Very disappointed

I've had SunPro Solar for 2 years. Hail destroyed our roof in April and I had to have the panels removed and replaced at a cost of nearly $12,000.00. After reinstallation, the crew neglected to turn the panels back on. After service call, finally got them back on then the reporting failed. Third call got the panels back to reporting, but showing not generating full power. There is too much incompetence here. I cannot recommend Sunpro Solar.

Four months and still not connected!

I was told it was going to take 6 to 8 weeks and four months later I am still not connected. I am highly disappointed with the service we have been provided. I was told that they would pay the loan until I got connected, but that has yet to happen. My sales agent and the sales manager i started with are no longer with the company. I was told they would help me through the progress. I keep being told it is being worked on and that I am almost done. The loan company is only concerned the panels were installed. I feel their functioning is part of the installation because 45 panels on my roof that are not producing do me no good. I was also told my tax credit would be 30%, but it is 26% and only if you owe taxes. I hope this helps someone make their decision on the company they go with for solar.

Started in May 2021 here it is August 2021 and still not hooked up. Took a month an d a half just to get panels installed, now waiting on permit. Had to resubmit permit. Was told they would pay 600.00 towards electric bill, but then told only if it took a longer time. Am paying total electric bill, and loan for system with no benefits.. No a happy camper.

Still no contact from anyone in this company regarding my issues to my solar loan payments increasing without notice!!! This is not how a company should treat there customers that they supposedly value “at the time of sale of course ,plus you don’t get the federal tax credit like they talk about only if you owe taxes, they don’t tell you that, after 2 years your payments will increase, which they also don’t tell you!!!

My advice is to look elsewhere

I entered into my contract in March of 2021. Was told I would get a site visit to inform me about trenching I would need to have done before installation. After many calls to customer service to schedule the visit they finally sent someone out the last week of May then informed me they wanted to start the installation the first week of June giving me very little time to finish trenching. Then the installers show up and inform me the whole plan previously agreed to was changed with no consult with me. Took three visits to get the initial electrical installation completed (that was supposed to take one day). Waited for notice of inspection and got nothing until the inspector showed up completely out of the blue and of course we were not home since the visit was not scheduled with us. Rescheduled the inspection for the following week. Project was green tagged then and now have been waiting two weeks with no communication from SunPro as to when the final installation will be accomplished. The communication from this company is absolutely dismal. I have had to take the initiative to get them to talk to me about the status of my project from day one. Their canned answer is "well let me reach out to my team and see what is going on". They are continually reaching out to someone but not to me to give me an informed answer to my questions. I have had a system sitting idle now for over a month during what should have been the peak initial return on my investment where usage and generation capacity should have been at maximum. Very disappointed and would not recommend these people to anyone. I paid cash for my installation by the way.

100% do not recommend

100% DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. Absolutely ridiculous experience from the very beginning. First, no one that matters to your account answers the phone, text messages or emails. I’d ask a simple question about my account and not get an email back for a week. I’d then have to call customer service for them to try to help but most of the time telling me only my account manager can help. Second, the install crew installed the brackets in the wrong places. Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they as well as their boss over the phone tried to strong arm me into accepting their mistake. I was told I had 2 options, get my roof replaced and have the guys fired or accept their mistake. They ended up not replacing the roof but giving me extra panels to plug the gaps they created. The install crew also left their trash all over the ground outside, from paper to nuts and bolts, to other trash as well. Third, the electrician they sent out would have failed the city inspection due to a bad wiring job had they not had a backup electrician there the day of inspection to fix mistakes. Fourth, the energypro technician who was supposed to work inside my home didn’t complete his job. He only installed half of the light bulbs he was supposed to, Didn’t wrap my water heater and only insulated one of my attic entrances. Fifth, at the time of inspection, the electricians that fixed the faulty wiring turned on my system without final approval. Final approval is supposed to come after the power company installs the correct electric meter. The system has been on since that day. I received an email saying we were still awaiting final approval to operate. I responded telling my account manager that the system was already turned on by a Sunpro electrician and it’s been almost a week and i haven’t heard anything back. I called my electric company today and they told me they weren’t even aware they were supposed to be changing out a meter and that I needed to talk to Sunpro. Sunpro is absolutely a terrible company.. do yourself a favor, go with literally anyone else.

