Samuel was awesome ! By far one of the best at his job ! Highly recommend him and Sun Solar for all your solar needs ! He was awesome at going over all the information about solar . And all the things solar panels do and how they work ! And also the cost ! He was straight to the point with no hesitation ! Sun Solar had me approved for the hole system in less than an hour ! They are the best at what they do ! Thank you Sun Solar and Sam for the quick solution to my overly high electric bill !

Responsive and Reliable Until they get paid

Bottom line: Stay as far away as you can from this company, their products & services, and any subcontracted work they are to perform. Sun Solar (or any other name formerly used or to be used in the future) are going to promise you reliable solar systems with tangible cost savings. They promise to care about you as the customer, the follow through is severely lacking. READ THE REVIEWS!! When I first started working with Sun Solar in August 2022 I was told the project would be complete in 90-120 days. Nothing goes as planned with Sun Solar. Their planning and design teams arbitrarily downsized my system from 19 to 17 panels, without explanation to myself other than "hey it saved you a couple thousand dollars!" Installed the system in December of 2022, leaving behind a muddy and trashed mess behind. My system was not turned on until May 2023. From installation to January 2025 my system has underperformed by their own comparative charts - without adequate reasoning. As if being duped by the fantastic and over estimated energy production estimates isn't enough reason to want the entire system removed completely... I have severe damage to my home from their shoddy installation practices. My roof is leaking under both sections of the solar system, extensive damage has been caused by the water entering my home through the roof into two separate rooms upstairs. This company does not invest in being able to make things right for and with wronged customers, they are too busy trying to get the next system sold and installed so they can make more money. Consumers need protection from predatory business practices like those found at Sun Solar.

Exciting Adventure!

My husband and I are so excited about our new system! Our Sales person was Lucas and he was absolutely great! He thoroughly explained how the system works and how the installation process would go. The Installers were professional and quick and everything went smoothly. We flipped our switch on yesterday and I am excited to see how everything works out!!

Terrible customer service

Hard to be brief about the terrible customer service I received. The system was installed September of 2023 and as of September of 2024 it is finally producing the way it should. I called repeatably and was promised someone would call, I never received a call from them. I had two dead strings of panel, one on each of the Tesla panels. One of the strings had burnt in the junction box on my roof. Really glad my house did not burn down. The other string was producing but the Tesla panel was programmed wrong, so it was not accepting the power being produced, so that was wrong from installation. My opinion is get someone else for solar! Sun solar is not a company you want to have issues with because once they sell the loan and they get paid, you will not matter to them!

I talked to about 6 solar companies before I went with sun solar on high recommendation from my neighbor he said they were great through whole process. So I met with Kyler Brown the most knowledgeable sales person I met with by far Kyler had very good demeanor and explained things very well.If you r going to go solar this is the guy to talk to.Then I started the next process with Bridget Goff she contacted me on every next move and went over everything and kept me up to date on everything going on. The crew that worked on panels insulation all were very friendly and courteous. They had to call me because they couldn’t get my wife at home 1 day and he said happy Friday Mr Madden ( made my day) from Kyler to Bridget to the whole crew . A plus team thanks Sun Solar team your hard work is truly recognized . I will follow up later with how the system is doing for me and all the follow up. We may have to bring out 10 stars. Thanks again

Leaking roof

My system was installed in 2013, my ceiling is ruined. The "front desk" lady is nice, but I haven't had any other responses. I first contacted them 3 weeks ago. I just want my panels moved to a ground install.

Horrible Management & customer service

I am a disabled Veteran, on a limited budget. I decided to go solar to help with the high cost of electric. I started the solar process in July 2023, my sales rep quit in October 2023 during the contract process. My new salesman was Jeff Winheim(sales manager). He made my wife and I feel like we were the most important people in the world, until the company received payment from our finance company. From that point on Jeff Winheim (sales Manager) and Arron Moore (North Sales Director) wouldn’t accept our phone calls or return any of our e-mails. I purchased a solar system and a 22KVA generator. The generator was installed over 2 months ago and still had not been set up by Sun Solar. The generator has never been started to see if it will even power my home. My original salesman sent me an e-mail stating Sun Solar would pay for the gas line installation to power the generator. I sent in the bill totaling $5026.00 for the gas line installation...Crickets! I also found out after the fact that three thousand dollars of the total cost of the generator was for gas line installation. All in all, I paid $8026.00 for installation. I have tried several times to e-mail and call with regards to reimbursement and contract completion no replies. The Management of this company is the worst I have ever seen and the customer service is Horrible. Do yourself a favor…Stay away from this company!

Poor customer service

The company canceled Fridays appointment and rescheduled for thanksgiving, Then neither canceled nor showed up. Doesnt know how to service their equipment after installs. Doesnt know how to set up a schedule, doesnt know how to get a job done, did a site survey and f'ed it up and i could go on. Seriously don't pay these guy until the jobs complete and you better have insurance cause you cant trust them according to these other reviews.

