Do NOT do business with this company, I signed a contract and they actually changed the contract to a higher usage rate and forged my signature. Thay are crooks and should be put in jail. Than you call their customer service and they are useless. I actually am disconnecting their panels. Now I have a bunch of ugly panels on my roof doing nothing. Avoid VIVINT like the plague.

Stop soliciting

We had some young guy not maybe but 18 Come to our door and demand home info from your company. We are not customers. Then he was kinda weird by looking in our house. He asked who owns this house etc. please stop this! It’s dangerous as most of the time they do not show badges and aren’t rectifying why they need to know our names and other info and how do we know these ppl arent burglars or stealing personal info.

My electric rates also increased after switching to Vivint solar. The rates are displayed differently which is why I didn't notice at first. Terrible customer service when trying to address this issue.

Don't use Vivint - I regreat the day I did

My electricity costs increased very much after installing the solar panels. There's something wrong with that - the white box doesn't work. I have never done so many things to save electricity as now - shut down swimming pool, almost not using air condicioning, doing laundry and taking shower after 11 p.m and even so, the costs are high. I've been calling for 7 months - I lost the count on how many times. Sent several emails - nothing have been done to solve the problem. In the past seven months I've paid more than 1 thousand dollars of extra costs. I write every week. It's unbelievable the total disrespect with the clients. Please don't do the same mistake. If you want solar, there are good companies out there.

Do not purchase from Vivint solar

Vivint solar has lied to us from day 1. They installed our panels incorrectly, they never installed an inverter so our panels weren't working for months after install. They missed appointments and showed up late to others. None of their departments communicate with each other. They also assured us that our tax credit would be taken care of. Not only do we not get the entire tax credit, but they also didn't even apply for this credit like they said they would. Nor were they willing to apply when I asked. Instead I had to fill it out by myself and constantly ask my sales rep information for the form when they could have easily completed this form for their customers.

DO NOT USE!

Had solar panels (lease) installed in June of 2017, every month my electric bill has been still significant ($100+ per month on average), well it's winter here and we don't have A/C running nor our pool filter and I just received a bill for $212.00 from the utility, so my payment for electric in the winter including Sunrun is 340.00!!! My last house I used a different provider and we NEVER had an electric bill.....Bottom line and I promise you this is all the truth...DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!! Customer service brushes you off, the management does the same! Horrible!!

Thank you for your feedback. We hate to hear that your experience with us has been unsatisfactory. Our goal has always been to be as transparent as possible when advising on solar. It is disheartening to hear this was not the case for you. We do work with trusted partners, who complete installations and solar advising for us, but the agreement is with Sunrun. Regret Hiring Vivint Solar

I made the choice to install solar panels by Vivint solar and I regret it ever since. In August 2017 I had my panels installed. It's now 1/2018 and my panels have yet to be turned on. Meanwhile I had to make my first payment on my panels. You would think 5 months would be plenty of time for Vivint to switch on my panels. When I called Vivint they said there's nothing they can do for me. You have been warned. Do not use this company

Unbelievable

this is my second complaint through the BBB with vivint solar. if you are considering going through with their "service" please rethink your options. After my first complaint about how they're billing and contractually obligated services, they seemed to have corrected the issue and i was told by at least 6 different Vivint employees that i should be receiving a rather hefty reimbursement for over payment. Every single week i called to check the status and 6 MONTHS LATER the "committee" who decides this (who you cannot speak to or get to and get this: i was told they only meet once a week to discuss reimbursements) denied my reimbursement claiming that my unit has been working since September. In September, I finally cut off my automatic payment method after 3 months of trying to get Vivint to fix their issue and they almost immediately showed up at my door after cutting off payment. I understand it started working in September, that's when they finally fixed it. It was the 20 months prior that i am awaiting reimbursement from. I am not exaggerating, 20 months of my unit not working and they never told me anything. So now they are re-submitting my reimbursement which does not give me any hope at all, and was told they will not reach a decision for at least 3 weeks. I have no faith in this company and i hope you will not attempt to.

Worthless Warranty

I contracted with Sunrun through Solar Universe about 3 years ago. They guaranteed my roof was okay before they installed the Solar system. Once installed we had very little rain. in year 3 (2017), the rain came and we had a number of leaks where the installer put the system. I called their installer and Sunrun and it took 5 months to get them to even respond. They both indicated it was not their installation. After realizing that my roof needed to be fixed one way or another, I had to pay Sunrun to take the Solar System off and re-install it for a whopping bill of over $3,000.00. This cost pushed out my breakeven to around 10 years and I would not do it again.

Extremely happy with Vivint Solar in Albuquerque!

Was referred to Vivint Solar by my father, and am extremely happy to be up and running and producing power! We have 2 refrigerated air units but our bill is still manageable with our savings, which seems to be around 1/3. The process requires a little patience, given the bureaucracy in dealing with the local power company, but our sales manager, Troy McGee, kept us informed every step of the way so there were no surprises. We are really glad we did this, as there was nothing out of pocket and it should increase the value of our home. On our home, you can hardly even see the panels and when you notice them they look pretty cool. Highly recommend!!!

