Delays, poor communication & installation, pressure tactics
Initially promised the work would be done by "November, Mid-December at the latest" turned out to be early March. Obviously, a huge problem with the solar tax credit being gone. All the delays occurred because of the company and no one else. It took them 6 weeks just for them to submit the plan to the utility company. I doubt this would have happened if I hadn’t started calling them, which mostly went to voice mail or answered by someone who promised a call-back that I never received. Eventually they said my utility company required the plan to be changed...which cost more. I had to make an urgent decision because I was told they could submit the plan they had would approve, and creating a new plan would risk delaying beyond the year for me not to qualify for the tax credit. Finally, project approved on December 2nd, I was optimistic it would be completed before end of the year, but they had a different agenda... make me wait, I had to keep calling until I got a date and told me they will tell me, “We will let you know by December 28th." I got a call on the evening of December 28th, telling me that they can't make it happen on time and that they can't even give me a date. But the shady sales rep told me that it may be possible if I paid the full price to them in advance, there's a chance I may get the tax credit. I did my research and this turned out to be in-ambiguously false. I declined. Around January 8th is when they first scheduled me but, the process went on and on until Early March. They came once or twice per week, for a few hours, for several weeks. “There is a piece missing...we will come back next week." They would not show up "next week." I had to call them and remind them, and they had to tell me, "I can schedule you next week" and I had to get assertive until they came back at the end of the week, which quite frankly, I don't think they accomplished anything considering how often they came back. Even after the installation was complete and I got permission to operate, the system was not working! There was a "problem with the battery." I was told they will contact Tesla and bring me a new one, but this is not what happened. They "fixed" the one that was already installed, raising suspension there was never a problem with the battery, just that they messed up with the installation.

No management
I spent over $18,000 for a solar system. From the very beginning, there was problems with the inverter, but Tesla, said there was nothing wrong. Three months went by and it quit working altogether. They replaced the inverter and I was up and running after one month being down. I asked to have a manager call me but they never called. 16 days later it quit working again. They were able to turn it back on from the office but said there was a dead short and they would get someone out to fix it. I waited one week and called the office to see when they were going to schedule. They told me they’d get back with me by the end of the week. Over three weeks later, I’m still waiting for them to get back with me. They don’t seem to care about warranty work. They had very good communication while I owed the money but now that it’s warranty work I am second class customer. I paid for a new system and I expect it to work like a new system, but it has not. My advice is using another contractor.

Watch Out! I have been trying for months for Saguaro Solar to complete the job that was already paid for. They keep saying they will come back and complete stuff but then silence. Bethany, the office manager, says she can't do anything and to talk to Tim, the salesman. Tim says talk to Bethany or maybe come in and talk to the owners, "they're nice". I wish he would talk to the owners and get it done. They left this monstrosity of a structure which they said they would cover it and put a "nice awning' over it. That's never happened so now it just sits out there. No wifi from the structure to my phone so I don't even know if it is working. Beware of this company!

Doesn't perform as promised
The system spec'd out by Chris was supposed to produce over 80% of my requirements for electrical power, at that rate with a projected 6.5 year payback. The system is only producing approx 30% of my usage, leaving me still with expensive electric bills. At this rate payback may never occur or be well over 20 years, for a system I paid cash for. I sincerely regret having spent the money and having solar installed. Knowing what I know now, I would never have done it.

5.8 kW AC Meyer Burger Black 385 W
Initial meeting showed knowledge of solar PV. Scoping of roof layout done with programmable drone resulting in accurate layout of panels. Checked flat roof trusses to ensure type of truss was compatible with attachment system. Avoided all conflicts with roof penetrations. Listened to provide owner's preferred orientation to bias production to afternoon. At Saguaro Solar's cost, procured slightly more powerful panels to maintain project on schedule. All permits obtained as scheduled. Startup at 51 days following executed contract. Performance as specified, with no change orders required. Very satisfied customer.

Good except when it came to rewarding referrals
Everything went pretty well. There was a delay because of supply shortages and last minute contracts (like our) looking to lock in the best rate with TEP. That was OK. I would have rated 5 stars except they failed miserably to acknowledge and send a referral award to some friends who recommended them. I've appealed several times over several months without recognition. I'm disappointed and embarrassed about how this has NOT been handled.

