Easy, professional, timely

These guys did a fantastic job on my new panels. They added on to an existing system and they were head and shoulders above the company we worked with on the original system. They were fast, communicative and professional. I'd recommend them to anyone considering going solar.

Just started my services

I have had nothing but the best experiences with Kota and my solar consultant, Sameer. There was no pressure to purchase and just all around knowledgeable about programs available to me for my home. Solar start date was actually before the estimated start date. Would use again for another home and would highly recommend to anyone who is even interested in starting or going Solar.

My experience with KOTA was nothing short of excellent. From beginning to end, the process was smooth. My sales representative, David, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He stayed in contact with me throughout the entire process and communicated every step of the way. The installation was flawless and the project manager was very professional. Easy, fast, high quality

I had an excellent experience with Kota from beginning to end. The sales rep, Jake, was able to answer all my questions and I had a lot! I got quotes from four other companies, but this was the only one that came across as both organized and knowledgeable. I only was looking at high end panels and inverters and Kota fit the bill. Everything was done quickly and on schedule. All responses were prompt and they walked me through the whole process. It was so easy.

Exceptionally impressive. Sean was incredibly knowledgeable, very patient, kind and kept me in the loop. He explained everything to me and answered my all my questions. I was so hesitant to get solar because I have heard so many horrors stories. The customer service from Kota and Sean are top notch. I would recommend them to anyone. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

We had some issues with the install with how long it took and some re-work but overall very glad we decided to go solar. Skylar S, our salesman is super knowledgeable and very polite. I reached out months after the system was turned on and he still remembered us and took the time to answer our questions. If you go solar we recommend Kota

Solar you can count on

I had wanted to get solar for a very long time but always got confused by the different companies and power purchase agreements or leases. All other companies before KOTA seemed a bit sketchy and never mentioned purchase options. That’s when a Kota rep stopped by my house. He was professional, informed and interested in hearing what I wanted to do. That peaked my I retest so I set up a full review with them. Daniel was organized, prepared, personable and professional. He made an excellent presentation based on my electric uses and asked me how I wanted to proceed. It was a positive experience from start to finish. Daniel said what he would do and then he did it. I decided to purchase and finance. Kota took care of all the details even permits with the city and NEM with SCE. Very impressed. I felt like a VIP and was very pleasantly surprised. If you have always wondered about solar and wanted to know more but was not impressed with the solar companies out there, or just plain confused, Kota may be the company for you and Daniel may be the rep. It has been about 5 months now and I am very pleased. I have been telling all my neighbors too. Thanks Daniel and team for an excellent experience.

Worst Solar Company ever!

I had nothing but issues getting my solar panels installed but the worst part is getting a service call 5 months later when half my solar panels stopped working. They went out on March 25th and after several calls they could not get me in until April 12th. April 12th came and I made 11 calls to the Customer Service dept confirming they were coming and Guess what? Nobody showed up. No call nothing. I contacted Cole the CEO and he told me they were working on it but I got crickets. I am in the roofing business and this is the worst service I have ever dealt with. Do not get your solar panels from KOTA they may seem good in the beginning but their service is terrible.

Legit company.

My Solar experience from Kota has been great. From Daniel and Eric with getting me started with buying Solar and the installation crew were great. They are top notch professionals representing Kota. My project manager Yessi has been great keeping me up to date on everything going on with the process. Kota has the best warranty and process to getting Solar. And to think I wasn't even looking into getting Solar at the time. Thank you Kota and crew for a great experience.

