Solar Energy World really impressed us!

The entire team of Solar Energy World was amazing! We appreciate the kindness and consideration shown to us with every step of the process. Everything was explained clearly and they all were so supportive. Whenever we had a concern or question and we called, there was a quick response and resolution. The process was very smooth and exciting. Even though we had a tight schedule, they worked with us to finish by the end of the calendar year.

Good install; only minor issues

Solar energy world (SEW) installed our 7.28 kW system a few months ago. They did everything they said they would do. The salesman, Dave, was great. He was accessible by email and was reasonably responsive. I would recommend them. I only had a few minor issues: 1. I found a few mistakes and discrepancies in their engineering diagrams as compared to what was actually installed on my house. Likewise, there were a few errors in the permitting documents. Most of these were trivial, however, and none of them affected my system status. 2. I found that although SEW was responsive to my inquiries, they were much, much more responsive before I signed the contract. And, after I had paid, and there were only minor issues to fix/paper work to be submitted, the responsiveness fell off again. I am not saying that they weren't responsive, but they were definitely less responsive and I had to work harder to get their attention. Eventually, they got everything squared away. 3. Before I signed the contract they had me fill out a sales experience survey that then promised me a $100 gift card if I continued on to sign with them. After my system was installed and they were paid, I asked where the gift card was. First, they said they weren't going to give it to me because I got some sort of special price. When I complained that a caveat or limitation on the offer was never issued, they promised me that they would give me the gift card after all. First they said they would drop it off when they dropped off my warranty information booklet. But, at that meeting, they told me they didn't have it and that they would mail it to me. That was 3 months ago and still no gift card. I am pretty sure I am never going to see the promised gift card. As it is only $100, it is not a huge deal. But, I expect them to make good on their word, especially as it was marketed as a signing incentive. It seems they will say a lot of things in order to get you to sign. In my experience, most of these solar panel companies are charlatans. They act like used car salesmen. We had some bad experiences with a few who came to give us quotes. SEW was the least sketchy of the bunch and was the most knowledgeable about local laws, ordinances, codes and engineering. Overall, I would say it was a positive experience. My system is installed and is working and all the paperwork is taken care of. So, there is not much I could complain about.

Excellent Service and Follow-Up

Solar Energy World provided excellent installation services with actual electricians that were expert at what they did. The County inspector was very impressed with the quality of their work and even asked me how I found them. Additionally, Solar Energy World monitors the production of the panels once they are on to ensure that you are getting the maximum potential from them. If the panel production is low they will contact you and follow up with inspection/repair if necessary. The panel production promised is guaranteed by them as well. I take Solar Energy World over Solar City any day!

We've been very pleased with the performance of our system. Since the installation in march we've over produced and our bge bill's have been in the negative . We also have a rental property in southern maryland that we're having a system installed on.

Very professional installation and service

Right from the initial engagement to the time the system was turned on and became operational, Solar Energy World provided excellent customer service. A few minor glitches that led to electrical installation not getting approved during first inspection were fixed with minimal delay and the rest of the process went through successfully. A very satisfying experience indeed.

Pretty smooth installation

The financing option was very easy and a big selling point. The installation went pretty smoothly, except for the way the conduits were installed across the side of my house, which was fixed satisfactorily when I complained about it, altho why it was done that way in the first place, I don't understand. The overall package was the best of the businesses I interviewed and I interviewed at least 7 or 8 businesses. And so far things seem to be working fine. However, it's only been about a week since the project was finished.

Solar Energy World = Outstanding, Cost Effective, Professional..

Solar Energy World did an amazing Job of designing, getting approvals, and installing a large Ground Mount system for us. We checked several other solar energy providers and none proposed as large a solar array and none offered as good a power purchase agreement price as Solar Energy World. If you are evaluating installation of a solar array don't commit to any other provider until you have had Solar Energy World provide you a proposal. Besides giving us the best price and largest solar array than the competition Solar Energy World was extremely competent, professional, and communicated with the customer during the entire design, approval and installation process. They are an outstanding company that I can not say enough for how satisfied we are that we contracted with Solar Energy World.

We had a very good experience with Solar Energy World. They worked around our extended schedule, took care of all the grunt work (dealing with the County, the HOA, and Electric company) and were very professional throughout the process. Thanks S.E.W.!

Overall Happy

Our salesman, Jay, was very knowledgeable and helpful. The process between us signing and when they were installed took longer than originally expected and I would have liked more communication during the wait time. The installation went great and the installers were very nice and thorough. We had an issue with our system not communicating with the app. There was multiple attempts to send someone out to look at the system and they would either cancel or not show up. That was frustrating and disappointing but now the system for the most part stays connected. We are still generating solar when it is not connected, we just may not have up to date info on the app. After midnight it always catches up.

Satisfaction review.

The initial presentation and sales pitch went well.Once I decided to go with you, Things took exceptionally long.The electrician did his thing but would not take the pipes thru the joists but rather under. Then he moved the circuit breaker for my furnace to somewhere and did not relabel the breaker box. When to crew took down quite a bit of the foil backed insulation to install the inverter and indoor meter, they did not replace any of it and left some of the bare wall showing. I have already recommended my brother who had some of the same issues. I now have another neighbor who asked me about it.

