Great Communication

We have just had our panels installed so have not been able to turn them on yet while we wait for BGE. But I can attest to their customer service as being excellent. Phone calls were returned promptly as were emails. Questions were answered in full. All the workmen involved with the installation were polite, considerate of my gardens, and also answered all my questions. They have led us through this process and made sure that there were no other questions on our part. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

5 Months and Very Happy

We had these installed the end of Nov 2017. Have been very impressed so far with the output I get from them. Can't wait to see how they do in the summer. My last BG&E bill was the minimum $8.xx which is the least BG&E can charge. My other monthly BG&E bills have been reduced to about 1/5th of what they were prior to the solar panels going up. My roof does not have a steep pitch, so when we got snow they were covered for a couple of days, so I got no minimal output then. Other than that I love them. American Sentry Solar was very professional with everything, from the sale to the installation.

We have been so impressed with American Sentry Solar. Every step of the process was great! Everyone with whom we dealt at the company was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous and the product is amazing. We are now up and running in time for the peak of solar season and we are already seeing this purchase pay dividends with regard to our electric bill!

Here Comes the Sun and a job well done

The final step is done and the job is complete. The workmanship looks great. Our Solar System has been running since April 24th. Our meter is running backwards! Every step of this process was handled competently by the good people at American Senty Solar. There were a lot of steps to be coordinated but American Sentry did all of it. It made the process quite easy. Lots of follow-up phone calls to make sure BGE showed up at appointed times to do what was required. Our journey started on March 19th with contract signing. We learned a lot about ‘microconverters’ and net meters and panels… great panels...285 watts each (among the best currently available) and extremely durable. On March 29th came panel installation followed the next day with a new breaker panel and system wiring. After installation of required grounding wire came Baltimore County Inspection which passed on April 11th. While awaiting on the scheduled installation by BGE of our new ‘Net’ meter, we received filled out paperwork to apply for Baltimore County Grant and property tax credit… all we had to do was sign and mail! Net meter installed on the 23rd followed by BGE monitoring net meter function then notifing us on the 24th of April that it was ’OK’ to turn on the system and, after 1 initial overcast rainy day… has been running ‘backwards’ ever since. Every step of the way American Sentry Solar was there with pertinent information about what to expect next… and when. This seems to be a well run company with happy employees (yes we were informed by some of the employees that they liked their jobs and one that said it was the best place he’s ever worked.) American Sentry Solar made a believer out of me. If your ‘on the fence’ about Solar, I can tell you that this company does it right, their pricing is competitive, and the system they install is top notch using the newest proven upgraded tech.

Best Contractor I have Ever Worked With

American Sentry Solar was responsive, professional, punctual, and kept me in the loop during the entire process. When I had questions, Gailen would respond and answer my e-mails quickly, with follow up phone calls to ensure that I did not have any questions. Honestly, the entire process was seamless and easy. They value their customer's time. I have worked with quite a few contractors on my home since I purchased it, and American Sentry Solar were by far the best.

Purchased Solar Panels in October 2017

We had a few companies come by and offer a free quote. The first company, not American Solar, was pushing us to get front and back panels on the house and to do a solar lease. We wanted to only do this if it could cover all our electrical usage through the year. They could not guarantee that and what we would be paying them was what we were already paying to BGE plus a little more to cover the difference, it just did not make sense for us so we said no finally. A couple months later, we were in a Home Depot in Aberdeen and a representative from American Solar approached us and offered a quote. A gentleman came to our house and spent approx. 2 hours going over all options. He even showed how we would get so much more production out of rear facing panels on our roof. It was not worth it in his estimation for us to get them on the front when they would only product 25% of what the rear ones would. He was never pushy about anything. He explained the options of renting/leasing/purchasing. After explaining the benefits of purchasing, we then got down to costs. These are better systems than what Solar City offers. I guarantee that. I looked into everything before deciding on getting 1 year same as cash finiancing for our 5.13kW system. We paid it off in 5 months, my wife is a very frugal woman. We have quite impressed where we can see the energy it is producing each day. We also see it in our lower BGE bills. This past month, March.April bill, we used approx. half of what we used last year and it was warmer last year. We are so looking forward to see what our system produces in the spring and summer months since we have only see from last day of October when it was turned on by BGE. A great company to deal with and are trustworthy and honest. We had many questions and all were answered throughout the process while the system was being created until it was installed. These systems also sit more flush with the house and you see very minimal piping where the wires go. Unlike Solar City panels, which are on a couple neighbors homes and it looks just bad cosmetically. Thank you.

