We chose Sentry Solar as our Solar team as when we met with our Solar Salesman, he was very professional and very informative about their products. He was able to answer all questions we had about the system, the install and the process we were about to go through to add solar to our home.

From locating the company at the Home & Garden show, to in-home explanation and sales (Michael Gonzales) to the installation and final inspection (Jonath, Nick, Cory and others) it was a great experience. Michael did a great job explaining the product and process and ensured all of our questions were answered before we committed to the product. They took care of making sure the appropriate forms were filled out and sent in for our solar rebate and followed up with me quite often on any questions that I had along the way. I appreciated the quick responses from the team. They even informed me of a roofline issue they noticed while they were performing the installation, so I could get that taken care of. I have been looking into finding a power resource that would be available in case my power company had interruptions of service. I live out in the country and my water supply comes from my own water well. I have several farm animals that I must be able to provide water for. I am also concerned about being able to have a supply with water for my home. I discovered American Sentry Solar through an ad on the internet. I received a call from a representative shortly after I requested information about the company. I reviewed their website with a “fine tooth comb” as the say. Checked out references, watched videos, and checked company history etc. I was very impressed with what I found. The sales representative soon was at my home providing with additional information. The cost was very reasonable and doable for my budget. So I said.. Let’s do this. The Crew who came out to install, the crew leader was very polite and professional. I can say I am very impressed with the company on all levels. I received excellent customer service from all I spoke with from the setting the first sales appointment, the sales person, the finance company and the amazing crew who installed my panels. I could not be happier with my dealings with American Sentry Solar. I have recommended several others in looking into this company. Many of whom like myself who have concern about losing power, but have farm animals to care for. And I was amazed at the first power bill.. it was $100 less for that first month. Great Installation Experience

I found American Sentry Solar through an online shopping tool, and after talking with them, they had a rep out to me within a couple of days. The process of explaining the installation, the credits and rebates, the materials used, was very straightforward and simple. After agreeing to the installation, my experience working with the company was excellent. They were upfront, prompt, persistent in maintaining communication, and very professional with the actual installation. They worked with me as necessary to accommodate my schedule and made sure the process was as smooth as possible. Overall a fantastic experience, would 100% use them again.

Very Professional

I wanted to take this opportunity to share what a great experience we had with American Sentry Solar! We were a little skeptical about solar panels at first, even though we knew we were interested, and American Sentry ensured that we were comfortable from the very beginning. The process was very simple, from start to finish, and we always felt like they were available to answer any questions that we had. We also can’t say enough about the competence of the installers. They arrived on time and brought a sizable crew with them to get the job done. They were very friendly and extremely professional during the entire install. Great Company for Solar and Roofing

We chose American Sentry Solar after interviewing a couple of companies, including a 'big name' in the solar business, because they were by far the most professional and because their bid included some roofing work needed for the installation. We were already considering a system with micro inverters which was their recommendation, and we are super happy with our choice. Because we installed 55 panels on a house with a complex roof design our install took several days. I stayed around to watch them work, and was impressed by the skill of the crew who took time to explain every stage of the installation process. American Sentry Solar was very efficient with processing paper work for permits, inspections and arrangin with PEPCO to install a net meter. Our contract was signed mid December, our install started mid January, and we went live mid February. The free lifetime web based monitoring that came with our system provides great insight into how the system operates, and how the south and southwest sections of our array behave during the day. Although its winter, and often cloudy we have generated over 750 kWh in just over two weeks. We expext to be close to net neutral once it warms up, we turn off our heat pumps, and the days get longer.

Best Solar Experience

I looked into several different solar companies but after meeting with the sales person from American Design and Build. I felt comfortable enough to move forward. The process was quick and easy. In addition to the solar panels, I had the roof replaced and electrical panel updated. The work was completed quick and so professional that I had not even noticed the workers had been to my house until I received phone calls letting me know that the work was finish. Over the course of several months, my electrical bill has been reduced from $141 to $50 due to excessive usage from equipment used to make improvements on my house. Pepco currently estimates this months bill to be approximately $47 to $72. Thank you.

Top Quality Installation

One of the best home improvement experiences that I have had. Contract was signed near the end of November and the system was installed, inspected and activated by mid Jan - much faster than I expected and had heard about from others that had gone with the big solar leasing companies. The actual installation ewwas completed in less than a day. I believe this to be a high quality system at a fair price that I expect will provide good output for a long time. I'm very happy with the result.

