My experience with LA Solar Group was fine until I actually needed them to stand behind how the system was originally sold. Our SolarEdge system came with app monitoring, which allowed us to see whether the solar system was actually working. LA Solar and the sales rep themselves advertised monitoring as having "no additional cost" and being accessible "365/24/7." LA Solar installed *cellular* communication on our system that apparently had a limited 5 year connection plan unbeknownst to me. Years later, that cellular plan expired and the system went offline from monitoring. Suddenly I was told that if I wanted monitoring again, I needed to pay for additional service to convert it to Wi-Fi. When I questioned this and showed them their own advertising, their response was basically: monitoring isn't written into your signed contract, so it isn't our responsibility. They even acknowledged that without an active internet connection they cannot provide an accurate report of how the system is currently producing. So somehow I bought a solar system marketed with monitoring, LA Solar chose and installed a communication method that eventually expired, and now restoring that functionality is my expense. And now, LA solar group can no longer tell me if my system is generated its "guaranteed" output due to the lack of connectivity. My advice to anyone considering LA Solar: ignore the marketing promises unless they are copied directly into your signed agreement. If monitoring matters, put it in the contract. If a salesperson promises something, put it in the contract. If their website says something is included, put it in the contract. I had previously recommended LA Solar to several family members. Based on how they have handled this, I regret those referrals and would not recommend them going forward.

If you are planning to install solar panel or getting a new roof, do not use this company. They have the worse service of all. I have the solar installed in my house and it been leaking since then. It's over 5 years ago. They keep say that they have fix it, but every time it rain, it leak. Customer service is very bad. I have been trying to get them fix the leak but not luck. LA Solar is the worse solar installation in the California. They did an installation for me few years ago. There is a leak in from of my house because of the installation. They been trying to fix the leak for the last 5 years. Every time they come out and they said it is fixed. But when the next rain season arrived, it leak again on the same spot. Look the install was pretty good but I can't get any service help. I got a new Internet provider and I can't log my system onto the new WiFi. LA Solar sent directions however the pictures of the system they send are very different from my system. I know I need to "RESET" the system to log onto the WIFI however there are warning signs everywhere about HIGH VOLTAGE. I need a tech to help me in person and I keep getting the runaround. I call and initially they are nice and then say hold for someone and drop me. They acknowledge my emails but do NOTHING. Regret my decision to use LA Solar Group

I regret my decision to have LA solar install my enphase solar system. LA solar has very poor communication with me and within themselves to resolve any issues. Solar install and activation took a very long time outside of time for permits and PTO. Required constant requests for them to come finish and fix issues with the enphase hardware after installation, the system was down for around a month total after first operation and they visited multiple times to troubleshoot and resolve issues. The system is still not installed as intended as the battery doesn’t backup the correct loads specified and doesn’t power certain loads on the meter as it was intended, and they have ignored my repeated requests to fix it. I have filed a complaint with the state contractor board about this company and would not recommend them or enphase hardware for anyone.

