A1A Solar highly professional, great system and process

So our rooftop solar panels from A1A Solar went live ("in production") six days ago. In that time, according to the Solar Edge monitoring app on my iPhone, we've produced 122.6 kWh. That's the equivalent of: * powering 372 light bulbs for one day * planting 4.79 trees * 190 lbs. of CO2 emissions saved All in just six days. Six days near winter, not in summer. One of those days full of rain. While I'm eager to see the monthly costs savings on my utility bill, it's fun to watch the panels generate power from the sun and - regardless of your political and environmental views - clearly do something smart for the environment. My company has a business relationship with A1A Solar. And that's how I first explored doing rooftop solar panels for my home. The install went smooth. The panels installed really quickly once the rails were in place, while our fuse box required a full revamp. And that took a full-day's labor among two workers. When we've needed them, A1A Solar responded extremely quickly, including coming out same day to fix an issue that turned out to be unrelated to their services. They went above and beyond to make us a happy customer. As customers, A1A Solar really impressed us with their team, process and speedy installation. Unlike most companies, A1A Solar's sales and service experience are equally positive. Their installation team was focus and motivated, guiding/educating us along each step of the way. I'm very pleased with our overall experience and highly recommend them.

Completely Satisfied

Being technologically inclined, I will admit to having done a lot of research into solar before deciding to look at who to speak to. A1A has consistently had high reviews, and it's easy to see why now. The sales process was the least enjoyable part of everything, but that was also because I already knew what I wanted, what the technology was, and how most processes would work, and I understood that most people do need to be sold these systems in this manner due to not knowing much, if anything, about solar. I don't fault them for it though. The expectation was 4-6 weeks for permits and HOA approval, but the installation was being finished by the 4th week. I only received a few calls early on to schedule inspections of my home's electrical system to ensure that it can handle everything, then to schedule the installation and subsequent inspection and scheduling for activation of the system. The installation was done in two days. Most take one I was told, but having 52 panels installed is a bit longer of a process than the typical installation. The work crew was kind and didn't mind me asking questions about the equipment or just chatting it up while they were working, and they completely cleaned up at the end of the second day. We had some considerable rain the week after the panels were installed, and I'm happy to say that I saw no indications of leaks anywhere. As of writing this, I've had two full weeks of power generation now, and I'm honestly impressed by the output. Over 14 days, some cloudy, some mostly sunny, we generated 573kWh, and November 20th was our highest output day so far, generating 49.8kWh. I expected far less considering the angle of the sun and the length of the days, but it has me greatly looking forward to what we will be seeing in June. Final word: I'm extremely happy to have gone ahead with the installation. The amount of power it will generate for us should nearly, if not completely, offset the cost of the loan on the system. It's definitely one of the most sound and worthwhile investments you can make on your home. Not only does it raise your home's value (and with Amendment 4 that increased value does not add to your property taxes), but it also partially shades your roof during the hot months and generates a very notable about of value each month. If it is affordable for you, it hardly makes sense to not do this anymore.

Residential Installation by A1A Solar

We met Larkin Wood of A1A Solar at a local trade show and asked that he follow up with us with more detail. Larkin provided straight up information that correlated with the research I had done prior to the purchasing decision. My experience was zero pressure to make a decision until we were ready to move forward. A1A, as promised, managed all aspects of the job including engineering, HOA approvals, permitting, electric authority approval, sourcing materials, installation, and permit closures. Installation timing was as promised. The installers were professional and willing to respond to my many questions. So far the system seems to be performing as designed...its only been operational just over 1 1/2 months. I am told a years worth of history is needed to fully evaluate performance. Would definitely recommend A1A Solar.

We had a pool put in May 2015. Our first electric bill after the pool was $600+. Had 50 panels (2 x 25 banks) installed 2 months later. Next electric bill was $170. If you are on the fence about solar power you need to go for it. The sooner the better. A1A did/does an outstanding job before, during, and after the installation.

