****Updated 1-8-25*** This solar is the gift that keeps on giving. They did not properly wire our hot water heater. It burned up other wires in the electrical panel. Lucky our new house did not catch fire. I think the owner should be held liable for screwing so many families out of the things we were promised and damages he created. Picture of our electrically panel below. ***Updated 4-22-2023*** Our solar has been on for a month, however, they only gave us 17 kw of power, not the 22.62kw power they promised us. So, we are paying for a 22.62kw system, but only have 17kw system and they do not seem to care. They never installed the Perfect Power Box we paid for too. ALSO, they collected their money from the bank before the system was running, so I paid on a system for 6 months that was not working. In their sales pitch, they state they will reimburse you for the payments made when your solar was not working or running. Guess what, we jumped through all their hoops providing them what they needed, and they still have not reimbursed us. This company is beyond horrible. All we are asking is that they live up to what they sold us. I still have the handwritten paper by Chance who was our sales rep (he hasn't answered our phone call since he got us to 'sign up" in January of 2022) showing what they sold us. They just continue to avoid our call and not finish the job. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. It may be time we get a lawyer involved just to get them to finish the job. Started this process in January, as of December it is still not completed. We cannot get people on the phone, the left hand does not talk to the right hand. They tried to do our electrical out of code. We have failed two inspections and they made the side of our house look horrible. The house isn't even four years old and now we are having trouble with our electrical which started happening AFTER they installed our new electrical box. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Solar installed in TX

Where to start?! System was sold to us in early 2021, finally came online end of Oct 21. Since then it has gone offline several times, can’t get ahold of anyone. We were told our electricity bill will be 0, in reality we are dependent on the grid 60% and up. We don’t break even between paying the light bill and loan on the panels. When calling the number, they have technical difficulties. The San Antonio office is closed it seems. It definitely is not a reputable company. The sales people who sold it to us are no longer working for the company, they either knew they were lying to us or were totally incompetent in doing the calculations. I looked back at our power usage before the solar panels and weirdly enough the usage is way up from before we had the panels and our reported usage is a lot above the average of the same size home in the area. It is a ripoff. Would not recommend them to anyone. Not sure at this point whether they still are in business

They lie and don't care about customers

System they installed not working. Had to give a deposit to schedule a technician. Never called as promised to schedule. Service manager was sent a message and I was told to expect a call. No call came in time as represented. I'm losing money every day and they don't care! Not happy previous home owner hired Erus for solar installation. Very pissed off in Oro Valley!

STATUS - CURRENTLY DISAPPOINTED

Agreement signed in May 2023, and panels installed, however wiring for the meter install still has not been approved by TEP and has not been installed properly. This is now mid September 2023 and system not up and running. Disappointed with ERUS in that they started a job, however as of this date, has not completed the job. Solar panels may look great on a house, and may be producing power, but if it's not connected, it's not working. I have been in contact with my current Project Manager and it appears the salesperson that talked us into ERUS Energy has moved on as well as the initial Project Manager. I will do another review in six months to let you know how well this company actually is.

Stay Away. Far Away

Stay away from their heavy pressure sales. Don't fall for it and shop around. I was excited to get solar but ever since Oct 2022 this has been a nightmare. They were quick to do a fast ship and install then everything stalled from there. Fast forward to April 2023 and after 3 failed inspections, a total reinstallation of all the ground electrical components, power pole redo and a new meter that has doubled my normal usage I still do not have solar capabilities. I'm not confident that system is sized properly. Not confident in the install. Stay away. Far away. Don't even consider them. Eff this place.

Find a more reliable and competent solar company

The timeframe Erus energy gave us was 8 to 10 weeks. It took them almos 6 months to complete our project. Communication between departments was atrocious and every time I spoke to someone I had to repeat myself over and over. No one knew what was going on with our project. The workers they sent were either incompetent or not well trained. Sometimes they showed up when they were supposed to and many times they did not show up at all. The electrician they sent to hook up our solar panels did not do it correctly and consequently, we failed our SRP inspection. When they installed the solar panels, they did it in the heat of the day and damaged our roof tiles. Overall, it was an EXTREMELY frustrating experience. After I complained to the salesman about all the problems with our project, he did agree to compensate us with 2 months worth of our electrical bill. The system seems to be working OK but I certainly would not do business with this company again.

Bad customer service and time line.

