Solar Symphony

Solar Symphony installed my solar system in June 2023. I'd give the installation a C since there was a problem on the first day of start up that I had to call about, but it was resolved pretty quickly. I paid cash for the system, and made payments to Solar Symphony exactly when they asked for them. My system incudes the Enphase monitoring app that recently began showing an error message that included contacting Solar Symphony for help. I first contacted them on May 23, and have contacted them 8 times since because although the "Customer Service Manager" said he would get back to me about setting up the Tech to come onsite and diagnose the problem, he never did so. I hired another firm to perform the diagnostics and Solar Symphony has placed a line from my solar panels in my "consumption" line, so all my consumption readings are wrong and I can't monitor my sytem. All they have to do is come and fix their faulty installation, but they don't respond. I'm of course very sorry I ever chose this contractor to install my system - they have good reviews for installation, but poor service reviews, so make sure you check both if you are considering having them install a system for you.

We inherited a solar system on a home we recently purchased. During escrow, the system faulted and no longer produced any power by the time we took occupancy. Suffice it to say, conversations were extremely difficult to coordinate among our home seller, real estate agents, the solar installer, the solar manufacturer, the battery installer, and the battery manufacturer. Enter Mike Curtis of Solar Symphony who took the time to not only educate me on solar power systems but also organized the conversations among the previously mentioned parties resulting in the work I needed to be covered by warranty and completed quickly by capable technician. From the initial contact through the installation, all team members were professional and focused on completing our project on schedule. From the onset, the process was outlined in detail so we knew what to expect and we received prompt replies to our questions. Moreover, we received proactive emails and telephone calls to keep us updated. It was obvious from prompt responses that there was good communication between members of the team. IMO character of a business in service industry is most important when there are exceptions or things are not going as expected/planned. Working with Solar Symphony has been an amazing experience from start to end. They assigned a professional to take you through every step and they were always on or ahead of schedule. In the 18 months since I contracted Solar Symphony to install solar panels on my residence, I have been very satisfied with their performance. Mike Curtis accurately rated the system (25 panels) for my roof and residence, reducing my annual electrical bills from $3200 to about $150. Their estimate for system pay off at about 4 years (after federal tax credit) is holding true. Their app is very useful for monitoring output on a daily, weekly, monthly, annual or instantaneous basis. This project coincided with a roof replacement and their coordination with the roofer was seamless. And even though I did not expect it, I received a $500 check from Solar Symphony for referring my neighbor to them last year.

Working with Solar Symphony was a complete pleasure. A client of mine hired Solar Symphony to do his residential solar installation and he gave them rave reviews so I contacted them. They were about 30% cheaper than the major players - you know, those guys with the huge sales staff bugging you every time you enter Home Depot or Lowes. The system was affordable enough that we were able to cover our entire electric bill with a system that would pay off in under five years. Much better than any lease. Once we gave the green light, we went from signing the estimate to turning the system on in about 30 days. Most of it was waiting for the city to do their inspection. Installation was two days. The team was professional, courteous and quick. These guys really have their act together and are quite efficient. I recommend Solar Symphony to ANYONE who is thinking about going solar. After you are done, you will run your A/C with no worries and rest easy knowing you just got rid of your electric bill and protected yourself from future pricing increases. These guys rock!

If I could give them more stars I would. The whole process: from signing the contract to final approval from Edison and watching my meter go backwards took all of 3 weeks! Seamless installation, very friendly crew. There was a question on whether the inverter they provided me was going to be expandable for the future and it was determined that while yes, it was expandable for a few more panels it was not big enough for the potential increase of 10 more panels that I foresee doing in the future. They immediately put in an order for the larger unit at no extra charge! Everyone was very good at explaining any questions I had. They were even good about rescheduling my final walkthrough to receive my paperwork when I went on vacation. I will most definitely be telling anyone that will listen to give Solar Symphony a call and ask for Mike Curtis to come talk to them. He is so informative and not pushy at all. I can't say enough about the whole company. Be sure to include them as one of your calls for a quote. You will not be disappointed. The customer service of this company exceeds any I have ever had. Add in the competency of the installers and no pressure sales, you've got a winner! I custom built my house back in 2010 and dealt with every contractor imaginable. I wish everyone had the same attitude as Solar Symphony.