INCOMPETENCE

I have canceled the installation service do to the sunpro Incompetence. We signed up for the installation service in December. The took the plans and stated an engineer would be in contact. A Few Months went by with me calling to check on start date and being told I was next on the list.. i finally receive a call and am told they misplaced the plans can I send pictures of the exterior of the house, fuse box and trusses in the attic. I did and was told I was next on the list. A few more weeks go by, I call and they said they need more pics. I was confused but they sent out the sales guy Adam. He stated it would b done with in a couple weeks. Once again weeks go by and I call and they say they need an installation guy out AGAIN TO verify the pics. He didn't show, we rescheduled that late after noon continueing to attempt to make this as easy as possible. This is the 5th time "it's a brand new ranch house with a simple roof and zero shade, I could rap my head around what was difficult" Anyway the service guy shows up in a Yellow Peske truck. I say that because they have been to the house 3 times, nobody ever had a logo work shirt, uniform or logos on the vehicles. The service install guy broke the drywall in the attic scuttle hole/entrancehe must of stepped on it. He didn't say a thing to us about the damage. I didnt in form Sunproi because I am very passive, hate friction and just wanted the job done. Even though, I have to hire a drywaller, get the paint, etc. We were told again we r next on the list, couple more weeks and guess what? I called and the stated they need to said another installer out to take more pictures. That was it, I informed Sunpro we were done and that I couldn't comprehend how they are in buisness. It had been 6 months sense we signed up for installation, we burned vacation days to let Sunpro in the house, Sunpro damaged the house, Adam the sales guy repeatedly told lies, he promises Rainbows & lolly pops and delivers Nothing.(fyi my wife said he was creepy when I wasn't there). Something to ad would b the first couple months Adam and I spoke on the phone frequently. Then it changed to him not taking or responding to my calls and only calling my wife. I have owned a company for 12 years and I understand day to day problems witch is one of the reason I was so passive, I understand life happens but damn. If u do buisness with Sunpro unfortunately you deserve what u get...

I honestly think Sunpro the company is dishonest!

My experience with Sunpro has been one lie and mistake, or ball drop after the other. That solar tax credit that they promised I would receice to pay the large portion of the finance was a flat out misrepresentation of the tax law. I will get the credit to the fine of a few hundred bucks a year, while my solar bill jumps over $800 monthly. Sunpro oversold us on panels to the tune of $89,000. That's correct! they was without a battery that was never installed. I didn't know this until after Hurricane Sally I was sitting in the dark wondering why my solar dies not work? The answer is too long and depressing to write in a review but it's safe to say, I was every disappointed. Sunpro, completely took advantage with slick talking reps, who I have not had contact with since they left with my signature. Be Careful with Sunpro and get an attorney to read anything you receive...

Terrible Installation Service

During the sales presentation I was told this was a one-day project. Over the past three months I've had to put up with many, many delays and bad information passed on to the installation crew. My incomplete installation has been an ongoing lack of communication from the start. They were supposed to remove an existing passive solar system for my pool. The crews showed up and had no idea. A week later the next crew arrives and realize they needed to remove the six panels of the pool heater. It took them two days. More than a week after that they show up to install the panels. This ended up being a two-day project spread over two weeks. After the final panel was installed I was told it would just be a matter of one day to connect the panels to the electric system. As of this writing it's has been three weeks and I can't even get a call back from my account manager. They keep telling me they are backed up with the electricians. In addition, they were supposed to top off the insulation in the attic. Still not done.

NIGHTMARE install... NIGHTMARE company.

First- they didn’t send the crews out with proper equipment to install my 77 panels and dig a 150’ foot trench from my barn to my house. If it wasn’t for the scissor lift that I allowed them to use they would have had to carry 77 panels 15’+ to the top of my barn. Also, the electrical design was not the one we had discussed. I had to saw cut my own walkway and replaced concrete because the “electrician” couldn’t get the pipe pushed through. They sent 2 guys to hand dig a 150’ trench from my barn to my house. The conduits were ~6” from the side of my barn then kicked into the panel boxes. The majority of the conduit was less than 8” in the ground. I had to have them come out 4xs to re-dig the trench and backfill properly. The last time they came out they filled the trench with play sand they had bought from HomeDepot. It cost me over $500 to remove the material and backfill the trench. Including putting down new sod. The envoy system that communicates back-n-forth is constantly going in and out of service. I have reported it 2xs already and they have yet to send out a technician. My system was installed December 2020 and it took well over 2 months to get it turned on. My install kept getting rejected because SunPro sent in the wrong pictures and system information to CenterPoint so it was denied. 3-4xs. I was told they were going to cover a couple months of my old electric bill and the cancelation fee but I have yet to see a check from SunPro. I have a 77 panel 100k system and got a $1.50 install. I do NOT recommend this company. As of March 30, 2021 I have yet to my system running and communicating the correct way. 4 month install and counting.

