer the solar loan with the sale of our house. We have to outright buy the system in order to sell our house. Not only did he entrap us, but my brother as well. RYAN O*** sold my brother the same lies. Never trust a company that will employ someone, who after being invited into your home, sit on your couch, and sell you lies. I'm disgusted by this company.

From the moment we got the quote from Ryan, until the system was installed, West Coast Solar was wonderful. We could not be happier with their service, the quality of our system, and the on-going follow-up and check-ins. Highly recommend this solar company!

Pleasant salesman and staff to address any questions or problems I had.

Sales was straight forward and honest. No pressure sales pitch. Installation was fast and easy; very professional. Questions were answered quickly. Full turnkey experience from sales to cut over. Pricing was very reasonable and competitive.

I have only recieved 1 bill so far, since the installation, but it was about $100 less than before, but it was only online for 2 weeks. This is not the time of year to get lots of sun, so its at its minimum. Just for kicks I look at the meter everyday for last 2-3 weeks and am amazed to watch the reading go down everyday when theres little sun.

I am happy with all aspects of West Coast Solar. The salesman was the best of the people that we got quotes from. The equipment and installation was first rate and when we had a small problem with the system they quickly corrected the the problem.

I was very impressed with Sales support provide in securing financing, Minor hiccup with building inspector requesting an additional shut off switch. The power provided matches what was projected

Elvin and the whole West Costa Solar team were very involved with us from beginning to current. They make the whole process of purchasing and installing and even training you on how to use solar and how to read your energy statement. Elvin even checks in with you many times after installation.

Salesman was knowledgeable in answering questions. Installation was completed in 1 day. 1 problem has occurred in the nearly 3 years we have had the system and they notified me of the problem and fixed it in a reasonable time frame. Overall felt the company is very professional in the way the operate.

West Coast Solar is absolutely a top notch company! From the sales rep Darren to the home site tech to the installers, we could not of asked for a better company to install solar for us. WCS has an excellent work ethic and wonderful customer service which is so rare these days. Everyone we dealt with was very professional, genuinely polite and actually were happy to be working with such a good company! It took very little time between our initial meeting with Darren until install day. No other solar company we spoke with could even come close to WCS. This is a very well run company with employees that actually know their jobs and have excellent work ethics. Install day was could not of been smoother. The installers worked so well together, were efficient and safety on install day was also a priority not only for the crew, but also for the homeowners, passerbyers to even the family pets. We are very happy costumers! We could not of asked for a better experience!

We couldn't be happier with the information we received up front to make the decision to go solar. The customer service was on point and schedule was quick. If you have questions before going solar I recommend West Coast Solar to feel comfortable making the investment in solar energy. You won't be disappointed.

Lets face it, there are more solar companies than car dealers. But product and service are important. I interviewed over 20 Solar companies to get the best deal. West Coast Solar had the best price and the best warranty for a straight up purchase with lifetime monitoring and a 25 year warranty vs almost every other competitor offering ony a 20 year warranty. Their estimate was spot on including my tax rebate. Installation was great and pretty much on schedule. Proactive support has corrected a couple of issues without any action from me.

It has been a year since rooftop solar system was installed. I have no leaks in roof which was a concern. yeah! but time will tell right. My first true up bill is coming and it was less than $100 so great job on design and estimation of my energy use. Salesman Brad was very helpful and made sure I was informed of the process. The two Installers were Amazing!!! They installed 35 solar panels on my roof and inverter on side of house and was all working in one day and they even took lunch. I am an older electrician and was very impressed with their work, fast, clean, neat, efficient, courteous. They have done this before. LOL. I would hire them absolutely. I hope these panels last as advertised and my roof has no problems, so far so good. Everything from financing to install was delivered as promised. Thanks West coast Solar!!

From our initial consultation with Ryan thru going live, we could not be happier with the entire project. The installation was first rate and every contact at West Coast truly seemed to want to help. Great customer service coupled with a great product. West Coast exceeded our expectations.

The sales representative was very friendly, thorough and informative. As I got 5 estimates, I gathered more knowledge of how the systems worked and the components. So, I continued to ask more specific questions to help make my decision and the sales representative was patient and was able to answer all my questions completely. The installation was timely and as scheduled. The installer was very friendly, courteous and answered all my questions. After the installation while waiting for the PTO (permission to operate) I felt that West Coast Solar could have done a better job of keeping me informed as to the status of the process. I was not contacted or informed of what was going on until I contacted them. However, once I made contact they were very helpful and helped me through setting up the monitoring system and how to use it.

Our salesperson, Mark McBride was awesome. He explained the entire process, financing options and even suggestions on how to get best results. The installers showed up as scheduled, explained the installation and even repaired/replaced some broken roof tiles (they are sister of a roofing company). Once installed, we were shown how to view the system performance both at the box located in our garage as well as using the smart phone and computer applications. The whole process went smoothly with good communications from their office.

Overall, we had a great experience with West Coast Solar. Doug, the representative who handled the sales portion and any issue that came up, was fabulous. Had a very mistakes or problems with the ground mount installation, but West Coast corrected all the issues.

I am very pleased with out come .West coast solar was very easy to work with, did what they said they would do ,no hidden charges ,on time ,very professional .I wish all companies worked this way .And the price for the work was reasonable .Thank you guys .

