I do not recommend SunPro Solar to anyone looking for solar. They are a terrible company with horrible customer service. DO NOT get sold on the their "Tax Incentive/Rebate" because it is deceptive marketing. You do not get the tax incentive within 18 months and your bill after that 18 month WILL go up because you won't get the money to pay toward the loan like they say. They are a bunch of crooks! No one knows which way is up when it comes to getting things installed. They came out after a few months of waiting, unannounced to install panels, got the wrong permits, didn't tell us that they got the wrong permits, installed the wrong electrical devices and then hoped we wouldn't notice, took an additional few months to get new permits, cut through vertical studs, tore apart the interior and exterior of our home, cut into the drywall behind the electrical panel exposing out kitchen cabinet and countertops, patched the outside with yellow putty (we have a grey house), failed inspection and washed their hands of us. They have left us with unusable panels, holes in the inside and outside of our home, with a monthly payment to our utility company AND for the solar payment because they got paid for merely putting the panels on our roof. Did I mention they failed the county inspection for negligent installation and then sitting almost 3 months later, and still no one has touched the house and won't return our calls or emails to their "legal" department. I cannot express enough how much someone thinking about going solar should stay away from this company! It has been nothing short of an absolute nightmare! They got paid and left us with their mess! LG solar panels are not LG, they are Hammer.

I would give 0 stars if I could

Installed panels very fast The. Never communicated or followed up to finish installation. Left me hanging paying my loan and Duke energy double bills. Never installed attic insulation and won’t pay my 1000 toward my double bill as promised. Still dealing with them to get things finalized and I’m about to take legal action!

LIES

My parents bought a system last year with sunpro. The sales rep, Matt Singer, advised them that they would be able to file the solar on their taxes and that they would get back around $20,000 and then they could pay it o their solar balance or spend it how they choose but their bill would go up $100. This is a lie and my elderly parents didn't know this at the time they signed. Not only did he tell this to my parents but some other friends and family. I have contacted the sales rep (no answer) and customer service with no answers as to who the sales rep supervisor is or who i can speak to about my concerns.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL LIE TO YOU. ZERO STARS. They caused our roof to leak, didn't come and fix the problem they made, continued to take our money without permission, and then ignored our calls. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! This company completely scammed us out of our money. They promised us things upon signing their contract that they have yet to fulfill after 2.5 years. The company's excuse for this is to blame their salesman, saying the employee over-promised, lied to our faces, and that now we just have to accept that. They have expressed zero remorse and have absolutely no intention of making things right with us. It has been 2.5 years of being tossed around from "manager" to "manager", never talking to the same person, and having our calls ignored. They continue to take money out of our account without notice or explanation and refuse to refund. We cannot believe that in these hard economic times, this company is willing to completely destroy people financially. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!

Horrible company

Don’t ever go with sunpro! They are scammers and they will not try in anyway to rectify the situation. We are 52,000 in debt now and are not even 65% energy efficient on a 1400 sq ft home. The rep that sold us out panels doesn’t work for them anymore so we are just basically Stuck with what he promised us and now being told there’s not much we can do besides “you can buy more panels and we’ll knock down the price per panel by 100-200 bucks”. Why would I want to go the solar panel route if it’s so much more expensive than what we’ve ever payed for electricity!!!? Why would anyone want to go through all this yo pay more every month!!!!? Please don’t believe these people with anything they say. Don’t let them trick you with the I assure you, you’ll be over producing we just can’t quote you an exact amount because there’s no way to really predict exactly how much. But he just kept reassuring us. Please don’t fall for any of it! Please! Learn from our mistake!!!! Please!!!! (Our reps name was LUPE)

