My husband and I had tried three other solar companies before getting a referral to try Hudson Solar. Finally, we found a company who's hardware would work on my 1930's home. This company went above and beyond to help get our panels installed. They never gave up! Our town where we live keep putting roadblock after roadblock but they were persistent and didn't give up. Finally after months, we now have our solar panels up and running. It feel terrific. We would recommend Hudson Solar to anyone who is interested in helping the environment and their pockets. Can't say enough about this company.

Domestic installation

Hudson Solar installed an eighteen unit panel on my roof in June. The unit's performance completely meets my most optimistic expectations. Throughout the entire installation process from first meeting to engineering proposal, installation, and follow-through, I found Hudson Solar to be highly competent, professional, timely, and easy to work with.

Education a must

I did quite a bit of time educating myself about different types of installation and buying vs leasing. Hudson solar made the most sense and they were easy to work with and helped us get all our rebates. We are getting benefits from having bought our system. I would recommend them.

Excellent service, satisfied customer

Our system was installed in mid-February and we are extremely pleased. Hudson Solar did a lot of hand holding through the entire install process - from walking us through every document and making sure we maximized our rebates and tax incentives. Every employee we have encountered was extremely friendly, professional, and thorough in their explanations.

I had a solar system installed by Hudson Solar end of year 2015. Thus far I am very pleased with the system. It has met or exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Hudson Solar for the Install. From day one the people I interacted with were very knowledgeable and professional. Everything they said they would do was done exactly how and when they said it would be done. Whenever I had a question I got immediate and accurate responses. This remained true even after the install was completed and they were no longer under any obligation to respond or assist me.

Local Company, Quality People, Quality Equipment, Quality Work

I wanted to use a local/regional company that had been in business for a while. They were doing solar panels before it became fashionable, so I valued their experience and their record of success was not from massive national advertising campaigns. If I had a problem, the phone wasn't answered out West somewhere, but in the Hudson Valley. I also know many issues are from many companies using less than quality components. Hudson Solar uses all quality equipment. I had done a lot of reading, so I didn't really need to be sold. Hudson Solar handled all the paperwork and did all the contacts, from the filing for the building permits, filing with the lenders (I bought, not leased), arranging things with the Utility (Central Hudson), arranging for inspections, dealing with NYSERDA for the rebates. In addition, they easily dealt with a special issue with my install, as I had a generator hookup at the meter. They engineered a solution that would still allow me to use the generator if needed during an extended power failure (say at night when the panels aren't operating,) As with any outdoor construction project, you are at the mercy of the weather, but the install was done within the week. The install crew were friendly, professional, accommodating and informative., To be succinct , they knew their stuff. They left the worksite neat and clean everyday. Upon completion, the Project Manager Josh explained how the system worked, the controls, the monitoring system. I haven't had to do any follow-up, but even after they had my money, they were very responsive. I would heartily recommend Hudson Solar if you want a quality, experienced, knowledgeable LOCAL company for your solar electric project.

Great Experience

After having four companies provide us with quotes and product information we decided to use Hudson Solar and are very happy that we did. The entire process was a terrific experience from first meeting our sales person to the financing and installation. Every step of the process was very well managed and we were always kept in the loop during the entire installation. The men doing the installation were very clean and considerate of our home. Our system is perfect for our electrical use and after a year of having the system we are right on target with our usage. We appreciate that we were able to purchase our system rather than rent it and that we were not oversold on the number of panels that would support our needs. We highly recommend this company to meet all your needs.

There are three main aspects I would mention as a review: the product and it's construction, the installation and the staff. Since I began looking at ground mount systems I've looked at several other systems in my area and I would rate Hudson Solar's the highest. The plan for installation and engineering group was flexible with all my requirements and the completed system is neat and professionally installed. As for the staff, every person from Hudson Solar has been and continues to be professional and more then willing to make the relationship positive. I'm very pleased on all three of these aspects and certainly would recommend their system and service.

I'm fully satisfied with all interaction and phases of the process, from sales thru design and installation. It demonstrates competence, caring, and dedication. Price was very competitive - better than the big national names. (I chose to purchase, not lease, for better long-term return on investment). When you choose a Solar installer, you will be better off picking a company which will be around for years to come. I'm confident that I made the best choice.

