Microinverters switchout

I contacted sunpro to change out 2 microinverters because mine went out. They had ruben out to fix my microinverters within 24 hours of contacting them. Ruben was very professional and took care of the problem very quickly. I have switch over to sunpro to maintain my panels from know on. If you use them for any of there services request ruben he's a great technician.

Installation nightmare

Sadly as I read these reviews I only share in 1 experience and that was how horrible the process has been with Sunpro. I had my panels installed and then no contact from Sunpro. The only way we did get contact was by calling 2 to 3 times a day for 3 weeks. We failed 9 inspections and it took over 6 months to pass an inspection. The process was simply horrible! The only way to get someone out was to threaten to bring a lawyer into the equation and really who wants to do that with a company that is supposed to back not only their service, but product. We spoke to the higher ups and we spoke to regional all with promises of having the system up and running. The only promise they kept was to have the system up, which I was paying on long before the system worked. Now, again no contact and no kept promises. I wish when the regional manager was at my house to make sure it passes inspection I had told him to just take the whole system with him when he went.

Great product, deceitful sales, nonexistent support

HIGHS: Install techs and energy pro tech (Sean) were customer-centric. It was great to hear them talk about the company and the confidence they had in their product. The techs were respectful of the property and neighbors. I felt valued talking with the techs about questions I had about the product. Install was clean and app is very user friendly LOWS: Salesman not knowing product and relaying false information Salesman not knowing the actual timeline of the process relaying false information Sales manager not knowing the actual timeline of the process relaying false information Errors within the control of the company that caused 2 months of delays Account manager that doesn’t respond within 24 hours regarding consistent issues Account manager that isn’t proactive regarding issues that arise. (“hey, just saw the email, this is what we’re doing to fix it”) not wait for the customer to reach out. Final thoughts: Have salesman that are educated on all products and can answer all questions correctly and confidently now we have been put in an incredibly difficult position due to the lack of communication and deceitful tactics of sunpro we are going from $130 a month, not to $194 like we were told by our salesman and shown on our contract. No, now we will be paying $500+ a month due to no longer being eligible for the plan we were on with NVEnergy and having to pay the solar loan until the utility credit is applied in 4-6 months. Have customer centric minded support staff. in my instance, the sales/account team are hindering the growth of the company. I would not refer sunpro to anyone due to the simple fact I would not want anyone to go through what I did. I truly feel like I spent 50K on an investment and it is an inconvenience for sunpro to email me. I scrubbed my social media and had to edit my reviews that I had written. I feel embarrassed when asked about my experience because I told so many of my friends and relatives about going with sunpro in the beginning. While the product itself is great thus far, the customer support is incredibly unsatisfactory. This was a project my wife and I were so excited for and then piece by piece it got less and less exciting. Communication is key with every business, it is severely lacking at sunpro.

Good Product - Excellent Installation

The Sunpro Solar team did an excellent job installing our solar. They were thorough and diligent. In running the wires from the roof panels down to our garage and out to the main panel, their work was very clean. There are no loose wires on the roof or down the side of the house. They did it all in one long day. The major delay has been the time to get the final inspect for the system. Not sure if this is a Sunpro communication issue or a backup with the local inspectors.

The Sunpro team is fantastic to work with. Polite and professional. If you are interested in going solar, this is the company to go with!

Have had solar for 3 years and works great. Looking forward to now having the batteries to augment the electric power.

Very Professional

I was impressed with Solar Pro's professionalism. From the sales to the permitting, to the installation and final support getting the system online. Everything went smoothly and my meter is running backwards! Very happy on how the whole process unfolded.

Slow reimbursement

So far the only problem I have had is getting reimbursed for my loan payments that had to be made before I got permission to operate. I was patient about installation knowing permits and inspections take time but still waiting for reimbursement checks. Other than that installation crew was very friendly and once was all inspections had been completed it only took them 1 day to install our ground mount panels. Did have a problem with 1 panel but they got that fixed very fast only took 2 days. Overall very satisfied with everything working really good just wish the accounting department could be as good as everyone else has been. Hopefully check is really in the mail and will arrive soon , first payment made end of January and it is now almost end of March. Once again I would like to say how courteous all of the installation crew and technicians have been . Give all of them many thanks for answering any and all of my questions and going out of their way to get us up and running. They are the best.

