YSG Solar delivered what was promised

What I most liked about YSG Solar was that dealing with them was a hassle- free experience . YSG Solar provided truthful information about solar incentives and gave us the best price and longest warranty coverage for our solar project.The other companies, such as SunRun and Venture Solar, tried to lure us into a contract by providing false information about our annual electricity usage( they lowered it for a 20% or so) in order to show higher solar energy offset.They also tried to lower their price and to provide better warranty coverage only after learning the fact that YSG Solar offered us better deal. I give YSG Solar 5 stars despite the fact that there were some delays in completing the project but I understand that those delays were due to the ongoing pandemic. I have already referred my friends to YSG Solar and I will definitely recommend YSG Solar to anybody who is looking to install solar panels .

Best solar company!

One of the best things that I have done is get Solar System for my House, and I’m very happy that I’ve chosen YSG Solar company! The team is very knowledgeable and professional, from start to finish, and relationship continues even long after the install has been done. The system looks beautiful and performs better than expected and estimated. I’m glad that I did not have to cut any trees. When I do something, I research the subject in depth and need to understand everything, and the team at YSG was very patient with me and provided many different options for install and equipment. We went with 36 Panasonic 325W panels, and SolarEdge, which shows me consumption and production. The system has been installed for about 2+ years, and we have a positive surplus of about 6,000kWh.

They do not call you back when you need them!! Read all their negative reviews, they are so true! I am still under warranty with them and they will not call me back! Over a month of BS emails from them, still no call back. They won't answer my emails anymore. Sept 10, 2020 is when my contract runs out. Please find another company!

We regret going with YSG Solar

We have been dealing with them for more than a year and still our panels are not connected to our meters. They lie to get you to go with them and are very unprofessional!

Delivered and installed as promised

Had a11kw system installed 5 years ago. Works flawlessly, $12 a month electric bill once system is paid off. Permits and installation achieved without any issues. Everything done as promised.

YSG solar is the best out of several companies I have spoken to.

I chose YSG solar because they advised to purchase system which is the best choice. Leasing the system does not make any sense. It’s like buying electricity at a little cheaper rate. Most companies I spoke to wanted me to lease. YSG solar price is great and most of all the way they do the loan. I’m very happy and satisfied with my system.

Stay away - use another company

YSG is not a professional company from making false promises on schedule to the owner, David M. is not accountable. I was told the system would be completed In 2 months at most. That was in November 2019, everything will be installed in 1 or 2 days I am into my 3rd visit and still Not fully installed. I am dealing with an incomplete installation and a YSG team that's not accountable for what they do. I was told on 12/24 the rest of my connection will be 3 or 4 weeks. David asked me to approve the loan on 1/2/2020 and everything will be completed in 3-4 weeks. All it was so they could get paid, since he has avoided contact with me. I asked for call backs. Do not approve any loan from Service Finance Company, LLC until you are fully operational. Stay away from YSG, I have had an issue every step of the way, not one item or schedule has been kept. I will update my progress until my system is connected updated - 2/6/2020 As of 2/28 I have not received any schedule of my interconnection, e-mails and schedule request have gone un answered for weeks. I keep on getting the run around, I get the talking to Nora or David but no answers from Ken D who was my sales person. My loan payment has started in February and now I am paying for a system that's not operational plus my electrical bill. Two bills and not end to it. I have contacted Service Finance Company, LLC and waiting on their reply. I will update my progress as I hear back from Service Finance Company, LLC or when David M. decides to complete my project or call me back as requested. Updated 2/28 As of April 10th, YGS has not completed the installation of my system. In addition, I have contacted my municipality and the 3rd party contractors they use and understand that the Electrician and Architect have not closed the permits. All items and incentives agreed on the sales contract have not be provided. Stay Away from YSG, I will update my progress at a later time

Fantastic Experience

My expectation is that at some point in the future the government will not be able to keep up the substantial subsidies and there will be a massive consolidation i.e. warranty will be worthless. However, it’s systemic. Unavoidable. So keeping that in the back of your mind... YSG took care of all of the paperwork, meaning filing for permits, grants, rebates etc. and applying for reverse metering so you can sell excess production back to the utility company for credit. They provide remote monitoring of the grid production and diagnostics, and periodic physical inspections. Extremely happy with this company as a vertical provider, i.e. from design to after installation maintenance and everything in between. Recommend without hesitation.

Like a clinic in bad service

I signed up with YSG in June, and it's November and I'm still trying to get things concluded. It's becoming a full time job trying to track them down. They don't respond to emails, phone calls. They miss (many) appointments. It's bizzare - I am not even totally sure if they are still in business, or if they'll be tomorrow. The worse part is that I already have solar panels on my roof and which started to work but are already malfunctioning and they don't respond, and I don't know who will honor my seemingly swiss-cheese warranty. Looks like my job is heading to court, prospective clients may take heed.

