My experience with ES Solar has been great! Chris L was exceptional in getting the process underway. They have seamlessly taken care of each process along the way with excellent communication. Excellent quality and excellent service! Everyone on the team has been great throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend ES Solar to anyone making the decision to get solar. They are simply the best in Utah!

Complete waste of time.

I booked a second appt. after spending time with Jeremy for a first time, getting all my info. He never bothered to show up for the second appt. and never texted until AFTER his no show. Just unprofessional. Fortunately that piqued my interest to see if they were horrible with others. Surprise surprise. You find all the negative reviews here. I was upset when he no showed me but it sounds like I dodged a bullet.

The guys that came out to install the panels were absolutely the best. They were professional and informative. Thank you Nathan for explaining everything that made since and not talking over my head.

A summary of our experiences on day 1 of solar operation

This review encompasses my experiences through our investigation of ES Solar, the installation, and getting the system fully working. TL;DR The experience was good overall, and I would do it again. GENERAL: The process was explained at every step, so I had a chance to ask questions and refresh myself on the steps that were to be taken from permits, to installation, to getting the system running. SALES: Contact was initiated with sales during the summer, so it was a busy time. They will respond, but sometimes it takes a little time. Our sales contact was willing to work around my work schedule to meet me in the evenings. He was informative and helpful. We weren't able to move forward right away, so he was willing to come back three months later to help get the process moving. Once we had all our questions answered, had time to review all the information, and sign the contract, we were handed off to another person. WAITING: You must recognize that this is a complex, multi-step process that takes time. We were close three months from our initial inquiries to getting the system fully running (today, 10/26/2023). It was not a surprise--they were clear about the timeline. I very much appreciated the clear communication at each step. Much of our waiting time came from the city or the power company. They also have steps they need to take, which takes time. Just be patient. MULTIPLE CONTACTS: Because of the complexity of the process, I ended up having multiple contacts. Most of the time, this was explained before it happened. Sometimes, I got confused about who would be contacting me about what or who I should contact at each step for questions. I think it would be helpful to have a contact summary list of everyone involved in the project to avoid questions like this, but it's also something I could make for myself. INSTALLATION: We had our roof redone as a part of our solar installation. I felt like I had to prompt folks to get on the schedule, but once we were on the schedule, it all happened very quickly. Our roof was estimated to take one day, but it took three. The team was great, very respectful, and thorough. We had no problems at all. Our solar install was estimated to take one day, and it took exactly one day. The team was able to work around our needs to drop off/pick up kids from school and other responsibilities, which was very appreciated. ACTIVATION: The activation person was respectful, helpful, and knowledgeable of the process. If I had a question that he didn't know the answer to, he would say so. I wish he had suggested how to get my question answered (it was about Solar Edge, so he legitimately was not able to answer). He walked us through the process of applying for the credit from Rocky Mountain Power, explained what documents were needed for taxes, walked us through the warranties, and helped us get the app downloaded, among other things.

Wasted money.

Wasted money. Seen other reviews with same complaint. Support after install is horrible. Battery does not kick in when power is out. Going on 8 hours no power. Not only that but disconnect boxes were not installed in the right location. Installed on the front of house causing an eyesore and effecting my home value.

Very unhappy

These guys say they will help you if you get power bills over $25. I have gotten bills over $100 each month and they have yet to get my panels working right. I have been ripped off. With my payment for panels I am paying almost $300 a month for power and have not gotten help from them.

Great Service!

ES Solar had our battery and solar panels installed in record time. We started the process the first week of August and we are now already up and running including producing enough energy on a cloudy day to send power to the grid and gain credits!! We’ve been very happy with the whole process and everyone at the company has been great!

Worst Company!

