Certasun

Satisfied customer! Communication throughout the entire process was very good and the installation happened significantly earlier than projected. The permitting process with our county was seamless along with the Comed interconnection/netmetering. Build quality appears to be great and the output of the panels meets the expectations.

Professional through and through

I did my research, and Certasun does not disappoint. Very happy with my Sun Power system. Looks great, functioning as promised. No ugly conduit was visible on the roof, everything is in the attic. Electrical panel on the side of the house also looks great. All CertaSun staff were professional: great explanations, answered all my questions, careful with my home inside and out. They work with City of Naperville a lot, so permitting and inspection were no problem. Office staff were responsive and made sure I knew what to expect. Worked with me on an installation date. Reserved 2 days, they had it completed in one. The whole process was smooth quick efficient and best of all has been producing energy saving me money since they flipped the switch. Love the Sun Power app. Easy to see current and past production with graphs. CertaSun also completes rebate and tax credit applications. I felt well cared for throughout the process. Thank you CertaSun, I have recommended you to my friends, too

A pleasure to work with

5 stars for timely communications, being responsive, and keeping me up to date on all changes. This is particularly important given how long the approval process is. Everyone I talked to was informed and helpful. They have great pricing options.

Certasun

Responsible solar panels company. Great followup and responsive feedback from initial permit application to final installation completion. There is sufficient feedback information in each stage of the project. Any request for additional information or clarification is answered within 48 hours. For our system, the entire process took 6 months even it's going thru the winter months. Our solar system is up for running for 2 months now. The energy generated from the solar system is more than enough to supply our electricity demand. Approximately 20% extra is stored in the Grid for future use.

Very responsive and efficient

The CertaSun team were never pushy when my wife and I were going through the decision making process. They were very helpful giving us facts and reworking proposals a number of times. Once we purchased, they had a great app where the entire project was managed out of from a tracking perspective. Communication was still old fashioned by phone and email, which was great for me! The installation crew were very mindful when on our property taking care to not disturb our garden. They got done - very clean job. The inspector and they came a week later, and all was well. I have recommended them to several friends who are now interested after I shows them my month to date savings. We got installed on March 31st, 2023 and should have made this decision years ago.

It was great. Everyone was competent and professional.

Happy with the team, equipment and process, from start to finish. System details / pricing was accurate, system looks good, conduit is hidden, installers didn't leave a mess behind, etc. They handled the State credit, City permits and the HOA approvals, too. Will definitely be recommending CertaSun / SunPower to all the neighbors in our new development.

Great Job

We loved our experience with Certasun and recommend them to anyone considering solar.

High Quality Solar Panels / Good Installation

As an Electrical Engineer, I was focused on getting the highest efficiency solar panels and the cleanest look on the roof. Certasun installation has NO conduits running on the roof. The crew was very efficient on installing the panels. The final installation looks great and performs as specified.

Solar install.

Certasun was excellent from start to finish,Bill really knows his products.the installers were very helpful and friendly and very knowledgeable and respectful. The temperatures on installation day was below freezing and they were very friendly and considerate. The finished product looks great and is working great,.My wife and I are very pleased with the quality of the work .

Good Service & Commitment

Good Service & Commitment; Completed the project as per the plan and info provided.

Powerful and reliable system

Certasun did a fantastic job installing our 12-panel Sunpower system on a challenging roof. The installation looks much better than most others I've seen - close to the roof and no exposed conduit. The system provides more than 90% of our electricity to date (most months Comed bill is $14). Installation inside was very clean with monitoring box mounted where requested. Have had zero issues in past two years - system just works and generates power. Certasun was also very helpful and detailed with the financing and IL rebate process which all came through as expected. Highly recommend!

Great

Everything was done well. Everything was explained. Installation was delayed for multiple reasons (some my fault), but eventually completed in a timely manner. A window was damaged in the process, but Certasun has promised to fix it.

Transparent, professional, not salesy

Certasun was fantatic. They were honest and transparent throughout the whole process. Sales people were not pushy or annoying. The installers were the nicest contractors I've ever had work on my house; and they worked their butts off too. The *only* wrinkle in my experience was that it took several months to actually get the panels. But that seemed to be more of an industry-wide issue, rather than just Certasun's issue. In the end, they gave me slightly higher wattage panels for no extra cost to get my panels installed sooner.

Solar panel installation

Certasun was outstanding to work with. The proposal included reasonable, even conservative, assumptions about system output given area weather conditions. They provided clear, detailed information throughout the process. The installation crew worked efficiently and kept the work site clean. Post-installation follow-up with local electrical inspectors and the utility was smooth and hassle-free for me as the homeowner. I would unreservedly recommend them to others.

Unprofessional and false timelines

This company was awful to deal with. The sales process was fantastic, they break everything down for you and give a nice presentation. When you sign up, you’re given a timeline as to when you can expect installation and activation. I signed up at the beginning of April and my panels weren’t online until mid October. I was advised that installation was going to be in June and they’d be activated no later than July. That wasn’t the case. The operations team doesn’t communicate internally so you’ll get multiple calls from different people asking for the same thing. Additionally, they don’t listen to voicemails or respond to their customers. You may even get an “accidental” email that berates you as a customer and tells you what you can expect. The sales gentleman is completely off from his timeline. Do not get your hopes up on what he says because it’s inaccurate. Lastly, I just put my Christmas lights up in November and found a full can of WD-40 under a panel. Now, had that can pressurized from the sun and exploded, my panels and roof would have been severely damaged. There are other great companies out there and honestly, so far my solar power is quite minimal and almost pointless.

Going Solar with Certasun...

Reputable, Knowledgeable, Professional... this is Certasun!! We interviewed three companies amongst much internet research and speaking with other couple's experiences and choose Certasun for the three keys mentioned above in addition to their affiliation with the solar panel manufacturer SunPower. The deciding factor was their offer including the state dollar credit from day 1 when other companies putting it on the purchaser to 'apply for' the state credit after an 18-month (+/-) performance period to assure the state that solar power production was actually being produced to the levels stated in the proposed work. This was key and said to us that Certasun was placing 'skin in the game' by ensuring this production from the very first day!!

Happy overall with my installation

Certasun was very much upfront starting from the presales process and transparent about every step of the process. Bill Wayne (salesperson) shared me every detail including slight increase in home owners insurance. Installation team did great job as well by showing the plan and discussing the need to change little bit as a result of vent introduced after the plan was prepared. Certasun did a great job from start to finish with our solar system installation. I am really happy I picked Certasun for this project.

Total Quality Service

Certasun provided courteous, informed and professional service throughout the installation process of my solar panel system. Excellent presentation, technical expertise and liaison support. The only "full service" solar company I know of.

The process to install solar panel was smooth.

The install crew finished in one day and cleaned after themselves Certasun did everything necessary from obtaining permits to getting the city approving the installation I am very satisfied

Enjoying Sunny Days Even More

Their estimate came with the best panels and quote. There was a break in their schedule and they fit us in early. Everything was installed professionally. Looks great and when others are telling me that the price of electricity was skyrocketing, I would say there is an alternative.

Happy overall with my installation

My solar panels were installed without problems and in a quality manner. I have already seen significant changes to my electricity bill.

Professional and friendly.

Certasun was very upfront and transparent about every step of the process. There were some delays that really happened because of my local municipality taking pretty long to approve and issue permits. Then ComEd also took their time to approve the project. Certasun staff were there with us every step of the way. My experience so far is that they use the top of the line products and are the top rated installers in our state. I am the type of person that looks up 8 to 10 companies. Certasun beat the competition even price wise. If you are looking for solar panels in the state of Illinois, you should definitely give them a call.
