When Jacob and Stefano knocked on my door, I was very skeptical about solar panels. I had questions and they were able to address everything and give me a plan that covered my needs. They had my panels installed in just 3 weeks and my electric bill was cut in half with all the savings. We did not have to pay any money to install the system. I am very happy with my system. As someone who was very skeptical from the beginning, I took a big chance to put the panels. Fortunately I can say that it turned out very well and my expectations were not only met, but exceeded! I have already referred my friends and family to Better Earth and I highly suggest everyone else go solar with Better Earth!

Happy Customer
We have had solar for about 5 1/2 months now. In the beginning it seemed like it was taking forever, but once everything cleared we can not be more happy with the service we have received. Thank you Better Earth we really enjoy are solar.

Very professional!
My experience with Better Earth started back in 2022 but at that time I was not ready for the change and cost of taking on solar panels. I was very thrilled when Jacob and Stefano came back to my house 2 years later in January 2024. In the past I would have had to take out a loan to go solar but with the new options they had it made a lot more sense to me. It took a little over a month to get the panels installed. My utility company has denied the solar application but better earth quickly made e adjustments needed to get it approved. They were very flexible with me on the pricing and creating a solution that worked for me. The crew that came to my house was very professional, especially Andy and Jose. They didn’t subcontract any of the work and I could tell the guys knew what they were doing! I’ve heard horror stories about people going solar and not have a good experience but Better Earth was the complete opposite. Every step of the way they kept me informed on what was going on and I could call anytime of the day and get a quick answer. As someone who had been skeptical of solar for the longest time I can proudly say that I will tell everyone they must go solar and definitely with Better Earth!

Quick easy experience
I signed up for solar on my house in Lehigh Acres in December of 2022. I was very skeptical at first but Jacob Safier explained everything well and didn't pressure me. They installed the panels in January and they were turned on in February. My FPL bill dropped from over $200 to only $35 and my solar payment is half that so I'm saving about $100 per month right away. I was very pleases with the Better Earth crew and their professionalism. I am loving my solar and have recommended him to all my neighbors!

Better Earth Solar
Better Earth knocked on my door in the early summer of 2023. We set up a consultation and made the decision to move forward after a few months of research. Our electric bills in the summer were peaking at just under $300 and the solar payment with all my electricity being covered is only $169. We worked with Jacob Safier as our rep and he delivered on everything that was promised. He was very knowledgeable about everything and we were confident that he could answer all our questions. There were a few unexpected bumps in the timeline and as a result we were double billed with solar and our electric company but Jacob made sure we were immediately reimbursed for the solar payment which we really appreciated. Our solar system has been active since January. Our electric bill came in today and it was only $30. Be aware the process can take a few months but the Better Earth team will have your back every step of the way. Very happy with our choice to go solar with Jacob and Better Earth. Would highly recommend to anyone considering.

Unprofessional, False promises and faulty design
Absolute waste of time and most importantly "money". Solar is not generating enough to be at par with consumption leave aside savings. Better earth asked me all the details about consumption and i was told they "DESIGN" the system per usage and my house location. I was told a certain number of panels basis capacity, on the installation day the panels were changed without notice. When i asked why, i was told that it is ultimately the production that matters. i said OK, now when i checked the panel count, they got it incorrect and had installed one less panel to achieve the required energy. Installation team went to my roof again and installed one more, huge lack-of-professionalism. Now when i started to expect the production, after September/October the production started going down. It's Dec 20th and it's 92kWH only for the whole month with 13 panels, each 390W. i am paying electricity bills as well as loan EMI, solar is just useless for me at all. The design itself is faulty as they put the panels close to a tree. I called their support multiple times and every time i am handed with a ticket number along with an assurance that someone will call me back. I am told that production is guaranteed and i will be reimbursed but with this attitude and service-level so far i am concerned about what will be reimbursed and at what rate. if you want to have a clean installation with no back-n-forth issues and good professional service, please avoid Better Earth.

Smooth process
Overall our experience with Better Earth and their sales team(Jacob) was very good. The cost is a bit high in my opinion, but the warranty and increased home value help offset that. The entire process took about 2 months. That included waiting for approval from my HOA. Within a few weeks of activation we had an issue with not being able to see solar production. It took about a week, but they came out and replaced the cellular antenna and then we could see our solar production again. Even though we are now in the winter months with much less hours of daylight, we produced more energy in November than we used so our TECO bill was $20 service fees only. I’m hopeful we’ll end up producing enough extra energy that we even cover the service fee. The big negative about the whole experience is that our insurance company won’t allow us to have solar so we have to switch. And we tried many insurance companies and only Citizens would pick up our policy. Something we wish we had known before signing a solar contract.

Terrible Response Times to Production Issues
Too many issues with Better Earth inverters. Last year we were not producing solar energy for weeks because their inverter failed. Now, no production for over a month. I called Better Earth after about three days of no production, and they said they would get back to me within 48 hours. They never got back to me. After a week of no service, I opened a service request on their portal with no response. I then went online to read all the other complaints about their poor service and found an escalation email address. I emailed them asking for an immediate response and received a call hours later. They said they would send a technician out the following day with a new inverter. The technician arrived yesterday at the agreed upon time. He said that whoever replaced the last inverter, the previous year, crossed wires which caused it to eventually fail. The day after the new install I noticed I was still not getting production. Better Earth promises the best-in-industry customer service, and boasted about their great reviews, which is a big factor in our choosing them. They have fallen way short of their promises and I am not looking forward to the future with them, if they will even be in business with such poor customer service. They claim they will fix any issue in a timely manner, but having no production for over a month is unacceptable.