Well, I’m very disappointed to have to change my review. I originally gave ES Solar a 5 star review. That was the day they sold me the product and ask for reviews while they are sitting in my living room. That was before the system was installed and before the gigantic headaches began. I have never given a bad review in my life, but I feel I have no further recourse as I am not being taken care of as a customer and want to forewarn anyone else from going through the disaster that this has been with ES Solar. Once they installed the system, I have had horrible service. I have called countless times and talked to many people about my issues. None of which have been resolved. I paid $50,000 for the panels and the somnem battery. The circuits that the battery is supposed to supply power to when the power is out, do not have power when the power goes out. They did an audit after I had the panels for a year and found that I needed over 3,000 more watts than they had originally planned for. I still have not heard anything from them about when they may install more panels. My power bill was $60 a month before I got Solar through ES Solar. My power bill is now $70 a month. Plus I am paying $200 a month for the panels and battery for the next 15 years. This has been a complete waste of $50,000. I wish I had never chosen ES Solar. They are more than happy to make empty promises and take my money, and never actually fix what’s not working with my battery and I have seen zero benefit from having these solar panels. Be warned, DO NOT use ES Solar!! Save yourself the money and the headache! 1

ES solar are the best

I have had my system up and running for going on 3 years. The installation went very well they were done in one day. Cleaned up everything as if they hadn’t even been there. My salesman Jason was upfront and honest with me. I have been very pleased with my system. My Rocky Mountain bill and solar payment are with few exceptions about the same or less than I was paying before on the equal payment plan. I am a very happy customer and would recommend them to anyone who is exploring a solar system for their home.

The representative Bryce was super informative and left us feeling comfortable and happy with our decision to get Solar. Our installers were efficient and quick. Honest representation of the system and what it would do for us. Careful and expert installation for a complex system (I have the Sonnen outdoor battery with full home backup). I would recommend.

We’re happy!

We just finished up the final part of our installation process. Everything went very smooth and the customer service from ALL parties was excellent. The only reason for the less than 5 star rating is because they couldn’t install the AC hub like we were told we would. There were some manufacturer issues that caused a problem. It wasn’t ES Solar that was the problem. I would like to see them install it later when they work the kinks out.

Upgraded my system to get a battery, they were able to make everything seamlessly work, it was great having the independence a Battery gives you!

Love that I always have power

I bought the system to protect my family. There will be outages in utah and I want insurance ill always have power

Everything was explained to us very clearly by the salesman on how the system functions and the benefits of doing solar with a battery. Especially with a background in electrical I think the install crew did a fantastic job of making the system work correctly and look aesthetically pleasing on our home. I’m very happy with the results from Es Solar. Although we had a problem come up with the system reading incorrectly at first ES Solar was quick to respond and get the issue resolved quickly. I’d recommend anyone going solar to go through ES Solar.

ES Solar installed solar and a backup battery making my home self reliant. They did an awesome job. Installation was clean and fine in a timely matter. The app is amazing along with the peace of mind being self reliant has given me. What a simple way to be self reliant.

Lies and dangerous

Warnings -Not worth it. Monthly payment for loan is way more than what we were paying to Rocky Mt, and we are still paying $35 to Rocky Mt. -Full tax credit is not received the first year after install. They mislead you thinking you’ll get that 25-30% back the first time you file taxes. This is a lie. Your loan will be re-amortized and payment will increase. Don’t believe the salesman. -They also told us they would take out bushes and trim a tree that blocks some of the panels. Never happened. -Install was done terribly. They don’t tell you where they are running it. Install day was a nightmare. On top of that they ran the wires through the basement on the outside of the walls. -When it came time to finish the basement we called them and it took a week to get someone out here to re-run the wires (which they don’t even have record of). Ever since then, we have had all of the electricity that is backed up to the new solar breaker going out. The plugs for the fridge go in and out, which are separate from other plugs in the kitchen that go out. The bathroom light and fan get brighter and dimmer, like they are going out. -When the kitchen plugs do work, they are producing over 130 volts, which is way too high. -If we wiggle the breaker, we can get the plugs to work sometimes. Super sketchy having loose wiring like that. We’ve called ES Solar letting them know about these issues and hazards. We have yet to see an electrician out to fix the issues. They have an A rating because they respond to all of their complaints on here. That doesn’t mean they deserve the A. Word of advice, don’t do it.
