A1A Solar Contracting, Inc

Super job planning and installing our ideal system!

Chris G sized our system and explained everything to us, Sierra B kept us informed and scheduled our install, and the entire install team of Warren D, Tim S, Kareem B, Josh, C and John C all did a superb, professional job planning and installing our solar panel system. Even though our install spanned the Thanksgiving holiday, everything went smoothly and matched our expectations perfectly. The electricians fished the wiring through our attic areas and soffit to make the installation clean and attractive for our HOA. The system was sized just right for our usage history and the panels were positioned optimally for best results. We're on the waiting list now for power walls and can't wait to complete the system to become energy independent and no longer susceptible to local brownouts and power outages.

Solar 8kw install

Great install job by Warren Davis, Josh Clark, John Cory, Bryon Me, Kareem Brown and Carlos R. Fast professional and clean. Emphase and Hanwha Q panels not Hangzhou

Can I give them 6 stars?

A1A’s Tesla battery install team was great. Ben, Bobby, Josh, and Warren are professional, knowledgeable, and very competent. They completed the job in a timely manner and provided a great tutorial on the entire system once complete. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Highly recommended for your solar project.

Solar System Installation

A1A Solar is a fantastic company! Chris Gellentien was our sales rep and was extremely knowledgeable about solar systems and answered all of our questions. The owner of the company Pete Wilking even came to the house and explained parts of the system before we signed the contract. The system the company designed was perfect for our roof. Warren Davis and Josh Clark installed the system in just over one day. They also were very through and walked us through the controls and operation of the system. The installation was very neat and looks great. The cleaned everything up when they were finished with the install like they were never there. It was a real pleasure working with everyone from the A1A team. A quality, professional team from top to bottom and I highly recommend them. Steve Bradshaw

Honest, Reliable, Professional, Courteous and Prompt Service

We researched solar companies for six months and when it came time to choose a contractor, the choice was crystal clear that A1A Solar was the leader across the board. We really did our due diligence on this, contacted numerous references, fact checked their statements/literature, even met with the owner and sales rep multiple times before signing. They handled EVERYTHING from start to finish. Virginia in the office kept us updated on our permitting, HOA/ARB relations, timeline and always returned our calls promptly. The owner of the company was onsite for the install which was completed in record time by the crew who were professional, courteous and left the work area super clean. The solar panel installers, Kareem B, Tim S, and John C worked efficiently, were polite, soft spoken without expletives and took extra care not to disturb any of our beloved plants or landscaping. The electricians who commissioned the interface module and wireless communications, Warren D and Josh C did an outstanding job of running cable/ conduit while taking extra care in placing the metering equipment on the wall in perfect symmetry. They were extremely thorough in explaining everything including how to monitor the system. I cannot explain the satisfaction I felt when I saw our power meter run backwards for the first time! Knowing that we're actually doing something to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and it's effect on our environment also gives us a feeling of pride that's not lost on our two young boys who are just as proud and fascinated with the system as we are. A big THANK YOU to the owner, install crew and everyone else at A1A Solar who helped make this project a wonderful experience and reality. All the best from our family...Chris, Marie, Noah and Aaron

As Expected

After self educating and receiving quotes from several contractors, I decided to work with Pete & his team @ A1A to install a system in my home in Fernandina Beach, FL. The system went online in December 2020 and was pre wired to receive a pair of Tesla Powerwall batteries. The system has been performing as planned and expected generating a moderate surplus back to the power grid. The Powerwalls took a while due to supply constraints but were installed today in a couple of hours. I have been happily watching them charge and am expecting them to be fully charged by end of day. Couldn’t be happier with A1A Solar. Their communications were consistent, they set proper expectations throughout the process and the system is performing exactly as expected.