SUNRUN IS A SCAM. THEY ARE RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND MAKE UNFULF

If you guys ever plan to install solar, please stay away from SunRun. They make promises, but don’t deliver at all. They are rude and unprofessional. When something goes wrong, they will not take ownership or responsibility for their mistakes. They will give you the run around when seeking for help and will pass you around like a hot potato. Let me explain my story. About 6 months ago, they installed solar panel on my house. On the installation day, SunRun arrived at my house very early in the morning and was very rude to my pregnant wife. They immediately tried to rush her out of the house quickly because they said they were on a time constraint. They didn’t even allow her enough time to feed our son, change his diaper, apply his eczema medication, or even prepare a bag (medication, food, cloth, and diaper). She felt uncomfortable by how they were pressuring her, so she left the house immediately. As a result, my 2-year old son who has eczema, scratch himself the whole day at the babysitter’s house. That same night including the next 5-7 nights, it was hell for us. He scratched himself to the point that he started bleeding, which resulted in stains on the bed sheet. We had to wake up almost every hour to apply medication on him because of his itching or else he wouldn’t be able to sleep. Typically, he wakes up about 1-2 times a night because of the itching; but in this case, he was up almost every hour for almost a week straight. This is not acceptable at all! In addition to that, they did not do a good job installing our solar panel. SunRun installed solar panel and damaged my roof, but they won’t take any ownership or responsibility at all. I have neighbors and contractors who witnessed the damage and SunRun didn’t accept their statements. I had to hire my contractor to perform an emergency repair to the damage because it was raining that week. SunRun also claimed that nothing was wrong with the roof when they came back for inspection. However, prior to their inspection, I informed them that I hired my contractor to fix the damage because it was raining that week. They even stated that I did not provide any documents for my claim. What a lie! They gave me the run around and continued to pass me around like a hot potato. One of their managers wanted to meet me and my family in person to personally apologize and compensate us. We scheduled a date and he never showed up. My wife and I waited the whole day for him. No calls or anything. The next day I called the manager to inquire about him not showing up and he tried to deflect my questions. Then, he became irate over the phone. I’ve been back and forth with SunRun for about 6 months with no success at all to this day. I would never want anyone to go through what I’ve been through with this company. No one deserves to be treated like this and I would hate to have to hear another story like this one. I know it’s not going anywhere with them, so I’m here asking the public for help. Please avoid this company.

Sunrun BAD IDEA, Very Bad

I would like to share an Email I Recently sent to Sunrun, it describes a lot of our problems with this company. Hi Mike, No New issues, just the same ones that Horizon Solar left me with, after their shotty install job. Still have a ghost in my Electrical system, about every 2-3 weeks I have to replace something electric, This week it was the light switch for the back porch lights. 3-weeks ago it was an outlet in my daughter's room, her computer and other items plugged into that outlet stopped working, after some testing we ended up replacing that outlet, again I believe this is the 3rd time we have replaced that outlet since the installation. The Back porch light bulbs, never last more than a few days before they blow out, these are brand new 5000 hour fluorescent bulbs, they last an average of 8-10 days before needing to be replaced. The front porch lights don't work half the time when we turn them on. And the last electrician you guy's sent out here said I had $20-30k Twenty to Thirty Thousand Dollars in damage to my Electrical system, Funny how you guy's just stop talking to me when he reported that, And you sent the account straight to collections instead of trying to fix the problems .... Did you think that all these problems were just going to fix themselves ? Maybe you though I was just making all of this up ? Until your Electrician came back with his report, you probably did think I was making all this up, but even after all of that, Instead of Trying to fix the problems you just sent the account to collections... Did you think we were just going to pay the bill and live with the Damages ??? Your Electrician also said I have something called Ground Leakage, he had measureable current in the grounding rods for the solar system, So if your system Really is working Like you guys say it is , It looks like all of that power is going right into the ground, and I am paying for it !, Before Solar I had a $200-$400 dollar Electrical bill, Now I have a $250-$600 Electrical bill EVERY MONTH, and I have a $212.59 Solar payment TOO... Edison has told me on multiple occasions that this solar system is not working correctly, Your own Electrician told me this system is NOT working correctly, and I have thousands of dollars in damage to my Electrical system, I still have high, Electrical bills Even Higher than before we had solar ? and a $212.59 Solar bill on top of that ? My Roof still leaks, I have sent in several pictures of this Multiple times. My Heater still doesn't work and it's almost winter AGAIN !!! Hot tub was never Reinstalled, now after 3 years of sitting it needs to be replaced, Pumps, lines, valves, all damaged by freezing conditions here in the winter. Backup generator was never installed, Inverter still makes terrible noises that we can hear thru the whole house, Since the day the Second Inverter was installed over 2 years now, the inverter has only recognized 35 of 36 panels, When I told Horizon about this, they referred me to Sunrun, you guy's are supposed to be monitoring this system and you can't see that ? Sunrun should have scheduled a service call to fix this issue years ago, but they didn't, and neither did Horizon Solar. A few days ago, the same day we replaced the back porch light switch, the pool pump stopped working , I can only imagine that it has something to do with all of the Electrical problems we are having... The pool pump is going to be over $1000.00 one thousand dollars to replace, So if I find out it was related to the issues I am having with the electrical system I will have to Charge the replacement and installation of that, to you guy's also. All I am asking is that my house be put back together the right way, Damages fixed, Appliances Replaced, Safety Restored... I am not asking for, the thousands of dollars in lost wages, from the 28+ days I had to take off of work for Horizon Solar to get the system installed. I am not asking for the $2,000 that it cost us to get all the information recovered from the hard drives, that were fried during the installation, so that we could get our Small Business up and running again. I am not asking for the Hundreds of dollars I have already taken out of my pocket for, Switches, Outlets, Bulbs, Tools, lighting fixtures and Appliances. All I am asking for is Everything to be fixed once and for all, to be completely Honest with you, You Guy's ( Sunrun ) have not even made an attempt, to fix anything, you sent one Electrician out here, he gave you some bad news, and now NOBODY wants to own up to Taking Responsibility for the Damages Done to our house. (by the way I am a Residential and Commercial inspector for a living, incase you are wondering why I see every little bit of Damage, Because it's my job...) Hey here's an idea, Maybe you guy's should hire me, to do your post install quality assurance checks... Best John W

