I used EnergySage as a first look into Solar power for our home. Of the 3 bids received 8M Solar seemed to have the best price/performance ratio and so I scheduled a sit-down and ultimately went with them for installing a system. From the beginning in-home analysis they seemed to have their act together. They were able to assess the effectiveness of the system by modeling some tall trees, vary the implications of this throughout the year, and even do take random scenarios from me and perform an analysis right there, the level of simulation expertise was quite commendable. The installation itself (47 panels) was all done in a single day with 1 crew installing panels and 1 electrical crew installing the cabling, inverter, and connecting into my existing power panel. Everyone on the job knew well what they were doing, no one seemed to be just there as just “help". Once the system was approved, I turned it on and started monitoring. As I became familiar with the system, the app, and everything working I had some detailed technical and electrical questions. As an electrical engineer myself theses were related to how and why certain aspects of the system were done the way they were. As with all other questions I had during the process, I was in contact with someone within 24 hours, and in this case it was with the professional engineer that designed my system. He was able to answer my specific technical questions and in the end I agreed that the design was logical. The only real area of improvement I could suggest was that they could provide some afterj-installation training on the app and WEB interfaces so the homeowner that wants to look into details would understand how best to do it. An after installation sit-down for 30 minutes or so would be beneficial for the customer I think and provide a good basis for end of the job feedback. But other than that, these folks were top notch and I would highly recommend. One side note here also, one of the 4 potential vendors for this job had actually responded that our house was inadequately situated and had too many trees for use of solar panels and no bid. At about a month using the system I can tell you that averaging yearly monthly usage, the panels are providing this KWh avg monthly level in like 20-25 days (meaning I’m basically selling back to Duke 5-10 day of power every month (again, on average). The moral being, not everyone in this business knows what they are doing… 8M Solar does. In summary, every aspect of my interaction with 8M Solar has been top notch. Installation was clean and fast, system operation is above expectations so far, and the personal interaction is top notch. Make sure you start YOUR investigation with these guys.

Our family is so grateful and happy that we went solar with 8MSolar. Every step on the way was simple, throughout explained, and showing us that the professionals from 8MSolar know what they are doing, from first on-site meeting over installation, meeting timeline, paperless procedure, follow-up calls, customer service as well as after installation care, they treat customers like royals, and stand behind their mission. I got quotes from multiple local companies and was especially impressed by 8MSolar. They were honest, upfront about all costs and did not push on the local Duke rebate too much. From the sales to the installation process, everything was handled smoothly and we are very pleased with the end result. Excellent Solar Install

I am very pleased with 8MSolar as the installer of my 15kW solar panel system. All the way through the process the 8MSolar team was responsive and informative. The electrical crew came and finished in one day, and did a fine job. Seemed very experienced. The installation crew also completed the panel installs in one day, again, very experienced. I spoke at length with both teams and they accommodated all my questions and shared knowledge freely. Very satisfied with both teams. The project management coordinator was excellent. Competent in all areas. Always available. There was never a delay or excuse, when 8MSolar said they would have it done, they did it. In the beginning of the purchase process, I visited the 8MSolar office and spent an hour with the owner discussing the proposal. He showed me all the material they would be using, and we went over some solar power calculations and estimates of power. He is very authentic and I was confident that 8MSolar would do the job well.

Great job!

We had 50 panels installed on our roof last fall. One never knows when you say go if you will regret the decision. Sure everyone has pictures but what about the details that the pictures don't show. How good is their work? Well from the moment we said yes the process was seamless from electronic signatures, constant updates re. the permitting process, to proposed layouts with my input on where I wanted conduit runs to reduce them being seen, to scheduling the actual install. I felt informed the entire way. When the day came for the install I was introduced to the project leaders on site and they explained their roles and how the project would unfold. This is a house I designed and built so I am very anal about how how things should look and work. I was blown away by the attention to making straight conduit runs, their perfectly lining up all the panels, and how well everything was labeled. Both the electrician and install crew were amazing and did great work. Every question I've had has been addressed and I even received a step by step guide for how to submit the Duke energy rebate information complete with what to put in every space. I would not hesitate to use 8M Solar again or recommend them to my friends. This is a first class group of guys and I'm enjoying using the app they provided to watch my savings grow each day.

Best Solar people !!

