Got my Solar System installed in 2021, had a contract with them to clean twice a year plus grease, I haven't seen him in 3 years. I can't get ahold of Em, and they won't answer their phones.

Very disappointed. This used to be a great solar company! I have equipment under warranty still. Now they've changed all their phone numbers and emails and run off when I really needed them. Apparently, they never pulled the right structural permit and I'm just now finding out.

Had them install solar on my house in 2020 and 2021, they have never cleaned or serviced them. The Telsa 2 powerwall was shutdown due to recall by Telsa and they wanted to charge me to replace under warranty/recall the powerwall2 . I having to contact a legit solar company to do the recall. There not even Telsa certified and phone number don't work but yet goodleap was able to get a hold of them. Sound fishy??

Don't use them!!! They don't honor their warranty! My system doesn't work and since several months they are telling us that we are on the waiting list! They didn't reply to complaints with the BBB.

Worst company I have dealt with in my life. Have not completed the job and never respond to email. I don’t even know how are they still in business. Do not use this company.

Expensive Broken Solar System

I had my solar.system fo about 13 years, but every time I need assistance due to system failure I can not get anyone to respond to my phone calls or return a.call. The worst customer service ever. Not a reliable company, will not do business with them again, and definitely would not recommend.

Zero business ethics. Stay away.

This company has installed solar panels for my house and since then has never once serviced or done any maintenance nor. They didn’t follow through on the paperwork and now in less than 2 years, the panels are not working. They refuse to answer calls, emails or messages. I am now working with legal advisor to file a lawsuit. Stay away from this company.

A great company in the beginning.

My wife and I recently moved from California to the RGV. Our previous home had Tesla Solar panels and the product made by Tesla was excellent. I received a quote from a company in the RGV but the company was unable to provide Telsa panels. I was in the process of signing a contract with "the other company" when Jacob Yarbrough and Rene Garcia came to my door. Jacob said he was a representative from South Texas Solar Systems Company. I advised Jacob I was already in the process of signing with another company. Jacob said he could beat the price offered to me by "the other company." I let Jacob in and told Jacob I would most likely go with the other company, but I would hear him out. Jacob beat the competitors' price and was also able to get me Tesla panels. Jacob also stated he would be able to get an EV port. The EV port had me thinking about the value of our home going up. Electric cars are the future and if I had a charging port installed that would definitely increase the value of our home. Everything Jacob advised me his company could do, the company did. My panels were installed in April of this year (2022/28 panels). The crew from S.T.S.S. was top notch. This crew did everything. I have an HOA and Agustin Pacheco provided all the needed paperwork to my HOA board. I did not have to do a thing. My installation process was effortless. I still stay in contact with Jacob and Agustin. Great people in general. I've had no problems with my solar system. As for my EV port. I haven't received it. Now I'm confused. I pay my loan as promised. I get my Tesla panels, but I don't receive my EV port. I contacted Jacob, who no longer works for the company. Jacob apologized for the delay but also stated he no longer worked for the company. I contacted Agustin who stated he is trying his best to get the product. Agustin stated he will contact me as soon as possible when the EV port comes in. It's December. Nine (9) months of paying for a product I haven't even received. How can a company treat a paying customer like this? I'm shocked. It's clear the person I was working with is no longer working for the company. It's clear the company now has someone running it who is incompetent. I would love to give this company a great review because the people I originally worked with took care of business and came through on their product. I would seriously investigate who will be doing the job for you from this company. It's clearly not dependable people like Jacob and Agustin. I would seriously find out what company Jacob works for now. I know for a fact if Jacob is working for the company the job will be done professionally and correctly. It used to be a time when companies would continue to stay in contact with the customer long after the customer purchased the product. I guess this company only takes the money and runs. Very disappointed with South Texas Solar. Sincerely, Mr. still paying for something I haven't received. Take my advice. Do your homework. Maybe if the company was called "South Texas Solar by Jacob and Agustin Inc" I would have my EV port by now. No call. No text. No email. No nothing but my bank statement keeps coming every month. It just pisses me off a company like this would just disregard me like this. Maybe I should have gone with "the other company." Whoever has taken over, I can truly say your follow up service is substandard. Meaning, you should be fired.

Fair price & installed on time

The company provided me a fair price for the installation. No company is perfect; but from the sales team to installation, they communicated any change to me and my wife as soon as they knew it. They are an honest company who made the installation as simple and understandable as possible. The panels are generating enough power to offset my bill (as they promised) - I would recommend them to anyone looking into solar for their home or business.

Rated as one of the worse Solar companies

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY: I called to request to get my panels cleaned no one would answer the phone and their answering machine was completely full because no one checks the messages! I finally get a call back by the RUDENESS associate . She stated that there not doing panel cleaning and suggested that I call a outside company to get them clean , I said ok but will I be reimbursed she said NO . This associate name is Jerelyn. I pretended that I didn’t have my contact and if she could email it to me . Once she emailed me the contract she states that there is nothing in my contract about cleaning my solar panels . So I asked when was the last time my panels were cleaned funny she sent me a list that they had come out to clean my panels and the sent me a 5 year select warranty. I waited a couple of days and told her I found my contract and scan the 15 year select limit warranty. She was doing illegal by switching out my warranty from a 5 year as opposed to the 15 year warranty. She refuses to take my calls or give me her supervisor or the owners contact. This is totally illegal and a Breach of contract. I’m sure this is not the first time she has done this ! I’m now trying to seek legal help !

incompetent comany

hired this company summer 2021. it is january 2022 and i still waiting for them to finish job. they don't seem to know what they are doing. regret doing business with them.

Poor service

The company offers the best quality on products and the best customer service and start doing your research and wow everything is good on the comments and information provided, but, always a BUT I been dealing with a mismatch producción on the panels they installed, when I asked they they buy boys amounts of panels and probably we get a different panels not a whole lot.

Complete con artists and liars

They violated the contract from day one and on every aspect, they out the wrong equipment, wrong amount of equipment, failed to connect components, left wires open and hanging as well as unconnected, the modules are turned off visibly and they keep calling that a complete install that is working... It's off... Then they say they will communicate regularly and don't, ignore your calls and emails, verbally abuse you, miss every appointment they make with you and don't give you your rebates and perks promised at time of signing. There is literally NOTHING positive I could say about this company. And james will call you to promise he's so sorry and will do ANYTHING to fix it, they fail to and never speak to you again. Run for the hills y'all... Fast

We signed up at the end of 2018...a busy time as everyone wanted a tax break. They got off to slow start installing in January 2019. First day a few panels...next day the entire system. As an Electrical Engineer, I was observing every point of the installation. Very professional JOB! There Master Electrician made several trip after reviewing the installation photos. Mainly issues with decals. The system is working at or above my expectations, generating more power than it was rated at one point. The system is saving us money in two ways. We are making more power than we are using even with a 5 ton AC. Second, is a real added benefit. By covering up nearly all of my south facing roof, we have essentially shaded the hottest part of our roof. With the ac set at 76 daytime and 71 nighttime, it is late afternoon before the AC cycles. We have had no issues with this Company, but I got the impression they would work with me to resolve any issue.