We had our first meeting with Erus Energy on January 11, 2022. On May 12, 2022, the install was done of the panels on the roof. APS inspector came on June 9, 2022, and put a green tag on the electric box as being approved. August 4, 2022, we requested an update. Erus Energy said they were waiting for APS to green tag the electric box. We took a picture of the green tag with it's approval date and inqured why the poor communication between APS and Erus Energy. Then they were trying to tell us that not only would we have to pay to have our shed moved but would also need to pay at least $2,500 for an "upgrade". The shed was too close to the electric boxes installed. We told them we would not be moving the shed as it had been there all along and that we were not paying for any upgrade, as nothing had been mentioned at the initial meeting about any upgrade. Every time we would reach out to the contact we were given, we were told we now have a new contact. They finally received the utility modification approval and were ready to start the relocation and MPU process. On November 2, 2022, we received an email stating that we were right around the corner from completion and start up. The final hookup to our solar system was completed on February 24, 2023, one year and a month and a half from start up. The worst part is that we were promised 12 months of no payments from the time the panels went on the roof (5/12). But since we didn't get the final hookup until 2/24/23, we lost out of 9-1/2 months of no electric payments (estimated at least $950. In short, investigate any solar company you may want to do business with but we DO NOT RECOMMEND ERUS ENERGY based on our experience.

Response from Erus Energy (Out of Business)

We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you experienced with your solar installation. We understand your frustrations with the lack of communication and the unexpected additional costs. We take customer feedback seriously and use it to continually strive to improve our customer service and process. We are sorry that the installation took longer than expected, and we regret that you were not able to take advantage of the 12 months of no payments. If there is anything else we can do to help, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your time and feedback.

They Stole Money From My Bank Account

They took $250 from my bank account for a service call they did not complete, and they haven't given it back. I'm in San Antonio, TX, to be clear, but I would steer clear of them because business must be so bad they're resorting to stealing from people just to make quotas.

Total Scam!

The sales person proposed a solar system that he claimed would cover the energy needs of my home. After talking to SRP, they told me exactly what my annual usage was in KW and the system Erus designed was less than 1/2 of that. It would not even produce enough energy to run the electrical needs of my home in the winder. So, I cancelled the project. Apparently I didn't do this within the 3 days allowed for cancellation so I now have a $4000 invoice that I owe them for not doing anything. This company is very shady, should not be trusted and I'd suggest not even talking to them.

Search around before getting Solar Panels installed

Erus energy destroyed two fuses and a transformer when turning off and on my power, including a ceiling fan. The repairman from Erus took two weeks just to figure out what was wrong with my ceiling fan telling me constantly “I don’t know.” Soon after I notice that my A/C is having issues. The repairman did not even look at the HVAC system when I first mentioned the issues to him and said to me that he even is having HVAC issues himself and doesn’t know what’s wrong with it. Yet he told his company confidently that they were not responsible for the damages. Erus energy told me that it wasn’t physically possible for the power surge that they created to cause damage to my HVAC. Yet, one can simply google it and there are several articles that will state otherwise. Not to mention the written statements by those that repaired my HVAC stating that that was what caused the issues. It has been about 3 months since of calling and waiting. After three months Erus Energy agreed to pay me half of what I had to pay to get my HVAC repaired “just to be nice” BUT only if I sign away liability. I have just been constantly insulted the entire time. Not to mention that they decided to attach their box RIGHT NEXT TO A WINDOW…It looks awful and it will be harder to sell my home like this one day. I have told Erus Energy that, to be fair, if they pay me the $900 that they owe me for getting my HVAC repaired And move the box, then I will take off this negative review and call it a day.

Don't do it!! RUN!! It's a total scam

I wish I would have read all of these reviews before I was defrauded into entering into $40k loan for a bunch of paperweights on my roof. First of all the install process was an absolute nightmare and after several delays they told me they were out of stock and then I had further delays. Josh Wasielczyk was unprofessional and rude when I tried to cancel my loan contract b/c they weren't going to be able to get my panels installed by Dec 31 which would have impacted this "amazing tax credit" I was promised. I was threatened with a huge cancelation fee. Then weird all of the sudden the find more panels! If there's anything I wish I could do now it's just take the hit on the cancelation fee because now that the panels are finally installed and I've received my first bill and on the proposal they provided me when I decided if I was going to purchase the system was $13. What was my ACTUAL bill you ask? $146. So now my total bill for this month is almost $100 per month than what I was paying when I didn't have solar. DON'T DO IT!! I beg you. Save yourself. I wish I would have, now I'm TRAPPED in a HUGE loan for the next 25 years and wishing I had never met anybody from Erus Energy

