Solar Tech Elec LLC

Very professional and best price

The Solar Tech Elec LLC to finished our 11,470 Watt solar system installation in just two days, and on the 3rd day they passed the final inspection. The same day when the inspection was passed Solar Tech Elec applied to Duke Energy on our behalf for a meter swap. It may take sometime for Duke to review before they can do the swap. We highly recommend using this company because they did a professional installation at the time when they scheduled it and completed it in timely fashion and passed the final inspection the next day. The communication either with Ross, the owner, or Celeste, the office manager, was friendly, supportive and prompt. We were able to electronically sign the contract and they did the installation and passed inspection even we weren’t at home at that time. And we had to pay only when the final inspection was passed. Not only that Solar Tech Elec did a great job, but the price per watt was better than from any other solar company. I will update this review after Duke connect us to the grid, which may take some time, due to coronavirus situation.

Simply the Best.

We shopped many different solar companies before we chose Solar Tech Elec LLC. We have 90 panels in three separate systems with an 8kw battery backup. Solar Tech panels and systems are superior to all of the others that we looked at. They also had the best price. The installers are very knowledgeable and excel at what they do. I would highly recommend Solar Tech Elec LLC to anyone wanting solar. We would not go with any other company.

Just do it!

Now is the time - Solartechelec did a thorough design and installation. Ross was great to deal with throughout the process. We ran into a snag with our house electrical grounds (water pipe had been converted to PVC) but Ross & team got it all resolved. We just zeroed our our power bill this month!

Response to malfunctioning inverter

Ross contacted us letting us know the solar was not producing solar energy. The inverter has stopped working. He ordered a new one and replaced the bad one and we are now producing solar energy again. He is contacting the manufacturer to reimburse us for electric costs for the five weeks we were without solar. Thank you Solartech Elec and Ross!

Terrible customer service, unpermitted installation of battery

Chose them through the Solar Coop. Had gotten other estimates but felt that the coop vetting and price was good. We had a very similar experience to the other very poorly related review. Lots of talk and little action. I had a 16.80kW system that was installed in 2018. Installers left 2 gouges in my brand new flat roof which leaked and ruined ceilings. And an additional leak was caused by trash left on the roof blocking a scupper and causing water to pool. It took 2 weeks for Ross to send someone out to move a panel so that we could find one gouge and during that time it rained multiple times. Spent months trying to get this all fixed and fighting with Ross about payment. Panels were installed under a tree (not per the original plan) and they refused to move them. Additional major shading issues were found which were enough to shut down whole strings and an independent review of our system found that the promised power production was impossible even without major shading issues. Ross is a salesman and once he sells you he is on to the next thing. And the most recent issue is the backup battery that they installed without a permit! I am having major electrical work done and an electrician saw the battery and noted that it was not to code. Seems it is not to code and not permitted. Ross has ignored my request for an after the fact permit. We have no technical specs on the battery so it is going to be very hard to get someone else to come in and move the battery. I filed a complaint with the BBB in December before the battery issue. I am now going to the county licensing board about the permit. Our system is large and was more complicated than a standard install. We also do not have a valid warrantee for our battery as the only ID on it is Solar Tech… So many promises, so much bull.

Strong Recommend. Compared with 5 Estimates by Other Companies.

I have a 14.3 kW system installed by SolarTechElec. They were available within a couple of days as opposed to a month by some other installers. The price was 1/3 less than some other installers and the installation was started in less than a month. My roofing system is concrete tile, and the install required a significant amount of effort by SolarTech that was far more than anticipated, but the solar panels were installed in 3 days with a crew of 4 working on the roof. I selected the Enphase microinverters to lessen the diameter of the large gauge wire that must be used for the DC systems. SolarTechElec is a smooth company to work with, and the Enphase power monitoring system is available on a smartphone or on a home PC so you can track the useage. The system is producing exactly as much as predicted by the SolarTechElec modeling completed the same day as the initial visit. I am now adding energy to the electric grid, and am a net producer instead of just a consumer of electricity. Strong recommend! Very satisfied customer. They have consistently good reviews.

Great customer service

Ross responded quickly to questions that I had and explained them until I understood. They started later in the morning per my request and still finished the install in one day. I have now had my system for 2.5yrs and am still happy with the performance. I am averaging 16.2MWh, which is right at what I was quoted my system would do.

Quick and Efficient

Ross Dyson, owner of SolarTechElec, made a complex issue easy to understand and install. 35 solar panels were on our roof within 2 weeks of signing the paperwork. Ross negotiated a fair price, promptly responded to our texts, answered all our questions and even installed the equipment to enable solar monitoring on our phone. We generated 1000 KWH in January and can't wait to see our savings in our first power bill.

We love our solar system!

The team at SolarTechElec we’re awesome. They worked with us to design a solar array that exceeded our expectations. The lead installer Glenn was just amazing. He helped us with every step along the way to make sure the system would perform the way we were hoping.

Ross and Team were great and easy to worth with!