Great Product and Service

After reviewing a couple other solar companies, we went with A1A. They were not the cheapest, but seemed to be the best. We felt so comfortable with the people and process. Installation went forward for a couple of days with no problems, other than rain slowing the process. The crew cleaned up each day and worked well with each other and myself. We have 54 panels and after one month, results started to show on my electric (combined water, sewer and electric) bill. Last month, March, my total bill for the three utilities was $4.25 and in February it was $32.40. The only item of concern was being told that I could also receive a 30% credit from the government for replacing my roof since it had to be replaced before the solar panels could be installed. Per IRS, you cannot claim the 30% for the roof, only for the panels. That was $7,000 I expected back in addition to the 30% for the solar, but it was disallowed. A1A and roofing company even provided a letter stating the roof at to be replaced. A1A should have known that the roof allowance is not allowed by the IRS. I highly recommend A1A and their product and remember that you get what you pay for!

Expectations exceeded

I am a picky consumer. I can find fault in the best of companies. We searched high and low and researched all the companies in the area. In the end, we went with A1A. They were not the cheapest, but the best. We felt so comfortable with people and process. On installation day, a small army of installers came and executed like a well oiled machine. I have 55 panels and after one month, I already have credit with the local utility. As a tech guy, the ability for the various folks to answer questions impressed me. I also love the monitoring capabilities that came with the system.

Sunny Side Up!!

After doing extensive research from Solar Laws to reviews on companies that install solar panels for residential homes, We learned that A1A Solar rated #1 in both categories. The salesman was awesome in providing detail information on from how the solar panels worked to the financing breakdown. After the paperwork was finalized, A1A Solar went to work on our roof. We had 22 solar panels installed. The Installers were friendly and very knowledgeable in giving us insight on how the installation process is performed and answered any questioned we had. The salesman and even the accounting department kept in touch with us to make sure everything from the install to the performance of the panels was to our satisfaction. Who could imagine going from a $200-$225 electric bill to ZERO?? We were very glad to have made the decision of choosing A1A to perform the installation. Just from the visual of our installation, many of our neighbors have decided to investigate the benefits of solar panels. So far, 3 more families in our neighborhood had panels installed on their homes by A1A Solar!.Thanks again!

A1A is very professional in the way they do business. I called them up and within 2-hours I received a call from a representative and within 2 days the representative came to our home. He went over our electric usage and what kind of savings we would have in the long run. Approximately 6 weeks after calling A1A our system was inserted. Everything was done within one day. What impressed us the most was when the final inspector came by and he told us what a "great job A1A does and that it isn't an easy job to do." They really know what they are doing. My husband and I are quite satisfied with A1A Solar and would recommend them to anyone. Well worth the investment. Susan & Larry

Very happy with A1A solar. I chose this company after interviewing the other companies in Jacksonville because I felt most confident they would be around for years down the road to honor my warranty. I did have a couple of problems during the install, but A1A took responsibility and fixed all the problems to my satisfaction. Everyone has been a pleasure to deal with and I'm constantly seeing the A1A install truck out and about so I'm confident that this company will be around for years to come.

Very satisfied solar customer

My wife and I will soon be on a fixed income. Our goal was to eliminate one bill from the monthly expenses to free up money to travel when we retire. I estimate about 3-4 years we will meet our goal thanks to A1A Solar. Jim (excellent salesman) sat down at our kitchen table started us on our journey to independence from the local electric company monthly bill. He suggested ways to reduce our monthly demand by changing to a more efficient water heater and converting over to LED lights. Initially, we agreed on 30 panels (8.1 KW) but after he left I looked at our average cost for the last couple of years for electricity and called him back two nights later and purchased the 37 panel (9.9 KW ) system. I am glad we did. I was also surprised to see how much electricity has gone up over the last 5 years. By reducing our demand and buying the larger system, our first month electric bill was -$18.21 WOW, The added benefit is that I am now buffered from the electric bill rate hikes and fuel hikes year after year. The installation was great, the installers were able to answer my questions and help me understand how the whole thing works. The $225.00 per month that I was spending on my electric bill, now goes to pay for my panels. I plan to pay them off early so that I can retire in about 3 years or so. I do not want to make this long because you may get bored with this review. Lets just say that we are very satisfied with the way things have gone so far and only wish the local weather man would tell us if its going to be a "good solar day" or not. The bottom line is I have to pay for electricity regardless, but now the money I spend goes to a system the will by mine in a few years and free from electric bills and rate hikes. If you can go with A1A Solar, you will not regret it.