Solar Made Easy

My husband and I had discussed going solar for the past two years, however, our prior home was not equipped for solar panels. Once we moved, one of our goals was to go solar, if able. We didn't know anything about going solar, i.e. rent or own, roof structure, location, etc. We attempted to contact several companies to gain information and were also given several companies from different individuals who had gone solar. We choose American Sentry Solar ("ASS"), which by the way was not a company that was recommended to us. We met with their representative Jake and felt very comfortable with what we were told. Jake explained the benefits of owning verses renting panels; the benefit of using American Design and Build, LTD; we asked many questions about maintenance and up-keep of the panels; the incentives, which Jake was very knowledgeable of and lots more. ASS was with us every step of the way, answering many questions and concerns through the process up to this day. They were easy to reach via email or phone. Everyone has been so helpful, informative and on schedule. The process can be frightening, like any other large home investments however, ASS helped to sooth all of our anxieties and concerns. thinking long-term

The company's services are not cheap, so there is no obvious bargain here. We hired American Sentry Solar crew nevertheless, and have not been disappointed. There are multiple reasons for this: the company's reputation and standing speaks for itself. Now, the money talk: owning and receiving financial benefits from a residential solar system is a long-term affair that may last decades. If needed, we would like to talk to the same contractor under a long-lasting warranty 'umbrella'. The unprecedented 25-year parts+labor, transferable warranty 'sounds just about right'. Such warranty doesn't (and shouldn't) come cheap. The roof+PV installation was smooth, efficient and quick. Nothing to comment on, besides a sprinkle of 5-star ratings. We gave the only one 4-star rating to the 'Quality of Advice' category. We think there is a room for improvement here. In Maryland the owner of residential PV system may apply for various tax credits and tax breaks. Plus, excessive energy 'credits' can be sold back to the provider(s) in 1MWt chunks. The process requires multiple applications and substantial paperwork. Plus, there are mandatory inspections. Mostly, the paperwork load was carried American Sentry - thank you, folks! WHAT may really help to a customer is a simple table added to the contract. This table can be used as a path-forward guide that clarifies the steps once the installation is completed. E.g.: 1. State inspection: approx. 2-3 weeks after installation; paperwork filed by American Sentry on customer's behalf. 2. PG tax credit: --- time --- ; form to be completed by the customer and ... so on This would eliminate some of the inevitable post-installation email traffic. Overall, good job! No complains, so far. Thank you!

Full coverage of annual electric bill

This is our second installation by American Sentry Solar. Our first installation occurred seven years ago and we have recouped much of the cost of that installation through the grants, tax rebates, and cost savings. Whenever there was an issue with the panels, American Sentry Solar handled it efficiently, sometimes without our being aware that there was an issue thanks to their monitoring of the microinverters. For this installation, we chose a ground mount system of 42 panels. With local government zoning issues, it did take longer than anticipated to get the system installed and connected, but for the first time in 18 years of living here, our January electric bill wasn't ridiculously high. I'm really looking forward to the summer when we are producing more electricity than we are using. And we're not finished with American Sentry Solar yet! When the battery storage makes sense for cost effectiveness, we will be purchasing one or two so that we can be, in all effects, off of the grid. I really appreciate that the company salesman advised that we wait another year for the improvements that are coming in the batteries. Joe Tunney, the owner, is a phenomenal person and businessman.

My solar expeience

I have been looking into solar energy for a few years now. I am have been very energy conscious my whole life. I knew that using solar was going to become more popular, as it has in the past 20 years. I just felt that it was just not within my economic means to really be able to afford it until now. I am very excited to finally be able to say that I am a solar customer where I can maybe begin to educate others more about it as I continue to learn. I had done a lot of research on this so I had a lot of questions when we had our initial visit with the business manager. He did not let me down on being able to answer all of those question plus the new ones that came up during the demonstration. I can say from our initial introduction and throughout the installation, I have been very pleased with each and every person associated with the company. Everyone has been so helpful, knowledgeable, courteous and completely professional throughout the process. They have made the process just as easy as they can in doing all of the permits to paperwork as well as keeping me informed 100% throughout the process. The team that installed the solar panels was also very professional, courteous and made sure to clean up well before they left. We have only had our solar panels installed for less than a month, and in the middle of winter, so I can not truly say how much we will save, but I am excited to see the results over the next year. If you asked me if I would recommend American Sentry Solar for someone considering going solar, I would definitely say yes. I did not have one issue along the process but I can tell you if I did, I have no doubt, that they would have been right there to take care of it as quickly as they could. I know I made the right choice in not only going solar at this time but doing it with this particular company, American Sentry Solar!

Couple months ago( End September 2018), my wife and I have decided to purchase solar panel for our house. After shopping around for couple weeks, we find out about American Sentry Solar through internet. Things went fast after we contact American Sentry Solar. Few days later we had a meeting with the Amazing Jerry Hopp (Marketing Director). He explained thoroughly the process and the benefits of installing solar panels. We signed the contract the same day. Couple weeks later they came and check the house and marked down all we needed in order to achieve the project. The study came out that we needed a new roof and a new electric panel. They took care of that by sending their expert and certified engineer over. After installing the roof and the electrical panel, they proceed with the solar panels. Everything was done before Christmas. The whole project was done with professionalism. Trust they did it like an art work. The panels blend to the roof. You will not tell that something was added to your roof. I will highly recommend American Sentry Solar. Just give them a call or check them online you will not have any regret. We have nothing but good things to say about the team from American Sentry Solar. The gentleman arrived promptly at our installation time, despite overcast skies and delays on the capital beltway. Everyone was very friendly and introduced themselves, they even took the time to greet our dog. Shortly after arriving the team went to work; the electrician expertly installed the electrical components for the new system and the team installing the panels worked efficiently to safely and discreetly mount the housing and solar panels on our roof. After completing installation all of the panels and electrical system were reviewed with me and my wife. Additionally. we were able to view our new solar panel system from the ground and through a skylight in one of our upstairs bedrooms. We were shocked by how quickly the team was able to complete their work and we love our new system. One of the technicians even vacuumed the bedroom that was used to access the roof during installation. Efficient, beautiful, and tidy work. We would recommend American Sentry Solar to everyone!