RUN!!!! away as fast as you can!!!! Scam alert

The finance company is now hounding me and the system is something a first grader could do batter at. They make all kinds of promises but DO NOT deliver. SRP has failed the system twice due to numerous infractions. The major one is that the breaker coming into the home is 1/2 what it should be and I believe my home is in danger of burning to the ground. They then tied the system to the wrong breaker in the wrong building and that panel can't even support the system as I understand it. When they 1/2 way installed the system (probably the wrong panels) there was such a mess and wire, nuts, screws and other debris all over my back porch, garage entry, and back yard I was afraid to allow my dog to go into the back yard. 3 weeks later I am still picking up items that could hurt my dog. When I informed the company - you guessed it no one was sent back out. Good luck cleaning up our mess was the attitude. I also had told the company I needed the system to be such that if the power went off from SRP I desperately needed the building to stand on it's own due to safety concerns. It doesn't!! and no one will return my calls. Here is the deal if you have read this. You have been warned. I have two previous homes in other parts of town and the solar company I used at those times don't serve this area so I know how it should work. Call anyone but DO NOT use ADT/Sunpro. WE HAD THE COMPANY COME OUT AND INSTALL THE SYSTEM NOW ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO. STILL THE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING HAS NOT BEEN TURN ON. THEY WILL NOT EVEN RETURN OUR CALLS. THEY SAY THE ELECTRIC COMPANY NEED TO PUT IN A METER . SO WE WAIT WE CALL THE ELECTRIC COMPANY AND THEY SAY IT ALL READY TO GO STILL NOTHING. NOW THEY WANT ME TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON A SYSTEM THAT'S NOT WORKING TOTAL BULL SHIT.

Waste of time

I looked in to solar, they came out to put up, my roof is 82 YEARS old. I even told and showed Tony Smith, the agent, the attic, we walked around the house. Not a problem. This was July 2021. October 2021 the guys came out to install, they said no one told them it was a metal roof and they cannot install. DECEMBER I get a call from Tony only AFTER I called and left messages then FINALLY called office for him to return my call. He actually asked if I would replace my roof, um NO it'll last another 100 YEARS! He said ok, I'll take care of it. In JANUARY 2022 i get an email stating my credit rating dropped from 728 to 679! I went to check and was told I opened an account for 41 THOUSAND DOLLARS with mosaic pro! 1/27 I called Mosaic asking why do I have an account for something I do not have. They'll look into it. February 5th I get a bill for $212 for solar! 4 HOURS I was on the phone with various people with Mosaic Pro trying to figure out what was going on. I was eventually told I would have to pay the bill THEN file to get a refund in 4-6 MONTHS! I've called the office and the Louisiana office and NOTHING!

Horrible service

We had our solar panels installed December 9th 2021 and now February 1st 2022 we are still waiting for the final inspection. We have had people come out twice now and do something on the roof but no one tells us what's going on. Finace company e-mailed us congratulating us on the completion of our install but it is not complete. We have the panels but not hooked up. Worst customer service and NO follow thru.

Worst Consumer Experience

Sunpro is by far the worst solar company to work with. They have been working on my installation since April 2021. I am still where I started. Multiple ppl have come out to "correct" issues. Apparently no one knows what they are doing. There installation has caused 2 boxes to burn up. Which could've caught my house on fire. We have been inconveniened on numerous occasions. Including staying in hotel for week due to improper paperwork and installation. Sunpro is never apologetic, they obviously could careless and rarely return calls. At this point sunpro should come remove their panels and dismiss my loan. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SUNPRO TO MY WORST ENEMY!!

Nothing works

A crew came over to the house to finish up the breakers this morning. The system is erroneously telling me that there’s an outage and it’s not allowing power to feed from the grid. It’s 11pm and we have no power and there’s nobody available to address the problem. I’ve been dealing with this company for almost a year and it has been a nightmare with issue after issue.

Total Regret

I wish I never went with this company. I have had to deal with issues since the day they came to install everything. First off they didn't put one breaker completely back in so I didn't have power for that breaker. They sent someone other then the person who installed it who didn't know what the previous guy did and ended up causing more damage. They put a hole in my ceiling and damaged my car. So then I had to have them fix that. They were fast on the ceiling but my car was another matter. That took over a month for me to get my money for that. Then paperwork wasn't filed right with the city, so they canceled the appointment after the man came. Then they rescheduled that appointment and then the day before they called me to cancel. Well the inspector showed up and automatically failed it because he wasn't notified that it was canceled. So then a third appointment had to be done. Then after that the paperwork for the electric company wasn't done right and that had to be redone which set everything behind another 2 weeks. Then the final straw is they still didn't commission the battery so that isn't working.