PLEASE READ

After investing $50,000 in a solar system installed by LA Solar three years ago, we're facing significant issues due to improper installation and mapping. SolarEdge replaced our faulty inverter under warranty but identified several non-functioning optimizers (enhancers) that also need replacement. However, due to LA Solar's incorrect mapping, it's impossible to pinpoint which specific optimizers are malfunctioning without inspecting each panel individually. This error has turned what should be a simple warranty replacement into a complex and expensive ordeal. Multiple installers have quoted around $10,000 for the necessary inspection and repairs, all agreeing that LA Solar should be responsible for rectifying their mistake. Unfortunately, LA Solar has ceased communication after we relayed this information. The consequences of this situation are severe. Our substantial investment in clean energy, motivated by our commitment to combating climate change, is now essentially non-functional. The potential long-term savings we anticipated have been wiped out by this unforeseen complication. Proper initial mapping would have allowed for easy identification and replacement of faulty optimizers through the monitoring system. Instead, we're left with a system requiring costly manual inspection of every panel. We're deeply disappointed and feel misled by LA Solar. We hope they'll reconsider their stance and take responsibility for repairing our system, ensuring it functions as intended and preserves our investment in sustainable energy. Dear LA Solar, I'm writing to follow up on the ongoing issues with my solar system installed by LA Solar. Here's a summary of the situation: 1. Solar Edge replaced my inverter on May 23, 2024, after coordination with LA Solar. 2. Solar Edge identified multiple inoperable enhancers, which they would replace for free. However, they noted that the initial installation was incorrect, requiring all 36 panels to be removed and re-mapped to properly diagnose and fix the issue. 3. I've been in communication with Susan G. (susan@lasolargroup.com) about this matter. While she was initially responsive, I haven't heard from her in the past three weeks. Her last correspondence on June 18, 2024, mentioned difficulties in scheduling a technician due to Eugene Shneyde (Eugene@texassolargroup.com) being overwhelmed. 4. I've received a quote of $10,000 for the necessary re-mapping and reinstallation. Given that I invested over $50,000 in this system, I expected it to be installed correctly. The current situation, where the system was improperly mapped and requires extensive work to fix, is deeply concerning. This is especially troubling considering the generous government subsidies provided to solar companies, which come with the expectation of proper installation and functionality. As a company at the forefront of the climate change movement, I believe LA Solar has both a legal and moral obligation to rectify this installation error promptly and at no additional cost to me. I kindly request an immediate response detailing LA Solar's plan to address and resolve this issue. If I don't receive a satisfactory response within the week, I will be forced to explore other options, including legal recourse and reporting to relevant authorities. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. I feel it's important to emphasize the significant impact this situation has had on my family: Since May 2024, our solar system has not been functioning properly. This malfunction has coincided with the peak summer months in Texas, when our energy consumption is at its highest. The timing is particularly challenging as we have a 1-year-old child whose comfort and safety depend on maintaining a properly cooled home during the intense Texas heat. The non-functional solar system has not only led to increased energy costs during this critical period but has also compromised our ability to maintain a comfortable and safe environment for our young child. This ongoing issue has caused considerable stress and financial burden on our family during an already demanding time. I trust you understand the urgency of this situation and will take immediate action to resolve it. We're counting on LA Solar to fulfill its commitment to providing reliable, sustainable energy solutions, especially when it matters most for families like ours. Sincerely, Jason Smith

STAY AWAY FROM LA SOLAR.......