I checked out several different solar companies before making my decision. I was really impressed with the representative from Solar Symphony when he came by our home to give us a quote. He was not too pushy, very honest and knowledgeable. Once I received the quote, it came in as the second lowest among five quotes that I received. Then, once I decided to move forward the process was smooth and they got the system installed and working pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend this installer.

As a 31 year military veteran, my life has been dominated by a "walk the walk" type of mentality. Don't tell me you can do it, show me you did it. Solar Symphony embodies exactly that approach. I started my solar project with two other companies (the planning) and left each because the actions weren't matching the words. I was being handled by salesmen who didn't know rudimentary things such as if the tax credits come off the top or bottom line which is a huge deal and indicative of their focus. Our PM was Mike Curtis and he always answered his phone, was completely knowledgeable, and very fastidious. He never told me one thing that he contradicted later whereas that was my experience with two other companies (and ones I did not seek by random draw...I read reviews and did homework first so they theoretically should be strong companies). Add to all I've said, they finished ahead of schedule with both install AND certification. Finally, they worked with me on ensuring my production requirements were met and I didn't keep hearing, "you can only exceed existing use by 10%" as I want to build a pool and also buy an electric car. Bottom line is they are rock solid and you can't go wrong with this company.

We are very happy with our Solar system from Solar Symphony. This field is crowded with many companies, based on my research we decided to go with a local company and could not be happier. The system is delivering what was promised and was considerably chaeper than their competitors. I normally do not write reviews, but decided to jump in and add to the growing group of satisfied customers because I want folks to know about this small company competing in a huge solar-inundated industry.  Read the comments here and you will see that folks are very pleased with the price, product and work.  I have a insane habit of overanalyzing projects before I pull the trigger.  I received bids from almost a dozen solar companies and ended up with a clear winner.....Solar Symphony.  They listened to my wants and needs, then designed a system with quality materials that fit.  I had a new roof installed in conjunction with rail bracket installation and because the concrete Spanish tile was brand-new (green) I had tile breakage.  Solar Symphony stepped up and fixed it to my satisfaction without hesitation.  Their words to me were "what would you like us to do because we want you to be happy".  Their concern was centered in customer satisfaction AND making it right.  I was impressed and I am not impressed easily.  I do not anticipate selling my home, but if I do I will use Solar Symphony for my next solar project.  Do yourself a favor and call to get a bid.  I predict you will see for yourself the quality of their service and sincere desire to build you a system tailored to you and not some once-size- fits-all system.  Solar Symphony, through their demonstrated work-ethic and customer service, as earned my trust and support.

We had experience with solar panels at our previous house and so knew what we wanted. We saw Solar Symphony working on our neighbors' houses and liked how they worked.  We then asked for a bid and got amazing personal service.  Less than 6 weeks after first starting the project the system is running well.  We compared at least 2 other bids and Solar Symphony beat them.

