WORST SOLAR COMANY EVER!

I wish I could give them a minus star! Worse customer service I've ever dealt with. Impossible to get someone to call back. Nothing but problems. 8 months to complete installation! ANY other solar company would be a better option than Better Earth!

UNTRUSTWORTHY COMPANY — NEGLIGENT + UNACCOUNTABLE

If you care about your home, do not use Better Earth Solar. They installed solar on our roof in 2022. Within months, our roof began leaking directly from the solar installation area. What followed has been over three years of water damage, mold, failed repairs, and complete refusal to take responsibility. Better Earth attempted multiple “repairs,” each of which either failed or made the damage worse. After one of their failed fixes, we discovered black mold inside our home, forcing us to file an insurance claim and live displaced from multiple rooms for months with our young children. We hired an independent licensed roofer who confirmed: • Improper solar installation • Cracked and displaced roof tiles • Poor workmanship directly caused by Better Earth Despite written proof, Better Earth refused to replace or properly repair the roof, claiming it was “no longer leaking.” It started leaking again in the exact same location on January 1, 2026, saturating insulation, drywall, and carpet. At that point, the damage was undeniable. Since then, we have called daily and received no response. This company will: • Damage your roof • Leave you with mold and major repairs • Refuse accountability • Stop responding when the problem resurfaces There are many solar companies that install systems without putting your home at risk. Better Earth is not one of them. Getting solar through them turned into a far larger, more expensive project than if we had never gone solar at all. Stay away if you don’t want to risk your home.

Bad

Better Earth solar has been a nightmare to deal with since the contract was signed. They put a roof on my house before doing the installation of the solar system. The roof was never finished and was very bad workmanship. They replaced the beam in the garage and nothing is connected properly and appears to be unstable. They put roofing tiles over all of the vents so the attic is virtually unvented and the electric vents were never wired and made to work. The job took considerably longer than it was supposed to. After installing the system it has never worked properly and when trying to contact them and the monitoring company to resolve the issue I was given the runaround. I have called several different times and the issue is still not resolved. It appears to me that after they get your money they don’t care and want nothing to do with you. In my experience I would suggest not using Better Earth for anything.

Terrible communication a year after install

I chose Better Earth through the Energy Sage website. I usually choose the second quote of three which Better Earth was. We had red flags during the install and permit process but they fixed them. However a year later, we have to change our roof which they said looked “good.” Roofing companies suggest they did a shotty install that doesn’t protect the roof. They refused to come on site to look at the current condition, just denied any issues. Now they want me to pay in full for a project they haven’t done yet. I would never hand over thousands of dollars to a company before they start anything.

Worst Company Ever

Worst company I have every dealt with in my life. Signed a contract in mid January of 2025 and they still have not passed inspection. The job was supposed to be done on April 27th, 2025. Nobody at the company is reachable, nobody at the company is competent. They stole my own personal conduit, broke my terracotta roof tiles, and have failed inspection a FIVE TIMES all for the same code violation. This company is so incompetent, they cannot even use a measuring tape properly to measure 36 inches. I would love to hear their response on this platform. I have reached out to their general customer service, spoken to my Project Manager "Ransom", an escalations manager named "Maggie" and "Laura" and their Head of Escalations Martin Murray. None of these people have provided any solution. My recommendation to all people considering this company is to find someone else. This company is unresponsive, incompetent, unethical, and does not take any action to remedy their mistakes. I will update this if something changes.

Solar out...Better Earth not helping

I urge you not get a solar power system from Better Earth!!! I have had my solar panels for a couple of years, but now they are not working....in August...in Arizona...in the middle of excessive heat warnings. And I have been waiting for over 20 days for someone to come out and even look at the system. My electricity bill continues to rise, and Better Earth just replies "someone should contact you in 2 weeks", but it has been 20 days. I have lost all confidence in this company and have no idea when they will fix the system. There are many companies to choose from.....DO NOT CHOOSE BETTER EARTH.

