This business misrepresented the terms of my contract. Purelight power, formerly, Solgen power, specifically stated that I cannot pay additional amounts toward my principal loan until 18 months into my contract. I was hoping to pay a portion of the principal loan amount within the year of signing. I held off my additional payments until August 2025, at which time I was charged $88 more a month, all interest. Since signing up, have paid $55 and change on my loan. The representative gave false statements and pretenses involving my loan and its terms. This company completely lied to me and my husband. I never would have signed under these conditions. $4,500 that Solgen Power and Goodleap has stolen from my family. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCT!

Scammers

Signed a contract with them 10/2022 and they promised the world and how it would pretty much eliminate our electric bill. Paid $85,000 for it and still have to pay half the electric bill and the other half to goodleaf. Had them come and look and they said they were producing the max. Had another company come out and look and they said they were old out of date panels and they are supposed to to be “Top Tier all black solar panels” nothing top tier about them! How the hell do we start a class action lawsuit against these fuckers???

These salesmen have ZERO respect for personal property. Walking through our yard, POUNDING on our door, trying to look inside our front porch window after their knocks go unanswered. We have a huge NO SOLICITING sign on our porch directly next to where they’ve been knocking. I am one more incident away from opening the door the next time they knock and letting my territorial dog chase them off our property. Cannot handle the blatant disregard in an attempt to make a quick buck. GO AWAY SOLGEN.

A sophisticated scammer at best

I was sold into getting the solar for my home under the promise that my monthly bill will be around $5 to $10. Guess what, in my area, the minimum fee is $18.xx If I was only paying the minimum, I would have been very happy even if it is more than what the sales people told me. They sold me a 9kwh system telling me it can cover 2 EVs and everything running in my house after going over 2 years worth of electric bill. Guess what? My average cost for electricity went from $180 /mo to $312 /mo including the loan payment. I only have one EV for daily commute and it is under delivering the power generation it promised. It is one of the new towns in Lynnwood with a single tree that is tall enough to go above my house and it is not even on my land. These guys are total scammers. Stay away. If anyone is working on class action, please post on Reddit.

Worst Business ever. Hope you never have to put on a new roof

WHAT A MONOPOLY!!!!! This company is a big joke. If I knew now, back in 2020 I would have never installed solar, especially with this company!! Solar is not what it is cracked up to be and being pushed by "Corrupt Government" In Washington State you don't generate the power to have a "0 $" bill. Especially when you have charges on your power bill to pay for those who do not pay their bill. (Thanks Jay Inslee) I had solar installed in 2020 on a newly constructed shophouse (Pole Barn) which has a non-traditional roof. I had nothing but issues with the original install which lead to Solgen having to pay my contractor to replace a BRAND NEW 1 month old roof. This original install caused my roof to leak....Fast forward to 2024 and my roof needed replaced ALREADY (at my own expense). I worked with a roofing contractor and started communication with Solgen in Feb 2024 as they are the ONLY ones who can uninstall/reinstall to have a new roof replaced (What a Monopoly). As you know roofing contractors "Can't" be at the beck and call of a solar company as they usually need to schedule roofing projects around the weather. Trying to get Solgen to commit to a date to uninstall was a nightmare. They are NOT willing to work with a contractors schedule as my re-roof was scheduled for the end of June. Solgen didn't uninstall until July. It is now the end of August and Solgen just got a crew out 8/29 to re install. The crew showed up and couldn't do the work as they didn't have the correct screws. Well guess what??? I guess an existing customer doesn't mean much to this company because I am back AGAIN on their "Waiting List" to have a crew come back. What 3 months from now????? All I can say is do your homework on Solar and Solar companies!!! I DO NOT recommend this company at all!!!!!!!!!

Liars, cheats, and thieves!!!

They will tell you anything to get you to sign the paperwork then you're screwed. Say goodbye to your house, you'll either lose it or it will be unrepairable. Solgen is the lowest form of scum ever. The government tax credit is nonrefundable, you'll never pocket it or apply to your loan. They lie to get you to sign for a loan you can't afford. Then they'll damage your house, treat you like crap, leave you with a system that doesn't work, and hide behind the legal fine print. They blame everyone else including the customer for anything that goes wrong and there's nothing you can do about it because they already have your money. FYI the loan company Goodleap is in on it.

Terrible communication and customer service

Solgen made a lot of mistakes throughout the process and demonstrated terrible communication and project management. My panels were turned on 6 months after the estimated completion date. Solgen also did a roof replacement in December, and after stripping the old roof off, they left it exposed in the snow and rain for a month. This resulted in water seeping into the attic. Throughout the process multiple people from Solgen kept assuring me that the company would give me credits to make up for all the mistakes and delays. Once the process was completed they did a 180 and decided that they weren't going to do anything to make things right with me and my family. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Overall it was a terrible experience.