Solar Symphony was referred to me by my pool contractor Tom Ethans (I also wrote a review of his company). I called Tom for a question about my pool pump, happened to mention that I wasgetting solar bids and he recommended that I give Solar Symphony a call. Tom said Solar Symphony was installing the system at his house. I ended up connecting with Mark Nelson of Solar Symphony. Mark was great to deal with. He was very reachable and responsive to all my questions, no hard sell -- but simply provided me the information I felt I needed to make a decision that I can be happy with. His quote wasbetter than two other bids that I was seriously considering. I was able to reach two of the client references Mark gave, and the references had great feedback (and one taught me a couple of things to consider, too, with regards to my project and contractor selection) Once I signed the contract, the office -- Paula and Summeur -- informed me throughout on the status of my project. My questions were addressed timely and to my satisfaction. They ran into issues getting the permit and the plans approved by my city. That part of the process took longer than I expected, but then again, I know my city can be picky based on prior work done at my house. Then actual installation began. Henry was the project manager -- - he's awesome! Again, another Solar Symphony personnel who made me feel well taken cared off. He even tried to help me troubleshoot an unrelated electrical issue at my house while waiting for the City Inspector to come instead of just waiting and doing nothing. It rained while they were doing the installation and it was cold. Yet, they finished in the time period they estimated before rain began, i.e., three days. They are now helping me with net metering with the SCE.  I'm very happy with my experience with Solar Symphony and I would strongly recommend anyone looking into solar to not make a decision without first talking to them.

It's been about a year since Solar Symphony installed our system. We chose Solar Symphony because we saw our neighbors get their system installed and met the folks doing the installation - Solar Symphony. From the moment my wife and I asked for their business card we had a most satisfying experience. I had Solar Symphony design and install a 10.3 KW solar system for my two story home in Irvine, CA. I chose to use the LG335 panels (31 total). I received quotes from three other highly rated companies. When comparing apples to apples they were the least expensive. From start to finish the process was seemless. They were very good working with the Association and navigating through all their bureaucratic red tape. They always had someone at the house to help walk the local governemtn inspectors through the inspection precess. Ultimately, the job was finished in less than 3 weeks without a hitch.

Every member of their staff was professional, friendly, and knowledgable and the pricing was great too! I strongly recommend this company if your considering photovoltaic systems.

There are so many solar companies, that it is hard to choose. After thorough research, learning, and conversing, we chose Solar Symphony and were very pleased with the entire process, from start to finish. Personnel were professional, and patient, kind, educators, too. Our requests for specific equipment were honored, and the price was fair.

I was extremely impressed with Solar Symphony who installed my 9.3KW system in Sept 2015. Don't waste your time evaluating any others - Solar Symphony rocks! (I will mention this upfront - Just in case you think this review is too good to be true its not and I am not getting paid for it - I have a lot of experience hiring contractors, handymen etc. for various jobs large and small. There guys are one of the best if not the best I have come across in my dealing in San Diego in 20 years!) I am an engineer, heavy DIY'er and did all the research already for all the companies you would likely look at in San Diego or Orange county. They were: - highly professional in all aspects - respectful of my property - very competitively priced and extremely flexible in terms of payment amounts vs. milestones across the duration of the projects - honest and transparent - 2 days for installing 36 panels!! Yes 2 days only - great follow up - went out of their way to research some specific request I had - took initiative where necessary to minimize my time required I researched 7 different companies some big and some small across San Diego area. I chose Solar symphony for the following reasons: - cheapest by far (same panels/inverters setup from others were 20% more $!) - fully transparent, non pushy sales approach - more flexible on payment amounts across different milestones of the projects vs any other company - local company with guarantee of backup funds in case things go wrong in several years - best warranties of all companies on roof work, solar panels Extra things they did above and beyond (and not done by other companies for my neighbors who used some other companies) - did extra work for me without cost (researched local monitoring solution, rewired inverter connection to plug in via wired Ethernet vs. wireless only to my router for data monitoring) - took initiative to paint all conduit to match house and roof, tile stucco color themselves (did not ask me for paint etc.) and did an excellent job that I would be proud of myself. - I am a big DIY guy and the job they did was very professional and very secure racking for the panels, nicely uniform setting of the panels and discussed with me at my house before making any changes some slight changes of the layout they thought maybe good vs. original layout on drawings - Priority for them was on a good install and satisfied customer. Second was the payment.... shows where they focus is on customer service - EXCELLENT. I have recommended them already to several friends and neighbor vs. any other company in San Diego like Baker, Sullivan, Petersen Dean, Semper Solaris, Solar Alliance, Helio Power, etc. (I evaluated all of them and being and engineering Solar Symphony was by far the best). My system has been up for 4 months now and operating flawlessly and 0 issues of any sort.

