The honesty and commitment to our project continued during the install, working with our electric provider to help us gain rebates and continues as we learn details from Eastex months after the installation. There is no doubt that we selected the right company, one that continues to help monitor our system for performance, answers questions about the app that reports system details to us, and is glad to see our results of not paying an electric bill since the system went live as we export more power to the grid than we import. Very glad that we found Eastex Solar and a company that we know will support their system - and us!

We have had trouble with our solar panels since the original BAD install 6 years ago. I called Eastex Solar 3 weeks ago and was immediately offered a solution. My 34 panels were removed, repairs to my roof were made and all panels were reinstalled with the proper wiring and installation that my original install are did not do. The process was reasonably priced AND professionally done all very timely and I could not be more pleased.

Eastex Solar did an excellent job on installing our solar panels. They were professional and did the job quickly. They cleaned up after themselves. They were not high pressure at all. Followed up as well.

Installed a 48 panel solar system in 2023 on our barndominium. We had been doing research for the previous year and Eastex Solar had the best and most transparent pricing hands down. Cal and Reece provided professional installation and have since provided excellent service. Since then we have installed 2 batteries. The results have been very impressive our net cost for electricity over these last 3 years has been near zero. We figured the system should pay for itself within six years of installation. Conscientious and Valuable

The team, from Cal, who did the site inspection, to the designers and installers did an excellent job in getting me a well sized system for a better price than I expected. In fact, I got twice the battery capacity of other estimates for a lower bid. It was great. I would highly recommend EasTex Solar.

Great Company!

I spent several months researching solar companies and I will be the first to say there is a ton of misinformation out there. Thank goodness there are people like Cal and his crew. After months of talking to sleazy salesmen, who were only out to maximize their own profits, speaking with Cal was a breath of fresh air. He and his son Reese were down to earth. They weren't trying to "sell" me. They answered my questions honestly, and even made recommendations that made sense. I already had done my research and knew what size system I wanted, but they were able to tweak things to maximize production. His team installed my system a year ago. Once all the permits got approved, they were quick and efficient. My system was done in less than a day, and up and running only a couple days later. Cal and his team handled all the red tape and approvals. One year later, my system has outperformed my expectations and I have saved nearly $1,200 in electricity costs already. With energy prices going up, I'm sure it will pay for itself much faster than I estimated too. If you are considering solar, give Cal and Reese a call. They aren't going to try to upsell you or twist your arm. They will give you good information and let you make an informed decision. i highly recommend them.

Solar from Eastex Solar

In October 2021, my solar was turned on and I started to produce electricity. From the beginning, I was very happy with my decision to get solar installed. With my first bill from Navarro County Electric Coop after the installation, my charge for electricity was $0. My system had produced more power than I consumed even though it had not been operating for the whole billing period. Since then, I have been very satisfied with my solar system. There were two months during the winter when it was cloudy most days and I did not quite produce enough power to have $0 electricity charge but I saved over $100 each of these months. If my system only saves me $100 per month, I will pay for my system in 12 years. The $100 per month is a very conservative estimate since as the days grow longer and days with clouds and rain grow fewer, I will save much more than $100 per month. I was especially pleased when I filed my taxes and got my refund which included almost $6,000 from the solar tax credit. I am very pleased with EasTex Solar and Cal Morton. I would recommend them to anyone considering solar power.

Incredible Job on install, 6-month review

Wow was I impressed with Eastex Solar's quality of work. Reece and Cal are the face of the company. Both made my experience one worth talking about. Reece did the daily correspondence, answering all my questions and concerns. Cal the owner ensured all aspects of the install were done to my satisfaction. Austin (the main electrician) was who I saw most. His attention to detail and professionalism were first rate. We had two separate 12k systems installed on our property (two meters). We went with two Sol-Ark 12k inverters, two Fortress 18.5k batteries and 64 ground mounted REC 370AA Black panels. Each meter had 1 Sol-Ark, 1 Fortress Battery and 32 panels... To date no issues at any level. Our current utility bills are a +17 on the shop and a -20 on the house. Wow last year it was 300 ish. So all thing being equal it cost us - 3 dollars to run our house hold. If your thinking of putting in a Solar system don't wait. Everyday you see sun in the sky, its dollars out of your pocket. Very satisfied customer Wylie Texas.