Quality job

American Sentry first installed new architectural roof shingles, as the roof was 30 years old. The installers did quality work. One week later the solar installers arrived and installed 40 panels. This took less than two days. We did have a call back to replace the monitor. American Sentry handled the issue professionally, and we were up and running since with no problems. What sold us on American Sentry was their ability to provide a great financial package, and the promise to use panels that had unobtrusive borders so that the installation was clean, with no exposed conduit, and not obvious from the street.

Clean Installation

I had my solar panels installed by American Sentry Solar and I was impressed with the work that they did and the look of the completed product. They met all my needs as I was concerned with connections and boxes being shown on my roof. They guaranteed that it would look flawless and it did. When I look at my installation compared to others in my neighborhood, I know I made a great decision.

Very Happy with American Sentry Solar

I have been interested in having solar installed at my home for several years. I have been researching the various ways to have solar installed and contacted a number of solar companies. When I started talking with American Sentry Solar, I was very pleased with their professionalism, attention to details, and the completeness of the process. Larry Sonnenreich scheduled an appointment and we spent several hours discussing Solar technology and the differences as well as advantages and disadvantages of the various technologies. The information Larry provided to me jived with the information I had gathered from my research. Larry explained the process. I am now waiting for PEPCO to switch out the meter, but everything has gone as explained. A person came out to inspect the roof and mentioned that I had some squirrel activity on the roof and suggested installing a squirrel guard around the panel field. I was so glad for the observation because I have had squirrels on my roof and certainly do not want them to eat through the wires causing an expensive repair. The installers did an excellent job of installing the panels, the electrical boxes and connections required. When the county inspector came to inspect the installation, American Sentry Solar sent a person to show the inspector the installation and answer any question the inspector might have. All went quite smoothly. When American Sentry Solar received all of the inspection paperwork, I received the forms to submit to the State of Maryland to get my Solar Energy Grant. PEPCO should be here any day to install the new meter so I can start enjoying my solar savings. I cannot wait! All throughout the process, the American Sentry Solar personnel have been helpful and very professional. The process worked as Larry explained it to me when we first discussed purchasing solar. I am very pleased with American Sentry Solar and have confidence in their attention to the details both now and throughout the lifetime of my solar use.

I had been thinking of going solar for some time. I had had several conversations with other solar companies, but never felt comfortable enough to move the process forward. I don’t recall how I found American Sentry Solar, but, I do know that I am glad that I did. With American Sentry Solar, even from the initial contact, there was an ease, a comfort to move forward. Their sales rep came to my house and we talked. He explained everything and answered all my questions. I thought his presentation was very good. We went through the financing and expectations. And, in the end, I decided to move forward and do business with them. He was even open and available to answer all the additional questions that I had after the initial meeting. The contract was signed and everything basically followed the path just as he explained. Overall Experience

We have just had our system install in August 2018. We have 36 panels ground mount. We were very pleased with our Marketing Director Mr. Ballas. He was very professional and helpful in explaining our whole project from beginning to end. The rest of the team was also very helpful. We are looking forward for the results in the future as we move on to the next phase of this project.

Awesome job

A year and a half ago we had Solar city come to the house and they were terrible, they wanted to split the panels between the house and the garage. I wanted a ground mount, they told me no way. I wanted mono-crystalline panels they said they only had poly-crystalline panels, I wanted micro inverters and they told me they only do one inverter for the entire array. They would only lease the panels to me, and the story goes on. Well, as you can imagine we didn’t have solar city install our solar system. We were fortunate enough to find American sentry solar to come to our house and talk to us, everything that we wanted was standard for them; what a breath of fresh air. After the presentation that the salesman made, we were in. We signed the contract that night and they said they would have everything done and installed ready to run by the middle of August, mind you this was the middle of April. Everything seemed to be on track and things began to happen, the placement of the panels were determined for a ground mount, and before you know it we are hooked up. The last thing that we waited for was B G&E to come out and install the net meter. By the fifteenth of July we were making power with the panels. We are so happy with the panels and we are blessed that we found American Sentry Solar to install our system. Everyone that we have had any contact with from American Sentry Solar has been so nice and extremely professional, and eager to answer any and all of our questions.
