HORRIBLE

Absolutely worst decision I have ever made to go with LA Solar. They have failed on all levels. I ordered the system 2 years ago and it is still not working. They have failed repeatedly on inspections, repeatedly on simply showing up for inspections. Their communication is terrible. The contractors show up and sometimes have no idea what they are doing!! Don’t waste your time or money with this company. We have tried everything including contacting their CEO.

absolutely the worst experience. no communication! killing me

2 mouth after signed contract. no update. called sales rep and got throw to deal with LA solar directly. keep calling the construction team about when is the project going to start for month. scheduled main panel upgrade day. installation crews no show. re schedule again. sure enough. no show. finally after anther month going back and forth. got main panel upgrade. through finally the project is going to move forward. schedule the solar panel install. same thing. going back and forth, they will give you a day and of course at the last minute. no show again. this is a battle just to get them to install the panel. rescheduled me 5 times and until now. 4 month later. this project still not 30% done. the worst thing is they will delivery all the panel to your house and never come out this install it. material has been in my garage more than month and created a huge trip and fall safety concern for my 5 years old kids. this is absolutely headache. if i need to deal with all this headache just to get the panel install. not to mention about what you need to go thought to get them to do any warranty work or service, if i can withdraw on this project. i will do it in a heartbeat. will not recommend this company to anyone. i dont care you can save thousand of dollar with LA solar. you will save more to find a solar company have the capacity to delivery work. i am requesting them to send someone out to take those material away. they cant use my garage as their material storage and put my kids and family on a trip and fall safety hazard environment. just go with a different company. i am very disappointed on LA solar!!!

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT GO WITH LA SOLAR!!!!!

IF YOU CAN, CANCEL NOW!!! Sales process was great. My sales rep is very responsive. The install process has been HELL!!! I was told this was a 1-2 day job. ITS BEEN A MONTH AND STILL NOT DONE Their level of incompetent communication is incomprehensible! Good luck getting a response from a supervisor! You are 1 out of 200 projects! Is it a good sign when the installer tells you that they are fed up with the way LA SOLAR communicates so they are quitting in a few days? Do you want to be a project manager and micromanage every step of the install process? Well, with LA SOLAR you will get to be! It will be YOUR NEW JOB to schedule follow appointments and patiently wait for a response since they will take their sweet time to do so. I think Im at 8 appointments now. Its YOUR NEW JOB TO REVIEW THEIR WORK because they will tell you the install is complete when it is not! Then have them say another team will finish the job. And when that team gets here, they tell you that THEY WERENT TOLD ABOUT THAT PART they have so they dont have the parts. - Schedule ANOTHER appt. Install team was here 2 WEEKS into the project and tell me "We went to Home Depot THIS MORNING and this part was not in stock". Shouldnt they have gotten this part 2 WEEKS AGO?!?!? Now I have to schedule ANOTHER appt. Electric team did the same thing. Came here 1 day. Came back the 2nd day and said they didnt have a part with them. WHY DIDNT THEY FIGURE THIS OUT THE FIRST DAY??!?! Schedule another appointment! Ive been patient and polite this whole project and really didnt want to leave this review as I really like my sales guy BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. TIRED OF THEIR INCOMPETENCE.

Don't Waste Your Time

Many years ago LA Solar group and there were a smaller company with a solid company that performed. They have gotten too big for their own good, they don't return calls their central call center is in the country of Armenia, and they've taken 6 months to just diagnose a problem with no problem with my solar unit that's under warranty. Run don't walk away from this company.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. This is the first time I post my review. I just want to warn people who are planning for their solar project to stay away from this company. Go find someone else. If I could give NEGATIVE or ZERO stars I would. I signed a contract with LA solar group in May last year. My contract includes the solar panel and a TESLA Powerwall. Just like other reviews, the installation process was awful, no communication what so ever. I sent many emails to the sales person and the project manager without any response. One day, they told me they will send the crew to install the solar panels. Nobody show up on the scheduled date. No one tells me what's going on. This happened few times. I wasted all those PTO for nothing. Finally, the solar panels were installed in October. Then same thing happened for city inspection. And it's even worse. They only notify me the schedule one day before the inspection. I was forced to make myself available. In March this year, they installed the battery storage. But my garage, part of my kitchen, and part of my house don't have power during a power outage. The installer told me that they will come back to install few breakers after the city inspection. Since that, no one come back to install those breakers. Instead, they keep asking me to pay the last payment. I told them I will pay when the issue get resolved. But they responded that if I don't pay, they won't come resolve the issue. That's really ridiculous. I have never ever deal with a company like LA Solar Group. Don't even understand why this company is still in business. And I will still need to deal with this company for the next 20 year if something wrong with the system. Now, I have to sent all my contracts with LA Solar Group, all the text message, and all the emails to my attorney to handle this for me. So, if you don't want to have the same headache I have, DO NOT consider this company.

10 months to complete job

Please don’t use this company. I signed up for LA Solar in May 2021 and it is now March 2, 2022 and my system is still not functional. The installers drop by at any time, never letting me know when they are going to arrive. Absolutely no communication with the company whatsoever. I couldn’t be more disappointed. I don’t know how a company like this stays in business. I installed solar at a previous house, with a different solar company, a few years ago and everything went very smoothly.

Slow, unresponsive, incomplete, abandoned?