www.LASOLARCLASSACTION.com LA SOLAR GROUP has been a nuisance from day 1. We signed the contract on 02/25/2022 to start the work. It roughly took 8 months to complete what they consider a completed job to be done. More than a dozen missed appointments / NO CALL NO SHOW. Every Time I speak with them they promise everything and anything and disappear. From their sales rep to the customer service to managers to techs. During the install they damaged more then 60% of my roof tiles and told me they will replace it while breaking more tiles in the process. They Broke/Damaged my outdoor Camera, outdoor Speaker, outdoor Light, Rain Gutters, Cracked Stucco, Roof / Roof Tiles,. Drilled a screw right into the bathroom tile breaking it. I didn't even know until I took a shower and cut my foot on the broken glass. It's been over a year and I am still waiting for repairs. Since day one 4 of the panels have not been working, They told me they would change the inverter and said they ordered it and will arrive in a few weeks. When the tech showed up he brought a used and dirty inverter. I told him I don't want used equipment installed and he assured me it's new. After installing it, it did not work and he said I must have picked up the wrong one. I will go to the office and be back in an hour. It's been over a year. How far is the office???? During the sales pitch they assured me they have 24/7 monitoring and if anything goes wrong they will be out to fix the issue before I even notice. What a joke that was. They lied during the sales pitch and lied throughout the whole project. They told me for the amount of panels I need I will have to do a panel upgrade and only installed 1/3 of the panels they said I needed . They assure you in every way till you sign the contract then the games start. When I asked them for their insurance / bond info so I can make a claim to have my house repaired they gave me the run around for 2 months then said go through your own insurance it is not our issue. The sheer negligence by this company must be stopped. This company does Inadequate Maintenance / repairs, Causes Property damages, Installs Used/Damaged equipment, No Show to appointments, AND has a history of Promissory Fraud, Breach of contract and Negligence. To all the home owners Please be aware. With everyone's help we can put an end to this. Join me and TOGETHER WE CAN TAKE ACTION. UPDATE. I originally posted this review on 01/30/2024 and within minutes was contact by a Quality Control Manager asking me to please give them another chance ( This would be the 19th time a person from LA SOLAR asking me to give them 1 last chance to fix the issues ) Being fed up and tired I Agreed to give them 1 LAST chance. They asked me to please remove the review in good faith and give them 2 weeks to resolve all the issues. It's been a little over 2 weeks now and nothing has been resolved. They sent a person over to take a look at the damages and he was stunned when he saw the Condition of the roof and said I will relay this back to the company. Then all I received was just calls letting me know they are working on it and will call me back. They were supposed to call me on Friday ( 01/09/2024 ) with an update and I never got a call and I'm still waiting for an update and repairs. To all homeowners I hope you find this review before you sign a contract with LA Solar Group . www.LASOLARCLASSACTION.com

Stay clear, nothing but headaches

We started the process in January of 2023. I Knew solar installers break a lot of tiles and they do not manufacture the tiles used on my house anymore. So I found used tiles before the project started and bought 20 used tiles. The installers broke 11 tiles and replaced them with my tiles. It took 6 months to get the system installed including a battery backup. They missed or were late for many appointments. Then SCE took 3 months to approve my PTO (Permit Tp Operate). LA Solar said go ahead and turn it on. I tried and the system did not work. As many have already said "you can not get a hold of anyone". When you finally do they tell you they are all over it and you don't here from until the next time you waste hours trying. My system is still not working going into the 10th month. I would not recommend them to anyone. Their customer service is the worst that I have ever had.

11.25kW with PowerWall+ Contract signed in June. Install "completed" on October. Dec 7 - PTO. When they finally turned on the system, even though it should have been on but not pushing to the grid since install - but I didn't know that. System was peaking at ~30% of capacity. They blamed a Tesla config issue. Jan 7 - LA Solar Group collects their first payment, as per contract. To be paid monthly. Feb 6 - Two months of back and forth later, I finally just picked up the phone myself and asked Tesla to look at it. LA Solar Group could have done this at any point. Tesla found no configuration faults or issues. LA Solar Group finally sends out a non-Tesla-certified tech because they had my address correct, but not my name or system type. They had me listed as having Enphase, which the guy was certified for. He attempts to help so as not to leave me hanging, but ultimately fries the inverter while he's on the phone with Tesla. The system has generated nothing since this date. I am now paying SCE for my electricty, and LA Solar Group because I have to. Feb 7 - LA Solar Group collects their payment. Feb 10 - They send their Tesla-certified tech to see if they can salvage it. He and Tesla determine it's actually fried with no fix. Tesla straight-up says no RMA since the tech that fried it wasn't certified. I was outside with him when Tesla said it. And I'm told by the tech that since it's a Powerwall+ they'd have to replace the entire ~$10,000 battery array out of pocket if they can't RMA. Which sucks because the battery itself is fine. Mar 7 - LA Solar Group collects their payment. Apr 7 - LA Solar Group collects their payment. Apr 13 - Much back and forth. Many promises made and broken to resolve it quickly. A tech is scheduled to arrive today. A delivery truck similar to the one that delivered my first Powerwall+ arrives. My name and address are on his list, but he has nothing in the truck for me. The tech shows up, but he's here to install some Tesla Rapid Shutdown MCIs that should have been there since install since Tesla requires them - and having these installed at the time might have prevented the system from frying in the first place. At very least, they could have faulted this for the RMA and Tesla would have been more likely to accept that. Apr 26 - The Tesla-certified tech returns, asking me where they delivered the replacement battery to. I tell him there has been no delivery. He calls his people, they say to attempt the RMA again now that the MCIs are installed. He's visibly upset, but they sign his checks - so I get that he has to do the dance. Because Tesla isn't stupid, they documented that the warranty is void. No RMA. Once again, I was outside with him when Tesla said it. May 7 - LA Solar Group collects their payment. May 8 - They apologize that things are taking so long, but they want me to know that they're *really* pushing Tesla for that RMA. I gave them until Friday May 12 to have a replacement imminent. The manager unironically emails me 1-on-1 asking me to be patient because install takes time. May 12 (Today) - It's now 4:30PM and I haven't heard a word. My SCE true-up is already well over $1000 - an amount I didn't think I'd have to pay for the entire year, much less by May. Even when it's fixed: this will be my problem, not theirs.