Pretty honest

Really an honest company here guys. I signed 3 months ago an my install is scheduled. Whole time I had some updates, and wasn't left in the dark by my sales guy. He answered all my questions and didn't know some answers, ok. but took the time to call and find them for me. Would send him to my family just cause of the updates.

Unprofessional

We have been shopping for solar and Sun Solar was in our top 2 final choices. However, they lost the sale because their office and our sales rep, Jenny, called or texted us constantly despite us saying we were still reviewing and had questions but would get back to them when we were ready. Jenny's final text was "If you do not want solar, let me know, I am very busy and will move on." When I called her to say spamming a potential client is poor business practice after they have asked you to refrain, I was told she did not need advice from me, then proceeded to talk over me loudly. Last I checked, a good salesperson LISTENS to their client and does not berate them. I suppose she just made our decision easier as now we will choose the other company. If this is their sales process, I can only imagine what their installation and service might be like.

Poor customer service

Really sad customer service. Sun Solar replaced my original inverter back in 2021 since my initial installer had gone out of business. They had me sign an administrative transfer of rights to monitor my system and had a tech come out and do the work. He was great, and no issues, until that inverter quit working in less than two years. This was a warranty claim, and instead of taking care of it, they told me I wasn't a customer and they're not taking on any new customers. So you have administrative rights to monitor my system and I've paid you $380 in labor to fix my system in the past, (after being quoted $280), but I'm not your customer? What a bunch of bs that is. Why monitor a system you have no intention of helping fix if there's an issue? I asked them to send me a form to revoke those monitoring rights. Find another company that will stand behind their work. Instead of scheduling a tech for half a day they left me stranded with no working inverter and no company to fix it. I'll be leaving this review every place I can find to leave it. Hopefully it keeps others from contacting this company.

Poor service, incomplete installation

Had a Generac pwrcell system installed with battery's March of 2022. Everything was fine until September when we had a power outage and the main inverter failed. Took over a month to get someone out to look at it and longer to get it fixed. I asked for the pv map and they installed 6 strings on 2 inverters for a total of 10.8kw. Completely unnecessary considering that each inverter can handle 15kw of pv power. This is where the incomplete installation comes in. Only 5 strings were ever working at any one point. When they removed the Snaprs they connected to a different pv optimizer and it finally showed up on the Dashboard view but the other one that was previously connected shows that it's deactivated. Their technician seems to be hung up on my utility voltage being 252v saying it's too high. However, I have one inverter that has never failed plus the installation manual says the inverters can go up to 260v. They clearly don't know the product they were selling and then never finished installation or did any timely repairs. I just made my 1st payment on this system and it's only worked properly for 6 months. If I could go back I'd avoid this company.

Big company with small company customer service

Sun solar is a big company with even better customers service and stands behind their work til every is complete. I had a $120k system installed by them we had some hiccups alone the way mostly small manufacturer issues but they stood by my side, sat on the phone for me with generac (hours, alot of hours) and got all updated replacement parts and installed with no extra cost. Also Brian (lead service/installation manager) on my installation/service was so knowledgeable that I wish I picked his brain for weeks before I designed my system but with him by my side we built one of the biggest and well designed residential systems that sun solar installed to date. Just heads up they can install generators and batteries systems as well. One more note they did this all during covid bull and never made and excuse they just performed. I highly recommend doing alot of research on solar, battery back up and generators before you buy system but no need to research best company to complete. Sun solar and their teams are number one from start to finish. Thanks for your great service Jess!!

We have had nothing but Trouble

We bought our system last year, and have nothing but trouble with it since we did. First when they installed it, they installed in the wrong place, meaning now its covered by shade part of the day. They also cut the electric line to our well house and blamed it on others. They didn't hook it up right so I had to wait for the electric company to allow it to be turned on. I had the system in my yard for a month before it ever worked. Then it only works part of the time, the monitoring we were promised doesn't happen, Our system is only making 1/4 of the electricality we expected it to make. We still have a high electric bill and now a payment for the solar as well. Once they have your money they do not care what happens to you as a customer, we even wanted to buy two panels to replace some broken ones and no one even called us back with a quote. Now my inverter isn't even turned on so that means I am making no power at all and NO one will even call us back. DO not do it.

