Everyone I was involved with at Suncommon was great too work with. As for the employees that came too our house for the work they had to perform, nothing but professional. That’s not to say there weren’t minor bumps during the whole process but in the end we’re worked out. We are very pleased with the end result, which took about 4 months, start to finish.

Mr Steve
Mostly good. Took longer to install than I thought which resulted in no solar energy production until almost winter when the sun is low and the snow flies. They didn't give me an estimated schedule. But I am getting more production than I thought I would in December. Even this morning after several inches of snow overnight I was getting some output. The response time to my inquiries could have been better, especially from the project manager. I also lost a weekend of production because I wasn't told that all I had to do was throw the PV disconnect switch on after the utility installed their meter. This project is very expensive for someone my age so I will have a better idea of the return on investment after a year of history and when I get my tax rebate to assess the total initial cost against expected future benefit. My other source of energy is propane which I expect will get increasingly expensive so this will offset some of that. The other unknown is the future cost of electricity. All these considerations will impact the long term assessment of the value of this project.

Steve, we're sorry to hear that you didn't have a 5-Star experience. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and provide constructive feedback regarding the install timeline and communications. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. Congratulations on making the switch to solar

I believe that one's perspective on an issue or event is all about the expectation. If the expectation is met or is close, then your perspective is positive. I believe a better job can be done by sales team and install team to set a more realistic expectation of project timing and completion, along with the various obstacles that can or may occur to alter that. Otherwise, the staff was helpful and courteous, and the install was very professional and clean. I would definitely recommend Hudson Solar.. but I would also advise that a closer analysis of electrical usage data be gathered ahead of time to better estimate the system needed.

Pittsfield Ma Solar install
Very Pleased with my 5,8 kw system installed by Hudson last September, although I wish I had filled the south side of my roof (could have added another 3 or 4 panels for a 6.8 kw). Although there were some issues in the beginning when a new Project Manager took over due to the original one moving on to another job opportunity IE. I needed to do some pushing and prodding of electric company and inspectors to get everything in order so install could start which should have been handled by Hudson Solar. Install team was very professional and tidy! Engineering Team was very educational when I came up with some questions and concerns after the install had started and quickly resolved some reporting issues I was having with my Revenue Grade Meter. So far I am at approximately 103% of expected output for the first year!

You get what you pay for.
This is a high priced company that uses the highest grade components, and highly skilled and courteous employees. The ROI that they provided takes a lot of assumptions into account, including the increase of the cost of the property, which is irrelevant for those not looking to sell. I have 5600 kW system from them, and it's covering 100% of my electric usage. The system will break even at 25 year mark, making the whole project a wash financially, but I get a huge smile on my face every time I get my, so it's worth it to me.