9 months and still waiting

I apologize this is lengthy but consumer beware. I gave 1 star because you can't give zero. First i want to say that the crews that came to our house were nice & friendly but thats where it ends. These people do not communicate with the customer or each other. They also brag about the owners personal phone number being on the welcome card and you can contact him personally anytime, this is a lie, there is a number on the card which i have called & txt several times, no one answers and never got a response. This company is terrible, signed paperwork in May of 2021, now it's March 2022 and we are paying for a system that is still incomplete. We were told installation would begin 30 to 45 days after signing and that it would be a 1 day install because our setup was "simple". A little over 90 days later the installation started but only after I made few calls, and was given the excuse of scheduling mistakes and heavy workload. Then the 1 day installation was the panels only. By the way the reason they put the panels up on day 1 is so they can tell the loan company that the job is complete so they start getting paid, also once the loan company starts payments your stuck. I contacted the loan company Mosaic that sunpro setup by the way, and explained that the job was barely started & far from complete. Mosaic said because the last payment had not been made they would hold it until I notified them that the job was completed, this also did not happen. Back to the install, it was a little over a month before the trenching crew made it out to do there part of the install again after I made a few calls. Finally everything is installed just waiting for it to be commissioned, get tired of waiting and make another call. They emailed the start up instructions to me to have me turn everything on which is against thier policy. I followed the instructions and a few weeks later was having problems so I called again, they sent an electrician and a tech support out. They both agreed that I should not have been the one to turn the system on and because there was no wifi connection the components could not communicate and burned up a $15k to $20k battery that they had to replace. Because we are in a rural area we were on a Hotspot but the system will not operate on a hot spot. To sunpros credit they have offered to set us up with starlink and pay for 2 years service, problem is starlink is not supposed to be available in our area until the end of 2022. So we are still waiting and getting no communication.

Wish I went with another company

Terrible communication. People are nice, good customer service isn't a real option it seems. They just send people to your home with zero communication, notice or scheduling. First crew that installed my panels didn't paint them, left brackets, nuts, bolts, zip ties and wires all over my roof. Several of those items fell and could of hit my child or pet on their head. They smoked weed on my property inside the Penske truck that transported my panels here. Panels were installed the day before the Superbowl and I didn't hear from anyone until a month later when a guy rang my doorbell. I would not recommend. My next home I will not use Sunpro for anything.

Issues Resolved

We have had our system for right at 2 years and have had issues previously and just recently that needed to be discussed and resolved. We reached out both times to Ashley Moore who took our issues to upper mgmt. and came up with a mutually agreed upon resolution on both instances. We appreciate her advocacy on our behalf and getting the issues handles in a timely manner...

Going solar with SUNPRO

Peter, our sales representative was very informative and cordial. No pressure. He designed a system specific for our home and showed us the $ savings over time. Two weeks after our initial meeting the installation teams came to our home. They were professional, efficient and courteous. And they got the installation done in one afternoon. Now we await final inspection and permission to go live with solar. The 25 year warranty is amazing and gives us peace of mind.

Miscommunication

I have tried and tried with this company. This is my second review on this company. After my last post I finally received a call from a representative named Gage. He called stating that now they are complete with my installation can he mark the job as completed. Seriously I have been emailing this guy for 2/3 months with no reply, emailing calling texting the " lead" named Cheryl and no replies, and last they just had to rewire my wirings the week before of only a month of install..... But they want me to agree that the job is complete? Then Gage tries to get me to delete my previous review, and then tries to "compensate" me with $400 (I made a 40k investment and you offer me $400 to remove a review). Not to to mention I requested compensation of a battery(that you offer for free)worth 20K, and you counter offer me with $400. This company is a joke, and the only reason I'm with this company is because they put the panels on my house for four months INACTIVE. When I made a review then mysteriously what I have been waiting for 8 months of activation is "COMPLETE" in two weeks, because I requested your company to remove the panels and I could go with another company. This company is all LIES from their employees to the company. They will call and feed you all the good you want to hear, but try and reach them back. Everyone from my salesman James, to Gage, and to Cheryl the LEAD they are a joke, and only care about locking you in to their company.

SunPro panel installers and electricians were professionals at installation. Everything looks great. Still waiting to be inspected, meter installed, and everything to be wrapped etc. but so far so good.