Bad Customer Service

So a little background first, we purchased our home in 2018 and it sits on a corner lot. This makes the home a natural attractant for solicitors of all kinds from my favorite Girl Scouts (we all love those cookies) to my least favorite Jehovah's Witnesses. Almost immediately after we moved into the home we started to get a lot of different solar companies coming to our door and we always said no to them. Last year Donna who is also our neighbor came to the door and was selling solar. She was so nice and polite so much so that when we got COVID she even offered to go to the store and get us medications. The best neighbor ever right? She talked to me about solar and answered a lot of questions for us. For 9 months I did a lot of homework on what seemed like an endless amount of solar companies in San Diego. I finally decided on KOTA because it was one of the better companies when it came to current customers and a few neighbors that I talked and allowed me to see their installations in their homes. I had a good feeling and was convinced KOTA was the best choice for my family's needs when it came to solar. Today is March 18, 2023 why the date? Well we had the system installed early February 2023 and finally went live on February 29th. Right off the start I noticed problems with the monitoring app. It kept saying the system was not producing power or if it was it was at the extreme low equivalent to what a solar calculator would produce 0.01kWh. I called, texted and emailed the Project Manager various times to no avail. It seems I got every excuse possible from "I was out sick" to "I'm overloaded with customers", "NEM 3.0" and so on. Finally on Monday March 6th a tech came over and looked at the system and found that One panel was installed incorrectly and had a cut wire which burnt out the micro inverter to the panel. The panel was decommissioned and the micro inverter removed. He reported the findings to KOTA management and he told me someone would be in touch during the week, well it's been two weeks and I have not heard anything from KOTA. I finally got a text from the PM which said he had elevated the issue to customer service and above (whatever that means) but 2 weeks have passed since that and not one single person has gotten in touch with me or even attempted to reach out. Mind you KOTA has my email addresses and my cell number, so no texts, emails or phone calls or even US mail would work (desperate by now). At this point I feel I purchased a lemon and I have no way out of this situation. This is a last ditch attempt at getting something done by KOTA before exhausting all my avenues for action. I have already contacted my attorney for advice on what my legal choices are here but I don't want to go to that extreme "YET". Honestly I just want to get what I paid for, a working solar system that produces 6 kWh of electricity because right now the daily 0.01 kWh is not what I paid $25,000 for. If KOTA needs to replace the Enphase panel, the shorted micro inverter and the solar panel or any other component(s) then they should just let me know what course of action they are taking to remedy the issue or issues and if there is any warranty paperwork I need to fill out. If you are wondering where Donna is in all of this, well Donna has been working extremely hard at getting something done about this but even she has hit 12 inch concrete walls with KOTA. If I was to be asked today by a potential KOTA customer if I recommend them my answer would be a resounding "NO", I wouldn't even recommend them to the ex-wife and this says a lot. Honestly if you put value in customer service this is not the company to go with. Semper Solaris may penetrate a cross beam incorrectly but that can be fixed easily and their customer service is a 100 times better. I regret going with KOTA every time I look at the app.

Impressive service and product

We had an excellent experience with Jake and Koda regarding our solar power panel install. We had installed a new roof about 5 years ago and we've been holding off on any type of insulation of solar because we did not want to add anything to our property that would not match the look we were attempting to achieve. Jake had an install taking place a few houses away and knock on our door to discuss the possibility of install with his company. This was the first time we had met Jake but not the first time that a solar panel sells rep had knocked on our door. However after listening to Jake speak and his knowledge of the product we allowed him to continue the presentation. Jake is an excellent representative of his company. He took the time to listen to our concerns and answer our questions. Once he showed us the design and answered some installation questions, we knew it would be a good match. After reviewing the product and verifying our needs we decided to move forward with the purchase and installation. At that point, the next steps were all first class. Jake and his team made all the contacts and set up the insulation date. They were on time and informative throughout the entire process. The type of panels and the installation we discussed were spot on. The first month we were able to receive credit for the solar we saved more than half of our normal PG&E bill. This was going into the winter months. We are still seen a savings of over 30% of our normal bill. Besides the saving the look of the solar panel came out amazing. We could not be more happy with Jake and the coda team. Thank you for an excellent experience and product!

Outstanding and Painless! KOTA, and their representative (Jared) made our decision easy. Jared always stayed engaged in the process and kept us updated on all progress. The installation was scheduled and coordinated with us to our convenience and challenging schedules. Work was performed on schedule, efficiently and exceeded our expectations. WE ARE HAPPY CUSTOMERS, Absolutely recommend KOTA – Ask for Jared (OUTSTANDING!).

Good experience working with Kota

I had a good experience with Kota Solar. Sameer was my sales and customer contact person. He was not pushy to try to make a sale, but was very helpful in providing information and education. To pay for the system, it was helpful to me that Kota offered multiple options and financing rates available to choose from. Sameer was willing to work with me to get the right number of panels for the financing that would work for me. The installation team was top notch. They did a great job to make the whole system look good. The only thing I think they can improve on is communication between their customer contact person and their installation and support team. Most of the project went relatively fast compared to others' that I've heard. Initial contact was in September of 2022, and Permission To Operate was approved in November 2022. However, it still took until December to turn on the system. Overall, Kota did a great job.

A+ Customer Service

Sean Silvestri and the team at Kota are really great to work with. Sean's knowledge of solar and options for our home and lifestyle were very helpful. Unlike other solar companies we spoke to that simply just wanted us to sign a contract, Sean spent time with us to make sure we understood all options, and then he made recommendations on our needs and wants. Customer service A+. We are looking forward to getting our solar panels installed and getting away from the ridiculously expensive prices of SDG&E!