Happy with product and people

Everyone was courteous, knowledgeable and did their best to provide us with a product that is performing exceptionally well. Our system is ground-mounted, and well placed in an area of our property where it receives the maximum amount of sunlight possible without intruding on the aesthetics of the property. Our daily production is excellent. Weather conditions prevented the installation as quickly as hoped, but the schedule moved as quickly as possible despite the many regulatory requirements and permits. Solar Energy World moved things along like a well oiled machine, grinding through the paperwork, coordinating numerous installation personnel, and outside contractors - all this despite our remote location and the distances each crew traveled to reach our property. Our solar array is a sight to behold - the frame is solid, the panels beautiful, the electrical conduits installed as requested, the meters and inverters firmly affixed in a convenient location for us and our utility meter readers. The remote monitoring is an excellent feature as well which can be accessed by us and Solar Energy World to ensure the system is working as it should. I would highly recommend Solar Energy World to anyone interested in saving the environment and enjoying all the benefits of solar energy production - Solar Energy World is a class act.

Competent, Efficient, Best Customer Cost Effictiveness

Solar Energy World is the only installer who would provide a ground mount solar array which was large enough to maximize the Solar generation needed for our large electric usage. Eric Winkler did a great job of explaining the process and the options available to us. We shopped several solar power providers and Eric representing Solar Energy World offered us the largest Solar Array (Ground Mount) and the best life cycle cost to the customer. Matt and the Solar Energy World installation team along with their subcontractors were very efficient, knowledgeable, competent, courteous and kept us informed and coordinated with the installation process. While the contract is with Sun Run I would suggest any one check with Solar Energy World directly and not initially through Sun Run. I highly recommend Solar Energy World to anyone contemplating the installation of a Solar Array and a power purchase agreement for onsite Solar power generation.

Solar install - great job start to finish

They handled everything well. From the initial contact, to the sales pitch, to working out my installation to meet my expectations, to the install. We even had a hiccup, as I had installed a new standing seam metal roof and the clamps that would hold the rails and panels weren't quite the right size. But they resolved that and got my install done on the same day.

I'd like to rate Solar Energy World as Excellent - because they certainly are thorough. However, even though the installation on the front of the house was per design, it didn't turn out as we had hoped - is really rather ugly. The installation for the back of the house is not as originally planned, but is fine. We have a promise to come and move one panel on the front, and paint the visible aluminum black. Some of the paint has been applied; the front panel could not be moved at the time because the incorrect materiel was on the truck. We would like to have some idea as to when the job will be complete, and do understand that Solar Energy World is busy. The system is up and running, no matter how it looks, and is producing more than we had expected.

From the initial sales presentation to the final inspection, Solar Energy World personnel were very professional. They answered all of my questions throughout the process and handled all documentation from HOA approval to the state/county incentive application. I am a very satisfied customer.

Let the Sun Shine

It has been a wonderful experience, we enjoy watching the "meter run backwards". We designed our home to be passive solar thirty-six years ago, the solar gain from that in the winter time is great, the panels are icing on the cake.

Proud of our Solar

For several years I have been thinking and looking into solar and in the fall of 2015 I contracted with Solar Energy World for two systems. I have a 141 acre farm in Western Howard County MD and I decided to put one system on a horse barn to feed into my home and cover the multiple barns and then I needed a larger second system to go on the roof of my landscape / construction building to take care of our offices, shop, and warehouse. After price shopping and hearing out 4 different business I selected Solar Energy World and I was very happy with the entire process. The salesman Brent Cotton knows his stuff and was easy to work with, the filed manager Danny Polk came out and walk the farm with me talking about different ways he could do the install and then went back to work with the County Inspectors to get special permission on a vibratory trenching method in which to install the 600' of conduit in my horse pasture (saved us from having an injured horse). There crew was nice and kept the site clean, did what they said they were going to do and no extra charges were incured. In my world you can't ask for more than that. Thank you to the whole Solar Energy Team, great job!

Fantastic experience

Every person we interacted with from this company has been courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable, and that includes the salesman, the receptionist, the system designer, the installers, the CEO (yes, the CEO personally called to confirm the appt and even showed up after the install to meet us, see how everything went, and pick up our check), the service tech, everyone. Fantastic experience with everyone in the whole company. Can't say enough good things about them.

From sales pitch to install Solar Energy World (SEW), was personable, comprehensive and responsive. My system was installed in 4 days and they kept me posted thru the entire process of post install steps. In all there were 5 months between sign up and operation. I am very pleased with my decision to go with SEW.

Ground and Roof Mount Panels

Solar Energy World did an excellent job on the solar panel project at our house. They were professional and thorough. As our project involved both roof and ground mount arrays, it was a complicated project. Everyone who worked on it was helpful and did a professional job. The system has been up and operating for about a month and is performing slightly above the estimates provided by Solar Energy World. I have no problem recommending their work. My only negative comment is that they could have done a better job communicating about what was going on. Our timeline was stretched as work was delayed by winter weather, so that the entire process from contract to turning the system on was over six months. They always responded promptly to my inquiries, but I always had to call them rather than receiving regular updates. Otherwise, it was a job well done.

FANTASTIC!!!

Rarely do I take the time to post reviews but when a company and a salesperson deliver exactly what they promised I think its important. My sales rep Eric and Solar Energy World were over the top professional. They always kept me informed every step of the way. They handled every single aspect of the installation just as they said they would. I really didn't have to lift a finger. When I did have a question Eric responded within minutes. I really had no intention of "going solar" until I met with them. I learned about the company and how the system works. I should have done this years ago. I highly recommend them.

Excellent service from start to finish! The sales consultant was knowledgeable and not at all pushy. All of the people we interacted with from this company were friendly and polite. Any questions I had were answered quickly. I have already recommended them to several people!

New to the Solar World

I just want to say that our salesperson, Jay Randall, is an absolute saint to put up with my incessive questions and coming out to our house on numerous occassions to make sure we were (me really) to help understand what we invested in. We haven't had our system long enough to see the cost savings but, I am on my app everyday looking at how much energy we are bringing in and I get so excited when I see it reach into the 60-70 mark. I also want to say that the installation crew that installed our panels were very friendly and professional.
