Great Communication!

Solar Energy World made the process as easy as possible. We interviewed a few companies; the prices were all similar, but we felt comfortable both with the equipment and the people with Solar Energy World, and we were not disappointed. The communication was just superb; we had Nick Brigg’s cell number so I could directly reach out at any moment, but honestly I didn’t even need it — at every step they reached out and told us what was happening next so we never felt in the dark or wondering what we needed to do. It was very reassuring with as big a process as installing solar. The team that did the installation was great — very polite, and did a fast and clean job. And now we are making our own clean electricity!! I will also give Nick an extra shout out for taking the time to help me learn more about solar even beyond just our home install -- really hugely helpful.

I'm a big fan of my experience with Solar Energy World, they've done a great job understanding my concerns and explaining the decisions to me. Where other companies would try to upsell me, even suggesting I put solar panels on the north (aka less efficient) side of the house, or try to get me to buy extras like batteries, I have a net billing through my power company so SEW didn't try any of those. While other companies would try to put a lien on my house, or asked me to clear cut trees, or would say "the (sales) system won't let me" when I asked why they wouldn't put solar panels in certain places, SEW was able to explain to me the fire codes, the inspection process, and was there every step of the way. The installation was great, weeks ahead of schedule, and the crew was professional and cared about the outcomes.

A wonderful experience switching to solar

I cannot recommend SEW strongly enough. From initial conversations to final installation, my experience has been smooth and very pleasant. Our sales contact, Daren, helped us along the way, answering all sorts of questions, walking us through the system design, financing options etc so there were no surprises. Things took a long time due to delays with city permits, but Daren kept us in the loop, giving regular updates. When it was finally installation time, the crew did a fantastic job. Damian and the crew answered all my questions, were very open to discussing alternatives on where to put the pipes and the outdoor disconnect, and they were very transparent on what will go where so there we no surprises. The work is also amazingly clean and of great quality. Other than the disconnect that has to be in the front of the house (the only accessible place, per code), you actually cannot tell that our townhome has solar system because all the pipes etc blend with what's already on the side of our building. All in all, if I could give this company more stars, I definitely would. I would very strongly recommend anyone looking to switch to solar to give them a call. You will be taken care of.

Solar Energy World Made Solar Easy

From start to finish Solar Energy World made solar a reality after many years. From the start Jay was great in explaining the process, cost, permits, installation and final inspection. The team was great in keeping me informed via email of next steps. It was super helpful that I didn't have to apply for permits or SRECS or rebates, they did all the work. The installation team was great to work with, super considerate during the installation and where box and electric ran to make it appealing from the curb. It was so nice to have one stop shop that was local. Highly recommend Solar Energy World and have broadcast my praises to the list serv.

Best Energy related decision ever!!!!

I'm so happy with my decision to buy solar panels with Solar Energy World that I am having them installed on ALL of my investment properties. The company is definitely a 5 star entity led by Pete Barnes with his professional and highly competent expertise. Whenever I had questions or concerns, Pete has always been there to provide insight and guidance. The installation team was sensational as they completed their assignment in a matter of a few days. The best part, is seeing the sub $10 electric bills from BG&E. The amount of money that I will be saving will be like having a small part time job, not to mention all of the other monetary benefits (federal tax credit, Maryland state tax credit...) I recommended this company to my next door neighbor, and she is as ecstatic as I am. If you are a homeowner, I would not wait to make this move. My only mistake is that I should have done this sooner. Yay Solar Energy World!!!

Solar Energy World has been great to work with, from the beginning with the sales led by Jeff Nachman, the process went exactly as it was described to me, friendly, on time, quality work. I did extensive research before choosing SEW, and it was so worth it.