Lack of communication from sales to installation.

I told my sales person i would only go with it as long as I could get my roof, solor panels for current and my business that I was starting and more power/amperage to the house for the business. He said that was not a problem. Sales person also said i would eat the entire tax credit my first year. Roof was installed great. They only installed enough panels to cover current output and did nor instal the added power/amperage needed even after they said they would make it right. I am now being told i will need to pay out of pocket for the additional power and panels. (Between $15k & $20K) and this is now drastically hindering my business.

Solgen is the worst managed busines, that is still in business

Solgen is a joke! They sold me on solar and agreed to a design. They came back a month later with a different design, that I didn't want but accepted. Then sent out installers with yet a 3rd design that I rejected. It took 2 more months to get back to an agreed design that still generated the original design. Then came the odyssey of the electrical. 1st configuration of electrical would not pass code. I offered them a remedy that they rejected. 2nd attempt was also rejected by L&I. After 5 attempts, I am still waiting for Solgen to contact the L&I inspector to come out for re-inspection. Throughout this ordeal, I dealt with approximately 10 to 15 DIFFERENT people. Hardly Ever had the same person respond to an email or phone call. Hopefully I have saved someone from this dispicable company. I should add, the Electricians, all 8 of them that I dealt with were professional and pleasant to work with, this wasn't their fault, it was all MANAGEMENT ISSUES!

STAFF NOT KNOWLEDGABLE

When Solgren first came out and sold me on the solar panels I was given wrong information. First of all I Asked three times "so I don't have to pay the electrical company any money from here on out" Three times I was told "NO". Later I found out that I was still going to have to pay the utility company for their meter. Second, I not only have to pay meter but I have gotton two bills during November and December, 2022 for $60 and $81. I called about them coming out to check my solar system. They said something about not being connected to the internet and thought they had fixed it until the following month I received the second bill and called again and they have not been out to check the problem again. It's been two weeks now. Now the staff is saying that sometimes depending on the weather or the production it could be more. I'm actually spending more then I was when I was just using the electrical company. Now I am also paying more monthly on solar system. They didn't tell me I'd have a lean on my house too! Do your research. I hope this helps someone not fall into this mess that I am in. Not saving anything spending more!

A bit shady financial process

They gave me a bid and approved a loan at 2.9%. I thought this was pretty good and went ahead and signed the contract prior to being contacted by another installer who gave me a second bid. The second bid came in $18,000 less than Solgen. When I complained that I was being over-charged, I got an updated bid that was $18,000 less at more than twice the interest rate (6.9%) within about 2 hours. When I tried to get the interest down to what was originally proposed, they told me to contact the lender (Mosaic) directly. When I did, they had no record of my pre-approved loan. Thankfully, I was able to cancel the contract.

The only good thing? At least I'm not alone....

Wanna get robbed? Go with Solgen. That should be their motto. System got installed seemingly ok. During the height of summer I found out that the system failed 3 weeks after install in March. No one called. No one notified us. The techs came out and "fixed" it. I asked what the panels were outputting. They told me and I informed them that it was significantly lower than what my contract was signed for. They agreed, were stunned at my expense, shuffled their feet, and left. I paid at least double what this system (if working properly) would cost from any other company. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, DON'T BE INTIMIDATED BY THEIR SLIMY SALES PEOPLE. Once you do, I guarantee you'll go with someone else. The only "good" aspect to all this is seeing that I'm not alone in my experience.....unfortunately. Hard to believe that "people" run this company.

Technicians no call/no show, cause damage, no responsibility

They came to upgrade our panel on 09/07. Left a huge hole in my wall for over a month. Did not install whole house GFCI, installed oven fuse in that space instead, it fried my oven and inspector won't sign off on panel for over a month. Solgen blamed the power company for turning the power back on (even though Solgen called them and said it was ok to turn on). Taking no responsibility, even though that electrician texted us to say that "Inspection won't pass unless everything is labeled so everything that was labeled is the same but I threw in a couple names that weren't labeled so I wouldn't trust it 100%." Yet somehow it's not their issue. Roof has not been completed, over one month. We've had multiple scheduled times for people to come out and they never show. We've had multiple times when no one was scheduled and the come with no warning.

We are located in Tucson so I cannot speak for the other offices. Besides the sales rep that sold us on investing in Solgen's system, who is no longer with the company, we have had nothing but a damn headache! We can BARELY get anyone to call us back! We confirm appointments for inspections and their technician(s) never shows up! We call to see what is going on and ACTUALLYT get someone on the line and they flat out lie to us! Absolutely the worst experience ever! This office should be ashamed of themselves. What a HORRIBLE way to run an office and company!

