I just had Stellar Solar complete two projects including 2 Tesla power wall batteries and then 18 solar panels. I did this several months apart and all is done now. They did an excellent job...super professional ....very neat and clean. All works perfectly and their follow up with my questions was addressed and answered immediately. I highly recommend them for any panel or battery installation .

Fantastic Experience

Wow, we are so happy with our recent installation of solar panels. A few months in, our ten panels are generating more than three times as much power as we typically use and we have already saved hundreds of dollars in utility bills. We worked with Stellar Solar and the whole process went really smooth from design to installation and following up to make sure everything was working correctly. We even needed a new roof installed to handle the panels and that was done in a matter of a couple of days. I cannot say enough about how excellent Stellar Solar is. The entire process from start with Peter Kennelly to the inspections and finally the install crew was methodical, thorough, and miles ahead of their competitors. The install crew were absolutely great. Professional and experts at their craft. The cost very competitive but the value of the product and experience priceless. Right after we bought our home we had solar installed by a different company. Unfortunately the first vendor did under built to our needed capacity even after alerting that we would have a pool installed 3-5 years later. Here we are today, 10 months later, pool completed, and post Stellar project. I have been off the grid and continue to over produce by 20%. Stellar came in, built to a capacity I asked, and outperformed. Absolutely wonderful and amazing. I would go no where else. Don’t fall for the “lease” scams. Go with Stellar Solar. Very happy we chose Stellar Solar!

We contacted Stellar Solar in late February when we were gathering quotes for a rooftop solar system on our home in Scripps Ranch. We have a clay tile roof, which we came to learn requires additional considerations and expense when installing solar panels. At the time, all solar installers were extremely busy fielding inquiries from customers in the same boat as us, wanting to book a project before the net metering policy change. Of the three companies giving us detailed proposals, the experience of working with Stellar was by far the simplest and most satisfying. Their bid process was very efficient and transparent. Due to the size of the investment we were making, and as an engineer obsessed with details, I had loads of questions on a nearly daily basis. Our energy consultant, Peter Kennelly, made it a priority to answer my questions, in detail, in writing, almost as fast as I could think of them. In the end, Stellar’s quote was very similar (in both scope and price) to that of another well-known local solar/electric contractor, but Stellar was the clear winner with a few key advantages: 1. They would use their own employees to complete the roofing portion of our project, while the competitor uses subcontractors 2. Their commitment to answering our questions reflected a team and philosophy that seemed to prioritize customer communications above all 3. They would be able to complete the project several months sooner The contract signing and permitting steps were equally efficient, and within days we had written assurance from SDG&E that our project was approved for NEM2 status. It then became a simple matter of waiting for Stellar to start our installation. They were understandably overloaded with projects booked at the same time as ours, and I felt that it helped to stay in touch with them until they could give us a firm start date. Finally we were told a crew would begin our installation in early July, and the entire process would take 4 days. Everything went exactly just as promised from there. The crew showed up at 7am sharp each day. The supervisor, Trent, took time to answer my questions and explain each step of the process. They asked for my input on cosmetic details like placement of conduit and boxes, and took great care with those visible details, resulting in a very tidy installation. They finished on time and left no mess behind. The subsequent city and utility inspections went extremely quickly, and we were granted permission to operate less than three weeks from the start of the installation. Our system has been operating flawlessly for a few weeks now, and we are thrilled to already see the forecasted SDG&E billing statement flip to a negative number. Adding solar panels in San Diego, especially on a home with a clay tile roof, is not cheap. We did a ton of research and financial modeling on the way to making our decision. We have absolutely no regrets in our choice of Stellar Solar, and would choose them again without hesitation.

Ever since we contacted Stellar Solar about getting solar done on our house about two years ago, our house has received a lot of electricity. Stellar Solar has allowed us to use electronics without having to worry about the pricey electrical bills. It was the right season to choose Stellar because we found them to have reliable prices and great servie. If there was something wrong, they would send down people very quickly to make sure that our system was running the best as possible. My only regret is that we didn't contact Stellar Solar earlier because we were already looking into solar but everyone else was very expensive. We highly recommend to homeowners looking for solar options, and even those who aren't, to look into Stellar Solar.

I went with Stellar Solar to install my Tesla Powerwall last October because they are a certified SunPower installer (my builder used SunPower for my solar panels so I wanted a company that was SunPower certified). From start to finish, Stellar did an amazing job. The entire process was streamlined: it started with an initial consultation, then design, then installation, then permitting. And their quote was cheaper than many of the other companies I asked. On installation day, their crew was extremely friendly and explained to me what was happening, how long it would take, the instructions, etc. One small hiccup was months later I had a home inspector look through my entire home and they found that the electrical panels were missing some hole coverings, which could be an issue for rodents to get inside. I called Stellar up and they fixed it immediately that week, no questions asked. Overall, I had a great experience with Stellar and would recommend them to everyone for their solar needs.