If you are looking to get Solar Panels on your house, I highly recommend American Sentry Solar. From the inception of the process everything was laid out simply and was easy to understand. Once the installation process began Galen communicated what would take place in each phase of the installation and kept us informed as to when everything would be completed. Everyone on the installation team were very courteous and explained everything they were doing as they went along and answered and any questions that arose. Once the system was ready to go live, I was contacted by Galen and he walked me through the activation process which was quite simple and explained how to load the MyEnlighten App to my phone to monitor the system. Overall American Sentry Solar provided us with a great product and experience for our Solar Panel install and sale. If you are serious about putting Solar Panels on your home to save money and add to the value of you home, then give American Sentry a call, you wont be disappointed!!!

American Sentry Solar provided my best option for solar electricity. They replaced my main electrical, panel which was outdated and a potential fire hazard. Their installation of the panels was excellent and efficient. They especially paid attention to preserving my exterior architecture (running as much wiring inside my attic as possible) leaving only one cable running down from my soffit to the meter location.

Solar Installation

From start to finish, this was a very smooth process. While my wife and I are not fans of dealing with the sales process associated with this type of thing, American Sentry Solar were a dream to deal with. From sales, to site inspection, to taking care of all the HOA and solar grant paperwork and the install team, not a step of the process was painful. I have had to call Gailan (VP of Production) a few times and he always answers my questions right away. My electric bill is about two thirds less already and that's in the winter. I am anxious to see how the summer goes!! The staff were very professional, patient and customer oriented from start to finish. The app is fun too. I enjoy checking how much energy my panels are producing.

American Sentry Solar was a great company to work with. The installation team showed up on one of the coldest days of the year, and got right to work. They installed 23 panels onto our roof in one day. The installation of the meters was smooth and completed on the same day, as was the connection to our fuse box. The team was professional and courteous. Follow up visits to ensure that the wiring passed code were simple, and the American Solar Sentry representatives showed up early and stayed until the inspections were completed by the local inspectors.

The sales man Jake made me feel confident in our choice with this company. The insulations and getting up and running was a little longer then was stated although the grew was great and very efficient. I still need to get the info for the for the rebates so that I can complete may taxes. I have not received an electric bill yet that indicates the what the panels have produced, but I cant wait to see. I'm hoping to come back with amazing news.

I saw an add touting the virtues of solar. Many households in my neighborhood have added solar panels to their homes. I wanted to see what the fuss was all about, so I called. One of the best calls I've made. I was provided with a one on one interview where all my questions were answered. The installation process was orderly, fast, and clean. My neighbors weren't inconvenienced by the install. The company took the lead coordinating connection with my utility company. They also did most of the work sending the necessary paperwork to the state and local government for the tax benefits. I'm very busy and needed that kind of carte blanche service. It was an overall great experience and yes my electric bill has gone from +$200 to less than $10 in just a few short months. This was doing the winter months. I'm looking forward to a sunny Spring and Summer. If you are interested in going solar you will do yourself a great service by giving America Sentry Solar a call.

Going Solar!