Better hope nothing goes wrong

The system worked beautifully - until it didn't. Things break down, you expect that. Just hope it's never in the summer like what happened to me. The installer won't touch it because it's an Erus system... odd. So you have to call Erus direct. But what you DON'T expect is for it to take over 2 weeks to get in contact with the main customer service unit - it's actually only one person, Alex - to get on the list to get a service call scheduled. Only to have that person talk to you for less than 5 minutes and say that someone in customer scheduling will call you back.... wait... what?? It took me two weeks to get you to answer your phone!! The scheduler, Monica, called three days later, only to tell me that it was over two weeks before she could get someone out to my house. She was at least really nice an apologetic. The service person came on time and was extremely polite and seemed like he knew what he was doing. He told me that I had to get a new inverter. Ok. So he orders it and says it will be a week or two and they will call to schedule the replacement installation. It's been two weeks, haven't heard a thing. So I called in and got someone who was nice enough, but didn't know what was happening so she put me on hold and called Monica - who then told her it was going to be at least three weeks. They will call me as soon as they can schedule my service call. So basically I started calling APS in June because I realized there was an issue with no solar input reflected on my last couple bills then the installer then all the various departments of Erus. I've been without my solar system for May - August 18 (today). Add three more weeks and it's Mid September. This is totally unacceptable and I will never have good feelings about this company again. If you expect prompt attention and resolution when there is an issue DO NOT GO WITH ERUS.

Jody, <br /><br />We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed in your experience with the service team. Our service team works very hard to respond to requests as quickly as possible and schedule as soon as we have an availability. Unfortunately, because your issue falls under a manufacturer warranty claim, we must submit that claim to SolarEdge and wait for them to provide us with the warrantied replacement. At this time, the claim has been submitted and the team is waiting for the replacement part that is covered under the SolarEdge manufacturer warranty. There is a lot of people in the company that have no idea what they do in the solar industry. Great salesman , great presentation poor follow up in the execution of the work . Be careful.

Erus Energy and Empyrean are the absolute worst company ever

4 months ago, this company installed the solar panels in the wrong area of my home, defaced the wall entering my home by placing the electrical unit in the wrong area "just to save on cost of upgrade" and has yet to fix any of this mess. I will never recommend this company to anyone ever. They are unprofessional and will not fix the wrongs they have done. Don't ever sign a contract with this business. They allow you 3 DAYS to cancel the contract without penalty. Then 30 days only if you pay them 1,750 plus extra expenses and all of this without even having the panels installed is what has happened to me. And on top of all of this, the Loan place that financed the panels want their money for a service I have yet to receive, "its all in the contract". Erus and Empyrean are the absolute worst solar companies to work with. Don't hire them or even listen to their presentation, they lie. I would rate them at 0 stars, but the site won't let me do that, so I had to rate them a 1.

DO NOT GO WITH THEM RUN...

I live in El Paso TX, and today is July 26, 2019, my system was installed and running by the end of April (44 panels a big system). Since that time the main breaker (250 amp) has tripped 5 times June 10 and 26 and again today July 15, 20, and 21, and takes at least 30 minutes to cool down enough to reset. The first time I just reset the breaker thinking it was just a fluke but when it happened, I called the customer service line and was told I needed to call an electrician at my expense to see why their breaker that they installed was not working properly. I was also told if I wanted them to come out it would cost me $200.00 to fix something, they should have installed correctly the first time. I called an electrician who said that the breaker got too hot because either it had too much of a load (I have a 44 amp system that's a big system) so probably not the issue, or the breaker was faulty, or the heat from the El Paso sun beating down on it directly at 2PM (100-105), or the system was engineered incorrectly so if it happened again call the company and tell them to come look at their system. July 15, 2019 it happened again and I called again and was told that they would contact the local office here in El Paso TX and someone would contact me in 24-48 hours meanwhile it was 102 and I had no AC and all my electricity was off for about 45 minutes. Later that day Benjamin T. the Project Manager from the Phoenix office called and said someone for the install team would be at my home after 1pm the next day July 16, 2019. I waited and no one came. I am a Sr. PM and I would never treat a client like this, just bad business and if I did, I would be looking for a job very soon. July 19, 2019, I called to speak with Ben T. and he was not in so I left a message and never heard back. Both July 20 and 21, 2019 the breaker popped again so I called Mr. Taylor again but he was not available so I left a message again with no return call. However, I called back about 2 hours latter and did finally speak o him and was told he would contact the install team and call me back with a date and time for them to come out. Again, here it is July 26, 2019 and I have not heard from or seen anyone for that company about the issue. If it doesn't get fixed, I will be looking for an attorney to get me out of this BS Contract and have them remove the panels and go back to El Paso Electric. I never had a problem with breakers tripping when they provided my electricity, oh and I still receive a bill from EP Electric each month for $20-$40 dollars so why don't they just kick in when this system shuts down? Read other complaints here before you buy Im starting an ANTI-ERUS campaign in my neighborhood and you should too. Going to put a sign in my yard and around the neighborhood on street corners, parks, etc. that says DO NOT GO WITH ERUS FOR YOUR SOLAR NEEDS THEY DO NOT FOLLOW-UP AFTER INSTALL.