Reliable & Responsive

Stellar solar has been reliable and responsive since day 1. We've had our solar system for a little over a year now and we're definitely glad we went with them. Everything has worked without a hitch and they were super responsive and on top of everything from quote, to install, to completion. Would highly recommend them. We got a lot of BS and scare tactics and price gouging from other solar vendors when we were evaluating quotes... never from Stellar. They do business the right way.

An amazing solar company in a field of many

We are super happy that we eventually went with Stellar for our solar needs. After getting quotes from a few different companies, we were most impressed with Peter and his team. They were incredibly friendly, responsive, timely, and provided all the services that we needed. We didn't receive any kind of pushy sales tactics either! They also collaborated with a local roofing company to replace our roof before the solar install. Another thing that we liked was their experience and length of time in the field. Finding a company that has been around for a while was a key factor for us. Now six months after our installation, the system is producing the estimated amount of energy.

We purchased solar panels through Stellar Solar a few years back after we researched about 10 different companies. We worked with Kenny Rutherford at Stellar and felt really comfortable with him. He wasn't pushy and had actually convinced us not to buy solar at our previous house since it wasn't our forever home. We are really happy we bought solar on this house and our only regret would be that we think we should have bought an extra panel or two. It was hard to tell at the time what our usage would look like since we hadn't been in the house that long. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is interested.

Excellent Sales and Service

We love our solar panels from Stellar Solar. At the end of 2016, we researched several companies to install solar at our home in the beginning of 2017 and Stellar Solar came out on top of our list. The representative, Kenny Rutherford was very professional, thorough, reliable and pleasant to work with. Our system has worked very well and it provides all the energy we need each year. Last year we had our home renovated and Stellar Solar was right there for us to move the panels from our house to over our garage just prior to us moving back into the house. Best decision I ever made

I was referred to Stellar Solar and Dave Gersz by a friend and I am so glad I was. I got multiple quotes in March 2019 and then Covid hit and many of the other companies dropped off the planet and I never heard from them again. Dave was right there with a virtual option and never missed a beat. He explained the process very thoroughly from start to finish. I had a list of items my HOA needed to approve the project and Dave's response was: "No Problem!" That should be this companies’ motto. Everything was so seamless and easy. My HOA everything and within 2 days of letting Dave know that we were approved his scheduler called and had me on their install schedule for the next week. The installation was perfect and done very professionally. Mario and his install team were awesome. So thorough and didn't miss anything. It took less than 1 month to get this whole project done. What was great is that every step of the way I was contacted and emailed with what to expect next. I never felt like I was just a number - I felt like I was their only customer and was always kept in the loop. I would highly recommend Stellar Solar, Dave and his team. They are amazing! GREAT experience: Stellar Solar (David Gersz)

We learned of Stellar Solar (and specifically sale manager, David Gersz) through our friends who’d had solar installed recently. David and his entire team—end to end—did not disappoint. They held our hand through the whole process, from pricing to install to tax credits, to monitoring, and later on satisfaction follow up. It’s been a no brainer recommending them to friends since. At least 3+ have gone with Stellar and all are satisfied. I can’t imagine there’s a better, more streamline and stress free option out there in San Diego.

Great experience and highly recommended

Stellar Solar is a great solar company to work with from start to finish. They were proactive with information, clear with timelines and next steps, and prompt in responding to any questions I had. The total time from contract signature to receiving PTO was a little more than a month, and could have been sooner if the inverter didn't create an issue (a manufacturer issue that Stellar was able to fix quickly). Highly recommend if looking to go solar.

Stellar is Great

We had Stellar install solar recently, they are the best! I got 4 quotes and they were the most competitive. Added a Tesla Powerwall and an EV Charger. Everything has been working great. In the summer we are not having any electric bill at all, even with the pool and AC running. The Powerwall is great, a couple of times the power has gone out in our neighborhood, but not for us with the Powerwall, everything stays on. It’s been a great investment. Keith at Stellar was easy to work with and always there if we had a question. The install was very quick and easy – the crew was clean and respectful. Overall I highly recommend Stellar if you want solar.