We had our panels installed in Nov. 2017 It was the best decision we made. Our salesman, Ryan Ogen was amazing! In no way was he your typical "Salesman". He was easy to work with, answered all of our questions and did not pressure us with constant emails or phone calls. We purchased our panels from West Coast Solar through Mosaic. The financing was so easy and simple. West Coast installed our panels in 1 day. My last 2 months of PG&E electricity bills totaled $20.05, and it's winter time, so I can't wait to see how we fair during the summer months! West Coast Solar does all the necessary paper work for PGE, Permits, etc. I can't say enough about them. I highly recommend them!

The installation by West Coast Solar was fast and professional. The installers were very concerned and aware of my property and took extra care to be protective of it. The were willing to help me move items in my garage that needed to be moved and they cleaned up afterwards. They were very friendly and a pleasure to have them at my home. The installer, Ben, was very knowledgeable , friendly, and took time to explain the process and answered all my questions. The salesman, Troy, was very professional and answered all my questions and was instrumental in my decision to move ahead with the solar installation. All the other West Coast employees were also very friendly and professional.

My wife and I wanted to work with one turn-key contractor, not deal with the headache of subs. We had a re-roof installation, PV Solar, and Pool Solar installation. Having close friends in the industry, they recommended West Coast Solar to meet our needs. Mike Kleeman came out, and in a very professional, no pressure educational manner, discussed what they could do for us as a sole source, design-build contractor to meet our every need. Their price was extremely competitive, their referrals were truly satisfied customers, and we couldn't be happier. Clean installation, on-time, in budget, no surprises and great customer service with excellent documentation along the entire process. Mike was very responsive and the experience was entirely positive.

We got several solar bids last year and West Coast Solar was by far the most cost effective and provided 100% solar coverage. Ryan O is very knowledgeable and was great to work with. Our PG&E bills were $400 - $500 per month and going up with PG&E rates increases. The installation went well and we're saving money!

It's my pleasure picked West Coast Solar. All teams worked seamlessly from quotation to final inspection in professional way. No hiding stuff at all. They did as they said. My family are happy with the system since it connected to grid. The only small back was the tight resource of inspection which took longer time than I expected.

My wife and I conducted a lot of homework before investing in a solar plan for our house. We met with several solar installation companies, read reviews, talked to friend and family etc. When we connected with West Coast Solar, they were obviously the right choice from the beginning. West Coast Solar personnel were experienced and friendly. They were very fast installing the system. Checked the panels and when they had to come back - we upgraded the system they always let us know when and how long they would be. Minimal disruption to they household.

While having the solar system is great. I regret not doing more research and making a better deal for myself.

I had talked to two or three companies regarding solar power. I found the people at West Coast were the most friendly, cooperative, upfront regarding all options. They are local and assisted with the construction of my home (different branch ?) I enjoy under $10 PG&E bills all summer and considered buying all electric heaters for the winter but decided against it. I will live with the heating bills.

All West coast solar staff members had complete product. They walked me through the process answering all my questions honestly and they educated me to the importance of Solar power. I would highly recommend West coast solar to all my friends and family.

Everyone at West Coast Solar was professional and helpful from the sales person to the installers. There was a slight delay in getting signage up on the electric meter, but in the end all has been completed within 6 weeks.

Great company! The install of my solar couldn't of gone any easier. They installed when they said they would. I had 1 problem about 4 months after my install. I recorded a call from them that my system seemed to be not producing any power. Come to find out that my monitoring device got unplugged by my kids. Easy fix! The entire team at West Coast Solar is OUTSTANDING!

Explained all our options. Install was quick, easy, and professional. Saving money...Couldn't be happier.

These guys did an excellent job installing my system in 2 days. We had a mechanical failure shortly after install and West Coast replaced the part and all is well. I couldn't be happier after my first summer of Solar!! Thanks West Coast!!!

We just reached our one year true up period, and we paid $0.27 for electricity for the year. We are very happy with how our system operates. Our installation was very difficult, and complicated as we have an old tile roof. We also had to place panels on any number of areas to get the necessary 30 panels in place. West Coast Solar went the extra mile to make sure our roof was tight when all was done, a very high recommendation for West Coast Solar.

They were great. They also gave me extra information on my roof and made sure the roof section under the system was good enough to last the systems expected life span.

No more worries about my electric use and future costs.

Excellent people and excellent installation

the Solar lease program was described as a completely different program then what we thought we are signing up for. We now have a lease that we can't get out of it doesn't produce enough solar to pay my PG&E bill so now I am paying PG&E $2400 a year Plus paying the solar company on the lease program. I was told that at my Solar bill would almost cover all my out-of-pocket expense for electrical. So far from the truth and now I'm told I am stuck in this lease for a minimum at six years before I can negotiate out. I feel that this was a bait and switch. I would love for somebody to research this and contact me. I explain this to my salesman and he did nothing. Greg B.

We had a wonderful experience with West Coast Solar. We had a knowledgeable but not overly pushy salesperson in Doug and a thorough installer with Saul and his team. Everyone we worked with was friendly and professional. I rave about them to anyone that asks about solar.

West Coast Solar installed our residential solar system, designed by John Walter of Repower Yolo, in the summer of 2014. The installation on our concrete tile roof was excellent and the solar cells have performed flawlessly for the past year. We highly recommend West Coast Solar for the installation of solar cells, even on delicate roofs, and John Walter for the exceptional design of appropriate systems. We have saved about $6000 on our PG&E electricity bills over the past year.

The process was pretty easy. The sales person was quite was able to explain and answer all my questions. The installation was fine and the supervisor was great. But the follow up was horrible. I called with questions several times and no one could answer my questions or help me in any way. The meter quit working and I still don't know how to read the new one. I asked to have someone stop by and made an appointment but no one ever came. When I called he said he forgot. It's been over a year and no one has ever gotten back to me.