FLAWLESS EXPERIENCE!!
I’m up and running in less than 3 months!! I went from being a skeptic to a hugely grateful customer. The guys who sold and then managed my solar installation, Jacob and Brian, were off the charts FABULOUS! This company came through for me at every single juncture. When Brian came to my door to talk about installing solar, I cautiously opened the door a few inches (literally!) with a prepared, but courteous, remark to decline. He wasn’t pushy at all. I don’t know what made me hang in a few seconds more over and over, but eventually I went out and sat with him on my porch. My interest was piqued, but I remained cautious and cynical about the anticipated “sell.” My electricity bill was over $300, and I knew more increases were planned. Angry and frustrated with TECO, I was eager to stop being at the mercy of their price hikes! Brian was a good listener and explainer, he had an informative, no-pressure approach. He evaluated my electricity bill for usage and said the condition and orientation of my roof made me a great candidate for solar. Frankly, it sounded kind of like a sales pitch to me (ignorant at the time), but it turned out to be a fully accurate statement. I almost canceled my subsequent meeting scheduled with Brian and his supervisor, Jacob (I didn’t want to waste their time). Selfishly, I decided that getting an estimate and additional education would be to my benefit, so I kept the appointment. Before that meeting, I had looked at the company’s reviews and educated myself on solar to make sure I could now be an informed consumer. I’m definitely someone who does the research on EVERYTHING I buy — from little to significant like solar, so I can make well-informed decisions. These guys answered every cynical and technical question I threw at them including questions relating to some negative reviews I had read that left me reluctant to use them. They acknowledged the reviews directly and clarified why and how things had gone wrong in each case. The problems were primarily out of area (CA) and the company had also made it their priority to correct failures with each respective customer and by implementing new companywide protocols to avoid future recurrence. Their answers reflected comprehensive knowledge on the subject, candid dialogue, a quality-based passion for their product and company, and a clear dedication to customer satisfaction. Bottom line — these guys and the company, itself, care A LOT about the customers’ experience. I was thoroughly convinced that solar was going to be a smart idea for me and was impressed with everything I learned and experienced about the company, BUT I was STILL going to pass until I had a chance to compare the price we had negotiated with their competitors. I told Jacob and Brian directly I was going to wait until I had a basis of comparison on price. Jacob asked a great question: “What if we just google the average price of solar installation and see what it says? You could compare our price to that.” Brilliant! Google showed an average range for solar installation, and the price Jacob had offered me was at the very lowest end of that continuum. Also, it included EVERYTHING I wanted — the top tier solar panels available, 25 yr warranty, guaranteed minimum energy productivity (based on established household use), free servicing, and the number of panels calculated was based on an 120% of my established usage. I went for it!!! I’m SUPER happy I chose Better Earth. Besides Jacob’s patience and generosity in negotiating a price and financial plan that was good for me, these guys made sure the whole process was handled impeccably!! Communication was excellent and the company proved to be a fine-tuned instrument from start to finish. Jacob got things submitted to my HOA quickly and even covered the application fee without my asking. My HOA process hit a glitch, and Jacob was able to point out to them a discrepancy in their online application due date. Because of that, they provided immediate response rather than require a further delay for 30 days. The best word to describe Jacob is “formidable.” He’s a young guy who keeps his eye on the ball at every step, speaks directly and honestly, and clearly relates to his work with personal pride and integrity. Jacob was in communication with me as things unfolded and whenever I called with questions. He works constantly to ensure that things are right for the customer. He even called me back well after business hours on his birthday and once on holiday at the beach. WOW!!! Jacob lived up to his word on EVERYTHING! During the installation, the roofing guys (also fantastic and NOT subs) resolved an installation problem by getting approval from the main office for a design change. Jacob was on-site to make sure installation went properly, and he noticed that the change wouldn’t be aligned with what I had wanted. He interrupted their solution and brought the problem directly to me for discussion. I didn’t like the new plan visually and, along with the roofers, we brainstormed a different solution in keeping with my preferences. It required extra work and time for the roofers, but everyone was wholly agreeable to making the changes I would be happy with. These guys were awesome!!! Installation was completed in 7+ hours. Some of my house stucco had chipped off where the box was installed and the installers did a perfect repair before leaving. They also reviewed my electrical box with me to point out which breaker was new and where they had moved an existing breaker. Jacob called that same evening to ensure everything wrapped up properly as he had left about an hour before the roofers finished the extra work. Jacob told me to expect a call from Better Earth for a county inspection of the job, he reviewed the HOA approval letter with me and told me who to contact to report completion (in accordance with their request), and said that after the county signed off, Better Earth will contact TECO who turn on the connection 1 to 2 weeks after a request is made. Those things went exactly as predicted. Better Earth even sent a guy out the morning the county was coming to inspect to double check that all the work was straight, tight, and perfect. We passed with no problem and TECO even got me activated sooner than expected. I hope anyone reading this who is considering solar will interview this company for consideration. I’ve tried to speak to many of the above-standard nuances to illustrate how exceptional I thought they were. I’m fully confident that Better Earth’s overall competence, their top-quality products, and their priority of customer satisfaction will make them a stress-free choice for any householder ready to wave goodbye to TECO.
