I wish Sunpro would have never sold out to ADT. I had my roof replaced and ADT solar remove the panels so that the roofers could replace my roof. The problems began when ADT came out to replace my panels. The installers took no pride in their workmanship when reinstalling the panels. I watched them spin the corner of the panels on my brand new shingle roof they wore Off excessive amounts of asphalt for my shingles by again not taking pride in their workmanship. I had to ask my roofer to come back out and replace dozens of damaged shingles that the ADT solar installers caused. They sent two separate cruise out to take pictures and according to them there was no damage yet my roofer who is in that business clearly stated that they did and since they took pride in their workmanship replaced what they could as a professional courtesy. I've tried to work out an agreement with ADT solar an adjustment to their Reinstallation of their panels but they've refused to compromise. They have now since threatened to send this to collections which I will provide whoever wants to see all the correspondence I've had with this company. They have a very good product but their installation practices and professionalism does not allow me to recommend them as a solar business for somebody to go to.

Real Professional's

I really enjoyed the Professionalism of the TEAM and it started on there arrival.

Installed 2021. Leak in bedroom ceiling under panels reported on july 8, 2023. They have come to look at it, stopped the leak but not come back to repair the damaged drywall or roof deck. They do not call me, ever. When I call them I am told “someone will be calling you about this”. Never happens. I believe they are not going to fix this damage their solar panels have caused. Sunpro was great, with ADT my only experience has been negligence.

Solar review

ADT was very prompt in getting our system installed. Since installation, our bills have been very minimal. Love the fact that we received a credit on our utility bill that has helped during the summer months. Would highly recommend getting a solar system and using ADT as your provider.

Poor support

My system doesn’t work very well, I have two Tesla power walls and they don’t work. I have called multiple times and they told me they were aware because my power walls told them they don’t work. But every time I call, they say they’ll send someone and they don’t and everyone seems concerned, but nobody does anything

Horrible experience. Do not use this company.

We have had a horrible experience with this company since the day our panels were installed. It took 8 months for our system to be operational due to us not being able to pass inspection. When we finally were active, we soon learned that our battery’s electric panel was not set up the way we were promised. We have spent the last year trying to get it required properly. We had a technician come out about 6 months ago who told us he couldn’t help because he’s not an electrician. Then our ticket was closed without anyone coming back out. My husband spoke with two customer service representatives this past week. Now we are being told that we are required to pay their electrician to fix it because in their words “your system is working”. If I could have them refund my money and take the panels back, I would. This has been a nightmare for the past year and a half.

Poor customer service/breached contract

Before ADT bought out Sunpro, it was an amazing company. Was always on top of things. Now, since May, I've sent over 20+ emails to fix one solar panel that's not working up to what it was designed to do. Very rude, very unprofessional company I've ever dealt with since the takeover. Run far away from ADT Sunpro Solar. Bunch of crooks. My next option is to speak with an attorney for breach of contract.

False information on finance a tax exception

Do mot be fooled by this company they sold me a solar system explained the financial aspect as to that I would receive a tax credit or $21k and that money could be applied to the loan amount of $60k that was being financed so that my payments could stay at $250. Come end of year when I did taxes we only qualified for $1000 credit. This company tries to convince you that you automatically qualify for that tax credit and when you can’t apply it to your finance loan the payments will go up because that $21k tax credit was not applied to your loan amount so you are stuck woth a higher pmt for the following year. So its not cost effective because you still have to pay $350 of solar pmt plus the electric bill of $250 or $300 so your bill is $600. Not worth. Don’t fall for this scheme guys its all a setup with Sunpro now ADT. If you wanted to know what the catch was well there you go!! That’s it.

