A great investment

We looked long and hard at going solar and decided to go ahead with it two years ago. We are so very glad we did. We are experiencing another year with no electric bills and watching SDGE raise prices annually. Baker Solar was probably the best contractor we have ever dealt with , very professional and sincerely interested in making sure we were getting exactly what we needed and not just trying to make a sale. They still check up on us. Overall both solar and Baker we two of our better decisions.

Solar purchase and installation process

Several years ago I inquired about solar and met with a high pressure salesperson at our home. He was such a total ass that I kicked him out of the house. This time around I invited Baker Electric to come to the house and discuss solar. The salesperson was knowledgeable and professional. To get to the bottom line, I purchased a system to be installed on our roof. The installers were knowledgeable and friendly, completed the project in the agreed upon time frame and cleaned up the job site every day at the end of their work schedule. The system was activated and is preforming above expectations. I highly recommend Baker electric. All I need now are my tax incentives.

Great experience

We are very happy with our Baker experience. Our sales person, Eric Gerza was exceptional. He was prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. He's what sold us on Baker. Their prices are very competitive and I feel we got a great system for a great value. During the permitting process, we were kept up to date with emails for every milestone reached. During the installation, we received emails telling us who would be at our house, when, and included photos of everyone involved, along with their contact info (they actually did this through the entire proces). The installation was done very professionally. The workers showed up when they said they would and did a fantastic job. All the duct work is through the attic so there isn't any conduit on the outside of our house. It was done soooo much better than our neighbors system that was completed by solar city. That was a total hack job if you ask me. The only things that were not 100% was the install was delayed by a week due to a miscommunication between 2 depts at Baker and they also installed an incorrect piece of the inverter. It was easy to swap them out and we had power the entire time so it was no big deal. Our final walk through guy, Paul, was great too. He was very friendly and explained things very well. All in all, I give my experience 4 3/4 stars and would readily recommend Baker to all of my friends and family, and have already done so.

Outstanding customer experience

From the initial sales meeting to the activation of the system we had a great experience. I was continually impressed with the service and, even more, the level of communication. We always knew which stage we were at, whether any changes had to be made, what the implications were, etc. The process went very smoothly with a short delay that was the fault of the city permitting people. Overall very happy and happy with the system since it has been activated. The only real criticism I can come up with is that I wish I was informed how much the system output would vary over the year but with net metering that shouldn't prove to be a problem (we are at the minimum now but haven't been through a whole year to see our annual output).

Glad we chose Baker

We interviewed 5 contractors, ranging from small to large. We learned something from each one, and one of the big selling points is the warranty. Part of the warranty usually comes from the panel manufacturer, but the other part is the installer warranting that their installation is good, that your roof won't leak and that they will be around in 5, 8 or 10 years to fix it if they did something wrong. Baker has been around for over 70 years, and they have a large commercial business, so for us that was a huge selling point. Nearly all contractors are bonded, which would help you to collect money from them during a dispute, but most of the small guys we checked only had a $2500 bond, so how would you collect on that? Baker is large. Their guys are well trained, screened and drug tested, and Baker has all the right insurance. During the 3 day install, they brought a porta potty on site so they didn't have to use our rest room. At the end of each day, I could not see any mess or clutter to indicate that they had even been there. The only proof was on the roof and the side of the garage where the conduit comes down to our panel. They were quick and clean.