Professional and Clean Solar Install

A1A dd a great job with planning and installation solar panels for my home. They made sure to understand the goals I had for solar before offering a quote, took the time to review and tweak it along the way. They have a "concierge" approach to the process, taking on the burden of working with the HOA, Power Company and the county to ensure everything is coordinated. Bobby, Warren, Ben and Josh showed up on time and were very professional during the installation. They hid all of the conduits in the attic so the overall appearance of the panels is very clean with no visible wires on the roof. Overall I would very much recommend A1A Solar for their professionalism and quality of their workmanship.

A1A Solar did an incredible & speedy installation at our house!

After researching for a while, we decided to go with A1A Solar. They gave us a wealth of information & kept us up to date throughout the whole process. I was especially impressed with the electricians, Nick & Carlos. Nick was incredibly knowledgeable & answered every single question I had. They did a AMAZING job.

46 Panel system install

Nick, Kareem, Byron, Tim and Carlos did a fantastic job installing and hooking up system in a record time. I would highly recommend. this crew and this company

New Residential Array Install

My wife and I contacted A1A for the installation of a new array on our home. A1A provided service our previous home and were excellent. The installation on our new home was flawless and the entire team was great to work with while the install took place. I would totally recommend Nick, Carlos, Kareem, Tim, Bryon and Josh. They worked very well together and certainly know their business. Installation could not have been smoother and I would highly recommend this team and A1A.

Great Installation

*** Update to a previous review*** So after talking with the owner (Pete). We were able to work out a better communication plan. They started to let me know where I was on the list and I could at least estimate when I would get my batteries. As of of today 1/27/2021 I have my batteries fully installed. And I couldn't be more happy about it. The 2 guys who installed my batteries were great. Both Robert Sligh and Warren Davis did a fantastic job. They were professional and completed the entire install in less than 2 days. After all this, I would say that I would definitely recommend using A1A Solar in the future.

Great Support!

Pietro Ignacio is a wonderful liaison between my solar panels running smoothly and m piece of mind! Being new to solar, I have sent many emails to Pietro with questions and concerns and he has been always supportive and insightful! A1A Solar has been great support and Pietro has been the best!!

Ben Best has always done a great job in my service calls.

Great company.

This is the solar company I have been looking for

I have had solar on a home I just sold and have moved into another home. There are 39 solar panels and a working solar system in place. A1A solar was most helpful in the transfer of ownership and warranty. Pietro was instrumental with this. I was found to have an existing malfunction that was initially looked at late on Friday by Clif. He came by on a Friday evening to assure everything was safe until Monday AM. Both Bobby Sligh and Warren David came by today and replaced a part and got my system back up and running. I am amazed at their promptness, courteousness and professionalism. Their knowledge of their product is superb. Bobby and Warren went through the system with me to assure that as a new owner I was informed about the operational aspect of the system. These folks are the best!

Installation

The Tesla Powerwalls and the heat pump for the pool have not arrived so at this time I will only make comments about the installation of the solar panels. The installation of the solar panels and the wiring was done perfectly. Bobby Sligh, Warren Davis & Bill Best did a GREAT job and were very friendly, efficient and thorough. In fact, it could not have gone any better and we highly recommend the AIA Solar Installation Team. They treated our property like it was their own and that is greatly appreciated.

Great Team!

Really happy with my sales rep Chris and the whole install team (Kareem, Byron, Nick and Carlos). I would recommend them to anyone.

A1A Solar did great for us. We love our system!

My husband and I bought solar from A1A, with two Tesla Powerwall batteries a little over a year ago. We love our system! The process was easy. Our sales guy, Sean, has been communicative and reachable the whole time, and explained everything to us, and we had lots of questions. Pete, the owner of the company, also spoke to us on the phone and answered a few questions. We like the fact that this is a local veteran owned business. Our system only took two days to put in, and the guys who put the panels on the roof were very professional. We got a big tax refund from the IRS because we went solar. Couldn’t be more thrilled!