Extremely Disappointed with ADT Solar

I am sharing my experience with ADT Solar, which has been quite disappointing. They initially promised to complete the work within a specific time frame, but the project has taken much longer and remains incomplete. When I raised concerns about the delay, I was referred to small terms and conditions hidden within a lengthy document that I supposedly agreed to. This approach feels like a form of blackmail. Furthermore, the communication with the company has been very poor. After I signed the necessary documents, the responsiveness of their representatives, significantly declined. In fact, John ( whom i signed the contract with) went so far as to block my number after signing the contract, forcing me to use different numbers to reach him every time for the project status. Adding to the frustration, the bank has already initiated loan payments, while there is no clarity on when the work will actually be finished. I've already paid for four months without any resolution in sight. Initially, I had high hopes for ADT Solar due to its reputation, but my experience has been far from satisfactory. To make things worse, the bank is already taking money for the loan, but I have no idea when the work will be done. I've paid for four months already. I thought was a big and reputable company, but their behavior has been disappointing. I want to warn others not to be fooled by the idea that ADT Solar worth the price– the trouble and frustration just aren't worth it.

Horrible service

This has been so far the worst experience I’ve ever had. They came out to install the solar have the paddles didn’t work trying to contact somebody is impossible. They send unmarked vehicles to your home to do your repairs and install no uniforms very unprofessional when they came to repair finally the 13 out of 26 panels that were not working there were still one panel that has not been working and it’s been not working for about a month now then they had the part sent to my house. There has been no follow up phone calls whatsoever I reach out to ADT it’s days before somebody even replies got my electricity bill is $390 plus the 251 Payment that I make on the solar every month. I absolutely regret this I’ll never go solar again. It makes no sense. I don’t hear from the sales department when I reach out management nobody. I went with ADT because ADT does my home security horrible idea

It took a long time. They worked hard in the hot sun. One of the panels is not producing but they left before my app came on.

A Great Experience

My experience was fantastic from the sales call to turning on my solar panels. There were several delays in the project, from my end and in the process itself. I always felt informed of what was going on and they made everything so easy to get through. Angel and the rest of the team kept me up to date on everything and if I had any questions, they were quickly answered!

LIES DONT DO IT they dont even deserve one star

Sunpro promised me my solar panels would save me money. All they have done is cost me money and have not helped with anything! When speaking to them I'm told I had to reach out to my sales person. I then find out my sales person was fired two months before. Sun pro then sells to ADT who I have requested several times to help me out with the fact that their sales person lied to me sold me something that was going to do me no good and probably was fired for doing that to mutiple customers and my response is your solar system is working great!!! You need to buy another battery I fork out more money like an idiot thinking they are telling me the truth an ALL LIES!! ! Adt tells me to use my battery more so im not using grid power, well thats great but guess what still have to pull power because the system i was sold an promised would cover my house doesnt cover my house! Oh then you use your battery all day and guess what no battery to supply you house at night so once again using grid power. I call adt an I told to save said battery power for night!! Its just circles after circles an no one will admit that SunPro / ADT screwed me nor do they care to try an fix that they allowed a lying sales person to take my money an promise things that werent going to happen an then they lied to me an sold me a damn battery that once again did me no good!! Do not use this company!! THey will just get you for $500 a month plus an $800 power bill a month and not care one bit about it!!!!!

Our Recent Install

The installation crew, both for our rooftop solar panels and for our backup battery system, were professional, punctual, polite, worked effectively and efficiently, communicated well throughout the process, and finished the entire installation within one day, from start to finish, and even cleaned up after themselves before they left. As the customer, it was a very good and hassle free experience.

Buyer beware

This has been a ridiculous experience. Buyer beware or better yet go elsewhere. They get you with the 18 months to pay back X amount or your payments go up. They recommend you use you tax refund to pay it back which is a great idea..... unless they set your payments to start before completion of the installments and the cutoff fate is before you can file the 2nd round of taxes. Cannot collect any referral bonuses because I can't recommend anyone to this company. The one person I sent a referral to was called multiple times in 1 day even asking them to stop calling because he was training his military personnel. They did not stop calling. I did get an angry phone call from that person though. That was fun. We've had multiple roof leaks- which have been repaired but whenever someone comes out to work on the unit, they leave things behind. Best experience so far is with the painting crew they hire which provide excellent service. We were also told that the system was always monitored and that they'd reach out to us if anything wasn't reporting. Yep nope. Had to call 2 times to have panels that weren't working. So much for that. The first time they sent 1 person for a job that needed 2 so they had to come back the next day. Three employees have told us that the company didn't know what they were doing. That does not bring much confidence to the whole situation either.