Great experience

Our experience has been great so far. Our rep Jacob S. was very nice, kind and informative. Jacob kept us updated every step of the way and followed up to see how our experience has been. Definitely would recommend.

Severe Roof Damage + Complete Lack of Accountability

Better Earth Solar caused repeated roof leaks and visible structural warping after installing panels on my home. It took over 10 service visits to stop a leak—and now that the roof is visibly bowing, they’ve refused to explain or take any accountability. Their team stopped responding entirely after I asked for supporting documentation. Even the CEO ignored my escalation. Their communication is chaotic, their customer service is nonexistent, and their installation caused real, lasting damage. I’ve hired a structural expert and am pursuing legal action. Avoid this company at all costs.

Not Happy | Cornville, AZ | 07/01/2025

They’re lame at being proactive when a problem arise.

I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. They are so slow to take care of problems and don’t even care to say anything when the system isn’t producing until you realize and say something. They aren’t running a professional business, very lazy and inefficient. Every year at least once the system broke down, not even 4 years old. Lame.

Jacob Safier was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I was informed of exactly what was going to happen and how long the process would take. The field crew finished install a day early and did a fantastic job.

Clear and Concise

Better Earth took their time to cover all the details of the solar panels and how the system would best benefit us. They used thermal detection software to show us how many panels, location and arrangement that would optimize production for our total average electric usage. Its been 5 months since the system was activated and has met or exceeded the kilowatt production promised in the sales presentation. I would recommend using Better Earth for your solar project.

Worst financial decision to choose this company.

1. Hire a lawyer to review your contract it would cost 250 dollars but it would worth every penny. 2. Ask the company to take outthe,Arbitration cluse. No solar company needs that. 3. Read contract fully. 4. Ask for itemized contact, like cost of the panel, batteries if you install. If you didn't ask they will just give you the total amount of loan. Trust me you will need it when you take them to court. 5. Ask to include legal fees. Some times you can end up winning the case and still you might end up paying for attorney fees. 6. Remember it's a big company with lot of lawyers where as you are, regular Joe with 9to5 job who basically cannot afford lawyers fees. 7. Ask for 3 different company for price comparison . One final thing make sure the amount you are paying for the solar company not more than your monthly electrical bill. If you still going with this company GOOD LUCK. You will need it in a year or so after installation.

RUN!

First it took just short of a year from contract to be installed. No feedback from sales or project manager for the delays. Then after install our oven started smoking, went out to shut off the breaker but couldn't find it. After removing the panel cover I find that they moved the oven breaker to install their breaker, but never removed the knockouts fron the panel cover, jamming the breaker. They disconnected the ground wire from the gas main pipe, didn't reinstall. they mistakenly punched numerous holes in our roof and caulked them with silver caulking (brown/green roof. Crushed an attic vent. At the first rain we had 2 leaks which they at least sent someone to fix (as opposed to the other issues). The area they worked in looks like they held a dance, composition roof is destroyed. Wasn't my cheapest bid, but they promised all kinds of "service".... Must have a different defininition than me.

scammed

Boy was I sold on lies. Thought I would no longer have an electric bill: false. Thought solar panels would add value to my home: false. They said the large oak tree in my backyard that hangs above my roof wouldn't interfere with the production: false. Less than two years after installation I had a roof leak from shoddy brackets, and while they were responsive to come out and fix it, they have been impossible to reach since i've been asking for them to uphold the warranty and reimburse me for all of my damages/expenses. They just keep sending me around this "customer service" circle where each person i talk to refers me to someone else and says they will "pass along this information". Totally unacceptable customer service for nobody to give me any answers. They have me feeling completely scammed and regretting ever getting solar in the first place. They don't care about me as a customer at all. They only care about someone until the sale and installation is complete. Looking into selling my house and all I am hearing is that solar panels add ZERO value to homes and people get scared away because home insurance companies won't cover the roofs anymore. I've been advised I have to pay off the loan in order to sell the house and just cut my losses and be done with them. Getting sold on solar by Better Earth was the worst mistake of my life!