A company that provides fast, no hassle utility freedom

From initial consult to Permission To Operate was just shy of three weeks. No stress, no haggling, no stiff-armed salesmen. Honest and accurate assessment of our homes solar potential, calculated methods to improve our efficiency in the home, with a courteous (and QUICK by George) installation. Follow-up calls to see how we're doing, assistance in setting up remote monitoring, quick answers to all questions and a responsive team, from sales/consulting all the way through to the project management team. The only thing I am not pleased with is that I don't have another home to put solar on... otherwise I would be working with SunPro again.

So happy I went solar!

I honestly never thought I would go solar. But one day while on a social media website in late January 2022, I followed an advertisement link, and what do you know I was set up for a phone call consultation/quote with a company out of state. So with one quote in my pocket and a 3-day time frame to make a decision, I saw Sunpro Solar as I was driving home from St. Louis and decided to stop in. I was warmly greeted at their warehouse and they offered to give me a tour and show me what types of products could be put on my home. Needless to say I was more than intrigued, since my interest in solar had already been peaked. Given I was on a tight timeline to give the first quote a decision, I asked if someone from Sunpro Solar could be out to my house within 36 to 48 hours. This was on a Friday, and fortunately someone was able to come out on Monday. James (Jim) Oakley came out to my house Monday afternoon to give me the "sales pitch". I can't say enough good things about James. He was extremely kind and extremely understanding of the fact that that I was comparing prices with his company from a previous quote. He did everything he needed to do to earn my business, to include offering me a better product than the other company. It also made me feel at ease knowing that I was dealing with a local company, should I have any issues down the road. Since signing the contract, the entire team has been amazing, from my account Manager Karla, to everyone I have talked to along the way. Fast forward to Wednesday afternoon 08 March 2022, and I get a phone call from Sunpro offering me a next day install due to a cancellation in my area. Fortunately I was able to jump on this opportunity, and I now have 30 solar panels on my roof! Still waiting for all the hookups to be completed by my local Entergy company, but Dominic and his team were very respectful of my home and worked very diligently to get everything installed in just over 4 hours. The electrical team on site was amazing as well. I can't wait until all the last little bits of things are completed so that I can start generating solar. I've already made one referral to Jim (they purchased solar) and hope to make many more in the future. I would highly recommend Sunpro Solar for your solar needs, and by the way they have such a great reputation they are partnered with ADT, and they do roofs. And for anyone shopping in the state of Illinois Southern district, I highly recommend James (Jim) Oakley as your sales consultant.

Sunpro did a fantastic job installing panels and electrical in almost 1 day. The team was respectful and professional. Now is the opportunity to jump on the solar deal as electricity price keeps going up. Would recommend this company.

Very Friendly and Helpful Understanding Each Step

I thought it was neat I got the various lead installers cell phone numbers for any questions and each time I call my coordinator for various questions, I got the call back from the right person.

Deceptive Business Practices

I thought I was getting a good thing by going Solar. SunPro has done nothing but deceive me. I signed up with them on 2/23/22 but they backdated the contract to 2/10/22 so that I would not have a chance to cancel this contract which is given 3 days to cancel. I tried calling the Chevron/Spectrum Credit Union, but they do not deal with SunPro. I was supposed to receive a NEST Thermostat, but they have reported that I did receive one. I have not gotten the installation completed only a few empty boxes on my wall and the panels on my roof that don't work. I'm going to pay off the loan and leave this company to fulfill their end of the contract within 30 days. Extremely DISAPPOINTED and Dissatisfied.

Half way through installation and all has been excellent

We are half-way through our solar installation. So far, we have had nothing but an excellent experience with the Sunpro Solar company. The sales rep Dylan has been simply excellent in walking us through the process and keeping us informed. The installation crew was professional and their work and attention to detail was super. I am an electrical engineer and am impressed with their design details. Looking forward to having the job completed and going live.

SCAM

Sunpro/ADT scammed my elderly parents. Did a bait and switch with the price of the solar also changing the terms from 15 to 20-year loan. Asked for copies of the contract in November (and bi-weekly since)--have YET TO RECEIVE!!! Sunpro will not fix the sloppy installation. Sunpro damaged lights, the swimming pool, and landscaping. NOTHING has been done about it. There continue to be ongoing issues with the solar panels---NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT IT. There were endless issues with the installation, as well as an ever-changing cast of characters. I CAUTION anyone from doing business with these shysters. Contacting a lawyer as litigation will be the only way to get these animals to do the right thing.