Terrible service!

Terrible service! I was very excited about this. I had my solar panels installed on June 1, 2021. And until then, it was a pleasant process. On August 5, I received an email saying that they are ready for inspection. They set up an inspection for August 17, and starting with August 27 I started receiving weekly emails saying that they are waiting for Post Install Letter to complete the Inspection. After I asked why this is taking so long, they realized that no inspection took place. On Oct 28, they wrote me sating that there was a confusion with the Electrical Permit number; a simple miscommunication; so there was no inspection done yet. Then we rescheduled it for early November. I said I can be available all day except 2.40-3.00 pm for the given day since I had to pick up my kids from school. They said no problem, they will let the city know. That day, I took the day off to wait for the inspection, no one came. I asked what happened, on Nov 9 they said, they will learn about it let me know what happened. Then, they realized no inspection took place, and they said they will reschedule it again. In late november and early december, no one replied my emails asking what happened. Then my account manager changed. A new person was appointed. He said he would set up an appointment as soon as possible, and scheduled it for Jan 3, 2022. I took my day off; and waited all day; not even leaving for 5 minutes.. No one came.. I called SunPro, they said they would not know why no one came and that I should call the City of Greensboro. I called the City, and what did I learn? They did not even schedule an inspection for Jan 3. Furthermore, the city was extremely helpful and flexible for scheduling inspections. Per our conversation they immediately scheduled it for Jan 5. And I called SunPro and they told me that they cannot accept this new schedule, because it turns out that SunPro had outstanding balance to the city regarding my permit for some reason. That’s probably why they could not schedule my inspection in the meantime. They said they would resolve it, call the city and reschedule the inspection. To my surprise, they did not. The City of Greensboro's inspection team arrived on Jan 5 but SunPro dis not. I called and sent several emails to SunPro about this; no one replied. The inspectors called them too. I still have not heard of anything. The inspectors went ahead and finished the inspection. They could not pass the inspection anyway as they did many things wrong. So far, they were telling me that it is difficult to schedule inspection because of the City. It turns out that it was quite easy and efficient to work with the City Inspectors but SunPro team was not even capable of arranging it. So, now I will need to wait for them to come and fix their system and to have a new inspection. Yet, they are not replying to my voicemails or SMSs so far. It has been more than 7 MONTHS since my solar panels have been installed. I cannot use them until they made necessary changes and pass the inspection. They won't send you the 2,000 USD check they promised until the system is running. But you will be paying for the loan + the regular electric bill. The only good thing is they reimburse you in the meanwhile from time to time, but you need to find them, remind them, go after that. I am highly unsatisfied.

bad customer relation

I am a customer with Sunpro solar project, back to little week ago I left a review for them negativeness of course their lyingness,untrustfull, lengthy/longness, timely manner, unresolve problems and more . I will not be able to be happy. I felt regret with this product. I will not refer to my buddies anymore with this expensive product. I always give them a 0 review rate. poor customer service, and relation with the customer, i have many issue with them, i can not write down every thing on to the comment ,ofcourse i ma totally disappointed.

No follow- through!

Broken promises and horrible customer service! SunPro installed our solar system in the spring of 2020. We knew then that our roof needed to be replaced soon, and they told us that when it was time, they would remove the panels and their associated roofing company would replace the roof, after which they would replace the panels. (The sales rep, Cody M., even told us that if we got 3 estimates from other companies, they would charge us 5% less than the lowest estimate.) Well, SunPro's customer service was very responsive during the installation process (Natalie C. took good care of us), but as soon as the system was up and running, we were ignored. I've reached out numerous times over the past 2 months to schedule a roof replacement, and SunPro simply won't do it! I call them, they say someone will "reach out" to schedule it, and no one does. So I call again and get the same line. They are holding me hostage at this point, because I can't sell my house until my roof is replaced and they refuse to do it! And if I have anyone else remove the panels, it voids the entire warranty!! I have cash in hand, so they don't even have to deal with an insurance company! Beware: Sunpro makes a great sales pitch, but their follow-through is shameful!!