Increased PG&E Bills

My first complaint is with Salesman Cooper Murphy. He told me that he would be available to answer any questions. After 3 voicemail calls and 2 emails without any response I gave up. He didn't give me a copy of the contract that I signed. He didn't tell me that the $136.29 payments for the Solar System would increase to $200.40 in November IF I hadn't paid anything towards the principal. I am 88 years old and I was always under the impression that the monthly payment would be applied to the Principal and Interest. NO, these $136.29 payments were ONLY Interest payments, so since none of the $136.29 was applied towards the principal payment, I was being penalized for not making principal payments and therefore my new payments would be $200.40. I was told that IF I could make a principal payment of $8000+ before a certain date my payments would return to $136.29. I live on a fixed retirement + Social Security Income, so how in the hell am I supposed to come up with $8000+ in order to lower my payments back down to $136.29? IF there was some way I could have my Solar System removed I would jump at the chance, because I am Very Unhappy with this whole Solar experience. My PG&E bills before installing Solar Panels was averaging $250 per month. NOW with Solar Panels installed PG&E is averaging $300 per month PLUS the Solar $200.40 installment payment I went from paying $250 per month for electricity to over $500 per month total for electricity. Saving with Solar is a bunch of BS!

Better Earth is hands down the best

I’ve contacted multiple companies in the past and every single one had scheming sales reps. Once I sat down with Christian Ayrer from Better Earth, he thoroughly explained the PPA/Lease program to me and did not pressure me once. He explained the benefits and brought my bill from $345 all the way down to $201 per month every single month. The project manager Tracy is amazing she goes above and beyond for us homeowners. Truly excellent company from the Sales guys, Project Managers, down to the install crews. No sub contractors at all. Would 10/10 recommend Better Earth to anyone looking into solar but hasn’t came across a trustworthy company yet. This is the one!!!

Smoke in Garage after Install; No Panels Facing East

First, we woke to smoke in the subpanel and fire smell throughout our garage the morning after their electricians put a breaker in our sub-panel. Then, they said they said we must pay them $1,000 to have their electricians (that nearly caused a fire last time) install a breaker in a new sub-penal when we chose to switch to a larger one. If we had our own electrician take the five minutes required to do this, then the warranty would be voided on the entire solar system. Any statements they make about caring about their customer are hypocrisy. Second, what kind of reputable solar company places no panels on the unobstructed Southern facing roof? They showed us how the panels would be placed optimally with half on the fully unobstructed South roof and half on the unblocked half of the East roof. They then changed the design and placed all facing East. The roofline begins blocking all the panels just as the sun reaches its multiple hours of peak afternoon sunlight. The monitoring app shows how the production begins to decrease as the bright afternoon sunlight begins.

terrrible

Before Better Earth installed my solar panels my light bill was running about $300 in the summer. After months of anticipation finally we go live. My very first light bill with solar was $600 only to be followed by another $600. Every since we went solar it has been a real nightmare. I had experts come out only to tell me i got the Shaft. They claim I was sold crappy panels at above expensive panel prices. They claimed that this is a common practice in the afro-american community. Grandma always told me anything to good to be true probably is. And Better Earth is just that.

