DO NOT USE! HARD LESSON TO LEARN.

Warning- do not do business with this company. The salesman was very nice and the deal seemed too good to be true! Shortly after the install, we had a roof leak. They did fix it but the damage was done inside. It was minor damage but the salesman made it seem like it was our fault! The panels, even on the back of the house, were a turn-off to potential buyers when we listed our house. Our sale nearly fell through as a result of them. Wish we thought of this prior to getting them but we didn't foresee moving. Lastly, even though we filled out all of the proper transfer paperwork and submitted it, they continued to bill us even after we sold our home. We actually had to go to the bank and put a "stop" on any drafts coming our of our account for this awful company. They came crying for their money soon after and we mailed a check instead. Don't get me wrong, the cost-savings are great. However, it is not worth the headaches and lack of control. You forfeit litigation and agree to use their mediators when issues arise. Never again will I forfeit that right.

Beware of their false promises

I have had my system for 2 years. The installation was a nightmare. While I have really enjoyed the electric bills my system stopped working after 2 years. Getting them to come out and fix the system- another nightmare. Now I am trying to get the refund they promised me 2 months ago. Good luck... I have spent over 2 hours on hold. They do not answer phone calls. I love having the solar- I wish I had gone with a different company

Vivint and fleet performance which is vivint also worst customer

I had my solar panels installed over two years ago when they were installed the installers which was Fleet performance they kept missing the beams on my carport causing holes in my roof and leakage finally after 2 months and inspector came out and they reviewed it and found out it was their fault and they paid to get my roof done now I am trying to get an overhang over my deck and I needed Fleet performance to remove only three panels out of 52 they gave me a quote of $499 I called them and said that was an outrage because you want $499 to take off 52 panels now after one month they were supposed to review it and get me a lesser price I was supposed to start construction yesterday and today they get back to me with a price after 15 hours of phone calls all documented they came up with a bargain price of $499 I called them back said it was an outrage why would you charge me $499 to take with only three panels for one week's time they told me they review it every Wednesday and mine came up for review and this is what they came up with so to do this I have to pay them $499 or cancel my construction gee I think I'm going to cancel my Construction but not without writing a review on every review site that I can have help or their customer service is and how unfair their pricing is

Worst Customer Service ever

I had to give a number that don't even deserve a 1 star more like - 100. I sold my house the first part of Feb. Real estate agent said she had all the paperwork for transfer. A month later I had to send it to them again. Now I am still getting bills. I was told I needed to talk to a Work Out Team that it has been under review for the last couple of months. I was on hold for 38 minutes and then 49 minutes both times it was disconnected. But the icing on the cake was I called back and was on hold for 5 hours and 5 minutes. When it hit 7 PM they're time the phone was disconnected AGAIN. Using this company in the first place was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. No body knows nothing and it always has to go to another department that you have difficulty reaching like last night. If you haven't signed up with them and are thinking about DON'T!!!!

STOP! JUST DONT!

Vivint suck! They won't even comply with their own contract. Stay away. On their contract it says that they have a maximum of 30 days to remove the panels for re-shingling. If they don't show up you can write them a notice about it and if they don't do anything for another 30 days then you can terminate(cancel due to Vivint default). I called to terminate and the person that I talked to was rude and she kept insisting that I talked to the installers even though I called to cancel my contract. DO NOT TRUST THIS GUYS.

I see nothing has changed

We too had the same problems with installation. Panels went up immediately so they could get the tax rebate. But, then it took close to a year for completion. Solar has dramatically decreased our electric bill. But my advice is to find another company.

Really bad customer service

Took 6 months & 3 failed inspections to get my solar on. Last 2 inspection nothing was fix. Inspector noted they will start charging to come out. During the instillation they left my gate open & my dog got out. Also was told my dad would get a referral bonus for me signing up. I had to email everyone under the sun every day for a month just to get an answer. I also called but got the run around.

Crap Company

Let me start by saying Vivint Solar should be put out of business!! Their salesmen LIE, their costumer service sucks to say the least. They charge you even though their panels aren't producing anything because they are broke. They need two people to come fix them oh and they can't find two people to be here at the same time. So in the mean time my panels produce 56kw of power in a month and they charge me for 735kw and PG&E provides the 650kw of power I needed that I will pay for as well. I am so mad at this company I could spit fire. Oh almost forgot, I will bad mouth this company anywhere and anyplace I can until they get their crap off my roof!!

Going with this company was a big mistake. Doing a PPA with them was even worse. Terrible customer service. The system they installed was to small. I had a huge true up bill with my local utility company. Now Vivent is giving me the run around. My original salesperson won't call me back either. He only texts me . WTF !!!! Buy ur system and do NOT go with Vivent

Not so green

Installers came and installed panels to my parents 2 story home. They left metal shards, plastic curly fries, copper wiring and fast food containers all over their driveway. They also spit sunflower seeds into my parents flower bed. They brought more worker's than were probably needed (judging by the amount just standing around playing on their phones). So, why could they not clean up their mess?

Didn't save! Horrible service! LIARS!

They will promise you the world to get these panels on your roof. Do not believe a word they tell you and get them out of your house! They prey on innocent victims who actually believe them. They do not save you anywhere near 50% or whatever number they're spewing at you. You are better off buying panels from a legitimate company, not getting taken advantage of by these phonies!