Stay clear of this company

Do not use this company for solar. This company does not take any pride in what they do and when they make a mistake, they will do whatever they can to put the blame on the homeowner and tell the homeowner to go pound sand. Here is what they have put my family through the last two years… - LA Solar installed solar; leaks appeared shortly after solar installed. No leaks prior to solar and that was tried and test through several storms prior. (they broke 70% of our roof tiles at solar install and they stated the leaks had nothing do with the install) - LA Solar finally took some responsibility (after much back in forth, over two months of them trying to put the blame on my family) and re-tiled the roof (70% of our tiles were broken at solar install), they supposedly “fixed” the roof/eave/cricket that was damaged. - my family spent thousands of dollars fixing the home back to original state after the damage done (LA Solar did not compensate for this) and we thought we were done with this company. - In a recent storm it was discovered in the same area that LA Solar ‘fixed’ was indeed leaking one year after the work was completed to ‘fix’ the situation. - la solar was to send out a roofer after reaching out several times and instead they sent an inspector to try to point the finger somewhere else and saying it was not solar related - After over 30+ calls, several times being hung up on by customers service, 8 voicemails and dozens of text never being responded too over a period of a week, la solar finally indicated they do not believe it's their fault and for my family to reach out to the roofer who did the work - we re-iterated that LA Solar was roofing company that did the work, no communication after from la solar to help remedy the Situation - another storm comes through and more water damage - we reach out and la solar states not our fault, but if you insist we will send someone out and will charge you for the roofer to review roof and remedy the situation - la solar has not provided number or contact for the roofer who "fixed" our roof last year (March of 2022), still making it our problem even though we have been asking for help for over three weeks. - As it stands, we still have no remedy to the situation, we have water in our walls and under our brand new floors that we had to install after the first leaks and seems like we are going to have to battle LA Solar to do the right thing. - LA solar stated they do not believe the leak in the exact same location from last year is their fault and attempting to put the blame on our family and have our family incur further costs (upwards of 10K for damage that needs to be remedied). They indicated because the of heavy rainfall, the roof must be leaked due to heavy rainfall and that happens (even though the roof was supposedly fixed 13 months prior) , and it is not their fault. - we are in week 6 with no solution and still LA Solar putting the fault on my family for shotty work. We are now going to have to seek legal council and spend countless hours and money to recoup what was taken from our Family. Needless to say, after going through hell with the install of solar panels, we cannot seem to get LA Solar out of lives and all the issues that comes with them. We would never recommend a company that is cares little to nothing about its customers and does such shotty work and goes about their craftmanship with negligence. If you get a bid from LA Solar, make sure you add a minimum extra 30% to cover the damage they will cause to your property plus countless hours wasted trying to get someone on the phone. Please use this testimony as a reason to stay away from this company. All they have brought to my family is headaches, significant financial burden and stolen our home away from us. I would never wish this company upon anyone.