Leaking roof from solar installation

I'd give them zero if possible. I live in a 4 unit condo, it looks like a large house here in San Diego. Last year 2 of the tenants decided we wanted to go with solar, I was one of them. We contacted some companies and decided to go with Better Earth. Better Earth told us that since our roof was old (25+ years) they wouldn't warranty the work if we didn't replace the roof. None of us had any leaks, but we were considering this anyway, so Better Earth suggested a roofing company to work with. We had the roof replaced, no issues, no leaks. About 2 months after that the two of us started our solar projects. Upon completion, the next rain storm we had our 2 units started leaking, the two without solar didn't. We contacted Better Earth, they sent a team out that admitted it was a solar issue for my unit and they thought it was a mix for the other unit. Then the decided to deny that it was their fault and said it was the roofers. So, we contacted the roofers and went back and forth for 2 months, at which point I disputed the charge on my credit card, because the roof continued to leak, the roofers did everything they could, but they couldn't remove panels or it would void warranty. After disputing the charge, magically Better Earth came back, they still denied responsibility, but they worked with roofer, after about 6 back and forths, countless visits, us paying for an independent roof inspection (twice) they agreed it was their fault and let the roofing company handle the fix. Since then it hasn't leaked. In the months this took after disputing the charge they turned off my solar for 2.5 months. After it was resolved their support person said he was going to talk with finance to get a concession and turn the system back on. Now we've had $3,000 in damages, $1,000 in roof inspections, 2.5 months of electric bills because they turned it off and just the utter hassle of dealing with their "chat" only support, unless they want your money, you're dealing with a chatbot..... The concession he came back with $1,000 off, needless to say we said come remove the panels, which they won't do. We expected them to offer a reasonable concession that covered all these costs, the concession should have been $5,000 - $6,000, they offered $1,000. They decided again yesterday to turn of the system.... I would NEVER work with these people again, they're absolutely awful to deal with! And their incompetent, the amount of issues the roofing inspector identified that was a result of their crappy work was absurd. Random punched holes in the roof that weren't filled in, garbage and litter, just terrible professionalism. Omar Zohni

Great service

Better Earth first came by last summer and quoted me for solar panels. After spending multiple months shopping between different installers, we moved forward in December. I stressed to them that I needed to have the system installed before the end of the year but was skeptical that it could be completed in under a month. I signed up on 12/2 and by 12/26, Better Earth has obtained all the permits, HOA approval, and completed the installation of the system. I was told the inspection could take multiple months to occur but they had the inspector out just a week later. Just a month after install, the system is now operating and feeding power back to the grid! I am very satisfied with the constant communication from the Better Earth team. Jacob and Stefano were very accommodating throughout the process prior to the install. They were very flexible on payment and rushed to get all the permits and HOA approval in a timely manner. Ivan the warehouse manager and the local project manager Tracy have also been very helpful accommodating certain requests I had. I would definitely recommend going solar with Better Earth!

Excellent service! (Creole)

Eksperyans mwen ak Better Earth te etonan depi nan kòmansman! Lè Jacob ak Stefano frape nan pòt mwen an, mwen te trè ensèten sou panno sole. Mwen deja refere zanmi m yo ak fanmi m yo bay Better Earth epi mwen trè sijere tout lòt moun yo ale solè ak Better Earth! Translation: My experience with Better Earth has been amazing from the start! When Jacob and Stefano knocked on my door, I was very skeptical about solar panels. I had questions and they were able to address everything and give me a plan that covered my needs. They had my panels installed in just 3 weeks and my electric bill was cut in half with all the savings. We did not have to pay any money to install the system. I am very happy with my system. As someone who was very skeptical from the beginning, I took a big chance to put the panels. Fortunately I can say that it turned out very well and my expectations were not only met, but exceeded! I have already referred my friends and family to Better Earth and I highly suggest everyone else go solar with Better Earth!

Happy Customer

We have had solar for about 5 1/2 months now. In the beginning it seemed like it was taking forever, but once everything cleared we can not be more happy with the service we have received. Thank you Better Earth we really enjoy are solar.

Very professional!

My experience with Better Earth started back in 2022 but at that time I was not ready for the change and cost of taking on solar panels. I was very thrilled when Jacob and Stefano came back to my house 2 years later in January 2024. In the past I would have had to take out a loan to go solar but with the new options they had it made a lot more sense to me. It took a little over a month to get the panels installed. My utility company has denied the solar application but better earth quickly made e adjustments needed to get it approved. They were very flexible with me on the pricing and creating a solution that worked for me. The crew that came to my house was very professional, especially Andy and Jose. They didn’t subcontract any of the work and I could tell the guys knew what they were doing! I’ve heard horror stories about people going solar and not have a good experience but Better Earth was the complete opposite. Every step of the way they kept me informed on what was going on and I could call anytime of the day and get a quick answer. As someone who had been skeptical of solar for the longest time I can proudly say that I will tell everyone they must go solar and definitely with Better Earth!