First, I am an IT project manager who was an electrician in his 20's. I knew solar was a "no-brainer", but making an informed choice on which company to use is hard work. I looked at it for over a year and I did my homework. I decided on Solar Symphony b/c they'd also done their homework. The equipment was right. The engineering design was right. The price was right. The references checked out. From the point I signed the agreement, they got the designs, permits, installed, inspection, and had PTO in less than 60 days. Solar Symphony was the best company I have worked with.... Maybe ever. From the first meeting to give us a bid to the last meeting to show us how the system works, the professionalism and customer service was exemplary. They performed more work with better components for less money than any of the Companies we contacted. Their staff kept us abreast of the paperwork and permit progression. Helped us with our portion of the paperwork. Stayed on schedule with installation (early in fact). Performed professional installation including special mounts for a Spanish tile roof. In all...... I was impressed from start to finish with Solar Symphony. Their product is first rate and their people are professional, timely, knowledgeable and helpful. First, talking on the phone with Robert, he was able to tell me initially based on my electricity bill whether or not going solar was financially a gain for me. Second, Mark, our area's representative, came prepared, was knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the entire process. Clearly, four our family, going solar was a win. Doing it now was calculated because of the big rebates currently available and net metering. The whole process was fairly quick, from start to finish, and the actual installation took only one day plus a couple of hours the next morning to finish up a few small things. The inspection process by the city was smooth. I was really glad we did not go with a PPA or a leasing company for solar. Our solar will be paid off within 5 years and then we will be enjoying free (or close to it) electricity for another long time! Yahoo! Solar Symphony is a great company that stands behind their product and if you do have any minor hiccups (we did with our mapping), they fix them very quickly and do whatever it takes to make things right. I highly recommend them.

Where do we begin... From the top to the bottom Solar Symphony has professionals at every point in the process. Not only did they have the best cost for our particular system, but they went above and beyond at every level. We had several conversations from sales, operations, and the owner and found them to be extremely polite, courteous, honest, responsive and flexible. In addition to setting up the traditional solar, they were able to accommodate my request to install a 240 Volt Charger for our Ford Focus EV. I am the epitome of Analysis Paralysis and finding the right solar company was no exception. After sitting down or talking to 9 different providers, I quickly realized there were two camps: PPA [20-yr lease] pushers and IMO the better option, solar purchase. I was interested in buying the system and obtaining a low interest rate 10 yr loan (Home Equity or Solar) with monthly payments that were lower cost to than our average monthly electric bill. So we were down to about 4 companies that actually wanted to sell the system without leasing. BTW I checked what it would cost to buy the equivalent system from those PPA leasing companies and it turns out it was about a 30-50% premium. yikes. Don't get me wrong, PPAs may make sense for folks who do not have the cash or means to get a low interest long term loan. After narrowing to 4 companies, I then had two friends recommend Solar Symphony, but I already had 4 solid quotes from 4 great solar companies, so I was a little skeptical. Mark, one of Solar Symphony's account managers, was extremely professional and cut through the bologne. He's able to converse on all levels, but I wanted to know the details basically how much, how long, and when. The major botteleneck in 'how log' as one would suspect is the power company SDGE. Their quote was the best in our case and they agreed to flexible payment options and installing the EV charger at cost. Obviously don't just trust these rave reviews, Go and get quotes from the reputable solar companies and I strongly believe you will find Solar Symphony to the be the lowest cost, highest quality/service companies in San Diego! Thanks Solar Symphony, I no longer pay any electrical bills for the house or my commuter EV car. Our break even is shorter than I expected ~ 6.5 years. AWESOME SAUCE!

