Premier Improvements Solar

With my wife and recently moving to CT in our new home, we were filled with many emotions, and deciding to go solar felt like it could be overwhelming — but thanks to Adam, and the whole team at Premier Improvements, the entire process was absolutely seamless. Adam was there for us from day one, answering ALL of our questions, and keeping us in the loop every step of the way. Incredible communication and professionalism! We also had a great experience working with our project managers Brian and Valter, who kept things on track and moving forward to which we really appreciate. But we have to give a huge shoutout to Chadwick, who installed our system. Not only did he walk us through how everything works and make sure the setup was clean and done right, but he also went above and beyond. From the initial inspection, to the roof replacement, and to the installation of the solar panels he checked that everything was in place ensuring the safety of everyone and also respecting our property and showing us how the system works. We did have a few issues after hours with some other parts of the project, and Chadwick was there for us at every corner—super responsive, respectful, and genuinely helpful. We also did run into a couple of hiccups with EverSource (Which is completely out of our control and also Premier's control), but Premier took care of everything and made sure we got up and running with our solar panel system as soon as possible. From coordinating with the city inspectors, to even removing our massive trees in front, and trimming some other high branches, Premier handled it all. Honestly, we thought going solar would be a nightmare because of the horror stories we've heard, but after doing our research and going with Premier, we couldn’t be more grateful. They’re honest, straightforward, responsive, and genuinely care about doing things right. In fact, we just met with Adam a few days ago as he was in the neighborhood, and wanted to see our finished project, and it was so great to catch up with him again! Go with Premier Improvements! You’ll be glad you did and the solar savings are definitely WORTH IT.

salesperson was very impatient with my questions and my need to have him be more focused and put together. He even told me that non of his customers take this long to make a decision (I met with him 3x - once for 90 mins, another 60 mins and then 30 mins. Apparently they believe that it shouldn't take this long to make a $60K major investment decision! I have over 40 disparate files of data with various bits of information on them, but absolutely no proposal that lists all of their equipment, it's output, my savings, the incentives, the paybacks from Eversource, etc., plus the upfront cost for the Franklin battery and all incentives/rebates and paybacks with that either. Do these companies think customers enjoy trying to figure out some of the 'hidden' ways in which costs are calculated? should you finance, lease, pay cash - it's all rather vague with this guy and when I asked him to be specific, he got annoyed- give me upfront, out of pocket costs. When I told him I was more interested in going off grid, he completely sent me on my way. Bye Bye Pointer...a great salesperson works to overcome objections. Instead he threw my business out the door. When making an enormous decision like this, customers should be given ALL of the time, information and data that they need. This guy would have none of it. What I especially didn't like is that this salesman would not send someone out to go into configuration and set up possibilities of the battery system, given the limited space in my basement UNTIL I SIGNED A CONTRACT. That will not happen. I do not make guesses hoping it will all work out and blindly sign a contract. I asked to work with someone else and that this company submit a proposal through the Energy Sage System so I could compare each vendor. This salesman response??? Thanks we're all set --- bye bye. If you want a disrespectful experience. Choose them. This was an incredibly unprofessional, and disrespectful experience and, sadly, gives solar installers a bad name - kind of like used car salesmen. It shouldn't be this way.

I am now a year out from PTO with my panels from Premier Improvements and I would like to update this review. Overall, my time with Premier since my last review has been very positive. While admittedly things were a little heated due to the previous review, I feel that the team at Premiere really did step up to what I was hoping for. I felt they took my concerns seriously, thoroughly answered my questions regarding the Premier Protection Plan, and worked tirelessly to solve the problem facing me and my panels. This problem was complex to diagnose. I had regular visits from the electrical team. Several different solutions were tried. Premiere went above and beyond here, upsizing the wiring to my house from the panels, not once but twice. An additional inverter was added to the system to attempt the correct the problem. Ultimately a transformer was required to reduce the voltage coming from the street, which Eversource, unsurprisingly, was unwilling to help at all with. Throughout this time Premiere remained professional and friendly. I also personally feel they were humble in troubleshooting this problem, bringing in half a dozen different consulting companies and solar partners. They were tenacious and solved my problem, and I am now generating electricity at my expected output. While this process took time, I felt significantly less frustrated throughout this period, mostly due to the fact that it was obvious that they were doing everything they could to help me. Premiere is a small company and one should keep that in mind when choosing them, but they were also the only ones I spoke to who were willing and able to give me the solar setup I wanted, and that is worth a lot.