Solar and TEP - a great adventure
First- this process has taken a while- that being said, my system was definitely not standard, and between covid, supply chain, and design changes due to TEP requirements, we have had a lot of challenges. The company has stood behind there word, has helped at every corner to get things correct, and to get a system that is working as described originally. It was definitely patience on my side and on the installers side. Not only would I recommend them, but we are starting to set up project number 2 on my office. This was definitely a 1 star experience, that was turned into 5 star with good project management and communication from Samantha. Would definitely recommend Saguaro solar, for any project you have.

I love my solar system!
Saguaro Solar has been an excellent company to work with. Now that we're generating power, I am seeing huge savings on my electric bill. I would absolutely go with them again and would recommend my friends do as well if they are interested in solar. I mean, in Tucson, who wouldn't be? Saguaro Solar was always professional, courteous, and promptly got back to me with answers I needed. Many, many kudos!

Absolutely Outstanding
I would highly recommend Saguaro Solar. The agent, Anne Golseth was awesome and totally honest. She kept in touch through the entire process with honest answers. The system is up and running and we are VERY satisfied. We were ready to sign with a firm in Phoenix. I am delighted that Anne reached us before we did. We even visited their facility in Tucson before signing, and we were treated like their #1 customer during the process. I cannot say enough good things about Saguaro Solar - from contract to installation to completion. All top notch. Best value, top quality and total responsiveness.

Poor customer service
Having run businesses for 40+ years, I can honestly say avoid this one !! It is a "convenience" business. If it is convenient for them they'll do the business. I scheduled 2 meetings for quotes. The first one the sales rep had the meeting at 1:30 pm instead of 10:30 am. I set up the next meeting with this sales rep at 2 pm ( 3 days later), he was a no show\no call. If this business does not need work .. fine, just say so. But, it seems, if they can not coordinate a sales meeting, how will they coordinate a job site. Gave you 2 chances, you failed twice. Going to a company that gives a damn about their potential costumers.

Installation complete, system activated
I requested REC Solar 375 Watt panels which added about $1,000 to the 21 panel estimate. The contract was signed on Jan 10th. Saguaro helped get the approval from my HOA. The panels werre ordered on Jan 22nd. Installation occurred on Feb 10th, and took less than half a day. Approval by the town was delayed for unknown reasons, but not due to any system defect. This occurred on March 15th. The power company (TEP) installed the meter on March 22nd, I received permission to operate from TEP on March 23rd, and activated the system as advised by Saguaro on March 24th (today). I installed the monitering app on my computer this afternoon, and was generating the 6KW max at noon today. Great work, on time, no unexpected charges!

Better than Expected
Ally Attwood came to our home in Green Valley on October 6th after setting an appointment with us at the Home Show. We had solar on another home previously, so we asked questions and came to an agreement on installing solar at this home. We received updates during the design and permitting process and that took about 1 month. Then, Saguaro Solar scheduled us with an installation date of November 30th. The installation took only until about 1 p.m. and the crew left our roof and surrounding ground in great shape. Saguaro Solar passed inspection with the county a week later with every checked out and then December 16th was the time when TEP sent the notification giving Saguaro Solar the approval to flip the switch and for us to be fully connected to operate. The cost was close to our expectation and the communication from Saguaro Solar and Ally Attwood was much better than we had anticipated.

Professional, responsive, easy
We worked with Doug and his team at Saguaro Solar to install a solar system on our home in Tucson. I chose Saguaro Solar because they have a local presence, great reviews, and because I was impressed with Doug's knowledge and willingness to explain the system and process to me. I was impressed at each step of the process. I was notified by email or phone of each step and always encouraged to call or contact them with questions. Each step was completed on schedule except for one very short delay, and I was notified of that ahead of time. I was also thankful that Saguaro Solar handled the necessary interface with our HOA and with our local electrical utility. Everything went seamlessly and our system is now operational. We're very happy to be reducing our carbon footprint and we expect to be making money every year from now on.