Solar Install

Had solar installed the beginning of summer 2021, and have not had a utility bill since installation. The only fee I’ve had to pay is $9.12, which is the utility company’s customer charge. I even have credits! Professional from start to finish! Highly recommend Sun Solar!

sun solar is the only company to use to install a solar system!!

i have been thinking about going solar for years now, and when i talked to Danny Dees, i decided it was time. he was very knowledgeable about the system, and about the timeline it would take, (and it happened) if i called him with a concern, or just a question, if he did not know he did not hesitate to call the correct person to find out. and as for the rest of the crews, (installers, electricians, even the people in the offices). Glad i made the decision to go solar with SUN SOLAR

Worst company ever

This company improperly installed the wiring on my solar setup. and when it burned up the inverter, they will not warrant it. The error is obvious, but since I took the switch cover off to see what was burned, they voided the warranty. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Think Before You Buy

Homeowners should be able to pay for everything up front because, you will benefit much better from solar. Ask your salesman about the winter months. We paid a very high electric bill the first winter after the installation of our panels. I complained and sun solar came in to seal my house for free. Then I had to go on a budget plan of $148 per month, which is still less than it would have been without the panels. Now I need to have 12 panels removed from my enclosed deck because of water damage to the interior ceiling. The cost $1800. As a homeowner we have not seen real,savings or benefits from installing solar. It would have been much cheaper to,stay on the electric and just pay monthly. Our monthly electric related expenses because we couldn't afford to pay off the panels is over $400 per month. Homeowners beware!

Poor customer service

Had the unit up and running a few months and had the main inverter go bad. I was told a different repair date 5 times. Had to call them to find out they were not showing up each time. The supposed monitoring they said they would setup for me has never happened. I found another company to go with on my warehouses. I will not give them a good reference. Very poor service, very poor customer service.

Feeling deceived

The system works well. The money I was supposed to save was not there. I am going to have to come up with $12,000 to $13,000 out of pocket and my monthly electric cost is going to be over $100 per month higher. This was a surprise a senior citizen sure didn’t need. I was also told I would receive money for someone signing up under me. That didn’t happen either. I’m trying to get the attention of the power company and tv stations at this time to share my experience.

Disappointed

Was thinking about giving only two stars, but the system works fairly good. I have had the system on line since February 2016, they have changed one panel and today are changing a micro inverter. They are supposed to monitor the system and here lies the rub, I luckily had them set up the enlighten system so I could monitor the solar system. I have had to notify them when the system has problems then they trouble shoot after you convince them you have a problem, with the micro inverter it has taken them almost two months and a lot of phone calls and frustration on my part. All they can say is we are a young company and growing fast. Maybe they need to slow down and do it right. Thy have made me look bad because I have recommended them to lots people. Their problems comes from not hiring enough people.

Very upset

Do not use this company !! The salesman Earl promise me that this system would perform no more electric bills or they would pay it !! Said it would run a welder for at least a couple hours a week it can't handle running my air conditioner I thought the installation of the product was correct but after getting all my roof found out that they're not even tightened down the panels they ran conduit across one of my crawl spaces I was promised that they would take care of that that has still not happen when the salesman Earl got me hooked up with their direct withdrawal he left a digit out so now they charged me a late charge. I was told there was no problem putting the panels on the south side of the house but after it was all said and done I ended up with panels on the east facing roof I find out after the fact that they couldn't put these on a manufactured home so they should have put them on a ground mount but the salesman lied and was more worried about lining his own pocket than taking care of the customer

Great fan

Thank You for the solar system it works great and saves me lots of money when I'm working in the shop all hours of the night my electric bill was 250.00 and up to 300.00 plus at times sun solar done good saved me a lot.

I like my Solar System

The guy's were great. Don, mike, and Christian Knew what they were doing and worked well together. The trenching team of Charley and Jon were very careful not to hit the alarm lines or the phone lines and left the yard in great shape. Kyle and Tim did the wiring and it looks professional and clean going into the house. Mo. Sun Solar took care of everything--Permits-underground wire locations-sight cleanup and leveling-utility notification and meter replacement. We could not have had a better relationship, with sales, office support or installers. And my meter is running backwards most of the time. Thanks.

Great Team of Folks

I have been very impressed with MSS. Caleb and his team took over a contract from another solar company that was not able to follow through on their contact. Caleb negotiated with the other company and "found a way" to make it happen. MSS did a quick install on a 11.75KW roof top system. Andrew, the eletrician, did a great job of running the lines to a set of inverters in the basement - which was no small feat. I can't say enough about this MISSOURI company.

Bright Future

We are so thankful to Missouri Sun Solar for their professionalism from the initial quote to the installation. We couldn't be happier with our solar panel system and it's effectiveness. We are thrilled to have such a "bright future" using the sun as our energy source and to not have to worry about rising rates through our electric company. We highly recommend them to everyone.

5,000 sqft house off grid and loving Solar!!

This was by far one of the biggest decisions of my life to go solar! I have always wanted to go off the grid and now can happily report that I am. I contacted Caleb and Sun Solar late 2012 for a quote. once Caleb set down and went over all the details I was hooked! We took my 5,000 sqft conventional home off the grid! It is an 18kw solar array with 2 Outback Radian inverters running off of 32 deep cycle batteries that hardly ever go below 90% charged :) We also have a 15kw propane generate backup if needed. This system was very complex and has left me with a zero dollar a month electric bill. Needless to say my wife was skeptical at first, but now tells everyone about it! She runs the A/C and electric dryer at the same time! I would be glad to personally talk to anyone who would like a real life referral. I also have my system in a big magazine to prove how cool this system is!