I had almost given up hope finding a solar installer who was actually local to the area, and not just another national solar syndicate masquerading as a local company. I was delighted to discover Premier Improvements. I found Adam and Brian to be incredibly knowledgable about local regulations, and it was a pleasure working with them every step of the way. After listening to a pitch from about 10 installers over the course of a week, Premier had the best price, were willing to work with the CT Green Bank (unlike many of the national syndicates) and, BONUS, they are really a local company. I highly recommend Premiere Improvements for your renewable energy project!

Exceptional service and quality! They did a full roof replacement and installed a 9kw solar array. Couldn’t be happier! The roof looks great and the solar panels are producing excellently! The whole team was there every step of the way to keep me informed and answer all of my questions…and I asked plenty of them. For many reasons, economic and philosophical, we knew we wanted to have solar energy in our newly purchased, but very old home in Connecticut. After an extensive search we decided to go with Premier Improvements. Adam and his group made the process of going solar easy. This was our first foray into solar panels and I was definitely not sure it was the right decision. But I did my research and decided to go with Adam and the super team at Premier Improvements. Not only did they answer ALL my questions--and extremely patiently I might add--but they took care of everything, from discussing equipment choices, batteries, and sizing, to a superb installation both on the roof and in the basement. The installation is almost "elegant!" Then they took care of setting up the inspections with the town building inspector and the town electrical inspector. At every step of the process I knew I could reach out to Adam and the team with any questions, and they were always quick to respond. Incredible communication! Without question I highly recommend going solar with them. I thought solar would be a challenge because I've heard horror stories from people. And at times, particularly with our electricity provider, it was difficult to some degree. But that was minimized because we chose Premier Improvements. First off, I want to say that Premier Improvements have been a great company to work with. I originally looked into solar at my previous location about eight years ago. One of my coworkers was saying how he got solar on his house with no money down. When I looked into it, most of the solar companies were pushing solar leases and it just did not seem like a good deal to me at that time. I’ve moved to a new place since then and several factors made me consider solar again. Our local utility keeps upping the rates. Plus, there were better incentives than the last time I checked. And, the roof on our house was also in need of replacement. I looked into several companies, and without a doubt, Premier Improvements was the best one I spoke with. They are a SunPower dealer, and I liked the idea of having all of the major components coming from the same company. They also were able to do the roof and coordinate with SunPower so that everything was timed properly. The old roof was stripped and replaced with Owens Corning 50 year shingles in one day. The crew was good. They took the time to make sure that my landscaping was protected, and the yard was clear of debris when they left. The roof looks great, and it has stood up to three high wind/rain events. Overall, I am very happy with the job they did on the roof. As far as the solar install goes, they have been great at keeping SunPower on schedule. When SunPower came to do my install, the weather was not cooperating and they were unable to install the panels. Premier Improvements kept them on track and even got SunPower to come out on a Saturday to finish the install so that the project would keep on track. They also took care of all the permits, and have coordinated with our utility to get us connected. I am very pleased with Premier Improvements and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for solar.

In looking at all the ways to stabilize our finances, I knew I wanted to get solar panels. I intensely researched 3 different vendors and finally decided on Premier Improvements. They answered every question I had, didn’t try to pressure me, offered the highest quality panels that can last 35-40 years and their prices were competitive. Both leasing and purchasing are good options, but I went with purchasing because the interest rate was les than 1%, and I get an up to $7500 tax rebate. Installation went smoothly. I now pay zero for my electric bill with Eversource, and get about $150 mailed to be each month by Eversource so the extra electricity I send to the grid (even after using all the electricity I need for the house and charging an electric car.). I use the $150 to pay the $150 monthly charge to pay off the panels. Once I pay off the panels, I should get 100% no cost electricity for 10-15 years. So glad we went solar.

I interviewed at least 5 different companies before choosing Premier Improvement. Adam is extremely knowledgeable on solar panels and really loves his job! We had hiccups with SunPower. If it's not because of Adam and Brian, we would have given up. The Premier improvement team is very reliable and responsive, and helped us throughout this process. After looking at numerous other Companies and Solar Panels Adam showed me All of my Options and was very knowledgeable about explaining how Solar works. I was going thru the process with another company but was not convinced about moving forward. I complete a quote online and spoke to 4 different company about solar. After a less than stellar consultation with another solar company, I ran into Adam who asked if I would be willing to speak with him regarding solar on my home. It was really nice speaking with someone who actually listened to my concerns and helped me address the issues I thought I had with installing a system on my house. Another meeting or two later with Adam and Brian and we were sold on working with Premier Improvements for our solar project. They have always been very responsive to any questions regardless of the time of day and go out of their way to make sure no questions or concerns go unanswered. Their commitment to their customers is apparent in every interaction we’ve had. Even now that our system in installed and producing power, Brian and Adam continue to check in on us and answer whatever questions we may have. I can, without a doubt, recommend Premier Improvements to anyone thinking of installing a solar system on their home.