Lies, Lies, and Terrible Service

BEWARE of this company!!! This is NOT an ethical or legit company. My parents asked me to write this review, so others will be aware of their terrible experience. Today they contacted the Attorney General's Office to file an official complaint. My parents went through numerous problems getting the solar installed. They had them installed a LONG time ago, and they are still not functional. I read online that many other people had the same horrible experience. They've sent multiple technicians out to the house, but no one is capable of actually fixing the problem. They called customer service tonight and were told that they'll help them when they can, but so far, no one is available. Meanwhile, the company is trying to charge them $58 for the RENT on these solar panels that don't even work!!! BEWARE! What a scam. It's terrible that they are preying on people like this. Shame.

Customer Service

i had a lovely nest of squirrels that took up residence under my panels. I called Vivint to see what they could do to help with the removal and to see about having some type of wiring put around the panels. Nothing they are doing nothing so as far as I am concerned the next family of squirrels can eat the wires. Also I am not seeing any reduction in my electric bill in fact I am paying more.

Horrible company!!

Came out in mid-December to install panels and now its May and still no service. We've had numerous reps come out to check system. Had the worst customer rep. She never answers or returns calls. Now we're going to remodel and they want to charge us $499 to take them down and store them while still paying for their service. Too many loopholes in their contract. Horrible, horrible company.

Installation was the ONLY good part

Sales and installment were the only things that went right from this company. After our initial consultation in July the solar panels were installed about 3 weeks later. We were told that due to inspections the panels would not be activated until Decemeber. Well here were are in April of the following year and we still don't have functional solar pannels. We have had multiple "inspections" from vivant themselves which involves me taking a day off of work so they can look at my breaker box for all of 3 minutes. This has happened 4 times. Still no county inspection or final approval for the solar panels to be turned on after 10 months is pretty pathetic. Most of my development went with Vivant around the same time. No one has functional panels yet.

Billing

The original sales process was excellent. I had no problem with Vivint while i owned my house. However, when I decided to sell, I contracted Vivint to go through the process of transferring the power purchase agreement to the new homeowners. Vivint indicated that it would be a seamless process. However, it has become a nightmare. They have been billing me 4 months after selling my home. They have not done any follow up with the new homeowners in spite of me e-mailing and calling them. They said they would send their sales rep to complete the process and never did. Once they have you set up for billing, they do not care, you become lost in their computer system.

Beware of ridiculous depreciation schedules for early terminatio

THINKING OF GETTING A "NO UPFRONT COST" HOME SOLAR SYSTEM - BEWARE!!!!! (PLEASE SHARE) Scenario - you've entered into a 20 year contract for a home solar system (in our case we went with Vivint Solar). 10 years later you decide to sell your house and the new homeowner doesn't want the Vivint Solar system. What now????? What we were told by the salesperson (Tad) was that Vivint would uninstall the system with no further obligation to us!!!! NOT TRUE What I found out: In this scenario we would be charged a prorated price to buyout the contract (price of the system). Now I could have installed the system and paid for it myself for about $25K; back out the tax credits and the costs would have even been less. However we didn't want to put this money out to buy the system our selves. Below is the price chart from Vivint Solar to buyout the contract. As you can see in this scenario the cost at year 10 would be $32,379.69 to us!!!!! Before signing any contract with a "No Cost" Solar company such as Vivint Solar - ask for the depreciation buyout cost since most of us won't be in our house for the life of the contract. (I know - shame on me for not reading the contract and taking the word of a salesperson like this!!!)

Worst customer service experience ever. It took 7 months to get the panels installed. 3 years later I had them removed to re-roof my house and it has been a nightmare, missed appointments, staying home form work and no one shows up. I have even called to confirm appointments the day before and they still did not show up the next day. Stay away from this company, tons of empty promises.

Poor service and Poor Quality of Work

I made the mistake of allowing Vivint Solar to install panels on my roof over a year ago. To this day i still can not turn them on. I was told by one of their reps that the county is the problem in passing inspections on my system so i reached out. Turns out even the county thinks their work is not up to snuff and told me that vivint has a long history of installing systems that are not up to code. Now they want to charge me thousands to get it off my roof!! I tell everyone i know not to go with vivint solar and wish i had known better when they knocked on my door. Do not fall for it!

Very disappointed

We signed a year ago, panels installed in May 2015. I was almost hit by a bracket they threw off the roof! Some transformer work had to be done by the power company and was completed 6 months ago. I hadn't heard from them since December 2015 so I reached out to the saleman who signed us on to find out my service clerk no longer worked there. The new rep tells me they are waiting for the transformer work to be completed......the last email they told me I could check with the power company.

Fraud - Stay away

I cannot believe that I have write this post, but here it is. Vivint showed up to our house while it was canvassing the neightborhood. Jordan Bagwell, the sales rep was quite nice. He explained the process and we asked very pointed questions: "what if we sell?" Answer, no cost, we just show up and take them away. "what if we remodel" No worries, for $500, we take the panels down and put them back up. After waiting nearly 8 months to get the system turned on, we decided to sell our house. It was only then that we learned there was lien on the house and to have the panels removed would cost $24,000. When we asked where that was in the contract we signed, we were shown a secondary document that wasn't signed, and never shown to my wife that had this language buried in it. Turns out that Jordan Bagwell sat at our dining room table and lied to us to induce my wife signing the contract, he also neglected to show this very important document. Do not, under any circumstances use vivint.