I was referred to 8msolar by a friend who initially spoke to Usman for group installation. It turned out to be a great experience choosing 8M solar for my project . Usman gave me the best quote around and also explained the proposed system and installation process in detail. Salman addressed all of my questions on design , aesthetics , installation and accommodated some changes in layout of the panel array in roof as well . Installation of system was on time and everything was handled with at-most professionalism by the entire crew . Kudos to Shahzaib for handling all paperwork for permitting , duke interconnection and HOA approval , he also kept me informed with each step of the project as it moved through . I never felt left alone of not knowing what is going on the 3 months it took from start to finish working with 8M solar team . 8MSolar was professional, prompt and on time with every aspect of the project. The permitting, engineering and installation were both completed per my expectations and I am very happy with the end project, 8M even helped me with a step by step instruction list to get the Duke Rebate which I have now received. Solar Experts

I had always wanted solar for my home and looked around the area for reputable installers. After my research, I identified the top 4 companies and I talked with all of them but felt the most comfortable with 8MSolar. They had a no pressure sales presentation, went over my home's layout and shading situation with me and gave me real world expected production numbers. I was kept informed on all permit and application statuses, 8MSolar dealt with all the inspections and truly delivered a turnkey solar experience. I will use 8MSolar when installing solar on my second home as well.

Am very happy with 8MSolar

Their solar system was reasonably priced on top of that, they gave me the best discount for cash. The installation crew was great. They had the system mechanically installed in about three hours with an additional three hours for the electrical connections. The system powered up without a hitch and produced almost 40kwh the first day. The sales and engineering staff were friendly and courteous. They kept in touch every step of the way. The only very small issue is they failed to provide a sign to advertise their system, which may cost them future sales in my area. Would definitely recommend 8M solar for your eco-friendly power source.

Wonderful product from a local company that cares!

We hired 8M Solar based on an excellent recommendation from friends and are so happy we did!! The first thing that impressed us was that a founder of the company, Usman Noor, came to our house to discuss what we wanted to accomplish with solar. It wasn't a random employee who was trained to be a sales person (which was our first experience). He was very polite and intelligent on the matter with an impressive background in solar engineering. The second thing that impressed us was Usman was very patient in answering all of our questions and did not try to over sell us. We had minimal knowledge about solar panels and he explained that we had so much accessible roof that we would be able to get 100% production without using the most expensive types of panels. He could have sold us the more expensive panels but he was interested in giving us our best value. For every stage of the process 8M was on time which made it so much easier for our busy schedule. Mapping out the construction was painless. They had the materials shipped straight to our house and Usman even came out to unpack them and move them into our garage. The installation was efficient and the inspections went smoothly. Even when there was a problem in setting up the WiFi monitoring, they came back immediately and figured out a good fix. We were also VERY impressed with how responsive and available 8M was to us. If we had a question or concern, Usman was always available by phone, text or email. After the install, they continue to be very accessible. When I had a question about 1 mo after the install, Usman answered immediately and even followed up with me later to make sure my issue with Duke was resolved. In summary, 8M Solar was wonderful and we plan to do solar at our vacation house with them. We would certainly recommend them to anyone interested in solar. The system is great, the installation was easy, and a $16 power bill in the hottest part of summer is amazing!

8MSolar installed a rooftop solar array at my house in May this year. I requested quotes from multiple companies, and 8MSolar was by far the most responsive and comprehensive in their response, not to mention the competitive nature of their bid as well. They handled getting the necessary documentation for satisfying the HOA and the utility company, and were quick to make adjustments to the layout based on the feedback. They also took care of some minor issues with the shipping, and the installation went off without any issues. I am satisfied with the production output since the installation. Their after installation service is also great - they promptly responded the only time I had to call for a minor issue with the monitoring app. Overall, I've been very satisfied, and have no hesitations recommending them to others considering a solar install.

I was very impressed by the attention to detail. Usman took the time to show me several installations completed by 8M Solar prior to my signing a contract. The installation was very neat. I am producing power in line with the estimates that 8M furnished.

Great quality and value

8MSolar installed a rooftop solar array at my home 5 months ago, and overall I am very happy with the performance of the system. I obtained multiple quotes from different companies, and ultimately went with 8M due to my confidence in their capability (I checked one of their previous installations) and the good value of the quote (as compared to others). After choosing them for the install, they were able to schedule an installation very quickly. I experienced one issue with them during the installation, as the installers arrived with a different planned panel layout than I had originally agreed to. Apparently, after doing some measurements at the house, the engineers had modified the layout to reduce the effects of shade, but this information had not been communicated to me in advance. Though this caused some problems on the day of the install, they eventually acknowledged the mistake and were good about working with me to remedy the issue. They have since informed me that they have adjusted their procedures to prevent any recurrence. In general, I’d recommend making sure that any provider sees the home in person (not just photos) before issuing a quote, just to make sure there aren’t any surprises later. I was very impressed with the installers themselves and the quality of the installation. All of the materials were of high quality and skillfully installed, and I am quite happy with the end result. I have had no issues with roof leaks or anything else, and the production has been in line with my expectations. I am quite happy with my system and would recommend 8MSolar to other homeowners. Pros: Great quality, great value, skilled installation Cons: Communication prior to installation.