Pleasant process

When we made some additions to our property with a pool and other outlying structures, we found our electricity bill soaring. We quickly decided to research the solar option as a way to reduce that monthly electric bill. When we saw the tax credit had been extended we got the ball rolling. We chose EasTex Solar because of the personal, "local" service we received with this company. Choosing a business from east Texas was important to us. Cal came out and accessed our needs and gave us some recommendations, but ultimately left the decision up to us without any sales pressure at all. Very easy to talk to. Our panels were installed within the proposed time and we begin producing energy. I love to watch the app on my phone showing me how much energy I'm selling back to the energy company. Our first full month on solar reduced our bill from $288 to $28. What? Yes just $28. We basically have replaced our utility bill with a monthly payment on solar. It's like going from renting to owning. Plus we got the tax credit which was huge but you need to hurry making a decision as the tax credit reduces every year and will eventually go away. Going solar just made so much sense and we are very happy. Not only are we being more environmentally responsible but we are saving money. That's a Win Win in my book.

Installation Overview

I recently had EasTex Solar install 40 panels on the roof of my shop. I had contacted several other solar panel installers, got quotes and spoke to them personally. I found EasTex Solar to be honest, they explained the pros and cons of a system and their price was right where I needed it to be. The installation went flawless and the crew cleaned up before they left. I have had many a bad experience with contractors over the years. It was a pleasure finding one that did what the contract specified. They even put a binder together with all of the forms, agreements and product information. This was completely unexpected but greatly appreciated. I give them 5 out of 5 stars! Thanks Cal and Reece for all of your attention to detail.

AMAZING

Eastex Solar, Reece, and the owner Cal know what they're talking about and doing when it comes to going solar! They gave me a great quote, followed through on what they said, and handled every little detail with professionalism. I researched for over 10 years, and this year I decided to get quotes again because I had heard prices came down again, well it finally made sense. I received 7 quotes, and Eastex solar had the best balance of price, quality, and warranty.

Eastex Solar provided me the best quote, answered all of my presales questions and made the presales process a great experience. After signing the contract, they took care of all the permits, submitted the paperwork for additional the rebate my electric provider and had the system installed and approved in a few weeks. Everything went so good, I recommended them to my parents and their solar system is being installed by Eastex in the coming weeks.

These guys will not sell you more then you need, and were always clear and honest about expectations. Cal Morton and his sons took great interest in our desires, and met them all extremely well. The solar array was permitted and installed in a timely fashion, and all of our questions were answered along the way. For too long, our home was just “Baking” in the hot Texas sun. Now we are not just Baking, but “Making” (electricity, and money!)

Completed project ahead of schedule, lower cost/watt than others

Out of all the companies that put a bid on my property, Cal Morton had the best bid with a system that made the most financial sense for myself and considered all my future needs. Mr. Morton and his wonderful crew (which included his two sons) completed the entire 36-panel solar array with proven REC panels in one day's time. Upon powerup, the system has been producing perfectly even on partly cloudy days. I'm grid-tied back to Oncor with Green Mountain as my retail provider. All interactions have been A+++ I was waiting for my retail electric bill to come in before I made comments. I'm very pleased that is fantastically low, under a price of a 5 pack of gum! Very pleased and happy to be harvesting my own power with EasTex Solar. Thanks alot Cal!

