Bison Roofing & Solar, LLC

I was in the market to purchase a new roof for my mom's house. I chose Bison, mostly because of their reputation, as their price was higher than others, I figured pay more for quality and peace of mind. However, we were duped. Comparing to the other reviews here, we must have just been unlucky with the staff we got. It started with many lies and miscommunications from their salesperson, Michael Ricci. After the delays, we still moved forward but requested not to have to deal with Michael anymore as he just says what sounds good, but not what is true. First let me start off by saying that this is an old house, and we are aware that unexpected situations may occur that lead to more expenses, especially once the tear off of the old roof begins as that's the only way to find out. For example, begin tear off to find rotted wood that needs to be replaced. Totally understandable and we were prepared for that. There's the main roof (sloped) and 2 add-ons, the laundry room and garage, both with flat roofs. Both the garage and laundry room had leaks, the main roof had no leaks, but was old, so figured it would be best to just go with a completely brand new roof instead of repairing the leaking areas. Before the job began, Bison sent Clay Thomas to do an inspection. At least 2 other staff from Bison had also been to the house. No issues. Ready to start, so they said. As soon as they begin tearing off the garage roof, one of the staff walked inside and notice the beams across the ceiling and how they connect to the wall and said the structure is dangerous and they must stop the work. The area in question is very visible, nothing hiding it. So there's NO EXCUSE that this didn't come up during the inspection. They refused to continue working on the garage roof, telling us we need a general contractor and left left the garage roof now more damaged and leaking in more places than before. Absolute negligence on their part. Why? Because they knew this would delay, postpone, or cancel the job. The proceeded with doing the rest of the house. The sloped roof seems fine so far. However the new roof on the laundry room is now leaking worse than it was before. Water got in to the ceiling light and burnt out the electrical line, not just the light. They said they would send an electrician and never did. And they are not honoring the warranty. A brand new roof shouldn't be having leaks the same week the job was "completed." Now, my mom and grandmother are without light in the laundry room since October. I'm very limited on how much I can help as I'm living in Australia. After the back and forth about the garage, they seemed to have just did a rush job on the rest of the house. They left a mess. They broke the gate on the side of the house, along with part of our pavers and concrete dividers in the front yard when they pulled their truck up to the house over the yard instead of using the driveway. These just a few of the minor issues. The main issues are the negligent inspection which lead to an even more damaged garage roof and a new roof on the laundry room that has been leaking since day one. They have horrible communication, even the owner Elie clearly does not care as I've emailed him several times just for him to ignore us. Completely unprofessional. Instead of replying and trying working things out to try to come to a mutually acceptable resolution, they had a lawyer contact us. Our lawyer responded, and guess what. Their lawyer ignored us too, just like Elie. Seems to be the common theme around there. They have no accountability and take no responsibility in their actions, and have no interest in making things right or honoring the warranty. I had no intentions of not paying them. I tried to do something nice for my mother and it has been an absolute nightmare. There were many more issues. I will be posting online more details along w/ pictures soon. If you hire Bison, make sure to avoid Michael Ricci & Clay Thomas. You might have a better experience. But, expect delays and to be ignored once they deem the job as finished.

Terrible customer service from day one, the owner actually cursed me out in an email that accidently got forwarded to me when I was asking for a copy of my contract (which they can't find!), and needed a part replaced. I have been waiting on a simple part to be replaced since June and it is now mid September, this is what it's like to do business with these amateurs. Run away as fast as you can.

The crew showed up worked quietly, neatly and efficiently. The panels look great, the installation is flawless and the Ninjas on the roof were in and out of here before I knew it. Living in South Florida this is actually unheard of. Don't look anywhere else. Bison is THE Solar Panel company you need.

I very happy with my solar panel installation so far. The panels are up and the electrical work is done. Just waiting for the inspections. I have to say how pleased I am with the service. The system was installed sooner than expected and the customer service is great. Every time I have a question or forgot something there is always someone to give me an answer. I never have to wait more than 2 days for a reply. Everyone is so nice too. I have had installs done by some big box stores for jobs half the size of this one and they have never had the customer service or quality of work that Bison Roofing and Solar has.

This company is amazing! Out of the 3 solar companies I met up with this one was the most helpful and professional. They showed me all the benefits I could have, it was great.

True professionals who know what they are doing and who took great care of us. Friends, come see our new PV System and I'll hook-you-up with Adam. You'll be impressed with him and all of Bison's products. The generous tax credit won't last forever. And now back to watching our meter "spin" backward!

I was referred to Bison Roofing and Solar by a friend that had also had solar installed. The rep that came to my house was named Andy. He answered all of our questions and was very patient with us, despite my husband and I asking the same questions over send over again. It was obvious that he was very knowledgeable at his job. This made us not only feel comfortable, but also made us excited for the future. We signed a contract right there. The entire process was explained to us. We have sincreased had a site survey, and had a new hot water heater installed by Scott. We are already seeing a savings on our bill. Every question that we have is answered, and our phone calls are always returned the same day. The owner of the company has called twice as well. The experience I have had with Bison Roofing has been amazing. From my initial meeting with Andy all the way through the process of having my solar installed. I even had a persistent roof leak on an aging roof when I first met with Andy. They were able to work with me to replace my roof with a standing seam metal roof at a great price. I'm a commercial appraiser by trade and it is one of the nicest and cleanest roof jobs I have seen. Anytime I had a question either Andy or Adam were more than willing to take the time to talk with me. You could not ask for better customer service from either of them. If you are looking to have roof work done or install solar on your house I highly recommend using Bison.

Adam has a great team. Andy can be counted on to do everything he says he will do and what the solar system will achieve. Dan and his installation team installed my 38 panel system in 2 days. I would highly recommend anyone considering solar panels to call Bison Roofing and Solar.

From start to finish Adam and Andy were there to explaine everything. It took some time for financing an permitting to go through. Once they had that installation went smoothly with Dan overseeing the project. The 95 panels took several days to install. All went smoothly. We are waiting for FPL to replace the meter and than we will through the switch. I was very satisfied with the install by Bison Roofing and Solar.

I cannot speak highly enough of the extraordinary product and service supplied by Bison. From Andy and Adam, whom I met at a local home show, to the diligent technicians who installed the system, including Dan who supervised the installation and who educated me about solar, all were consummate pros! I have been deriving my energy from the sun for just under a week now, and couldn't be happier. Selling power back to FPL is a good feeling, and reducing my carbon footprint is a real plus. Before our solar panels can go up, we needed a new roof. Andy and his crew did a total 38 square roof--strip off old, install new, and clean up--in record time. And the roof looks great!! The arrived around 6:30 a.m. and were done by 7:00 p.m. Never thought the job could be completed in one day. They were courteous and professional, and I'm looking forward to "Part II" next week!

Andy from Bison Roofing & Solar gave us a quote for an 11KW Tier 1 PV system and the price was great. We decided to move forward and the permits were issued very quickly. Bison Roofing & Solar installed the roof mounts, the rails, the solar panels, the inverter and all the electrical components in record time. The company is very professional and anytime we had a question Andy met us at the job, he is very knowledgable and attentive to the job details. We believe we got an excellent system for a very reasonable price and would recommend Andy anytime.

Great company to do business with,Great installation,the whole process from beginning to end was exceptional,and a plus that Bison is a roofing company as well,who better then to have a roofing company installing panels on your roof,We have a 11.40 KW System and 35 Sun Edison panels that look very nice as well. Bison Solar also gave us a Hybrid Water Heater,Variable Speed pool pump,a Nest thermostat and LED light bulbs for our house.