Cheyenne Johnston is the current permit specialist who is responsible for obtaining permits for projects and she is terrible to contact. When she finally responds to emails, she is sarcastic in her responses and does not answer any questions. She is currently causing a long delay in a simple rooftop PV installation. When requested in writing, she is unable to provide a simple breakdown of the total bid price and acts like you should accept the total price and not ask questions. There are many professional solar installation companies and I recommend choosing ANY other company.

Do your research first, and then go with a different company.

You know those reviews that say "I wish I could give zero stars."? Well, this is one. As others have said, their communication is terrible. I had people randomly showing up at my home when I wasn't there, without scheduling with me or contacting me first. No communication for the actual install until I had reached out to them about it, and when I was finally able to get an install date, it was nearly 3 months after sign up. After I finally did get them installed, they left a bunch of trash and materials in my yard. Didn't even bother to clean up after themselves. Then, after the local PUD does their final inspection and I get the okay to turn on the panels... nothing. I got some directions to troubleshoot the Sense app that is installed for monitoring, but they didn't help. A technician came out to take a look, and they didn't seem to know what they were doing. He was trying to flip the breaker for the panels, and he was flipping the breaker for the Sense monitor. I pointed this out, and he was like "Oh... yeah, you're right." SMH DO NOT make the same mistake I did. DO NOT trust what any sales person tells you, and do your own research. There is even a clause in their contract stating "We don't guarantee any claims made by our sales representatives, and it is up to the buyer to do their own research." Just scummy. So, I paid $80k for a system that doesn't work, and I'm getting zero customer support. Don't buy your system from Solgen Power.

I had Solgen install my solar panel 2 years ago, when there was a big push in Illinois. I was told by the salesman Preston at that time that Solgen would be my one contact for all my needs. Well August numbers this year were down and the the app shows 3 panels out. I called on September 9th and informed Solgen that this had been the case for months. I was told at that time there was no crews in Illinois but I would get a call back in 5 days. I called back in two weeks and got nothing. It has now been 2 months and 6 months with the 3 panels out on my roof with no plan for repairs and snow coming soon!

The premise explained was a new roof would be thrown in as well.. they contracted (at the time if suspension) then sent unlicensed handymen to roof our house. During 108 degree heat in central valley the handymen tore of the roof and left it exposed for a month and 1 week.. we had to get a roofer to come and roof the house. When they did show up they came and refused to give me a license number(video) in report to come, and finally as of 7/20 or so, got the workmans comp in compliance. As what in my opinion was an act to take advantage of elderly, they signed them on a 80k + contract and are attempting to lean the house..our lawyer is on it.. so based on these circumstances please send your emails to ceo@googles360.com There is help available, and our claim makes it easier for you...Sean. an update to come.

Worst Customer Service I've Experienced in Years

I'm writing this comment in hopes that more unsuspecting customers don't get trapped into deals with this organization. They promise 95% offset of all energy consumption. They deliver somewhere between 5-20%. You will be stuck with paying double energy bills for the duration of your solar loan. Asking them to review/help/fix the problem/compensate the customer for their GROSS underestimation results in them quoting their contract (which conveniently leaves out the 95% offset that is verbally mentioned during numerous conversations), and essentially leave you with a too bad, so sad message, that they aren't going to help out any further. All this, after hunting down multiple staff in numerous departments for answers. Once they have your commitment, this company does NOT want to deal with you, and they will avoid doing anything to help as much as possible. It's not that staff are unkind, but I believe they are trained to say whatever will make the customer stop being worried, until they get what they need out of the customer. Departments DO NOT communicate with one another. Our solar panel install team showed up with the wrong blueprint, installed a completely wrong layout on my roof, and had to remove everything and come back 2 weeks later to reinstall with the correct specs. The install team manager told me over the phone (in 2 separate conversations) that he would look into covering the 2 extra panels that the sales team upsold me on "for free" due to the myriad inconveniences I experienced. He promised "don't worry bud, I won't leave you hanging". I haven't heard from him since. He has not returned calls or texts. That was 4 months ago. The botched install also left holes in the roof, which needed to be plugged. When their repairman showed up, he said/asked, "I'm told you need a drywall job?". Nobody even told him what was needed. I explained that, no, there were holes in the roof that needed patching from the botched panel install. He explained that nobody told him anything about the specific job that needed to be done, but fortunately had the tools necessary to perform the repair. When the install team returned, the installed the panels, minus the extra 2. No word of why, or anything related to my financial commitment and making me whole. After the first 2 months, in which roughly 3% of my used electricity was offset by Solgen's panels, I called (and emailed) to ask what was going on. They showed me their estimates for the year, stating that it was based on the 1 month of energy use data from last year that they had requested at the onset of the process. Why they don't ask for a full year became clear to me very quickly. When I compared their "estimates" to my actual use from last year, EVERY SINGLE MONTH was lower in their estimate than my actual use, INCLUDING the month for which they had my actual data! When I confronted them about what appeared to be an intentionally low estimate, they deflected my concern, saying that..