Stellar Solar Installation

Stellar Solar added new panels and a Tesla Powerwall 2 battery to our existing system that was originally installed in 2017. I had spoken with several other solar providers, but had extreme difficulty coming up with what we needed and the sales engineers were high-pressure, one of them actually demanding whether I was going to accept their bid before they would answer some technical questions I had. However, working with Zac at Stellar Solar we were able to come up with a design that suited our needs and our budget within a short amount of time. Zac shared his screen with me as he walked me through his analysis and rationale for the design which made it all easy to understand. Stellar was able to get the design and permits approved ahead of time and installed the system three weeks ahead of the planned date. The crew who performed the panel installation were careful as they worked on the property and finished within a day. All of the exterior conduit was painted to match existing roofing and stucco, but they were able to run most of the conduit through the attic of our two-story dwelling. The next day the electrical team arrived to install the battery and all of the ancillary electrical boxes and breaker panels. The lead, Mario, and his apprentice, Daley, were very professional and took great care to ensure the boxes and conduit were installed with symmetry and level ending up with an esthetically pleasing installation. All of the wiring and circuit breakers were clearly labeled. The final step was getting Permission To Operate (PTO) which went flawlessly. Anthony arrived at the site to go over the full function of the system and the Tesla smart application that allows us to monitor every aspect of the system and make changes according to our SDGE utility rate plan. We received PTO in January 2023, and as of July this year we have saved $4,186 in energy costs. Our True-Up (bill for the year so far) stands at $74. Just for reference we have a pool with a slide, jacuzzi, two a/c units and six people in the household. Our system consists of 34 panels and a single Tesla Powerwall 2 battery.

Stellar Solar is an amazing company that provided excellent service from start to finish. Everyone that I spoke with had intensive knowledge of their products and truly stands behind everything they sell and install. From the start they asked detailed questions on current electrical usage as well as projecting figure electrical demands with anticipated household upgrades, such as EV vehicles, hot tubs, and everything in between. They discussed the pro’s and con’s to battery storage and let me make an educated decision on what was best for us without every trying to oversell a product. When it came time for installation I couldn’t be happier! Stellar Solar handled all of the permitting and coordination to ensure a quick installation and sign-off from our City inspector. All said and done we were up and running in no time without any issues so far. The most complicated part of the process was dealing with the energy provider when switching to a solar rate plan, however, Stellar Solar was always available and quick to respond to any questions I had. Making sure I was completely satisfied along the way. I cannot recommend Stellar Solar enough. If you are still doing your research you can stop here, they truly are stellar!

Fantastic Job So happy We Found Stellar Solar!

Sherri Hubbard and I purchased our new solar system back in March from Stellar Solar. We couldn’t be happier with our system and the professionalism of all of the people we dealt with at Stellar out initial consult was with Johnny Esposito 760-912-0789. Johnny was amazingly informative explaining all of the processes we had to go through to get it installed. Stellar Solar had it up and running with SDGE within a week and a half after installation. We had interviewed three other solar companies, Stellar was by far the most professional and they beat the other quotes we had by $8-10k !!! Great company

This isn't our first house to use Steller Solar, it's our second! Yup, we came back again, 10 years later. Here's the take: --Our 12 year old system is still performing flawlessly at our old home. No repairs ever. Still getting a zero electric bill. We chose Stellar back then since most solar companies were doing sleazy leasing deals leaving homeowners with big lease contracts to pay off when they needed to sell their home. Steller had a good lender and sold it to us outright for a fair price. --We put the new solar electric system in this year in a new house, with a Tesla Powerwall. We compared Stellar's quotes to the Costo and Home Depot solar dealers. All three came to our home. I even had the Costco dealer tell me, "They can't possibly be using the NEWEST Powerwall at that price!!" Indeed they were, and they did. We compared power output, price, the Tesla battery model, the lender they recommended (a good credit union they have a relationship with) and how well the on-site person estimating calculated our yearly energy use. Steller won on all counts. I admit freaking out a bit after the installation as I tried to understand how to use the Powerwall most efficiently since we had it installed in the darkest, rainiest year SoCal has ever seen, but Dave called and texted me until I figured out how to custom program it and even advised me on the best SDGE rate plan. Gotta say, I've only had good experiences with them. I recommended them to my best friend too, who just had her solar installed by them.

worst company

I got solar with this company a year ago and now have a huge year end bill. I have tried for 5 months to get them to address the problem as the panels or system must not be working properly but they refuse to do anything or send someone out. they literally do not care. I would never recommend them to anyone. My friends all got solar at the same time with other companies and have no bill at year end and they charge 2 vehicles, run their jacuzzi a lot etc. I don't. There is no reason for this higher bill. they tried to say weather but my friend live in the same neighborhood so that is not it. my bills are higher than when I didn't have solar!

Great solar company

Stellar Solar installed my solar last year and did a great job. Bryan was a pleasure to work with. I've loved getting the low bills from SDG&E inc several that were credits! I really enjoyed getting a check for the year end true-up. It was such a good experience three friends subsequently had StellarSolar install solar at their homes.