Quick easy experience

I signed up for solar on my house in Lehigh Acres in December of 2022. I was very skeptical at first but Jacob Safier explained everything well and didn't pressure me. They installed the panels in January and they were turned on in February. My FPL bill dropped from over $200 to only $35 and my solar payment is half that so I'm saving about $100 per month right away. I was very pleases with the Better Earth crew and their professionalism. I am loving my solar and have recommended him to all my neighbors!

Better Earth Solar

Better Earth knocked on my door in the early summer of 2023. We set up a consultation and made the decision to move forward after a few months of research. Our electric bills in the summer were peaking at just under $300 and the solar payment with all my electricity being covered is only $169. We worked with Jacob Safier as our rep and he delivered on everything that was promised. He was very knowledgeable about everything and we were confident that he could answer all our questions. There were a few unexpected bumps in the timeline and as a result we were double billed with solar and our electric company but Jacob made sure we were immediately reimbursed for the solar payment which we really appreciated. Our solar system has been active since January. Our electric bill came in today and it was only $30. Be aware the process can take a few months but the Better Earth team will have your back every step of the way. Very happy with our choice to go solar with Jacob and Better Earth. Would highly recommend to anyone considering.

Better Earth...NOT!

Excellent Salesman, horrible customer service. The solar panels were crooked, the installers left holes in the stucco when they decided to change the location of the wall panel, and they didn't install the black plastic end caps on the mounting bracket rails.....leaving an ugly, unfinished appearance. After over 20 calls, emails and chat messages, they finally straightened the panels, patched the holes (which I had to repaint), BUT REFUSED TO INSTALL THE END CAPS, which claim to be "INCLUDED" in the brochure I was given. When I told them I would buy the 12 end caps from a third party at the whopping price of 85 cents each and install them myself, they told me that by simply pushing in a plastic end cap on to a steel rail would VOID MY WARRANTY. This has left a very bad taste and despite the great job the salesman (Matt) and the follow-up installer (SONNY) and the inspector (WILL) did, I cannot recommend Better Earth Solar to my neighbors and family. Senior management apparently does not understand the importance of CUSTOMER SERVICE. Every project has problems, but it's how you choose to deal with them that separates the good companies from all the rest.

Unprofessional, False promises and faulty design

Absolute waste of time and most importantly "money". Solar is not generating enough to be at par with consumption leave aside savings. Better earth asked me all the details about consumption and i was told they "DESIGN" the system per usage and my house location. I was told a certain number of panels basis capacity, on the installation day the panels were changed without notice. When i asked why, i was told that it is ultimately the production that matters. i said OK, now when i checked the panel count, they got it incorrect and had installed one less panel to achieve the required energy. Installation team went to my roof again and installed one more, huge lack-of-professionalism. Now when i started to expect the production, after September/October the production started going down. It's Dec 20th and it's 92kWH only for the whole month with 13 panels, each 390W. i am paying electricity bills as well as loan EMI, solar is just useless for me at all. The design itself is faulty as they put the panels close to a tree. I called their support multiple times and every time i am handed with a ticket number along with an assurance that someone will call me back. I am told that production is guaranteed and i will be reimbursed but with this attitude and service-level so far i am concerned about what will be reimbursed and at what rate. if you want to have a clean installation with no back-n-forth issues and good professional service, please avoid Better Earth.

Smooth process

Overall our experience with Better Earth and their sales team(Jacob) was very good. The cost is a bit high in my opinion, but the warranty and increased home value help offset that. The entire process took about 2 months. That included waiting for approval from my HOA. Within a few weeks of activation we had an issue with not being able to see solar production. It took about a week, but they came out and replaced the cellular antenna and then we could see our solar production again. Even though we are now in the winter months with much less hours of daylight, we produced more energy in November than we used so our TECO bill was $20 service fees only. I’m hopeful we’ll end up producing enough extra energy that we even cover the service fee. The big negative about the whole experience is that our insurance company won’t allow us to have solar so we have to switch. And we tried many insurance companies and only Citizens would pick up our policy. Something we wish we had known before signing a solar contract.