I just received by end of year statement from SDG&E. With the net metering, my total electric bill for this past year was only $46.66! I am very happy with the results. Solar Symphony delivered what they promised!

We looked at installing solar for about eight months.Talk to many different solar companies almost went with a competitor that promised A better price then Solar Symphony for the same product when it came time to sign the contract they couldn't deliver (Verengo). Rob Smith was upfront with everything we feel we got a great price for a great product . Dave Adams was in charge of the installation and it went very smooth on time work around my schedule very professional Dave and his whole crew. I would say if you are looking for Solar definitely give them a call and find out what they can do we have nothing but good things to say about Solar Symphony.

Great experience. I found solar symphony after looking around a lot, and scanning forums online. The cost was way better than competitors and the workmanship seems great. They met all promised timelines and they even absorbed the cost when my system needed to be a little larger than first calculated. Make sure to compare them to any solar quote you receive as I did. I am very paranoid about getting ripped off and know I got a great deal.

I'm so pleased with this company. I was leery about choosing a solar company after hearing other people's bad experiences. They have been professional, courteous & reassuring. There was always someone that would answer my numerous questions that I had during the process. I definitely would recommend them to my family and friends. I wouldn't chose another company if I had to do it all over again. The only thing I would tell someone who lives in my district is that it takes the city quite awhile to inspect and approve the system.

Solar Symphony installed a 13.75kW system and they delivered on their promise of a quick installation, even with the County of San Diego and SDG&E having to be involved. The system is everything they said it would be and the price was far below the advertising competition. Solar Symphony was referred to me by a very happy customer and I referred them as well. I decided years ago to do solar but it never penciled out and the most I can get on my roof was about half my usage. Technology has advanced and new panels are more efficient and while prices may have not gone done, electric rates have gone up about 50% for me in the past 2 years so if your on the fence, now is the time to do. Payback is about 4-7 years which is pretty good. So why Solar Symphony? I had about 5 bids and pretty much knew what I wanted in terms of capacity, panel brand (LG) and inverter brand (SMA) and most sent out sales people of questionable knowledge of the systems. Solar Symphony actually was the first that came out that really knew their stuff and it didn't hurt that their prices for the equipment that I got were also lower. They did the design and sent it off for city approval which took a few weeks. They then came out to install and that took a few days but another week or so to get city inspection and another few weeks to get power company permission to operate. Overall the experience was very good and I would recommend Solar Symphony for price, quality of work, knowledge of the product and quality of equipment. I look forward to many years of free electricity.

From the first encounter with the sales representative, through the install, to the point of training on how to monitor the equipment we have been quite satisfied with Solar Symphony. Unlike some of the other sales representatives, the Solar Symphony sales representative did not attempt any “high pressure” techniques to make a sale that day. He presented the company, their product, service and support information in a factual and confident manner without disparaging any other company. At the end of the presentation he told us that we had as much time as we need to decide. The sales representative allowed the data and reputation of the company make the sale. Price was also a consideration when making our decision, as well as confidence that we would be receiving value for the price. Solar Symphony described in detail how they select their panels, how and where on the house the panels will be installed. They also gave the breakdown on the relative cost of various types of panels and their conversion rates. The price quoted at the beginning of the conversation was the one at the end of the conversation and the one that made it to contract. In contrast to one of the other San Diego based companies which came in with an initial quote 65% higher than that of Solar Symphony and throughout the discussion competitor’s sales representative kept providing financial incentives to go with them. This went on to the point where the initial quote had no basis in reality. I had the confidence with Solar Symphony that the quote I received was a fare price. The install went over without a hitch. It took place on the day and time agreed upon. The staff was courteous, timely and respectful. Solar Symphony took care of all the inspections. All we had to do was wait for the system to be approved by the city and activated. I have nothing but good things to say about the company and the employees who work there. I would recommend Solar Symphony to anyone considering installing solar panels on their homes.
