Didn't even get a 2nd appointment
I was inquiring about getting solar panels and set up an appointment with Solgen Power to get the specifics. They sent someone over to give me a very general description of how the process works. When I asked more detailed questions like how many panels, what would the cost be, what APR % was available, etc., they set up a 2nd appointment to give me those specifics. The guy asked me to e-mail him my questions so he could make sure they got answered. I e-mailed 4 questions, the 3 above and the 4th was why I did I need to pay a 26% dealer fee for the low APRs and not for their highest APR% option. I felt like they penalize you for having good credit and con you into choosing the higher APR%. Needless to say, they cancelled the 2nd appointment and basically said good luck getting solar. Guess I will be getting solar from another company.

Solgen Power Bait and Switch
Do NOT, I say DO NOT, go through this company to get solar panels. I would say every person who I talked with, Solgen Power lied to my wife and I about getting a "FEDERAL" tax incentive for putting solar panels on my shop. Today, 2/15/2021, my wife and I filed our taxes and its a non refundable tax incentive. No not a incentive.. We were suppose to get $13,000 back to put towards our loan for the solar panel unit. Now, will be paying even more for electricity.

If 0 was an option that is what I would have given
This company lacks all communication and does not stand behind the offers made by their sales guy, he will tell you anything to get the sale. We have been working since February to get our system up and running, delay after delay and total lack of communication.

The customer service is not there.
Well not happy it took 10 days to call in an electrical inspection. They did not do the change I wanted and put all solar panels on my shop. It took 31 days ti the system was on the grid. It’s been 47 days since install and system is not up 100 present.

They'll tell you anything to close the deal
During our initial meeting with Solgen (both the local salesperson and one of the owners/chief sales officer), my wife and I were told that we would be getting a tax credit for 30% of the cost of the panels (about $14,000) at the end of the year when we filed our taxes, and that we could either take that money and apply it to what we financed or we could keep it. Should we decide to keep it and not pay down the loan, then our monthy finance payment would jump significantly higher than what they were telling us. We confirmed more than once that, at the end of the year when we filed our taxes, we would absolutely be getting the full tax credit. I went to file my taxes today, and they were completely wrong. The only way that I could get the full tax credit was if I had paid more than that in taxes for 2019, and that the energy efficiency tax credit was applied after all other tax credits were applied. Since I have five children and my wife stays at home with the kids, we aren't going to even come close to that level. Of the $14,000 or so dollars that they told me I was getting, what I actually got was around $900. My accountant took a look at this and told me that it would be at least 10 years before I saw the full credit. We called the salesperson who we had met with to ask about this, and he played dumb. He told my wife that it didn't make sense and said that we still should be getting the full credit this year (which is wrong) He then said that he would need to explain it higher up at Solgen becuase he couldn't do anything about it on the phone with us and asked me to email him the information. I emailed him immediately and requested confirmation that he received it, and several hours later I have no reply. I feel like I'm being ignored now. On top of that, when I went to look today at the design and contract for the proposal that we originally signed, I saw that they installed some of the panels on the opposite end of the roof as the one they showed me. They installed six panels onto the south end of my roof where they are closer to the other panels, which made for an easier install for them, but they're in an area that is in the shadow of another part of my house for a good portion of the day. Had they installed where they were supposed to, they would be in full sunlight. I contacted the branch manager, Preston, who told me that my CPA was wrong on the taxes and tried to get me to go to his guy. He sent me a generic tax document that didn't take into account any other tax situations and said that I should still receive the full credit this year. When I replied with the information from the IRS themselves that showed that he was wrong, he stopped responding and told me that the CEO would be reaching out to me. It has been a week and a half with multiple follow up emails and I have yet to hear anything from the CEO, just more excuses from Preston and promises that the CEO will be calling.

Worst customer service experience ever
This process did not go well from the beginning with lack of communication right after you sign the deal. They Quickly explain the process when you sign up but after, no follow up or follow thru. Only way I was kept in the loop was because of tricos emails on their next step. Called Solgen to ask when install would be since I had waited about a week after trico stated plans were not approved. Had to call Solgen a week or so latter to ask what the email meant. They stated, “we were adjust going to call you” and then asked for my name and address. How did you know who I was to just call me if you didn’t have my info?? After approval from trico, I waited approx. two weeks to call and ask what the hold up was and they said that trico just approved the plans but I had received notification from trico about 2 weeks back. Again, I got the, “i was just going to call you to set this install date. Again they didn’t know who I was in the first place. The install went great. But inspector had to come back again, and again not sure why, but a notification from trico said they had to come back out. Solgen showed me how to download app to monitor system but couldnt show me how to read the info since my system wasn’t ready yet. I’ve had three payments since and with the trico bill I’m paying double. Called and they said it was because of a tree. They didn’t say it was going to be an issue during install and they were suppose to be monitoring system too to let me know of inefficiencies. I did but her the crap out of my tree a month ago but it was leafless it n the first place. I have a friend that had solar installed by Solgen and is a 6.3kw. They live 2 miles away and is averaging 1 more kw a day when I have a 7.2kw system. They then said it was a vent tube ( 3inch) on the ruff blocking light At this point this was an expensive mess, who to me, Solgen can careless because they got paid already. No one has come to my house to reassess the situation or check my system and this was 3 weeks ago when I’ve made my last call for resolution. Just got another trico bill today that was disappointing.
