One of the reasons I chose Boston Solar was that a student's mother - who had purchased a system from Boston Solar - told me that her brother in law worked for Granite Solar in New Hampshire. They considered moving into Massachusetts, but eventually decided not to because of regulatory issues - they ended up referring prospective Mass. customers to Boston Solar because they were impressed with their business model. My experience was very good from start to finish: the company took a lot of time to explain how things would go and in particular did a beautiful job on the installation. I dinged them a little below on schedule because things lagged by several months - my understanding is the solar biz has been flat out this year, so that may have been unavoidable, but the woman who recommended them said they were also behind last year.
