I had a great experience working with Solar Energy World on my recent solar panel installation. From start to finish, the process was smooth, professional, and well-communicated. Joshua, my sales rep and main point of contact, was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and always responsive to my many questions. He made what could’ve been a complicated process feel easy and manageable. Victoria handled the administrative side of things with impressive efficiency. I especially appreciated that she dealt directly with my HOA (not always the easiest group to work with), saving me time and hassle. The install team was excellent—quick, professional, and super friendly throughout. There was a small mix-up during the process, but the team lead, Tanner, immediately took action to correct it. He escalated the issue to Santos, a manager, who personally called me to walk through our options. He was clear, reassuring, and committed to making sure everything got sorted out—and it did. Overall, I highly recommend Solar Energy World. They communicate well and care about doing a good job. Great experience all around!

Happy with our solar installation

We have had our solar panels for several months now, and they are working perfectly. The installation team did an excellent job. The only problem we had was that although the solar panels were installed in December 2024, they forgot to have the crew come the same day to put in the conduit from the garage (where the panels were installed) to our house where the electricity panel is located. That work was not done until January, which means we lost out on claiming the federal tax credit until 2026. We hope we will still get the credit. The Trump Administration has dealt a heavy blow to the solar industry. All of us who care about the environment should vote against Trump whenever possible.

Dissappointed

I am extremely disappointed with the service and lack of professionalism from Solar Energy World. The installation crew left a mess in our home, showing a complete lack of respect for our property. To make matters worse, Dawson Baus told me the crew would be coming on July 2, but no one showed up and I received no communication or apology — only Jairo Valderrama reached out later to reschedule for July 7 at 8:00 AM. Yet again, no one came, no one called, and I was left waiting. I even texted Emily Connel for an update and never received a response. To top it all off, the inspection is scheduled for July 9, and nothing is completed. This company seriously lacks communication, punctuality, and respect for customers' time. I expected much more from a professional solar company. I would not recommend Solar Energy World based on my experience.

Solar panels

Well my solar advisor was Hugo Degan nice gentleman and very knowledgeable guy he treat me great answer all my questions about solar and I did ask a lot about equipment specs of panels inverted production all that I could found and he got me all the information that i needed. I got different quotes of other companies and he was on top to match and get even better deal for me. Open to negotiate price terms and needs for my solar panel system so 5 start for Hugo and Solar Energy world.

Great company

The process was super easy and straight forward with Damien. Everything was handled by Solar Energy World. Our system has been in for 6 months and I have had zero issues! Highly recommend.

Shoddy work

Originally everything was fine. We had to have the panels removed for a roof replacement. Since then we have had 2 leaks in a brand new (less than 6 years) old roof (first time less than a year which they argued about but did repair the leak and the ceiling below). Now I'm being told that my installation warranty has expired and for $149/hour they would come look at it. I asked how long this warranty, that I was never told about, was in effect but I can't even get someone to respond to my emails. My roofer advised that he believes that the improper installation caused many of the original issues but unfortunately we can't prove it. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone else as I have done in the past. I know of at least one person who purchased from them based on my recommendation.

Great until something breaks

We have 1/3 of our panels not producing energy going into the summer and are told that we have to wait over a month to get a person to even come out and look at them. Based on interactions so far I’m worried if repairs are required it might be much longer until the repairs are actually done. That’s unacceptable and makes me very worried about continuing with this company although I’m not sure I have much of a choice. They were great for install, but support so far is not great. Their response was literally, “well, other companies take longer.”

Excellent installation and support

I had 5KW solar installation in February. The installers were quick, the followup with the county and utility company was simple as they did everything. My system is working as well as expected. The pricing was lower than others I contacted.

Wonderful experience

I have had positive interactions from all aspects of our experience with Solar Energy World. They have responded to all of our requests expediently and courteously. The panels were installed expeditiously and without incident. The inspection process with our utility company was flawless and the switchover was smooth. Hats off to SEW for easing my apprehension of converting to solar. I never felt pressured or pushed into making a decision, and all of their staff is very friendly and transparent.

When 60% of my array goes on out why do I have to wait six weeks

I paid 55k for this system and 40% of the array is working the other 60% does not work. It’s been out for three weeks now solar energy world tells me I need to wait another month for them to get a check out here to figure this out, I regret buying this.

Great company to work with, super happy!

