Review on Venture Solar
The Venture Solar installation crew showed up when they were scheduled and completed the job within the scheduled timeframe. They had 6+ people, all were very polite and considerate. I had concerns of potential ice issues where electrical conduits ran across roof joint valleys and the team added additional bracing for those areas. They truly did an outstanding job. They have a very high risk job, but did every task and took every step with care and consideration for each other’s safety. After the job was complete, they talked to me about the installation, what to expect for taking care of the system, what would I need to consider if I wanted to expand it further or attach a battery backup system and if I could still use my generator when power is lost… this was one of the best contractor teams I have ever worked with. They did an outstanding job!

Happily Solar
After a lot of apprehension to going solar, I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I spoke with several representatives from different companies and decided on Venture. I was happy with the work done and the end results of a practically non-existent electric bill. I have only given 4 stars because I have not yet had any problems and have not had to deal with customer service or repair. I will give the last star if the need for power/problem resolution occurs and the total experience is satisfactory.

Outstanding company
The installation for the solar panels on our roof went so smoothly. The group of installers and electricians were friendly, informative and neat. Thank you for a day worth waiting for!

Solar panels
When we first sat down to talk about installing the solar panels, we discussed our bill, as far as the panels knocking down our cost for electric. We were told our bill would be knocked down to almost zero, not including the hookup charge to the electric company. We are paying almost half of what we originally were paying. So we aren’t happy with the outcome.

Great Solar Installation experience
Venture Solar did a great job of coming up with a solar proposal that will help me to offset my high electricity demand. I though the upfront sales proposal was well done and great at educating me on the options I had. I thought the installation process was great, their team was exceptional at building and setting up a great system that looked great. They also responded quickly to installation fixes when Avon inspector found a few minor issues. Communication during some of the longer waiting periods and setting expectations with the frustrations that our local electricity company Eversource has would be the only place I think they can improve. They are not responsible for Eversource dragging their feet and having absolutely no communication channels, but I think there were opportunities to be more proactive, which could have resulted in the project being completed sooner.

Avoid
Not only was the installation process delayed, the bill three times what was promised, the equipment installed either bad or destroyed by Venture electricians, the company non responsive to requests for information, but the company’s representative was continuously nasty and abusive about the process. I generally do not leave negative reviews, and was asked to wait by the bank, which I did, but in addition to providing information counter to Venture’s fraudulent sales pitch, they claim to have encouraged Venture to respond to my emails. Unfortunately it took weeks and weeks for them to answer the bank. 1) my bill is three times what was promised, and yes in writing via text, and after I received it, despite claiming to be experts on solar in NY they claim that they were unaware of NY’s Solar fee structure. My power company says that is extremely unlikely. 2) their sales person provided a quote if financial savings over time from the bank’s analyst. They have refused to answer as to the source and the bank sent me a letter after my request saying they do not and did not provide Venture with any such information. 3) their site assessment took a month to complete—despite being told that it was complete by sales and having left multiple voice mails and emails that went unanswered. This was also the beginning of abusive language. Instead of actually looking into it, I was told to “chill out” I just didn’t understand their process or that the system generated automatic emails, and I was just being negative. 4) they promised a one day installation. The installation took 6 visits over 6 weeks. All that time, since they fraudulently reported to the bank that the system was fully installed and operational, I acquired almost $800 in interest. The entire time the sales contact was abusive to the point that I warned them if it happened again I would leave negative feedback. 5) their installation team rushed home to beat traffic by 2:30pm both initial visits. They did not run diagnostics but reported the system as operational. Which it was not. 6) their initial electricians on their 4th visit were back on my roof after a month of claiming they were finished to the bank. I have no idea what they did, because the company will not inform me. The only thing I know for sure is that they made things worse. Rather than running a diagnostic they went in and reversed the wiring from the inverter to my box nonsensically and incompetently. This was according to their senior electrician who was the only professional among them. I sent them a letter complimenting him, that he saved them from negative feedback, but warning that if they allowed their salesman to be abusive to me one more time I would leave negative feedback. 7) Venture has blamed Tesla equipment for the issues, their first electrician saying it was difficult to install and finicky. The salesperson claiming that a weak Wi-Fi signal will cause it to malfunction. That if you turn off the switch you will cause it to blow (it needs to be turned off for any electrician to work on box or to reset system according to Tesla.) They also blamed the power company representative for destroying their equipment when he came to turn net metering. I have an open complaint to Tesla with questions regarding their products and I am waiting. I was told by one Tesla customer service rep that they were not, as claimed by the company, connected to Tesla but merely vendors. So if you want Tesla products I would not buy through this company. They are not partners nor representatives of Tesla, and it will be a headache getting information from Tesla. 8) the entire time their representative was abusive and full of misinformation—the state requires two PTOs which is why the system isn’t functioning is just one example 9) they did pay my first loan installment due to the system not functioning despite being reported as such, but that was just under $500 when thanks to their poor installation being reported as completed and a follow up in which they told the bank it was operational it cost me just under $800 in interest not to mention my bill is triple what they promised. 10) do not trust the word of the owner if he calls you and says he gives you his word it will be completed. Not only was that visit canceled but that was at the beginning. Their sales person literally challenged me to leave negative feedback because he will respond how much I love my system. I do love solar. I do love my system, it is a shame I have to leave this feedback, but the company has refused to contact me for months and has cost me money. The only contact I received was from their post activation specialist asking me to please leave feedback with this link. So I am. So I would say get Solar but be careful from whom you buy.

My experiance
The sales experience was great no hi pressure and our sales rep Morgan was really informative and knowledgeable in helping us make the decision. The install was also very good smooth and seamless. The installers where very knowledgeable and did a great job. BUT after the install we were forgotten no follow up. I tried to contact to add more panels. We do no believe that we are going to have enough to make through the winter months. Also we have made 3 referrals that have been documented in the venture app. We have received the compensation for one because they install solar. The other 2 were deemed not good fits for venture solar. But still we never received the promised $50. for us referring. In wrapping up I would like to say I am happy with the install but not so with the lack of response to my inquiries.

wish I had installed solar years ago
I gave 5 stars across the board to Venture Solar and they deserve it! Our salesman, Craig, was very informative and answered all our questions honestly and completely. By the end of the sales process we were well informed, and convinced that installing solar equipment was to our benefit. The schedule and installation process took a few months, but there was a lot for them to make ready, including working with us to have a new, high quality, roof put down. After two months of $0 utility company costs (including A/C) we will finally start paying off our lease at the original agreed upon cost. The solar lease cost will increase our electric cost slightly in winter, but drastically lower them during the warm/hot months. Whether you choose a lease or pay the costs upfront you will appreciate the detailed and methodical installation process provided by Venture Solar. As an added benefit, our utility company provided an energy audit of our house and at a minimal fee arranged for our attic and basement fully insulated.

Quality and transparency
If you want a local company that is highly reputable, look no further. This company did the job right at the right price. They have a more personable approach to solar. Low pressure and very educational!