I have been having a terrible experience with this company. Nothing but foot dragging from the day we signed the contract. It's been over a month since they installed the system. It failed inspections and despite simple fixes they still haven't finished the job to get it turned on. Edit to add: I got notification from the inspection engineer that they didn't fasten the install to my roof properly so it's a fail. Not sure how much longer before getting the BBB involved.

Beware

Purchased solar from sunpro in May 2020. Besides paying for solar have also been paying full price with Gulf Power company for last 9 months. Was not told that this may be the case because net metering was not installed until Feb 2021. Each company blames each other but I am still paying full price for two utilities until March 2021. Would discourage anyone from buying from this company. Not good business practice and do not get return phone calls from company about being reimbursed.

Their contract states that the 2nd mortgage on the solar panels are assumable until you sell your home and then you find out you must pay the balance to get your home sold. The second mortgage is held by Chevron and they will not let the new home buyer assume the loan.

Work crews severely lacking attention to detail.

The GOOD: 26 solar panels installed in one day. Pricing and financing are unbeatable. Clearly set expectations and communication from the "HQ" staff, and finance representatives. Sales person has been on point, professional, was forthcoming and honest. We did not feel pressured to buy, did not get "over sold" or pushed into anything. The BAD: Works crews lacked attention to detail, and the level of professionalism that would have made this a great experience. The solar panel installation crew left bits of trash all around the house. Plastic bags, plastic bits, nuts&bolts, 3-foot sections of aluminum mounting rails. They left a portable circular saw just sitting on the ground around the side of the house. I put the saw in my garage promptly informed them of it, and it took them two weeks to come pick it up. The "energy efficiency" expert left both attic lights on and didn't say anything. The lights were on for three days before I discovered them. What is the point of having solar panels if you leave my lights on? The electrical crew left bits of wire and plastic in the area they were working in. I noticed today that there is a piece of damaged siding where they were working. It looks like someone put their ladder right under the siding, and when they moved the ladder they damaged it. There was no damage to my house before they got there to work. If it was damaged when they started working, they should have said something to not get blamed for it. If they damaged it by accident, they should have said something because accidents happen and I would have understood. I have taken pictures of everything to have proof. How can I in good faith recommend this company to any friends or family members? I can't, and I won't, and now I have doubts about the workmanship done to install the panels. I hope the panels were handled and installed with a higher level of attention to detail than was shown for other aspects of the job. My recommendations to others customers: -Take pictures of all sides of your house before any work starts, so can prove if the crews cause damage to the house. -Make it clear that your expectation is that all trash will be picked up before they leave. That includes any trash in empty lots next to your house. -Make it clear that any attic lights will be returned to the off position, and any areas the work crews enter will be left in the original condition. -Make sure you have a direct contact to submit complaints of any kind. Document everything, save your emails as proof. -Wait at least a month before writing up a review so you have time to discover defects and inefficiencies.

Sunpro would only come remove the panels so we could repair our roof AFTER they had proof of insurance reimbursement. Now they are holding us hostage to put the panels back on by not performing the work until paid. This complaint is in regards to Marc Jones Construction LLC d/b/a Sunpro Solar n/k/a The Pro Companies every where from Florida, Louisiana and Texas Marc Jones LLC and any relationship to these registered companies have questionable practices in their business throughout Florida, Louisiana and Texas. This enterprise placed their solar panels without completing a full roof inspection on my Mueller Metal Roof. Mueller Metal Roof is not supportive of any solar paneling devices. I have records of texts and emails from the local Regional Director Chris Nazario here in El Paso, TX stating they are sister companies and certified Mueller Metal Roof installers. These are all fabricated and lies. I have documented letters and statements from the VP of Mueller Metal Roof Company attesting to their materials not being sustainable for any solar appliances AND they have no association to installers or certification practices with construction companies. Mueller Metal Roof Company is exclusively materials distributor. To date Marc Jones Construction LLC and all collaborating entities have avoided, ignored and not taken any responsibility for their destruction of my home with their solar panels. Their local lead installers inspected my home 3 times. They have never submitted any reports to myself or my legal representative. No local parties have contacted me to resolve this issue and have informed me they are no longer allowed to communicate since I have acquired legal representation. I am having to pay out of pocket for the entire repair estimated $58,000.00 (not including any legal fees I have paid and will continue to pay.) It is questionable their integrity as a company. It is questionable their insurance responsibilities. It is questionable their LLC practices are honest within the 3 states. A default judgment on August 19, 2020 in the 327th District Court of El Paso County, Texas, Case No. 2020DCV-1825 was completed. Again, no response from this company has been brought forward.