Perfect job in an imperfect world

After considering other contractors, I chose Eastex Solar. Chris Walker lent a helping hand choosing the pieces of the project and seeing it though to completion. Eastex Solar keeps up with the dynamics of solar industry, making the best product available to use. They use good software to set expectation for future production of electricity. They optimize the panels and inverter for the urban site. Federal credit was up to 30% of total cost in 2019, and is reduced to 26% in 2020. There was somewhat of a rush to complete residential projects by The New Year. Eastex Solar pushed to complete, safely, on time, and on budget. I'm lucky to have a home that has an unobstructed roof; half of it is facing South. I'm unlucky in that I have a fairly limited access to a steep roof (45 deg slope). Install crew worked diligently to overcome this difficulty. Chris explained to me that peak production would paradoxically be in March and October due to the way sun traces its way in the sky and due to local weather patterns. He worked with his team and the City and electric company to ensure all paperwork gets approved expeditiously. Supplier, electricians, and mechanical crew delivered in a clean and thoughtful manner. Kudos for all the hard work! Once work was done, Chris Walker helped me to navigate the monitoring apps and websites, demonstrated safety features in person, and ensured that system production met expectations.

They won't sell you more than you need

I was initially interested in 100% offset, but Cal informed me that our COOP doesn't credit forward a negative balance on the electric bill. After looking over my electric bill, he suggested a smaller system to maximize the money saved over the life of the system. It knocked 1/3 of the cost off from what i had requested at first. Great installation, and no questions left unanswered. 10/10

EasTex Solar did a wonderful job on a ground mount 27.9kW system

We have had high electric bills in the summer and were looking to decrease the cost of electric since my usage was going to be increasing. After finally getting several quotes from large national solar companies that were double the cost from what I researched, I called Cal. He was very professional on answering all my questions and informed me on aspects that I didn't know. When Cal and his crew arrived to install the arrays it was obvious that they were top-notch. Not only were they extremely knowledgeable and skilled, they also were fun to have around. I highly recommend Cal at EasTex Solar.

Local Design, Installation, and Support

When I began looking into solar on the internet I was inundated with national companies that promise better design and support along with low cost financing. But the high costs and overly aggressive tactics of these companies soon turned me off to Solar. And rightfully so. After significant research and reference checks, I chose EasTex Solar and couldn't be happier. First, the cost was SIGNIFICANTLY lower. And for a truly customized design to meet my specific needs using equipment sourced from some of the Nations top manufacturers. Don't be fooled into thinking you need a far away broker choosing your solar solution. They will markup the system and sell you a generic solution. Cal uses the best equipment available and detailed knowledge of Texas utilities, weather patterns, and laws to come up with the best system for your specific situation. And then there is the installation and support... EasTex Solar's people were smart, clean, courteous, and installed everything exactly as advertised. They worked with TVEC to coordinate schedules and handled all of the paperwork. I had one small issue several months after installation and with one phone call, my issue was resolved. We all have our own reasons for going Solar but one thing we all expect is a system that delivers a lot of power for the price. Quietly. And without any hassles during or after installation. If that is what you are looking for, EasTex Solar delivers!

Solartastic!

We were referred to Cal by a family member who had a system installed the year before. Because we have plenty of space, and our roof isn't really suited for solar panels, we went with a ground mount system. The crew came out to dug piers and pour concrete the week before installing the panels, and everything went smoothly. That was over 2 years ago, and other than some issues with our transformer early on, that caused the inverter to reboot itself, it's performed as proposed. Cal and his crew were extremely professional, and we've recommended Eastex Solar to our friends, several of which had systems installed and they all had nothing but good things to say. Go Solar!

Schoolhouse solar

Cal and his boys installed our system in August 2015 - 23 x LG260 modules and a SMA 5000w inverter - and it's generated power every day since. The system took less than a day to install, they respected the roof, and left no trace of debris... though we did discover a tool resting against the chimney about a year later! We'll be adding a ground-mounted system in the future, as we're out of roof space, and you can bet we'll be calling Eastex Solar, highly recommend.