If you plan to install solar panels with the company ADT Solar (formerly Sunpro Solar) keep your eyes open when signing the contract. After two years I have realized that they lied, the promises were not true. I have never had total independence from clay electric, although I have kept all equipment turned off for a few days. Every month aside from the payments for the solar panels, I have to pay about $50 every months. I called them to uninstall the system, understanding that I would incur a cost, they refused, they told me that it was not possible. You already know if you decide for this company keep in mind that if something goes wrong (most likely) you are linked to it for life.

Over promised and underperformed

We have had our system for approx. three years and even with the dead blaze of the sun, we are still having 400 + electricity bills. Supposedly our system is producing what it says it's supposed to, but that is not the case. We have a 40-panel system. I would make many inquiries and read over everything as fair practices, I don't believe, are being applied. I went with them because I am a veteran and the company was a veteran-owned company. Who would think that a company claiming this would do this to a fellow veteran? Anyways, ask a lot of questions and make sure everything is in writing. See how much electricity you use over the year and if they do not promise to generate as much or more do not trust them. I hope this helps someone. Funny I tried to upload 2 pictures that I just took and somehow they exceeded the 5mb limit. Sounds about right with this company.

I just did my one year with having solar from ADT, well turns out I was right... have solar is costing me $1000 MORE then without..but nobody at ADT wants to talk about this part, all I here from them is what wonderful system I got and how I'll love it....BS. DO NOT GET SOLAR !!!!!!

If I Could Give Negative Stars I Would

ADT hard sold me their contract, arranged financing, and got the panels installed on my roof really quickly. Then collected their payment in full, which triggered the start of my loan payments. However, the panels were not installed to code. It took ADT 8 months to come back and correct deficiencies so the building department would sign off and the energy company would turn on my system. So, for 8 months I was making loan payments and also paying full rates to the power company. In addition, the installers stained my carpet and left black finger prints on my walls and ceiling by the attic access panels. They trashed the insulation in my attic and the people they sent to repair it broke up the corners of my drywall with their hoses. While I do now finally have a functioning solar system that I'm mostly happy with, the journey to get here was awful. Two of my neighbors installed Tesla systems that were operating the day after the panels were installed. There are options much better than ADT.

failed micro inverter replacement

Enphase confirmed failed micro inverter in January. Said to call installation company (ADT) when I received replacement part. I called ADT the day I received part. Still waiting on ADT to replace part 6 months later even though I have called numerous times. What good is a 25-year warranty if they will not replace part setting in garage. ADT field operations will not even call back their support staff much less me. ADT bought out SunPro since I had system installed. SunPro was the best. They addressed 2 issues with timely positive results. Wish I could say the same for ADT. DO NOT GO WITH ADT FOR SOLAR.

Worst Solar Company - Don’t use

Don’t just walk away from ATD Solar, run! We have had solar installed on all of our homes, all using different companies. When the salesperson comes to your home, it seems like a dream. The best company out there, but things start to go down hill after that. The communication is non existent. I’ve called and multiple times and customer service has filled out escalation forms multiple times. Guess how many times someone, anyone has reached out… 0, not a manager not my account rep. It’s unbelievable. Getting scheduled for install wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t call and follow up with them. Totally unprofessional. The installation is a joke compared to other solar companies. They cut corners and leave your house in worse condition than what it was when they show up. Not to mention, 0 communication. They rang the doorbell once when they showed up, no updates or anything the entire time they were here or when they left. To top it all of… The system they built failed its final inspection. The icing on the cake - it’s been over a week since it failed and guess what ZERO communication. I have called multiple times, left multiple voicemails. They aren’t even scheduled to come out and fix their mistakes so we can schedule another inspection. One of my biggest regrets is going with ATD. Safe yourself the headaches and find a professional solar company that understand customer service.

i had my service installed by Sunpro was told i had life time warranty. when it was sold to adt solar it has turned to crap! a panel was broke on install but they will not replace it. i will replace it and will never use them for anything again! i do not recommend Adt solar!

A Smooth Operation

Our 29-panel rooftop installation on 6/22/23 went very smoothly. The crew of four on the roof and two electricians in the attic and on the ground started their work about 10:30 and completed at 5:30 despite 95 degree temps. and very high humidity. Everything looks very professional!