I had thought about the idea of going solar for some time, but never really looked too deeply into it. Then, one morning while listening to my favorite Christian radio station, 95.1 SHINE FM, an ad for American Sentry Solar was aired. The fact that my radio station was promoting them was clearly enough for me to find out what this solar company was all about. I made the call and gave them my contact information; soon after, I was contacted by Conner. He was sure to provide plenty of information to convince me to move forward. We set up an appointment for him to come over and explain the process. By “explain”, I mean a really deep dive! I liked what was presented and was ready to move forward. During the installation, Gailan and his team did an outstanding job! They completed the job in less than a whole day and the follow-up inspection was completed very soon afterward. The entire process was smooth from start to finish. For anyone considering “going solar”, I highly recommend American Sentry Solar!

Solar Panels Installed!

Jake was was very helpful and knowledgeable and made the entire sales process a pleasure. He was able to come up with some very innovative solutions regarding the financing. He was helpful through the entire process. Gailan and his crew did a great job. All 28 panels in 3 different arrays were installed in one day. The follow up with inspectors was amazing, wrapping the whole process up in less than a week. The system had a start up hiccup and the American Sentry Solar crews were here the next day to rectify the issue. The monitoring app is also very informative, which actually told us there was an issue with a couple of the arrays. I would highly recommend American Sentry Solar to anyone interested in going solar!

LOVE IT

My wife had looked into solar panels before and I admit I wasn’t to sure about them because there are several types out there. One is that you lease or buy them. I had folks tell me they were leasing theirs, but when We sat down with our sale person. He was knowledgeable and the thing I loved was that he was so friendly and easy going. I never felt pressured because the process is just like buying a car. After doing the paperwork everything was like a well oiled machine. I got a call for the pre-inspection and he showed up on time. He told me everything the installers would do. In a few weeks the installers showed up and the were professionals and everything was going well until later in the evening the wind picked up and they had to stop. They believe in safety first and I was glad to see men that put safety before the money. They came back the next day and finished up. They left my place just like they found it. The whole team was great and they were could have finished in a day. I recommended this company to another friend and they also got the panels. I got two electrical bills so far and I am like WOW. Thy were less them 50 dollars and my system not all that big. I have 16 panels if I had one more I would pay anything. We are glad we made this investment and the team at American Sentry Solar have been great. Just waiting on the federal and state credits.

Eagerly awaiting the first month's electric bill

Whole process from start to finish was very enjoyable; the company either met or exceeded my expectations across the whole process. They were very informative about the whole process from the beginning and were able to break down each individual part along the way. One of my biggest hurdles as a consumer was the fact that my house runs purely on electricity (no natural gas or other sources), so I had to have a larger system installed than typical. In addition, the roof on the house was very close to the end of it's life; which actually turned out well considering the company can also replace roofs AND I became eligible to receive a tax break on a new roof specifically because it was being replaced so solar panels could be installed! I will say the honesty given to me throughout the whole process was very refreshing, as they were able to outline not only the pros of a solar network but also potential cons and how they limit any negative experiences that could develop with the process. So far I've been keeping track of the net electric usage of the house and it's very good so far!

The panels and install were excellent. The first bill was basically nothing. I'm making a surplus in October, but then no AC or Heat needed this month. Owning the panels will make you more conscious about you conservation of electricity in general. One bad note though is I live in Prince Georges County, MD. There is a property tax rebate. But I got a letter that I CAN'T collect on it till 2027! and is not transferable. That was a $5,000 credit. So that will change the math somewhat of the overall system. That point was not communicated beforehand. I had the expectation of getting that money back next year, not in a decade.

100% Amazing Experience

October 23, 2017 Dear Mr. Tunney, I wanted to let you know what a wonderful experience we had working with American Sentry Solar. From the very first interaction, when we met Jake, until the last when the installation was complete the entire process was easy and uncomplicated. We appreciated that everything was done for us, the permits, inspections, financing, making sure that we have all of the paperwork needed for our taxes, running all of the electrical work and getting BGE to switch out our meter. Outstanding installation of panels on roof. Installers were professional and knowledgeable. Installers and electrician did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. The electrician even used a swivel sweeper to clean below the attic access.