Nearly 6 months in, still not installed.

Last year I reached out to Enphase directly to ask for installers and they recommended LA Solar Group. The Enphase support rep really guided me and highly recommended this company so after some additional bids I went with them. The job: update existing solar system (22 panels) to IQ8 inverters and add additional 18 panels also with IQ8 inverters and unify into one system, 40 inverters total with 40 panels. Working with LA Solar Group has been an absolute nightmare. I signed loan paperwork to lock in a good interest rate, and was finalizing with the HOA (and so not yet approved) when out of nowhere a week before thanksgiving materials just showed up and blocked my driveway with a bunch of panels and inverter boxes, tubing pipes and loose hardware materials. I couldn't get ahold of anyone for nearly two days until someone got back to me and said they dont know what happened and if they could leave the materials. I told them that was fine, HOA approval was imminent, but materials had to be moved to the backyard, the HOA would throw a fit if sat out in the driveway more than a few days, as HOA's do. No shows, no call backs, thanksgiving comes around and after many frustrated conversations and more complaining some crew shows up close to midnight and manages to move stuff the backyard. I get approval right after thanksgiving and I inform them. I don't hear much for weeks even with insistent complaining on my end, one of my toddlers decks herself on the stacked up panels. After this incident I tell them if the panels don't go up in the next few days the entire project will be cancelled. The next day someone shows up for about 3 hours and they start updating the inverters. They leave, then again nothing, a few more days later another crew shows up and updates more inverters and then they leave. Rinse and repeat for about 2 to 3 weeks until the existing panels are updated. The new panels are still hanging out on the ground, now there's metal shrapnel everywhere, screws, materials strewn about my backyard, kids arent going back there. More complaints on my end. Guys randomly show up, say its not their job to install the panels and leave. One guy literally shows up and tells me they told him to show up so I wouldn't get pissed off when no one came!! Basically this story goes on and on, eventually enough complaints happen, some guys finally show up a few weeks later and they put up the new 18 panels and they tell me now the electrician needs to show up and take care of plugging everything in. Another week or so goes by, its been raining, I give it a pass, finally an electrician shows up at some random morning at 7am. Tells my wife he looked and didn't need to do ANYTHING and left. They scheduled an inspection about a week later and of course, it failed. First its, 'Oh only a few breakers need to be changed" and then later "oh we need to majorly redo the plan and resubmit to the city". About a month goes by, nothing is happening. I ask for evidence they submitted plan revisions or evidence of coorespondance with my city. Nothing, silence. I reached out to my city hall and they have no record of any recent correspondence. I make more calls, more complaints, ask for evidence of site plan submissions, threaten to call a lawyer and issue complains to contracting board and some other areas where Southern California. Finally they send another crew out, its now mid-end of February. They come by spend a whole day here and completely redo work that other people have done, put in a combiner box and tell me everything is good to go. These guys seem significantly more seasoned and I do feel better. I am told I have to wait for Edison to approve something and it could take 3 weeks or so with the NEM changes. Thats fine. Someone came over the weekend and provisioned the new boxes and I go and look at the system website and it looks like they never plugged in the NEW 18 panels, only reconnected my old panels AND out of the 22 panels that already existed only 11 are producing energy. So at this point I've now lost 4 to 5 months of energy generation from my old panel system, have been paying a loan for a panel system that is not installed and I am continuing to get the run around. I have informed enphase of this since they recommended them, have posted to reddit and yelp. I plan to contact my local newspaper and news agencies in the coming week to warn others. Do not do business with LA Solar Group.