Nettles Residence - A Robust System

A1A Solar Contracting, Inc. was contracted to provide and install 24 Sun Edison 375 watt solar electric panels, along with 24 Enphase microinverters, 1 8KW Radian inverter and associated load management gear in my residence in late 2014. By December 29, 2014, the system was complete and producing power for my home and pushing back into the local power grid any excess. JEA, the local electrical utility installed a photovoltaic generation system watthour meter to keep track of the energy sold back to the utility and my power consumption from the utility. The system was designed by A1A Solar, in coordination with myself, to incorporate a battery backup supply of power through the 8KW Radian inverter in the event of a power loss from the utility during the night time hours. 8 Trojan L16 AC flooded cell lead acid batteries supply the 48 volt buss for the inverter. Monitoring of the PV array and energy production is provided through a network connected Enphase interface and I can access the system information through the internet. The team at A1A Solar performed an excellent integration of all system components from the initial install to the system wiring to the final check out. They coordinated with both city and utility inspectors to make sure that all electrical safety protocols were followed and the system was code compliant and safe. Before, during the installation, and after the job was complete all my questions were answered in a timely and concise manner. Later, in mid 2015, 12 more Sun Edison panels were added, along with 12 more Enphase microinverters and were integrated into the system flawlessly. Now, the only way I know that my utility company is not online is to either see all my neighbor's houses and streetlights are dark, or, to see a loss of incoming AC power LED illuminated on the Enphase panel. Switching time is so fast that I am unaware that I am self sufficient with regard to electrical power. A1A Solar also made the low interest rate financing available and I got a federal income tax credit to boot! I am very pleased with the job that A1A Solar did and would recommend them very highly. The professionalism was just remarkable.

I love my system! Installation was quick and all of the installers were professional, respectful of my time, and courteous. My only hiccup was with Andy, the scheduler. He forgot that my system was not fully commissioned so that I could monitor the system via web. I made a few phone calls and the issue was resolved in 2 days. Wayne, the salesman, came by after the monitoring issue to ensure everything was working properly and to make sure I was taken care of. Overall, I'm pleased with my system and happy with my decision to use A1A for my solar and water heater purchase! Great job A1A!!

I just love my Solar Paneles

I made a few phone calls with A1A's sales man and in house girls, and make myself 2 days free for inspections, of course make a big pay check to them as well. That is what takes for me to got solar power, now they produce least half of my power needed. Only thing I feel regret is that I should order more panels for my house, however my south side roof only can take up to 18 panels for now. I will order more when there have 350 W to 700 W panes years later.

getting even

Last winter I had $400.00, $500.00 and $600.00 electric bills. That's when I decided for sure to go to solar. I had been thinking about it for several years and talked to neighbors who had and were satisfied with it. I called and Jim Schewd came out and gave me details and options. He was very cooperative and patient while I weighed the expense vs my ability to pay. Everyone I dealt with from A1A Solar were very professional from sales to office to the engineer, web site monitoring people and the poor guys who had to be in my hot attic making the connections and wiring. . I love looking at the inverter and seeing my own power plant at work and I look forward to being more comfortable this winter. I would love to get a battery if and when they become available so I can store my power. The inspection after the installation was very slow and had nothing to do with A1A so there was some delay before being up and running.