Piss-poor knowledge and project management

I reached out to YSG Solar to get a system with a back-up battery in NYC. Heard mixed messages from different installers, but YSG were adamant that they can do the solar system and have a back-up battery from Sonnen. After some back and forth, finally signed on the dotted line. Then the fun began. Took another month and multiple calls for the permits to be even submitted. Then, on the eve of installation, the PM gives me a surprise -- they can't do the battery they promised, as it is not approved by NYC (after 30 different times telling me it was ok). There is only one option for the battery -- pretty much take it or leave it situation. After a week of back and forth, the installation day arrives -- Monday. We made it clear to the YSG PM that we want the system to be fully installed that week, the sooner, the better, preferably by Wednesday. A crew and supplies arrive. They get to work. Mid-day it turns out that not all of the supplies were delivered, and some of the key elements of the PV system were not on the truck. 30% done, the crew leaves. PM communicates back that the required parts are backordered and he has no clue where they are. Finally, on Wednesday, he arranges that some of the supplies (enough to finish the PV system, but not the battery) will be delivered the next day. We make it clear to him that we are expecting the crew on Friday to finish work. Thursday comes. Supplies arrive, PM is MIA. Now he can't find a crew to install it on Friday, maybe the following week. Still in the middle of this. When I first signed with YSG, even after some back and forth, I wanted to recommend it to my friends, and acquaintances, even recommend a commercial project for them. Not anymore. Just want them to finish, do a good job.

Great experience, great value, very responsive

I've been very happy with YSG. When I researched getting a ground mount system, their price was comparable to a competitor, but they had a much better financing option. The installation was in winter, so they dug the 125'+ trench to tie where the system would be to the house ahead of the main install. Once they started the main construction, it was done in about 3 days. Our utility company had to put in a new meter to track production and usage, as well. The monitoring software is very easy to use and helpful to track production, comparing month-to-month and year-to-year. The only issue we had was probably unlikely to hit most people. The Federal Tax Refund that helped with half the financing was "non-refundable", meaning, you must owe the taxes to get it back as a refund. So 2 1/2 years in, we're still waiting on about $6k in tax credits. This isn't a YSG Solar issue, but it would have been better to know ahead of time. If you itemize your tax deductions and have more than the standard deduction, this might affect you. But overall, it was a great experience.

YSG solar did anexcellent job installing my system.

Before I installed my solar system I got estimates from every solar company I could find on the web. I decided to choose YSG solar for the following reasons, they're a local company, their price was the most reasonable, they were courteous and knowledgeable and more importantly they were very patient with me. It's been more than one year since I installed my solar system and I couldn't be happier. I got all my tax credits back and currently my system is producing much more electricity than expected because of the long and hot summer days. thanks YSG!

YSG Great Service!

I did a lot of research and interviews with Solar installers, then I decided to go with YSG. I am very happy with the service they have provided. I never felt pressured to go solar unlike the other companies. YSG answered all my question and concerns. The whole process was smooth. They communicated with me through every step to make sure I was informed. The panels and inverter they use are highly rated and very efficient. Installation was done professionally. Their customer service is great. If you are thinking of going solar, I would definitely recommend YSG.

Great company

After looking into several solar companies, we decided to go with YSG and was glad we did. They took the time to answer every single question I had, and I never felt pressured to purchasing the solar unlike the other companies. The work they did was neat and on time. Upon completion of the solar, they followed up several times to see how the solar was performing and to make sure my electricity bill was correct. If your looking to add solar, definitely check out YSG.

Easy and Painless way to save $$$

I could not be more satisfied with YSG Solar. From start to finish they were professional. From the initial consultation, without knowing what to expect, they explained everything in details. It was truly a no-brainer decision to get solar based on how much it will cost me and how much I will recoup that and how much I'll save beyond that. They took care of ALL the paperwork, explain the loan options, tax benefits, etc. They came, they installed, clean up after themselves. My main concern was what kind of damage is done to my roof. 3 years later, no issue. My electric bill is now about $20, the cost of hooking up to the grid. I even bought a Nissan LEAF. My intention was just to save myself some $$$, but I'm so happy that I'm doing my part to save the planet and feel really good about it. All thanks to YSG Solar. And yes, they have helped me get the paper work needed to file my taxes and claimed my refund.

Great system

We've had the system installed for about 3 years now. It's been working great. The initial installation went smoothly and the paperwork process was taken care of by YSG. Would definitely recommend them.

GREAT SOLAR

I had a great experience with ysg solar. I purchased my system 3 years ago and it worked great. Never had any issues at all... when i put my house for sale, it lasted 2 days, and a main selling point was the solar system. The best thing about ysg was the financing option with the bridge loans.

Strong recommendation for YSG

YSG worked with us to install a 12 panel system on our home that has a stone-coated steel roof. David was very courteous and professional, answering all our questions. It was nice to receive a straightforward bid. Our steel roof scares away a lot of solar installers, but YSG was able to help without a problem. My wife and I are very pleased with the system. It's great having the free energy from the sun!
