Utah Solar Group (Out of Business)

I purchased a solar system from USG in April 2020. When I try to contact USG for after sales service, their website is gone and emails to utahsolargroup.com are bouncing. I suspect they are no longer in business. Does anyone know for certain?

I talked with several of the leading solar companies in the area, Utah Solar Group was very knowledgeable about the current technologies and explained everything so i could understand it. Although new to the area these folks had previously before coming to Utah built one of the best if not the best solar companies in New Mexico. Very impressive to me.

Initially I was little apprehensive about Utah Solar Group (USG). As they were a relatively new company and their prices were the lower than anyone else in Utah. However, I went with them and it has been smooth sailing ever since. They took care of everything and the solar was installed and up and running within three weeks of signing the contract. I would recommend USG to anyone looking for solar on their roof.

Ryan and team were fantastic and we couldn't recommend them enough! We met with several companies and people as we looked to add solar to our home. Other companies were very informative and good to work with, but nobody provided the combination of excellent service and high quality panels/parts at an excellent price. Ryan and team at USG have been very responsive when we've had questions and concerns and made the process super smooth and easy. I would highly recommend them to anybody thinking about going solar.

Working with Utah Solar Group was a seamless process. Ryan and his team did a great job keeping us in the know and moving our project forward. The project turned out great and they walked us through every step of the process including the tax credit info. I would highly recommend working with them as the work is high quality and the price is very competitive. Great experience!

We had to have our roof replaced and our original solar company was going to charge us 3-4 times as much to take our solar panels off. My sister recommended Ryan and the Utah solar group. They took off our panels and gave us such a good price that we ended up buying and putting up 2 more panels from them.

We're very happy with USG. They gave us the best price by far, along with great warranties on their work, the panels, and the microinverters. They were very knowledgeable about the process and very efficient workers. Every time I had a question I could reach them immediately, which was really important to me. They answered the phone every time I called, and responded to emails very quickly. I got quotes from several other larger solar companies, and the lowest they could go was about double the price of USG. They kept telling me their service and warranties were better (which is not true - the warranties I got from USG are better than what they were offering). In short, I'll always recommend USG for solar installation. They gave me an incredible price and followed it up with great service.

Hooked up with Ryan and Utah Solar Group by using the Energysage website. It became obvious very quickly that Ryan's company was a perfect match for us. Ryan came to our home and answered all of our questions and provided us with several options. He offered us quality products with extremely competitive pricing. He has assembled a highly qualified and professional team that performed the site survey, permits, installation and net metering activation with the power company. The whole process from start to finish went very smoothly and allowed us to qualify for the 2019 State and Federal tax credits. USG provided all the documentation for filing for those credits. We have worked with many contractors over the years. Would rank Ryan at the very top. He is honest, transparent, timely, flexible and we could have not asked for more. We selected USG over four other companies and could not be happy with the end results. The equipment has worked flawlessly and it is wonderful not having a monthly power bill.

This is my second second where I have installed solar panels. I was a little hesitant to use a newer company. Using Utah Solar group was the best decision ever! It was soooo much easier than my first install. Ryan personally to the time to walk through what type of system I was looking for... to make sure it would meet my expectations. I had originally wanted to use a different panel; Ryan recommended an alternative which turned out to be a much better fit for me. The best part of it was that the alternative panel I went with will produce more energy, looks nicer on the house; and was significantly less expensive. The warranty is the exact same. Once the decision was made... Ryan and his team was on top of everything. Addressed all concerns and issues in a very timely manner. For me it was a painless process. If all of the other companies I have used for different areas of my new house performed with the same world class service; I would have more hair left

I’ve been looking at getting solar for years. I put out a request to have a few companies give me quotes. I received a total of 5 quotes from various companies with USG being one of them. Ryan’s quote was anywhere from 40-60% less than the other companies while using the same high end materials. Other companies said the install would be 2-3 months out while Ryan’s team had me up and running (install, inspection, and panels turned on) within 45 days of signing papers. Not only was he able to take care of the panels for me, he was able to get my 27 yr old roof completely replaced in the 45 days as well. The install was not without “issues” though. While trying to run the electrical through my attic they accidentally drilled a small, 1/2 inch diameter, hole in the top corner of my son’s closet. The moment they were aware of the issue, they were extremely apologetic and made sure to fix it and return the closet to normal. They patched up the hole so you’d never know anything happened. I was skeptical at first with such a low quote. Once I met Ryan, I realized he’s trying to take care of his customers by making them happy rather than making his wallet fatter. I’m glad I went with Utah Solar Group and would recommend them to anyone that asks! Their prices, quality, and customer service CANNOT be beat.

Ryan and his crew did an awesome job. They came in on time and on budge (which was much lower than the nearest competitor). His crew was efficient and courteous. We plan on using them to expand our array Later on.