Paul and Solar Energy World were absolutely fantastic to work with. They were no pressure to purchase. They were upfront about the pricing and followed through with everything that they told me I’ve had my solar up and running for about four or five months now and everything has lined up with what they expected. And I’m super happy with my $12 a month electric bills.

A very good experience - start to finish ....

This was a very smooth process from initial contact thru post-installation explanations. I think the price was reasonable - in fact I was a little surprised it wasn't higher. I appreciate the "soft" sale mentality - SEW has a good product, its reps know it, and they don't feel the need to oversell. When I decided the solar battery pack was way more than I needed, the salesman immediately backed off. The installation process was smooth. And now - and part of me doesn't really believe it - the damn thing appears to be working. Energy from the Sun - Imagine that! This was an outstanding sales and installation experience by what appears to be a very well-managed company. I commend it.

Solar panels and Power Wall installation

Solar Energy World was very easy to work with. They had already performed many installations in our community, so there was no learning curve required. All the inspections went quickly and my electrical meter was swapped out to allow bi-directional metering. I had very little to do in order to accomplish this other than learn about how to control the system. I couldn’t have asked for a better company.

Glad I went solar

I decided to purchase solar through our county's coop program. Solar Energy World was elected to service this coop based on a number of factors like years in business, scale, reviews and so forth. I will say my county did their homework because working with Solar Energy World was great! Josh Nagel, my advisor, was with me from day 1 fielding all my questions and concerns. He was available through email and text and made this whole process as easy as possible. Also big kudos to the installer team for finishing a 13.2kw system in just a half day. I recently got my PTO and seeing my energy consumption offset by solar is such a great feeling and I'm sure that feeling will be even better once my lowered utility bill comes in. Highly recommend Solar Energy World! They use great panels (Longhi) and inverters (Enphase), were able to walk me along the entire journey which speaks to their deep expertise, and offered great prices! For what it's worth, they were the cheapest in my area though going through a coop helps!

any maintenance is ignored after install

Before install, I definitely felt they were very pushy and changed what I was told initially two to three times which was really frustrating because I thought I understood everything and then they would alter something, and I can't say all of it was truly justified. They are also located in Maryland and take Virginia residents yet complain about the traffic and the drive. The scheduler complained, the employees complained, everyone seems to complain about it and I don't understand why you would have a company everyone based in one spot but accept customers elsewhere and complain to the customer about the travel. That is not my fault and not my concern... I should not be bearing the burden of feeling guilty about it but they lay it in thick. Days before install I asked over email all what they needed access to so I could ensure everything was easy as my house is older and things like the utility room are cramped as I use them for storage. I was told just the attic, the roof, and the hot water heater. I cleaned out the entire area around the hot water heater and moved it into a nearby room trusting that there was no reason they needed to have access to the water shut off since they mentioned nothing of it. WithOUT my permission, they opened that room door, moved a bunch of stuff, broke things!!, and closed the door before they left without ever telling me that they went in there. When I went to move everything back and found out, I contacted them and was ignored.  A bit after install, I noticed there was a bunch of leaves building up in their critter guard. I contacted them and they sent a person out who confirmed that it was improperly installed. They tried to fix it the best they could and said if I have any further problems to let them know. Months go by and it's building up again so I contact again, this time I am told that I will be charged a service fee if it is not their fault. I said I can't afford the service fee and they need to come fix it, it's been silenced since then and the requests for reviewing them that were sent at LEAST every 3 weeks also stopped. Hopefully this doesn't ruin my new roof!!  I'm supposed to have guaranteed maintenance on this system and I'm being ignored so there's no way in good faith I'd recommend this company. Nothing is as they claim during the first meeting and they don't stand behind their work either. 

Fantastic experience

We debated for a while between Solar Energy World, some of its competitors, and Project Solar, and I'm so glad that we went with Solar Energy World. Our salesperson, Andy, is top notch and has been the most responsive sales representative that I've ever worked with. Beyond that, the rest of the team has been incredibly fast, responsive, and generally helpful. Solar panels have been installed, and we're an inspection away from going live a month or two ahead of schedule. In general, there have been a few mistakes in the process (i.e. conduit was initially routed differently than the HOA-approved diagram), but SEW has been quick to fix each time anything is raised.

Smooth experience

Working with Solar Energy World was easy. Larkin Keys was our Field Energy Advisor. He was knowledgeable and responsive to all of our questions. Coordination between the different departments from sales through installation was seamless. Would recommend working with them.