Professional end Helpful

Nick and Carlos were so helpful, polite and professional. I had many questions about the installation of the solar panels and the electrical boxes. They explained so much to me. After turning off the power to my house they checked the power to make sure all went back to normal. Nick and Carlos were awesome.

wonderful company all around

A1A Solar was so professional from beginning to end. We are so happy with the results. We'd especially like to mention Nick, Carlos and Cliff who communicated with us throughout the process and always followed through. It was a fantastic experience and we are so happy we chose to go the solar route with Tesla power wall.

Finally got what I was expecting from a company

3 Years ago I contracted ECS Solar out of Gainesville to install my new pv system. Not only did they mess up the job, but I had an ongoing lawsuit with them until they successfully skipped town. So now I brought in A1A to fix that mess up and upgrade my system to be the way it should have originally been. I REALLY wish I had just gone with A1A in the first place because these guys got the job done right and in an orderly time.

Positive response to promised results

In 2018 I chose to review estimated costs on installing solar panels on my roof. After receiving several I met with ssles individuals from each. I decided to hire A 1 Solar primarily due to Sean Smith who said don’t hire A 1 Solar because we will not be your cheapest estimate hire us due to the contractors we use yo install the system. He was extremely honest, forthright and immediately available if I needed assistance. I would hire Sean in a heartbeat should I ever need a sales representative in the future

Service Excellence

The post-install customer service is excellent! We had an outage after a nasty summer storm. A1A came out within an hour of our call to help with our 22kw generator (lightning strike). No runaround, no long wait. They were all over it!

Best Idea I Had

I walked by a home in my neighborhood that installed solar panels for about a year. Finally I contacted the neighbor and he told me about A1A Solar. I contact the owner and he put me in touch with Sean Smith in July 2019. The first quote from Sean was the Cadillac quote but we settled on the Buick quote. I thought about it a long time but I do not regret my decision one bit. I signed the quote and the company took care of the rest. Virginia and Shannon in the office are great too. They answered my questions, helped with setting up installation and JEA inspection. I did not buy the batteries when my panels were installed. I have now purchased the Tesla batteries in 2020 and I am 100% self powered. I want to give a shout out to Nick and Carlos too who installed my batteries this past month. They were here when promised and completed the battery work in a timely manner. I would highly recommend A1A Solar for your solar energy needs. My son now is purchasing the solar system for his new home from A1A Solar.

Sunny and Satisfied

I just saw my Facebook Memories of my solar journey come up last week. It has been so exciting to see the sunshine and know that the meter is turning in my favor and not that of the local electric company. Living the GREEN life just makes me happy. Sean T. Smith of A1A came in January 2018 to talk about the possibilities and to get the information about past usage and what appliances and general information of our current needs. He took it to the office and they take a satellite view to see if your place is a good candidate for the solar panels. When I was still deciding, the owner Pete Wilking, invited me out to their central office and warehouse to see the operation and the setup they have and their installation procedures. I was satisfied that this company was indeed A1A, the best. I had a little roofing trouble but service after the sale is what sets this company apart from the rest. They stood by their product and their craftsmanship. The Enlighten App that I have on my phone, iPad and computer give me the ability to see the panels and the solar production frorm hour to hour, days to day or month to month. I wholeheartedly recommend A1A Solar for your solar needs.

We chose wisely

I’m not one to leave reviews for things, for the most part. That said, A1A Solar merits a rave review, mostly because my neighbor went with a different company, and I can now see how lucky we were. A1A was a little bit more expensive than the other companies we got bids from. One thing that impressed us right off the bat was their sales guy, Shawn Smith. He was honest about the system production and explained the tax credit and it never felt like he was trying to SELL us. My neighbor went with another company from out of town, signed the contract without shopping local. My system was installed within two months (we got installed in late 2018). It took eight months before he got installed, and then something malfunctioned. Short story is that they still do not have a functioning system, while mine’s been up and saving me money for a year with no problems. If you’re looking for solar, choose wisely. A1A knows what they are doing.