DAlbi | Thousand Oaks, CA | 12/01/2023

Terrible Response Times to Production Issues

Too many issues with Better Earth inverters. Last year we were not producing solar energy for weeks because their inverter failed. Now, no production for over a month. I called Better Earth after about three days of no production, and they said they would get back to me within 48 hours. They never got back to me. After a week of no service, I opened a service request on their portal with no response. I then went online to read all the other complaints about their poor service and found an escalation email address. I emailed them asking for an immediate response and received a call hours later. They said they would send a technician out the following day with a new inverter. The technician arrived yesterday at the agreed upon time. He said that whoever replaced the last inverter, the previous year, crossed wires which caused it to eventually fail. The day after the new install I noticed I was still not getting production. Better Earth promises the best-in-industry customer service, and boasted about their great reviews, which is a big factor in our choosing them. They have fallen way short of their promises and I am not looking forward to the future with them, if they will even be in business with such poor customer service. They claim they will fix any issue in a timely manner, but having no production for over a month is unacceptable.

FLAWLESS EXPERIENCE!!

I’m up and running in less than 3 months!! I went from being a skeptic to a hugely grateful customer. The guys who sold and then managed my solar installation, Jacob and Brian, were off the charts FABULOUS! This company came through for me at every single juncture. When Brian came to my door to talk about installing solar, I cautiously opened the door a few inches (literally!) with a prepared, but courteous, remark to decline. He wasn’t pushy at all. I don’t know what made me hang in a few seconds more over and over, but eventually I went out and sat with him on my porch. My interest was piqued, but I remained cautious and cynical about the anticipated “sell.” My electricity bill was over $300, and I knew more increases were planned. Angry and frustrated with TECO, I was eager to stop being at the mercy of their price hikes! Brian was a good listener and explainer, he had an informative, no-pressure approach. He evaluated my electricity bill for usage and said the condition and orientation of my roof made me a great candidate for solar. Frankly, it sounded kind of like a sales pitch to me (ignorant at the time), but it turned out to be a fully accurate statement. I almost canceled my subsequent meeting scheduled with Brian and his supervisor, Jacob (I didn’t want to waste their time). Selfishly, I decided that getting an estimate and additional education would be to my benefit, so I kept the appointment. Before that meeting, I had looked at the company’s reviews and educated myself on solar to make sure I could now be an informed consumer. I’m definitely someone who does the research on EVERYTHING I buy — from little to significant like solar, so I can make well-informed decisions. These guys answered every cynical and technical question I threw at them including questions relating to some negative reviews I had read that left me reluctant to use them. They acknowledged the reviews directly and clarified why and how things had gone wrong in each case. The problems were primarily out of area (CA) and the company had also made it their priority to correct failures with each respective customer and by implementing new companywide protocols to avoid future recurrence. Their answers reflected comprehensive knowledge on the subject, candid dialogue, a quality-based passion for their product and company, and a clear dedication to customer satisfaction. Bottom line — these guys and the company, itself, care A LOT about the customers’ experience. I was thoroughly convinced that solar was going to be a smart idea for me and was impressed with everything I learned and experienced about the company, BUT I was STILL going to pass until I had a chance to compare the price we had negotiated with their competitors. I told Jacob and Brian directly I was going to wait until I had a basis of comparison on price. Jacob asked a great question: “What if we just google the average price of solar installation and see what it says? You could compare our price to that.” Brilliant! Google showed an average range for solar installation, and the price Jacob had offered me was at the very lowest end of that continuum. Also, it included EVERYTHING I wanted — the top tier solar panels available, 25 yr warranty, guaranteed minimum energy productivity (based on established household use), free servicing, and the number of panels calculated was based on an 120% of my established usage. I went for it!!! I’m SUPER happy I chose Better Earth. Besides Jacob’s patience and generosity in negotiating a price and financial plan that was good for me, these guys made sure the whole process was handled impeccably!! Communication was excellent and the company proved to be a fine-tuned instrument from start to finish. Jacob got things submitted to my HOA quickly and even covered the application fee without my asking. My HOA process hit a glitch, and Jacob was able to point out to them a discrepancy in their online application due date. Because of that, they provided immediate response rather than require a further delay for 30 days. The best word to describe Jacob is “formidable.” He’s a young guy who keeps his eye on the ball at every step, speaks directly and honestly, and clearly relates to his work with personal pride and integrity. Jacob was in communication with me as things unfolded and whenever I called with questions. He works constantly to ensure that things are right for the customer. He even called me back well after business hours on his birthday and once on holiday at the beach. WOW!!! Jacob lived up to his word on EVERYTHING! During the installation, the roofing guys (also fantastic and NOT subs) resolved an installation problem by getting approval from the main office for a design change. Jacob was on-site to make sure installation went properly, and he noticed that the change wouldn’t be aligned with what I had wanted. He interrupted their solution and brought the problem directly to me for discussion. I didn’t like the new plan visually and, along with the roofers, we brainstormed a different solution in keeping with my preferences. It required extra work and time for the roofers, but everyone was wholly agreeable to making the changes I would be happy with. These guys were awesome!!! Installation was completed in 7+ hours. Some of my house stucco had chipped off where the box was installed and the installers did a perfect repair before leaving. They also reviewed my electrical box with me to point out which breaker was new and where they had moved an existing breaker. Jacob called that same evening to ensure everything wrapped up properly as he had left about an hour before the roofers finished the extra work. Jacob told me to expect a call from Better Earth for a county inspection of the job, he reviewed the HOA approval letter with me and told me who to contact to report completion (in accordance with their request), and said that after the county signed off, Better Earth will contact TECO who turn on the connection 1 to 2 weeks after a request is made. Those things went exactly as predicted. Better Earth even sent a guy out the morning the county was coming to inspect to double check that all the work was straight, tight, and perfect. We passed with no problem and TECO even got me activated sooner than expected. I hope anyone reading this who is considering solar will interview this company for consideration. I’ve tried to speak to many of the above-standard nuances to illustrate how exceptional I thought they were. I’m fully confident that Better Earth’s overall competence, their top-quality products, and their priority of customer satisfaction will make them a stress-free choice for any householder ready to wave goodbye to TECO.