Big Disappointment

We have had the panels on our house for months. Still not connected was told that they would be finished this morning now being told later this afternoon. The finance company is a hassle and dealing with this has been nothing but a bunch of stress. If it’s not completed today I will be talking with a lawyer.

I wish I would not have gone with them.

Worst company I have ever dealt with in my Life. Started in June of 2021 and I still do not have an operational system but am being charged for it. Salesman no help. Account Manager no help Credit Union no help. BBB did not help. I keep being made one promise after another and they keep getting broken. Everything is everyone else problem but theirs. I am to the point that I am looking for an attorney now.

Do not use this company!

We have been waiting 11 months now and still do not have our solar hooked up. Got the panels installed in February. It has been a nightmare. It is like pulling teeth to get anyone to communicate. Turnover of sales reps, managers, account reps, etc., is extremely high. They finally got our battery installed 3 weeks ago and we have heard nothing since. Going with this company was the worst decision we've ever made.

After 1 consultation with a sales rep, I decided to not go ahead with the project. 3 weeks later, I received notification that I’d be charged a large cancellation fee! Never sign with SunPro!

Poor Customer Service

During the sales presentation and all the way to installation they are an amazing company and communication is above level. After the installation was completed, it took over a month for them to get back and schedule a inspection with the County. They blamed it on COVID and short staffed. I know inspectors in the County that denied this information, SunPro simply didn’t schedule the inspection. First inspection was scheduled, they failed. A breaker needed to be replaced. 3 weeks after they come to replace the breaker and 2nd inspection. This time guess what? Inspection failed again and this time was because the SunPro team didn’t submit paperwork that needs to go to the county and get sealed prior to the inspector come to the site for inspection, something as simple and administrative as that and they failed. Now 3 months after panels are installed, they are not working and no one is responding to my emails and calls. I just emailed the CEO Mr Jones a second time and still have not heard from anyone. In my opinion, the answer is simple they received the funds from the lender already since the contract says they get paid when is installed not when is working so they have no desire to make this right since they got paid. Now I have a Duke Energy bill and a loan bill for them not following up after installation of the panels. DO NOT HIRE this company do yourself a favor.

Poor Customer Service

After a year of using the panels, we needed to replace our roof but we’re unable to start the process as SunPro has taken over a month to get back with us on scheduling a time to remove panels. It takes 7 days to receive a phone call back and no one has been able to help with simply scheduling. I do not appreciate the lack of timely communication with a customer. They have made our lives very difficult and do not seem to care to help with the removal and reinstall.

Don't do it

My husband I decided to get solar to do our part in reducing our carbon footprint and to hopefully have some power from the battery when the power goes out. However, now I am wishing I could rewind time and say no to this decision we have made. We felt like we had a very good and honest salesman; however, he told us we wouldn't get charged if the system wasn't working. He also told us it would take approximately 6 weeks to have our system installed. He didn't tell us that there would be several electric panels attached to the side wall of our house. BUT.... we signed our contract to get solar with Sunpro at the end of March today is September 23 the panels are on our home but not working. Today I get charged by the loan company. So not only am I having to pay my full electric bill now I'm having to pay for a loan too. That's $530 a month for both. They were first telling me they're waiting on a meter swap from my Electric company which our meter was swapped out in June. Then I was waiting on the Tesla battery which we have now had for a few months. Now they're telling me they are AGAIN waiting on a meter swap from my electric company. The guys that were doing the electrical components didn't seem like they knew what they were doing. It took them multiple attempts to get things installed, they put random holes in our brick wall (which someone did fix after complaining), they left gaps in the brick from where the old meter was and filled it in with ugly orange foam that is extremely visible (was told a while ago that someone was going to fix that). No one told me that several electric panels would be attached to our home let alone ask me where they needed to go. The side of our house faces the road, right where they installed all this crap. Now as soon as you pull up to our house you see all these panels and foam (looks horrible). I am a VERY unsatisfied customer. And now since I am paying for something that is not working I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I was also told by our salesman that we could pay for a portion of our loan with the tax credit which will bring our payments back down after they increase in a year. After hearing these other reviews I hope that's actually true. To me seems like this company is more concerned with getting paid than customer service.