Ross and his team were great! We were quoted quickly and his team took the right steps to ensure our install was smooth! I would recommend them to anyone looking to go solar. We were fortunate to find them through a co-op in our community. They were competitive and still efficient even with their larger number of installs that summer.

Solar Tech was awesome!

Everything Solar Tech quoted has been spot on. The installation was quick and easy. With 20 panels my energy bill is $11.58 a month. There was a small problem re entry and it was fixed with no questions asked. I am very satisfied with all aspects of my solar installation and would highly recommend this company.

Cost effective

Had Ross install two systems for us. Had some problems with one system, which Ross was able to resolve. Both systems seem to be producing a lot of power. He has contacted me multiple times throughout the year to check on the systems and make sure everything is good. Thanks!!

6.6 kw system

Ross and his team did an excellent job. Flexible and work hard to produce a quality finished product and a happy customer. Great people!

Awesome Experience and Excellent Service

Fantastic experience! Where do I start? I can't say enough in regards to all of the positive reasons I chose to do business with Ross and Solar Tech Elec. Excellent experience all the way around. I spoke to many different companies regarding what they had to offer from not only the panels they were selling, but even all the way down to what kind of flashing, optimizers and inverters they were using along with what finance options they offered. Ross was not only accommodating, bit also very knowledgeable and straight forward without cutting any corners in his answers. He listened to my questions and answered them effectively and even invited me to his office and showed me the products he would use during install! Of all the companies I spoke to he was the first person to invite me to visit his facility to see the way he does things...the right way. The cherry on top was his pricing. He had the best pricing out of the gates plus he had multiple options for financing. Make sure you call SolarTech before you make a decision anywhere else! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Excellent Team = Excellent install

From beginning to end outstanding experience with Ross and his team. Price was less than expected, Install was flawless and when Duke Energy began to balk at timely service they helped us through the process. You would be foolish to go elsewhere.

Solar install

I highly recommend Solar Tech Elec. They installed 11KW system with 15kwh battery storage for me. The price was better than the other competitors. Ross the owner has always been quick to answer all my questions at anytime of the day. Ross's install team were great very professional and cleaned the work area after they were done. They also answered and explained to me everything during the installation process. I am saving over $100 a month with the solar system. The current system doesn't zero out my bill but that's because I use too much electricity. I told Ross that and he will be installing 6 more panels on my gazebo to help get me closer to zeroing out my bill.

Amazing Team & a wonderful experience!

The process was fairly smooth! The occasional hiccups with permits & electric company occurred but those were out together the control of Ross’ team! Overall, we had successful installation! I’m very pleased!!

Amazing !

Ross and his team did an amazing job, installed our 10.20KW in one day!! Highly recommend..

Honest and reliable company

If you live in Florida, owning a solar panels is a must. There is so many companies and to find the right one is hard. Solar Tech Elec is the only company that will give you unbeatable price and great customer service.

Absolutely amazing!

Ross and his team did an amazing job on my system. Celeste in the office was very helpful from start to finish this was the best decision I have ever made. My electric bill went from $350 a month to now just paying for the system. I am so releaved to cut costs wherever I can. Thanks again to the installers also perfect from start to finish I highly recommend Solar Tech Elec.

Solar Tech came in and looked to see what exposure we had.

We chose Solar Tech as they broke down the costs for us giving us a better understanding of what it was going to cost. Ross kept his word on when the installation process was going to take place. Solar Tech always answered any of my questions whether they were on site or off. Expert installers. Each worker that worked for solar tech was neat and cleaned up everything when finished. The whole process from start to end left us with no questions. Our Biggest problem was dealing with Duke as they knew they were loosing another problem......Ross even prepped us for that phase. 5 STARS to Solar Tech.

Amazing Company

Best group of people you can work with. I contacted Ross about my interest in solar panels and he came out to show me what I could be saving. Once I pulled the trigger the process could not have gone smoother. The team was quick and professional in getting everything up and running. I even had one member find an issue with my roof and fix it on his own dime. The price cannot be beat. If you are in the market for solar panels you need to work with Ross.

Great System - exceeds expectations

Best Price by far, stellar work with easy financing available. I found out later that a neighbor installs solar panels. He looked the system over and said he couldn't match it at his cost.

Best there is

I have had my solar system for 1 year now going on my 2nd. Let me tell you I did research for over a 1 year of solar panels and was my home right for it. I had gotten a couple of quotes and then I found Ross and his team. No one could beat his price. The closest company was almost 15k away. I signed the deal with Ross. Him and his team came in and had my house all set up in a few days and I have been saving money every sense. I will always recommend Ross and his team to anyone looking for quality service and quality panels.

Simply Amazing!

Not only was Solar Tech Elec LLC the lowest bidder for my 15kw Solar system, They refuse to skimp on quality! From the design of my system to the installation, this company is Top notch! My wife was skeptical at first when i told her we could totally offset our power usage and get a return of our investment in less than 5 years. Well fast forward almost a year and we are producing more power than we need! We are selling power back to Duke and are looking to buy an electric car to start saving on fuel for my long commute to work. Don't wait. Take advantage of the 30% tax rebate before its gone!!! Stop dreading opening that power bill.