I committed to LA Solar in June 2021 to upgrade my system from 5kw to 6kw with a wholly independent system that wouldn't void the original warranty. Their first try was to tie into the original system, using the existing inverter. That was contrary to the contract, so when I pointed that out (had to find out on my own), they removed the tie-in and left. It's been 7 weeks with NO update on a schedule--only ignored emails and unanswered phone calls. If you go with these people, WRITE IN A SCHEDULE in your contract. It is now December 2021 and NO WORD from them

Tommy was the original contact. now can't get in touch with him and had to go to miles which was just as bad. after 3 months or so finally got a reply from miles to set up todays appointment for hooking everything up and something about my cell phone. so once again i am left without any knowledge of what is happening, is it turned on or not, am i supposed to be hooked up to my cell for this. who the hell knows as your company has no accountability of being here when they set up the appointment. evidently phones are not used by your crew either unless personal calls only. horrible company. gwen agin red oak, tx

Don't Do Business With This Company

This company had dragged on the job which started since the contract was signed in March of this year. The crews come and go with no end in site. They schedule, did something, reschedule, did something, reschedule then reschedule with NO communication ....on and on and on each time with a different excuse. They re-scheduled me over 7 times and I've had it. I'm contacting Better Business Bureau after this review as a company like this (with the promise to deliver a service at a price i.e. bait) then switch (i.e. job started but won't finish). Now, I have to terminate my contract with them after all the time and effort was wasted. I will be sending them a bill for all the time I have to spend babysitting them. They need to be put out of business. I will be looking into legal action too.

Find a reliable company instead!

Save yourself a lot of headache and find a different company for your solar needs. This is the most unreliable company I have dealt with. They keep holding up my construction, promise that they will come and do their work and then never show up. No calls to let me know they will no-show again. I’m in contract with LA Solar and I regret this choice every day. It is messing up my entire construction project. Terrible.

6 months and counting to finish punchlist/clean up items

I spent $50k on a system with them. It was installed in April. Here it is mid-October and they have still not finished the punchlist/cleanup items, although I have talked to them God knows how many times, and their guys have come over a half dozen times but it never gets finished. Finally, even though the job is not complete, they said for the first time that if I don't pay the final bill of $500 today, they will cut off my service. I am so done with this company.

Another nightmare story

I have been working with LA Solar (I.E. Bay Solar Group) for the last 7 months on the installation of a battery backup system for which they have collected $35,500 from me. I still do not have PTO from PGE after the installed system failed their inspection last month. The system installed did not follow the design plan we agreed upon, and correcting this problem has been hell. The agreed upon plan included 3 Tesla Powerwalls and 3 electrical panels (PV sub panel, Gateway, and service sub panel). My specific concern was the installation of panels on the front of our house, and I rejected all plans that required more than one box in front of our gate. After installation I came outside to realize that 3 panels were installed at the entrance of our home. In total, and in stark contract the the plan I was presented, we now have 8 new electrical panels installed on our house. This includes 3 AC disconnect switches, 1 NGOM meter, 1 gateway, 1 PV sub panel, 1 Solar/Powerwall sub panel, and 1 service sub panel). I was told "the installers know better than the design engineers what is required," which makes me wonder why they even bother with having customers go through a design phase. I offered to walk away from the extra box issue for a $1250 refund in order to build a "doghouse" around the 3 panels at the front of our house, but they requested to do it themselves. We made this agreement on April 6th... and I included pictures of where that project is at after 2 days of work and 1 no-show visit. Instead of completing this project themselves (after their tech also no-showed), they outsourced to a handyman service in the East Bay. They also agreed to paint the installed conduit, but when this was completed, they had carelessly painted our copper gutters and completely ignored a section on our second story. Since their work can't be trusted (pictures, again), I'm correcting this part myself. Over the course of this project LA Solar has scheduled 5 site visits that either LA Solar or their contractor no-call no-showed for. Twice PG&E has showed up at my house for an inspection/install I was unaware of, and, just yesterday, PG&E showed up to install a required meter but had to leave as LA Solar no-showed and was unreachable all day by phone. We attempted to reach the assigned tech, project manager, and chief of staff, none of which answered phone calls or e-mails. I haven't heard from any of them after a separate appointment was no showed Monday. Their work is careless and shoddy, installers are rude and challenging to communicate with, and leadership is operating remotely from LA. There is little/no quality assurance on the ground and you're on your own to raise issues and fight for corrections. At this point I have not heard from my original sales rep Ryan since I brought up issues in March, and instead I'm communicating with a different project manager (DJ), and the chief of staff (Stan). Despite this, the same issues persist and repeat themselves

A Nightmare of an Experience

After doing a good deal of research on solar panels, energy efficiency, and solar providers in LA, we decided to go with LA Solar Group as our provider. We received competing quotes and had several "appraisals" of our roof indicating that our roof would be stable enough for solar panels. On the day of the install, LA Solar drilled multiple holes through the ceiling in FIVE different rooms of our home; they didn't even notice their mistake, and would have continued drilling hole after hole through our ceiling were it not for my wife notifying them of their serious mistake. They did a sloppy and careless job patching the holes, with sealant looking through onto a brand new rug in our office. Post install, we began to experience leaks throughout our home, and it seemed like every time LA Solar went on our roof to correct and fix their mistake, they created more issues, whether that was drilling even MORE holes in our ceiling, or incorrectly installing flashing on our roof and on our chimney. Their work was shoddy and substandard, and of course, they're now repudiating all responsibility for the leaks in our roof. It's been over a year, and we continue to experience leaks and less-than-optimal solar production due to the fact that we've had to put tarps on our roof to prevent the leaks (LA Solar had to come out three separate times to re-tarp the roof because they couldn't figure out how to apply a simple tarp to a roof). At this point, LA Solar has cut off all communication with us and has abandoned their obligations. They are in breach of their roof-leak warranty and the guarantees in our contract, and refuses to reimburse us for repairs that we've had to undertake as a consequence of their low quality workmanship. They don't care about you after they get paid; their salespeople will say anything to get you to sign. Their communication post-install (even before the leak problems) is substandard and far below expectations.
