Overview of EcoSmart Home Services
EcoSmart Home Services believes customers pay our salary. We will do everything we can to earn and keep your business. Energy Efficiency upgrades are much cheaper than adding solar panels to a roof. When you pay your Eversource or UI electric bill you are funding the energy conservation and solar programs in CT via the "Combined Public Benefit Charge" located on the back of your bill. When sizing a solar array it is wise to do things like change incandescent lighting to LED's, electric hot water heaters to heat pump hot water heaters and seal and insulate your home. Electric hot water heaters use about 4,800 kWh per year and a Heat Pump Hot Water Heater only uses 1,255 kWh. The new water heater would save 3,500 kWh of solar(valued at about $11,000)and if you could install it yourself, it would only cost $998 from Home Depot. Once we reduce your consumption as much as we can, we will then come up with custom solar solution for your roof based on your reduced usage from the Energy Efficiency measures recommended. We are authorized solar contractors as well as authorized contractors for both Eversource and United Illuminating in the Home Energy Solutions program and the Home Energy Solutions Income Eligible program. By utilizing the Energy Efficiency programs in CT first and sizing solar afterwards, your solar array might be much more attractive. Please give our office a call or email us for any information. Eco Smart was a great choice
I did lots of research prior to deciding on which company I would use, my top contenders were RGS and Eco Smart. I chose Eco Smart because they have been in business for a long time now, the price was very competitive, and they took care of everything. I did not have to lift a finger other than to sign paperwork. I do have to say, there are lots of emails coming your way prior to the installation (lots of releases and such). However Eco Smart went above and beyond, they included a energy audit on the home in the price of the system (it was basically free), they did the paperwork for the Enerbank and Smart Loan, I did not have to do anything other than give them a call to set those up. RGS required the costumer to fetch their own loans, eco smart set that up for you. My agent Benjamin ahs been and still is there for me when I have questions and concerns, very prompt to reply back via text, email, or call. Benjamin customized my system to my liking. I have a black roof so wanted everything black including the racking system, he delivered. The panels are black on black and the racks are black as well (you cant even see the racks anyways). My system did get pushed back (installation date), was supposed to get the system installed by the end of December 2017, did not get it installed until early February. To their defense New England weather played a part. My system became finally online sometime mid March after having the electric company take their sweet time to come and inspect the work and install the new meter. I received my first electric bill post solar panels being live for March/April and I produced enough to cover the whole month!. Overall, I'm very pleased with Eco Smart. They will do all the work in a timely fashion, get the loan you qualify for (I had no upfront cost on a $20,000 system, just a monthly payment for 10 years), and the quality and professionalism they exhibit is incredible. Great company, happy to be locked in with them for the next 25 years!

Solar panel installation
Everything went as planned. Like that there's the app. so that you can see how much solar energy the panels are generating.