Working with Utah Solar Group was unbelievably simple. From the moment I reached out to Ryan, he and his team were incredibly responsive. They patiently answered every question I had, including how to get the rebates that were available to me. This helped to lower the already unbeatable price of the system. To top it all off, they followed up with me months after install to ensure the system was functioning properly. I would HIGHLY recommend Utah Solar Group to anyone considering solar.

My sister is the head of HR for one of Utah's largest rooftop solar companies. When I decided I wanted solar for my home, I got a quote from them and, to try to have a little bargaining power, I got bids from some competitors. I was SURE I was going with my sister's company. Then Ryan and USG came in with a bid that was 25% less and, with USG, I'd end up with higher-efficiency panels on my roof. I decided to take a chance on Ryan's young company and I'm glad I did (though my sister was none too happy to lose her referral bonus). The install went smoothly, though they had to move things around a bit due to weather (February install) and the flu putting some of their installers out of commission. No harm, no foul. They've been just as flexible with me--taking my calls and texts and answering my questions without complaint. Don't pay thousands more just because a company has more installs or reviews--USG is the real deal, and they saved me thousands.

I was very satisfied with Utah Solar Group. Their cost estimate beat other estimates. Ryan, Jazmyn, and the USG team communicated well, were prompt and courteous during installation, kept me apprised at each step along the way, and were prompt in responding to questions, even after my system was installed and paid for. I highly recommend them!

It's really refreshing to work with a company that doesn't play the sales games. Ryan is as honest and straight shooting a guy as you can find. He explained his vision for Utah Solar Group to be a leader in pricing and quality and really look out for their customers. He knows that's the formula to be successful, and he really doesn't deviate from that. The quality of my panels and equipment is top tier. I think their electrician, Jeff, deserves a particular shout out for his quality of work, professionalism, and for being a friendly guy to have crawling around in my attic. I appreciate how responsive and helpful everyone in the company has been. I strongly recommend these guys to anyone!

I took a leap of faith and went with USG based on a gut feeling. There are so many solar companies out there it can be really hard to choose and it feels like splitting hairs. There were a few bumps in the road but Ryan was very up front and honest. He kept us up to date on everything happening and his team was wonderful. They did a great job and my roof is a very very difficult roof to work on (very steep & complicated). They maintained the integrity of the look and feel of my victorian house. I am extremely impressed with their work, respect and integrity as a company. I highly recommend Utah Solar Group!

Let me save you some time… I shopped around with 6 different solar companies in the valley and Utah Solar Group was the BEST by a big margin. You can stop shopping around now and feel good about it, because you won’t find a better company for your system than USG. The owner, Ryan Wallace, and all of his staff were amazing to work with. When the City inspector came back with violations from prior electrical work a contractor had done at my property. USG did the work to fix those issues even though it had nothing to do with the solar project. USG’s electrician is really awesome! Now, about the pricing… USG’s pricing was so good that ALL of the other companies couldn’t compete. One of them was only a few grand higher (with less nice panels), but the highest was nearly $20k more!!! Holy crap am I glad I got a bid from USG. Seriously! I ended up disclosing Ryan’s price with the last two folks offering me bids, because I was tired of shopping around and just wanted to cut to the chase. They were both individually shocked and told me they couldn’t match it. One guy said it was so low I must mistakenly be giving him the price after the rebate. I replied, “Oh, you know what, you’re probably right.”, because he was acting weird enough already. The other guy was saying this company must be selling me refurbished panels or something shady to get me that low of pricing. Ryan was great, honest, and I had no inkling to doubt him, but this other guy was making me nervous with how insistent he was that the price was too low to be on the level. So, I ended up contacting Solaria (the solar panel manufacturer) to ask whether I could confirm the panels are new and not counterfeits. I felt a bit ridiculous asking this. The Solaria rep I spoke with (Eric) inquired who the contractor was, because he works with many of them directly. When I told him it was Ryan with USG the rep said that he works with him all the time, that he is extremely reputable, and that I have nothing to worry about. I felt bad for letting that other solar guy get me to start doubting Ryan. However, it was nice to receive confirmation from the solar panel company that Ryan was awesome and that this super amazing deal really wasn’t too good to be true! I’m extremely pleased with my system. The monthly cost of which is the same price I used to pay in electricity, but come March I won’t have an electric bill ever again! AND, this is BEFORE the huge tax credits! Once I get those back my monthly payments will be even less, so it was a no-brainer to get this system. When utility prices rise I won’t even have to worry about it. Plus, even if electricity prices don’t go up at all, it’ll be less than 10 years for my system to have paid for itself, and then the next 20 or so I’ll just be getting free power from the sun!!! Making money while feeling good about reducing my carbon footprint! Mmmmmm… I can already taste that sweet, sweet solar nectar trickling off my roof and into my wallet.

USG is awesome! It was great working with Ryan directly! He was super professional and knows A LOT about solar!