nightmare

I hate to be forced to have to leave a negative review for any company. Although after 90 days and being told they would make it right I am forced to share my negative experience with everyone. First I was promised that even though they subcontract the roofing jobs they would stand by it. Total lie beacause after the roofers punched holes in my ceiling with nails and leaving trash and nails all over my yard. The roofers tried to make it good by grinding the nails and patching and painting my ceiling. Sadly they painted all over my fixtures and made a mess of my house. Not to mention that the inside of my house was covered in dust. Better Earth said well that's your issue with the roofers. The sales man showed me only their internal reviews I trusted him and never looked at better busines burea until I had problems. Better business burea had over 23 1 star reviews that were very similiar to my experience. Only after I pointed it out to them did they start answering them all within a couple of days. My sales man was Christopher Bless I was hesitant to sugn up because I didn't want to deal with subcontrators he gauranteed me that the only company I would ever deal with was Better Earth Solar. I was assigned Nick and Martin when I stared having problems with their company. They are both liars and the owner of the company CEO Zain Jan he's on linkidin they are not responsive nor do they care please feel free to message him CEO Zain Jan on linkedin if their company has wronged you. I am filing a lawsuit against them and have 36 other unsatisfied customers and am looking to file a class action suite. This won't be their frist one look online in Florida they had multiple people installed and no solar connection for anywhere from 4 to 8 months.