If You Care About Quality, Hire Hudson Solar

Hudson Solar takes quality and longevity into account at every step. The components they choose to work with will coast a little more than some others, but it's because they are the best. The price you are spending is likely about as much as a car or kitchen/bath remodel. When choosing options and a contractor/dealer to work with for these purchases do you look for the cheapest components and lowest cost contractor - if so, I've got a pretty good idea what you'll end up with and how likely you are to recommend the work to someone else. The sales proposals and production estimates offered by Hudson are realistic, accurate, and if anything slightly conservative (my system has been up for four years now and is producing exactly what they said it would). They take the extra time to do things right on the job. Our site was randomly inspected by NYSERDA after the system was installed and it received a perfect score. According to information published by the company performing these inspections only 25% of the systems they inspect are considered trouble free (while over 25% have major or critical issues!!). Like almost everything else you purchase, you'll pay a bit more for quality products and services, but often end up paying even more to go the low cost option first and have to deal with the consequences afterwards. Do it right the first time and hire Hudson Solar.

Wonderful experience

We looked around a lot before going with Hudson Solar. The weren't the cheapest, although they did offer us cheaper alternatives, but they also didn't offer us what appeared to be the unrealistic returns that we got from some other providers. Our project manager Chris Patek was there to answer each and every concern that we had and to offer his experienced opinion. He listened to exactly what we wanted and designed a system to fit our needs and wants. The engineers and installation staff were clearly experienced, helpful and accommodating. We went live last September and have been incredibly happy. They continue to monitor our production on a regular basis to insure the system is working as it should. We would highly recommend Hudson Solar!

WHY Lease when You can own

I have a geothermal system in my home and quickly learned that running this system in cold winter months made HUDSON CENTRAL extremely happy. I started to look around for a an affordable option for energy. I turn to solar city and the representative quickly told me to lease the solar panels and pay per kilowatt. The conversation was really interesting and it sounded light it would be the answer to all my energy problems. I started a research campaign and realize that solar city take all the government rebates and incentives and you get not even a dime. They use your home to put these solar panels and don't even give you a percentage of the federal tax grant. I soon realized that they were running a boarder line legal scam. Then I met Chris Patak an amazing HUDSON Solar Solar consultant. He Educated me on the process to own your on piece on the grid yes I mean owning your solar system. I have been extremely happy with HUDSON SOLARS ability to answer all my questions. They are the way to you solar future. As a homeowner who recently had a Solar system installed by Hudson Solar, I can’t say enough good things about this company. From the beginning of inquiring about purchasing a system to a year later today, they have been friendly, professional, and very fast getting our system from first concept to completed and saving us money daily. Whether it was getting us information, explaining the financing details (tax credits and rebates), and following up with us through the entire project (even a months after completion), our representative Chris has been nothing short of fantastic. As far as the system itself, the installation process was seamless and impressive. Wes and his installation crew are skilled at their craft. The job was completed quickly, they do extremely clean work always with a mindful eye on the overall aesthetics. There was virtually no interruption to our daily lives while the install was happening. It was obvious that they truly care and are passionate at their craft as well as happiness of their customers. we purchased our Solar System from Hudson Solar after researching all solar companies. we are now glad we chose Hudson Solar. Our project manager Chris is the best, he guided us from day one til the system went live and still if I have any questions he makes himself available. Dickerson Ave Installation

Our installation, which was purchased rather than leased, was completed in December of 2015. We couldn't be happier. Our electric bill has plummeted. The knowledge and advice we received from Hudson Solar was fantastic. They really know what they are doing! The electrical inspector and the building inspector both commented that Hudson Solar did a really good job. There were no hidden costs! The material used was of a higher quality than the material offered by the leasing companies. The panels from the leasing company were made in China, with a supposed 20 year warrantee. Ours came from Korea but manufactured by a division of LP, a well known large company which has been in business for many years. I have heard some of these Chinese companies go out of business after a few years so what good is their warrantee.