Best Company to grow thru

I did my research and got bid from a lot of different companies. And than I started reading reviews and Vivint Solar had some bad reviews that got me thinking. Than I met Vivint Energy Consultant he explained every Single thing to me and showed me everything in writing. I got mine last year and it’s producing more than I thought it has all the warranties and I know how the technology works. The reason Vivint has bad reviews because of not qualified sales guys. Make sure who you are working with if it’s a new guy pass on it that’s why people have problems.

Worst Customer Service for Solar Panels

We are so FRUSTRATED with VIVINT SOLAR. We had the panels installed in 2016. Definitely saw savings on our electricity cost. THEN there was a hale storm in early 2017, and our roof sustained damage. We had to contact Vivint over and over again to get them to schedule removing the panels so we could have our roof replaced. We were provided a quote to remove and reinstall the panels. We immediately paid. We had to make several calls over a couple of months before we were even given a date to remove the panels so that our roof could be replaced. The day before the scheduled removal date, we got a call that Vivint would have to reschedule our removal. Again, weeks before a new date was scheduled. The roofing company got so frustrated with us because Vivint''s poor service was now impacting the roofing company''s schedule. We were so afraid that our roof would sustain more damage and possibly begin to leak into our home because this has been such a rainy year. It literally took them months, after we had paid, to get someone out to remove the panel. WELL, the roof is quickly replaced by our roofing company, and NOW WE CAN''T GET VIVINT TO SCHEDULE A REINSTALL. FIVE MONTHS GO BY WITH REPEATED CALLS TO VIVINT TO SCHEDULE THE REINSTALL. WELL, this morning (10/23/17) a technician rings our bell around 9 am to inform me that he is "here to REMOVE" our panels. I said, "Look at the roof sir, do you see any panels to remove?" The technician apologized and left. An hour or so later another technician arrives to advise that he is here to reinstall our panels. He sat in our driveway doing something in his truck for several hours, and then somewhere between 1-2 pm, two technicians climb our roof and start banging. Around 4:30 pm they descend the roof and start packing up. They then advise my husband that they had "prepped" for the actual panels and "don''t know when they will be back to actually install the panels because they have another job scheduled for tomorrow. So as of today, FIVE MONTHS AFTER OUR ROOF WAS REPLACED, WE STILL DON''T KNOW WHEN THE SOLAR PANELS WILL BE REINSTALLED..

Do not use this company . One of the worst experiences ever.

This company is a joke. Do not do business with Vivint. I had my panels installed two years ago and it has caused my nothing but problems. I have been through my second set of rain gutters due to snow build up in front of the panels and I every time I call to make a complainant I keep being told "sorry that's our problem or our fault". So somehow I am now responsible for my gutters being damaged because of their shoddy work. The customer service department is one of the worst I have ever dealt with , they have not a care at all when dealing with an unhappy customer and forget about the local office calling you back. With service like this I am sure it will only be a matter of time before this company goes out of business.

Terrible Follow Through and Communication

Vivint left several broken tiles all over our roof, around and under the panels that were installed. There are areas of our roof that were completely exposed and we ended up having a major leak. Vivint was able to send out a repair crew to patch the leak and ceiling inside the house, but it has now been 5 months of no resolution with our roof. They've sent several contractors to asses the damage, but no one has been approved to make the repair. Every time I hear from our customer service representative, it's in response to an update that I am requesting instead of proactively keeping me posted on any progress or effort that is being made. When I sent a message expressing my dissatisfaction and requesting firm information the response I received was "Thanks... I'll check on that again for you" that was last Thursday, it is now Wednesday (almost another week gone by) and I haven't heard anything from Vivint. Though I appreciate that they sound like they are willing to make the repairs, the process has taken way more time than anything like this should take and also taking way too much of my own effort making sure the repair is getting done and on track.