If you like to be Ignored, then go with Kota Energy Group

I had solar panel's installed last year, and on one of the panels is uneven. I have called Koda 7 times, and every time they would apologies to me and tell me that they will send someone to align the panels for me, but they keep ghosting me hoping that I forget. They are very responsive to get your money and get the panels installed on your roof, but when it comes to repair and adjustment good luck. I don't recommend them to anyone, save yourself from the headache and don't select them for your solar needs. thanks,

Horrible

Kota installed solar panels right next to an old hot water heater vent that prevents 2 of our panels from performing at full capacity. At first Kota refused to address the issue and basically said the pipe is the problem. That is exactly my point. They are the experts so why would they propose putting the panels so close to the vent in the first place. After dozens of attempts to get them to address the issue they finally scheduled a day to come out and look at the issue. An hour before the appointment they texted a cancellation message saying they’d get back with me with a new day. They didn’t do so. After another call they had me on hold once again. They then proposed charging me to remove the panels while I paid another company to remove the vent and then Kota would charge me to reinstall the panels. It has been maddening trying to deal with this company after they received payment for the panels and installation. I expect them to take responsibility for their error and make this right in order for us to get 100% out of our panels. We specifically went through all of our future electrical needs when deciding on the number of panels to install and now we are not getting what we paid for. We are extremely disappointed and expect this matter to be rectified.

Everything works great

No complaints. They did a good job. Install was under four hours (20 panels, one array). Everything works great.

KOTA Install and AC

I had my solar system installed and AC by Kota Solar. The whole process was well presented. Joey our Solar rep welcomed any questions we had and answered fully and explained all the details. He was communicative and responsive. I am 100% satisfied with their help, expertise and the end result. The service was impressive!

Wonderful people. Easy experience.

Working with Ryan at Kota was super easy. I had already spoken to several other solar companies and every one felt like they were trying to scam me or make me sign something without allowing me time to research or ask questions. Ryan was the complete opposite. He took the time to answer all my questions and was very supportive during the whole process. The entire team was helpful, prompt and just a pleasure to work with. I highly Recommend them.

Not reccomended

4 months no solar they fail inspections but u will have a solar bill and still be paying pg&e who knows when or if itll ever pass so meantime i have 2 bills

Highly Recommend to Everyone!!! Wonderful experience

I had my solar system installed by KOTA recently. They checked off every single box: sales rep, installers and installation quality, price, responsiveness, warranties, product and equipment, customer service.. 10/10 for everything!!! I am very happy with everything from beginning to end. The sales rep, Lauren Bouskila, came to my door about a month ago. At first, I was very skeptical because my bill was pretty low. Lauren was able to show me the value of solar and still manage to bring my monthly payments to a price that is less than what I pay for electricity today, and I am getting 2x as much power as I use today, AND they installed a charger for my Tesla that arrived this week. Lauren explained every step of the process to me. She made it to where I didn't even have to lift a finger! Her knowledge of solar and everything she did to understand my needs and make sure my system was tailored exactly to the needs of my house gave me confidence every step of the way. She never came to my house empty handed, always had thoughtful and meaningful gifts with her. The price was also EXCELLENT. It was the best price of all bids I got. I have been impressed with Kota every step of the way. The technicians and installers were also a pleasure to work with. They did my whole installation in half a day and were very hardworking men. I would HIGHLY recommend KOTA Solar and the sales rep Lauren Bouskila to anyone considering solar for their home.

Loved working with Kota. Ryan and the team were on top of everything from Day 1. I would get regular calls and emails to let me know about each step of their progress. When they made a commitment they stuck by it even when they had to fix some previous work that was done on our electrical system that was not up to code. Ryan stayed with us through the process from beginning to end, was always upbeat and upfront about everything. All in all it was excellent service and I would highly recommend.

Exceptional Experience!

Let me start off by saying that I was very hesitant to go Solar due to a previous bad experience with a different company. I made Sameer, my sales rep, aware of my past experience and he assured me that the service I would receive with KOTA would be exceptional. I had been thinking the process would take about 4-6 months before I was fully up and running. Sameer came to my house and conducted a presentation of how solar works what to expect and all of the steps needed to be fully operational and assured me it wouldn’t take that long. I agreed to purchase 21 REC solar panels with IQ8 micro inverters and a 240v EV charger on 9/27/22. We went through every step in the process from the roof survey, permitting, installation, inspection and finally permission to operate on 11/21/22. I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. The panels are up and running and working great! I totally recommend KOTA Solar if you are looking to go Solar, it’s so worth it. Sameer and his team did an amazing job!