Impressive Results - Glad I went Solar

I went solar with Solar Energy World and the experience was great. I worked with Jeff Nachman throughout the project. He provided valuable education resources and answered all of my questions when I did my research on the viability and system payback on solar. I researched competing installation companies and other panel brands that his company did not offer. Jeff at no time tried to "Sell Me" with high pressure tactics. He was very responsive and seemingly available, day or night. Even after the job was completed, Jeff has continued to stay in touch and assist with the filings for tax credits and other nuances to SREC trading. Even during installation, some of my landscaping was damaged, and Solar Energy World quickly reimbursed me for damages without any hassle. They delivered as promised, the installation looks amazing. Just got my first BGE bill & I couldn’t be happier!!

First class team and product

Solar Energy World has made our transition to solar power a rewarding and easy experience. They have courteous, knowledgeable, and diligent staff covering the entire process from product selection, design, HOA approval, installation, integration, and inspection. Their installation team was exceptional, taking care to keep our new cat inside the house and out of the attic as they did their work. Starting on a Friday, they had a very aggressive installation schedule to meet. Two of their electricians, Rodney and Elijah, changed their Saturday plans to complete the job, demonstrating their first class commitment to getting it done. Although to early to assess, the panel system shows a capacity to meet or exceed projected yearly totals.

We purchased our system out right with solar energy world and while it was the largest single item purchase we have made on our property....... Jeff held our hand the whole way thru the process and was the estimator and go to guy thru the project. Yes we talked to the rest of his team, I like to have 1 neck to ring and he answered many calls early in the morning and late at night. The install team was amazing, they installed my system in a snow storm on a frozen hill multiple days in a row. It was so cold, and I felt so bad (but wanted my system installed) that I got a burn barrel and fire wood for them to warm up a bit every now and again. Seriously these guys rock! And I don't have a energy bill anymore take that B.G.E. :) highly recommended, I have other properties we are looking at now.

We are very pleased and impressed with the service we received from Solar Energy World. Before we contacted your company, our research revealed that it has a stellar reputation. In time, we understood why. From the very start, Nick Briggs proved to be a very knowledgeable, patient, professional, accessible, kind, and polite expert. He provided us with user-friendly presentations, walked us through all of the items to be considered before we made a decision, and repeatedly answered our many questions. He always made himself available to take our unscheduled calls, coordinated communication with other departments (which proved particularly helpful with our HOA), and kept us in the loop each step of the way. In addition to being technically solid, Nick was very friendly and honest, which made us feel very comfortable with him and Solar Energy World. When it came time to install our solar panels, we were also impressed with the installation crew. Jesse and his crew were very efficient, professional, and polite. The finished product looks elegant and will easily meet the visual requirements of our HOA. The crew also respected our property, cleaned up debris, and followed safety protocol inside and outside of our house.

Needless to say, this is a competitive business, and no fewer than five different companies contacted me about our solar project. What made the choice for us, though, was Victor. We talked briefly about our project, then more extensively on a series of Zoom calls. He was and is very efficient, competent, and communicative. I felt we were in good hands, and made the decision to go with Solar Energy World almost at once. Victor has been incredibly helpful and attentive, without being too pushy. I think it helped that he is naturally friendly. We even traded recipes! Victor, and indeed every member of the installation team, was professional and helpful, and all were great representatives of your team at SEW.

Sooth sailing with SOLAR

I was pondering to install solar panels on my new home roof. I had pursued a different vendor initially which was a total mess leaving me confused and hopeless. I wasted 6 months for no progress. Reluctantly, I did internet search and found Solar Energy World and requested help. Right from the get go,I got great service. I received up to date information about the entire process. After initial introductory call, I had an hour long technical call where they went over the process step by step. I was pleasantly surprised about the various federal, state and local discounts I could receive. All of the paperwork were done by the company perfectly without any effort from me (other than signatures). I signed the contract and the process was very smooth, efficient and informative. I was kept informed each step of the way with calls/emails and/or messages. They were easily reachable and always proactive with all required forms as well as installation and approval processes. I was given adequate time to prepare for each step. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to complete installation, approval and system turned on all within the estimated time proposed during the initial call! Every person I encountered was polite, professional and helpful. I highly recommend Solar Energy World for all.

Wanted a solar system, contacted several companies, Solar Energy World satisfied our objectives. The team was thorough, responsive, informative, diligent, respectful and provided quality work.