8M solar - good value & professional service

I selected 8M Solar after getting bits from several firms (local and national) due to their competitive bid and good reviews. They did not disappoint: communication was good throughout, they handled all paperwork with the town and utility and the panels (up 3 months now) are performing great and meeting my expectations.

8MSolar Provides Great Service

Our solar system is working great, with no problems. It's early yet, so we have not had an electric bill since the system was installed. Therefore savings cannot be estimated yet. 8MSolar, our supplier/installer, were great to work with, courteous, timely and efficient. They installed our 11.5-KW system (34 panels, etc) in about six hours! Very impressive! They also helped our local code inspector understand the installation and provide approval of the installation. Why isn't everyone having 8MSolar install a PV system for them?! It sure beats paying so much for electric and burning the planet up to boot!

So, I'll soon be approaching 6 months. Over that time, a lot has changed and all for the better. 6 months ago, a Solar PV system for my home was still a long distant dream, at best. Now, thanks to 8MSolar, I've realizing that dream that I've had for a very long time of having a residential Solar PV system that powers nearly 100% of our home's electricity needs! This system, combined with an EV-capable inverter, has allowed me to also basically eliminate my gas bill with the recent purchase of a used Chevy Spark EV as well! Our solar installation with 8MSolar

On March the 29th, 2019, approximately 8 weeks after we signed a contract with 8M Solar, we joined the solar revolution and broke a few chains that bound us to fossil fuel use. We have had a very good working experience 8M Solar and would recommend them without hesitation. We came to them via an organization called Energy Sage. Energy Sage is an online marketplace that submits your home profile to pre-screened installers for quotes. We received 3 quotes. We are fortunate to have a relative in a solar energy business who screened the quotes for us and was very positive about the 8M Solar proposal. After some back and forth emails and phone calls focused on understanding the warranty, we signed on. Solar installations involve quite a bit more than slapping panels on your home and tying them into your electrical system. There is permitting involving your electrical power provider [Duke Energy for us], your city or county, and in our case, a homeowners association. 8M was on top of this process from the beginning. They were always responsive to any questions or uncertainties we had. Even the day the panels were delivered to the end of our driveway [the deliveryman could not physically get them further up the driveway], I received an email asking if they need to send someone out to move them to a less inconvenient place. Throughout the installation process and electrical connection, as well as after this was completed, we have received the attention to all questions that we raised. Overall this has been about as seamless and flawless a process as could be expected. I would absolutely recommend this company.

We have a brand new 8+ KWh Solar Power system set up with required approvals from the town, HOA and Duke Energy. It's all done very smoothly with a solid project management support and multi-agency collaboration by 8M Solar team. Shahzaib and Ali collaborate with all the stakeholder agencies and organize all the steps very efficiently and effectively. I evaluated 12 solar companies in 7 days from two states(NC/VA) based on quote feedback, knowledge and size of system along with the type of panels and inverters. 8MSolar made the final cut. Their solar knowledge (Usman), project management and installation were terrific. You will not go wrong with this company. They managed the install with great detail, they let me know ever step from install, electrical, permits, payment, online signatures and rebates. The communication was key as they responded quickly when I had questions and/or concerns. These guys know what they are doing. Great experience and great service

It took me roughly 2 years to decide to go solar. I met with a company in front of Home Depot at first, had an appointment at my home and all of that. It can be overwhelming at first if you never read anything about solar energy. Everyone will try to tell you that cost wise is worth it but it is always better to do your own research. On my second year looking at this, I visited once again a Marketplace called EnergySage - a place where companies will compete to earn your business - it was the best thing I did. I've uploaded a previous quote there and I got some good offers and feedback. This is where 8MSolar stood out above their competition. You do not talk to a salesperson - you talk to the owner who is also a certified Engineer in this area. Usman will walk you through the process with all cards on the table. He did point out some mistakes from the quote I've uploaded into EnergySage - this same mistake was also pointed out by another company. 8MSolar took care of everything for me: paperwork for HOA approval, scheduling all milestones ahead of time, performing the job to my satisfaction, submitting my Duke Energy rebate form and answering any questions I had for them.