Won't Finish the Work - Stay Away!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Let me share my saga. I came to LA Solar as a referral from a solar group that LA Solar acquired. Evidently they didn't bring any of the successful DNA from Barnes Solar over... Brian my sales rep was and continues to me wonderful. We priced out and financed the right solar solution for me. He took the time to hear what I needed and covered all the details. After a week or two of back and forth to get things right, I signed documents in September 2022. Brian had already shared with me that inventories were backed up, so I wasn't expecting a quick turn around on installation. The install crew came out in early December to put everything on the roof. When they were finished there were four solar panels still on the ground. I counted the ones on the roof, and the right number were installed. What I came to understand is that they installed the WRONG panels. Instead of the 450w panels I had ordered, they had installed 390w panels instead. The inventory guys evidently caught the error and added four panels to make up the wattage difference - but never bothered to tell me. After much back and forth, we agreed to keep the 390w panels and have new drawings created in mid-December. Then the work stopped. After THREE failed inspections, they finally put the additional four panels on the roof (in the wrong location), and still have yet to pass an inspection. I can't get anyone from the production team to call me back, or take this serious. Due to my financing, they already have 80% of the money. The bank has sent me the first bill, and I still don't have live solar on my house (March 2023). I've complained, written to the Contractors Licensing Board, and pestered - but they just don't care. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They don't take their work seriously, can't communicate internally or externally, and won't finish your job in any sort of timely way without constant micromanagement on your part. STAY AWAY!

I't been 8 months and still I'm waiting with an unfinished system. When they were in the attic a workman put his foot through the ceiling and never mentioned it. I have told numerous people and nothing happens with fixing it. When they came to bring my solar batteries they left pallets and large cardboard boxes here. I cant get anyone from the company to remove them. I am so sorry I got involved with this company. RUN AWAY FAST, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!

They suck

Where to being? They are so unprofessional and you can’t get a hold of them for nothing. They come when very they want and do as they please. Once they have you sign that contract they don’t give two s…. About you. I would never recommend them to anyone. They took 6 months to do my solar.

Absolute worst!

I wish I could give them a big fat ZERO star!. Called them because I received an email that my system wifi was not connected. Downloaded the app followed all the directions to no avail. Called back was told they had to try to walk me threw it before she would schedule a Technician , who were scheduled 2 weeks out. Had to call back because my phone was already red. Called back at 4:30 Pacific time just rang and rang no one answered. Called the next day (Saturday) Jasmine could offer me no help because she was the only one there to answer the phone ( her words) takes my name and number and tells me “someone from the scheduling dept. would call me on Monday”, I asked for they’re extension, because I know they’ll not call me on Monday, she gives me the extension that I just called!?. I asked her if she was the scheduling dept she say yes, WTH, then why can’t you just schedule me now I asked?, because she is the only one there just to answer the phone. In the time we had this conversation she could have scheduled the appt. The absolute worst customer service ever. I need to see if there’s a way to change Monitors and get the State of California involved. Buy from a Solar company that doesn’t partner with this company.

Disappointment

I was contacted by a third party sales person(said he was Tesla-not the Car Company), who I thought or was lead to believe was a solar company. I learned after completing the financial assistance documentation that no, they were just turning me over to LaSolar for installation. Everything from last May until now has been the worst experience. LaSolar promised a quick install and up and running, nope. They never showed up on start date and numerous calls to the company. When they finally showed up, they did not have enough of the framework per the permit, so they used something else that the inspector caught. They missed two county inspections and the inspector was not happy. Numerous promises they will come out, but no show and no call to me. More importantly, they never confirmed with Pge of my 11k system and installed it, only to learn Pge said they needed another transformer that would delay project for six or .more months, and yes I am paying the finance company monthly. Pge said my system needs to be reduced to 3.3k, LaSolar said they would retire, and now in November, still not completed. I am committed to this company for warranty for 20 years! I don’t think they can stay in business that long. Yes, the finance company paid them, and I am stuck with the bill and no solar. They should have contacted Pge before installing the solar! Learn from this experience people, never install until Pge says you can get solar