More than 13 months from signed date- Still awaiting!!!

one star is way more than generous. It has been 13 MOHTHS now since I have signed the contract with Better Earth and the solar panels are still not up and running. In August 2023 they assigned a specialist (Nick B.) to my project. I thought things might be a little bit better since they are admitting that they did drop the ball multiple times and it’s 100% on them. No, this specialist is the same as the rest of the employees at Better Earth! This specialist said he will follow up with me the next morning with answers, he never did! This specialist said he will be reaching out either today or tomorrow, he never did! Now, this specialist said they are requiring them to relocate our main service panel and to also move the batteries over 2”. Till now, nothing is happening. Just lip service after lip service. The bill due every 10th of each month and I’m still waiting for the reimbursement check from last month to come. I have to pay the next bill before I receive the reimbursement check in the mail and when I do it’s the wrong amount! This specialist (Nick B.) he has done absolutely NOTHING!!! He is a DISGRACE as a company specialist!!! WORST communication ever!!! Just endless frustrations after frustration!!! I would strongly advise against using Better Earth!!! They are deceptive, unprofessional, incompetent and unresponsive!!!

Customer failure dot com

Horrible experience from the get go. They installed a system different from what was originally signed in the contract. And after calling that out, Folks do know what they are doing and the only times they try to make contact with you are during the sales process or for the payment. I singed my contract in March and installed in May failed inspections. Getting a hold of anyone that really cares or accountable is next to impossible. You would think getting simple revisions complete post failed inspections would be quick, but sadly not. Escalations is also just lip service.. They take your money and don’t care there after… beware of this company and the folks that run it… We will share our experience with the local news channels so no one else would go through the anxious times and torture.. My neighbors who signed up for cheaper with a local installer a month later passed inspection and are up and running for weeks now

Not responsive to change orders

They don't return calls after they install conduit in an ugly fashion when I request a change order to do it in a more aesthetically pleasing way. Their sales people were great.

Significant Damage to new roof.

Put in new roof a week prior to the installation of solar panels. Installers damaged 200+ tiles under and around panels. Better earth attempted repairs, however, I now have a significantly compromised roof that's falling apart. Several tiles are sliding out of place. Better earth has ignored my attemps at resolving the issue.

Poor customer service

The sales rep first brought along a friend to the initial meeting and wasn't able to articulate what the purpose was for the 2nd person - the 2nd person literally said nothing the whole time. The main rep was responsive to questions for about a week. Then he stopped responding and neglected to answer some of the most basic questions. 0 stars.

Illegal connection of ground to gas line

The gas company rep came out on Friday and nearly blew his top to see that Better Earth Solar attached the ground/electrical line the nearby gas pipes. The fellow was livid. It could easily electrify the gas lines in the house. I called customer service to report the (and my neighbor's house who BES also did) and no one has called me back. (Two days waiting). I've very disappointed. And it looks like the company has "forgotten" about the deal we had for recommending two other residents for their services. $500 dollars for each referral. Now I guess forgotten. We have witnesses.

Morethan 3 months from signed date- Still awaiting!!!

Better Earth Solar Company makes promises that they can't keep. Don't take granted for representative words. Last October-2021 I signed contract only Panel installation they did just a day before the 60days ( FROM THERE NO audit inspection happened. SO YOU CANT USE THE SOLAR). THEY PROMISED WITHIN 6-8 WEEKS EVERYTHING TO BE DONE , BUT ITS BEEN MORETHAN 3 MONTHS I SIGNED CONTRACT NO USE OF IT. HIGHLIGHT IS I STARTED GETTING THE INVOICES FOR THE SOLAR PANELS FOR WHICH I NEVER USED. I understand COVID reasons will delay the progress. but I don't think it will take months !!!. I won't recommend better earth.

Think Again!

A one star is generous. This company has bungled ever promise made for over five months! They promoted a battery, a prompt plan, a first class installation, and failed at every turn. I signed a contract LAST NOVEMBER! Nothing has happened except bad communications and broken promises. Go elsewhere!