Going local was worth it!

I selected SEW for a few reasons - their detailed project plan and estimate, the zoom call I had with Pete Barnes where he patiently answered all my questions, the cost and panel layout comparison with other bids I got, and last but not least, because I wanted to give business to a local company. One of the main benefits of the local choice was that they had a good grasp of the requirements that both the state and the county imposed on solar panel installations, and were up front about what they could and could not do. I also was reassured that Pete lived in the neighborhood and in any case was just a call away for any questions before and after the installation. SEW set up everything from getting approval from the local architectural committee to the county inspections required. The installation itself went very smoothly and I was informed in advance at every stage as to what would happen next, and there was always a follow-up email after as well, including the county inspections and the BGE interconnect for the net metering. The only thing that caused me some concern and trepidation was the gap between signing the contract and fixing the date for the installation - which was almost 4 months during which I hardly got any updates (I was of course aware of the impact that the pandemic was having on supply chains and staffing). Overall, I'm very happy with my solar panels as well as the Enphase monitoring system, and am really glad that I "went local"!

Excellent Customer Service

I used to work in the residential solar energy industry, so when I reached out to Solar Energy World for solar on my new residence, I knew what questions to ask and what the answers should be. Jon Crill answered my questions honestly and accurately, and never tried to up-sell me or over-promise. The price was competitive and fair, so I decided that Solar Energy World was the right company for my solar project. The communication from the installation and scheduling teams was timely and informative and the installers were friendly. The install looks clean and neat (unlike some of the larger company installs that I've seen). I'm happy I FINALLY was able to go Solar and even happier that I picked the right company!

Highly Recommend Solar Energy World

The entire process was professional. Paul Skorochod was knowledgeable and responsive throughout the entire course of our design, approval, installation and inspection. (Pat O’Brian filled for Paul on the day of the inspection when Paul was on vacation and was also very professional and helpful.). Our system is working well and producing more electricity than estimated in the design report.

Solar Energy World did a really great job on the installation with great crews showing up at each step of the way. While the process took a bit longer than I originally expected, Solar Energy World did a great job at setting timing expectations and typically finishing the different steps in the process ahead of their suggested dates. We ran in to a couple snafus during the process tied that could not have been foreseen, and they worked diligently to resolve the issues with very minimal impact to me -- I truly think they set a customer satisfaction standard as far as I'm concerned. I was even more pleased to see that they completed the process of applying for both SRECs and the Fairfax County property tax exemption on my behalf which were frankly steps I assumed I would be doing on my own. Their above-and-beyond service to exceed my expectations was truly appreciated there. My purchase was initated via Solarize NOVA campaign which I would highly recommend to make the decision and process even easier.

Best service ever

Absolutely the best experience in all sense: product quality/price ratio, warrantee length and coverage, project planning, approval and installation process, onsite teams, post-sales followups, etc. Jeff (the salesperson) is the best: his presentation is very friendly, educational, no purchase pressure at all. The company takes care all the paperwork, but keep me well informed on every steps. Jeff follows through the whole installation process and make sure everything is done correctly and quickly. Since I started to shop around, it took about 3 months to have solar panels running on my roof. Very pleasant and smooth process.

Great experience!

Our experience with Solar Energy World has been excellent. We previously had solar at our residence in Pennsylvania and wanted to have it installed at our new Maryland home. When we first contacted Solar Energy World, Eric came to our home, explained our options and reviewed the process of required permits and grants (which they submit) and installation. He presented the cost and made sure all of our questions were answered with no pressure to make a decision quickly. We were just asked to contact them with our decision. We had received an estimate from another company, but preferred Solar Energy World not only because of the price difference, but that they monitor our system for 30 years. We were updated on approval of permits and each step of the process. The five man crew of installers and electricians were great during the two day installation! Charlie, Roscoe, Thomas, Rico and Dave were all very personable, courteous, conscientious and seemed to enjoy working with one another. Final inspection in a few days followed by meter replacement and then . . . Bring on the SUN!
