Great System

I just had my first true up with PG&E and I paid them $50. My Hooked On Solar system has worked just as planned. The install took about 4 hours and was done in a very professional manner. I had one minor problem of the system not reporting to my computer and the HOS team came out and reprogramed the system to my new WiFi and the issue was resolved. I am very happy with the entire experience.

Very efficient installation. Good panels that are producing as advertised. Reasonable price after negotiation and a 25 year warranty on system production. Only question is how "hooked on solar" will respond to service calls and warranty if needed. Will do a supplemental review when I have that experience.

Completely statisfied on response

Interviewed 10 firms, solicited bids from 4. Two were comparable. The other firm encountered contractual problems obtaining desired solar panels. Selected Hooked on Solar for their 25 year warranty which included roof leakage. Purchased system outright w/ self financing. Continue to receive cold calls from aggressive solar firms. One promised to cut my electric bill in half, until I explained prior month electric cost was $11 credit.

The entire process was made extremely easy by the people at Hooked on Solar. It took only a few weeks to purchase my panels, get them installed, pass the permit process, and receive start up authorization from PG&E. It couldn't of been simpler. I'm very happy with the customer service, the installation, and the performance of the panels.

Hooked on Solar

We contracted with Hooked on Solar for our solar system. We are coming up on the anniversary of installation, and I checked the proposed "true-up" bill that we expect to receive from PG&E. It should be between 50% to 70% of the amount that Natalie at Hooked on Solar told us we would pay based upon our system. We wanted a system that generated at least 80% to 90% of our electricity use, and it looks like we'll get more than that. Very happy!

Hooked on Solar, what can I say? They had it together from the beginning. Everything went smoothly. From the sales agent to the install, I couldn’t have asked for everything to go better. Great company to work with. The installation took just a few hours. I think my house, being brand new, was already pre-wired, so that eased the installation process quite a bit. But overall, great company. And SunPower panels are the best!

We love it

We have had the system just over 1 year. No problems. I would like to see the app improved. I would like better insight into how each panel is working and not just an overall energy total.

Very smooth process and great production

We got 3 quotes and chose them even though their price wasn't the lowest because of their superior technology. It has been 6 weeks since we started making power and the numbers are coming in very well, even slightly higher than I projected for this time of year - we'll have to wait for more of the year to see if the annual production matches the prediction, but I am expecting it to. The only negative in the whole experience was that shortly after we signed the contract, we were called and told we would need 21 panels instead of 20 because of a slight change in the calculations and they tried to sell us the panel for a very high price. After we stood our ground and insisted that they provide it since it was their calculation, they provided it at no extra cost, but I'm sure it has happened many times where the homeowner ends up paying. Even so, I'm giving them 5 stars because of the great delivery, installation, production, and warranty and would recommend them to a friend!

Great experience. Vry happy with the installation and performance of the panels. Had a programming problem early on with my wifi connection and sunpower responded quickly and fixed it.

As promised and expected

I don't believe I've seen a better or sturdier constructed solar array. Ours is certain to last longer than the contract period. We have received service exactly as promised and are very satisfied and happy with all aspects of the installation and production. We give our whole- hearted recommendation to prospective customers and clients.We believe you will share our opinions of the company.

Our salesperson was by far the most professional solar salesperson we've interacted with, which is part of the explanation for why after five years of considering solar we finally made the leap. Additionally, we were convinced both by the sales materials and other research that Sunpower's technology is the best on the market, and that a lease would result in reliable and affordable solar energy at a level that will serve us well for many years.

When we started to do our homework about solar, I was convinced we did not need it. In doing my research, I found that our rising PG&E bill was NOT due to our usage but to their rate increases. So, we looked at this as an investment in our home and as a way to lower our monthly bills before retiring. We interviewed 3 companies, all very good with 5 star ratings. All quotes came in very close. We chose SUNPOWER by Hooked On Solar because of their customer service; specifically Christy at their Lincoln location. From start to finish they were professional, never tired of our many questions and handled everything from our homeowners association approval process to the permits and inspections required by the city. We can not say enough positive about our experience with Hooked On Solar. I would and have recommended them to our friends!
